    Hello all, this is something new I'm trying, suggested by Tool. I show what I'm working on in here so you get to know who I am and what process it takes for my cars to get to you. What I have for show in this thread is actually an old project of a friend of mine (VENOM) This was a Ferrari F50 that he had started modeling oh... 2005-2006.

     

    When I was giving my cars over to Tool to work on he mentioned he wanted a good F50. Well I said well that should be easy.. but after much searching I was surprised there was not one. All the ones I had thought of where never finished. So that got me to start looking at my friends F50 and I decided Id start working on it. So here is a first shot of it. This is how it looked when I first started working on it. It was modeled in zmod1, so I had to first go in and remove the edges by hand. I usually do not work on older models, I prefer to start new things. But this one I saw potential in, it was modeled very accurately for the most part, it was just outdated to my new standards. Back when it was being worked on, I modeled the wheels, and engine and was the one who critiqued it for accuracy.

     

    Anyhow I'll show further progress of it later, hope you like the intro though.

      You can't imagine how happy I am.

      This my favorite Ferrari and one of the few Ferraris I like.

      I've always felt frustrated because I couldn't drive the F50 in TDU.

      Good Luck, I really want it as soon as possible.:drool::thumbsup:

        Anyways, Icekid glad you posted the thread. I really love the details you go through to get accuracy. I cannot explain how great this is to do the F50. :cool: Yourself and Venom I should say.

          Indeed the F50 and the Diablo where two iconic legends that TDU was missing. Seems that Ice and Venom will make something to make the F50 maybe come to tdu as well. I personally would replace the slot that holds my Ferrari Enzo. As I like the F50 a lot more. And Ice and Venom making a fantastic job. All the details even the tiny onces are there its AWESOME!

            Sorry man, guess I asked that a bit too early lol

             

            Just my opinion but it should replace something equivalent to the McLaren F1, I'd probably go with the Enzo.

            Hello all, Glad you guys like what you see so far. I have more to show today. The edge removal is finished at this stage and the breakdown began. I detached the doors and hoods. I decided to focus on the chassis body. As I said it already had an engine and I plan to keep it since it does the job. The main thing I had to do for the body was I had to make it a single smoothing group car. Which means no detached parts or other multi smooth groups on the car. To accomplish this I had to put a lot of chamfers and cuts on the mesh. Once that was done I started work on the inner workings of the car.. These are kind of a waste for TDU but since I detached the doors I decided to detach the front hood to. I modeled a good representation of how it looks by following pictures.

             

            The rear engine hood was inaccurate so I had to remove a large section of it and and redo it. Same for the front hood it was 95% there in accuracy, however the front was too high, so I used FFD tool to lower it. The other thing I tweaked was the front bumper, the openings were not round enough and also not correct shape. The Indicators have also been updated, much more detailed. Well thats it for now, I'll have more updates probably tomorrow

              Woahhh... I think I just fell off my chair. Thats some fantastic progress. I can't believe my dream to have a high poly F50 is becoming a reality after so many years. :D:D:D

              I loved driving the F50 in NFS II SE and NFS HP2, didn't like the Spyder version in High Stakes :(

                ohhhh.... very, very nice! but if i may, (even though as tool stated, it is too early to think about such things) everyone wants to drop the enzo for the F50, but why not one of the off-brand cars that no one really knows, i mean the game already has the F40 and F60 (enzo) so why not complete the family? I mean come on, would it not be brilliant to have the F40, F50, and F60 all lined up right next to each other?

                 

                Just food for thought :P

                  We don't really know what it actually replaces yet, the Enzo was just an idea.
