No Ferrari 458 in Xbox 360 TDU2??

Reasons unknown apparently, but given that Forza 3 is the only Xbox 360 game to feature the 458 my guess would go in that direction.

Confirmation here.

PC and PS3 will both feature the car, just in case that wasn't obvious enough from the above.

We do however get a Spyker C8 which won't feature in the other 2 versions as a consolation. Galopin couldn't give the specific model though.

Here's to hoping the licensing crap gets sorted out and the XBox gets the 458, and in turn the PC and PS3 get the Spyker.

Now this is something that I feel is legitimately bad on Eden's part. If you are going to do this sort of this, at least tell us. Don't put it on the car list and then conveniently forget to tell us it isn't in the game. I've been very much against the amount of complaining that happens on this board, but I feel this is one of the few legit complaints, if the car list wasn't a disappointment enough now there are cars that aren't in certain versions that we were told were. I wonder what other surprises await us?

Tbh, I wouldn't lay the blame so much at Eden's door, this is an Xbox specific problem and with Forza 3 being the only 360 game to feature the 458, and the 458 being used to show off Forza 4 I fear MS have an agreement to keep it Forza Motorsport exclusive on this platform.

As I said this is a theory, more specifically my theory. Please feel free to contribute any other ideas.

That's true, though it seems to be a lack of money on Eden's part, especially with the absence of Lambo. The problem I see is that they obviously have a contract with Ferrari to blacklist Lambo, and you'd think any decent businessman would squeeze all the Ferraris into all versions of the game with that kind of contract. I probably wasn't going to buy a 458 anyway, but it's disappointing since this was something they told us would be in the game, and wasn't. There isn't much that they 100% confirmed that we won't be getting, and they never even told us until we had the game in hand.

This is why we need somebody with the wealth of a sheik to unconditionally donate a bit to Atari and Eden to prevent this stuff from happening. What's next, we gonna have to change the name of a TDU2 location because Forza or GT are going to use that name too?

C8 or something similar almost sounds like a C12 LaTurbie which does look a lot like the C8. Or perhaps that LM85 edition of the old C8

tbh, as tom said, I imagine this is M$s fault, the 458 being used to promote Forza 4 probably results in the same deal as what there was with the 5.2 R8, which was exclusive for quite a while around forza 3's launch, ah well, i'm getting it for PC anyway :p

I can't agree, this lays on Edens hands. There is absolutely NO reason what so ever not to say 3 months ago, "Due to licensing issues the 458 will not be present in the XBOX version of TDU2 and will be replaced with X". Leaving it on the car list was a huge fault. Let's be honest, Eden is going to sell the most game for 360 and this is not the way to treat customers.

I can't agree. It's not eden's fault if T10 has the 458 as console exclusive. The fact that they could have told us earlier, is true though.

It's cheap to not mention it I agree but Microsoft making other games on their own platform inferior to the versions on their competitors hardware is what's so wildly stupid. The two games don't even compete. Again, assuming I'm on the right trail.

Announcing it's absence would undoubtedly have hurt 360 sales vs PS3, something MS would not have wanted either.

There is imo more than one demon here.

It's a bit stupid saying "you're not getting this Ferrari so we are giving you a non-Ferrari to make up for it." I mean a compromise could have been to throw another Ferrari into the mix then when things have hopefully been worked out (unlikely?) put them back in for free. If it is M$ causing it then I agree with what you are all saying and it makes the idea of going to the PS3 much more a matter of stopping this crap.

However despite this I honestly wonder what's going on in the heads of those who make these decisions. *shakes head*

Why show videos and media of cars that are not going to be in all versions of the game without even telling anyone? It's ridiculous. I can only hope Eden dump Atari and find themselves another publisher because as I see it Atari are just one screw up after another and they'll never learn.

Shame it's not in the Xbox version but I'm sure I'll live.

yeah, i'm pretty sure they're the only (if not one of very, very few) in-house studio atari has left, after they sold a number of other studios, including the krome, who made the PSP and PS2 versions of TDU. If I remember correctly, eden was actually up for sale at that point too.

Anyway, even if Eden could jump ship, atari owns the Test Drive name

i understand theres probably not much atari could do about this situation but really? 4 days before launch we get told this? and to make it all better they give us a non ferrari car that nobody really cares about in comparison? by this i mean the 458 is a brand new car with a ton of hype surrounding it whereas the spyker does not. I'm sure they have an F car in the line up some where for DLC. why not pull it out of the line up for us 360 owners? that would have been a better counter weight in my opinion

That's just stupid. Because if you want PC/PS3 version of TDU2 and you didn't pre-order the game with Casino Online bonus, the only Spyker left in game is... Peking to Paris.

Dang, I forgot about C12 Zagato. But still, that's stupid, because Zagato is soo ugly noone will drive it.
