Need help with riding a bike!! Please

I've only driven cars so far but then accepted a bike-transport challenge. I am supposed to ride the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R to a destination but I cannot figure out how to turn at an acceptable radius. :confused: I tried both keyboard control as well as my G27 wheel but while the character and bike lean to the side they do only turn ever so slightly.. impossible to take any turns like this, I have a 10mile turning circle!! How to I get the bike to take sharp corners?!?

 

I tried different speeds and gears, leaning forward, leaning backward, nothing changes the almost non-existing turning angle!

 

Am I missing something or is the challenge bugged????

I actually find driving bikes easier than cars. From my experience:

- the slower you drive, the sharper your turns will be

- the faster you drive, the wider the turns will be

I figured out what the problem was ... the steering bars sensitivity was all the way down to 0%.. apparently the "bars" setting is for the bike! I moved it to 100% and now the bike turns even sharp corners.

Once you get used to them, bikes are much better than cars.

 

That said, this is probably the only game in which I think that.

 

A lot of it lies in the controller you use - I find the xbox 360 controller a hundred times better for racing games than the keyboard - as when you press the keyboard button's it either 'on' or 'off' whereas with triggers you can have all the values in between depending on how hard you pull. Makes huge changes to the way the vehicles steer and accelerate.

 

The main advantage is that unlike nearly all of the cars in the game, bikes have grip - and lots of it. I don't think any of my bikes has ever skidded in the game - something that can't be said for the cars.

 

You just have to get used to the fact that when going fast, you have to brake earlier for corners than you would in a car, and often you need to steer a lot harder than you would in a car.

 

Once you get used to it though... it makes the cars look bad. No matter what the performance numbers are compared to the cars of the game, you can win any race with the MV agusta [watever it's called] F4 ... tamburini I think the name is (?) - tune it all the way and your oppositon will be left behind you on the horizon. I once lapped everybody except the guys in 2nd and 3rd place with it :)
