Camel... :hi5:

Biggest point I was going to warn you about has happened...HG has kicked the bucket. Hopefully the guys repairing it do know there K-series well(not like the cowboys who did my brothers 25), although even after fixing it it's still something to keep an eye on. Other than that & electrics(keep an eye out for 'warning light bingo', where the lights come on for no reason whatsoever). When I was looking at them & the earlier F, I was surprised with insurance I was getting as well considering how officially i'd only had 3/4 months of driving.

Hope you enjoy it, it's a well loved car...But keep in mind it's still a Metro facing the wrong way. ;)

It's going to a garage that specialises in MGs and Land Rovers which also use the K-series engine. I know the garage to so trust that the work will be done properly. Just can't wait to dive it now. Supposed to be getting a call on Tuesday to let me know when it should be ready.

First thing I'm going to do is disconnect the exhaust control valve that block off one of the pipes to make it quieter at low revs. I want both poo shoots working all the time! And also swap the speakers for the ones in my Mini.

And maybe in a few months get the ECU remapped to improve throttle response and torque delivery. My uncle had it done to his and said I should get it done as it makes it feel like a completely different car to drive.

You'll enjoy it, even with out mods. :)

1.8 VVC of K-series goodness! Great engines (other than that problem...) and good handling and good looks, along with the octagon on the front & rear. :nods:

I got my seats in, had the fronts in since last weekend, got the rears in today. :) Pic's in my cars thread if anyone cares.

I am somewhat amazed to find this thread is still live and so decided to post a couple of my two toys. The green one is back aways on another page in history but the blue tonka toy is the winter car.

BTW, hello all in TDU 1 land that remember me, I certainly seen some names on here that bring back memories of good cruises...

Epic MG Mells! I've always loved them! :D

Thanks. I kinda fell in love with them the first time I had a ride in my uncles about 10 years ago.

Picking it up tomorrow with it's shiny new central locking, head gasket and cam belt. Can't wait. :)

Was the TF already or the MGF? And my love towards them started in GT2, with the MG MGF 1.8. Since then, i love those mid-engine MG roadsters! :D

Now THATS rare @Rebuilda! :D

Never seen any sort of Dutton before, let alone someone with two! Whats the little two seater? Only car I knew of off hand was the Sierra, never knew about the two seater.(Though it was a Scimitar Sabre until I looked at your other photos on flicker!). What are they based on? I know the Sierra was mostly made using ford bits.

Mk1 and Mk2 escort mainly but over the years Dutton used triumph donors at first, then fords.

The little green one is a Legerra ZS and there were about 180 kits built between '88 and '90. 2037cc pinto, 5 speed box and RWD. 685kg dry weight.

The Sierra is a 1993cc pinto, 5 speed box and also RWD, rescued from a breakers as a chassis/body and recommissionsed for less than £500 inc purchase price. Tax exempt due to the age of the original donor vehicle its just cheap motoring.

Check the Dutton Owners Club gallery pages for the rest of the 'flock'. he made quite a few different ones over the years.

Hmmm... Two, who said I only had two ?

I have two Legerra's, the Sierra and a Phaeton series 4, the other two are off road.

Hi Dan. :hiya:

It was Duke that prompted me with a text message, its good to know most of the gang is still around and I'm sure if they ever make a server that works we'd all be back on it PDQ.
