Random Locations

Yeah this kinda bugs me when I browse the forum. I see a lot of people with locations that are not in or are no where near the flag they specified! For example, let's say there is a user on TDUCk who typed "NYC" as their location. The flag under their name is...let's say...Russia. I always see something like this and I was wondering if it is a site issue, or is it the user's fault? :confused:

It's mainly the user's fault i guess. I find it annoying, but i reckon most do it to be different?

Some people live in a different country than they come from, and put in the flag of their home country rather than the one they live in. That's my guess at least.

That. Some people put their flags depending on wheter they like the look of it or not.

What I have noticed though is that a lot of new people have UK flags, no matter what their location says, like it's enabled by default. :confused:

Yes UK is the default. Maybe I should change it to something out there and people might notice and want to change it.

I change my flag to match my avatar colours, generally. Most people know which country I reside in, and if you don't it shouldn't make a great deal of difference anyway.

I'd like to say that Czechoslovakia doesn't exist. After 1993 it is Czech Republic and Slovakia.
