Racer_S made this great tool in 2 weeks. Atari couldn't implement in game this features in 2-3 years! If only we could use it online

I have and will continue to use this online. Let them try to ban me for using features that should have been in this game from the beginning. Now that is has TrackIR I will ALWAYS have it on.

Now together with support for FaceTrackNoIR this hack is a must have. Great thanks Racer_S! I used your GTA ViceCity hack when modeling my Saab9000 model. Great stuff, made in-car camera very much possible. Too bad that hack didn't work for me lately (not sure what is missing) but I have moved on anyway :)

Perhaps Racer_S or someone else could ask Eden if they are OK with this mod online? It sure adds great deal of value to the game and I would love to always use it online. Eden doesn't have to officially approve it - they could just hint that they will not intervene if people choose to use this view altering add-on.

They have already made a statement....

Question: Camera Hack is Allowed?

GMDestra

It's considered an at-your-own-risk sort of thing. Modifying your files can put you at risk of being identified for hacking, though each modification is different and thus we can't give a statement on each specific one. The bottom line is - it's preferred that you don't, but if you do, recognize that its at your own risk and forbidden by the terms of use.

We understand that modification was a huge community driver in the original TDU and may change our stance when these modifications are better understood, but for the moment, none are officially supported.

Fantastic work Racer. I bought TrackIR 5 just after Christmas and love the fact you have been able to implement it into TDU2 with this tool. I am really really tempted to use this but I would absolute hate for my account to get banned, that's the only thing.

I will certainly consider it anyhow. TrackIR and those view changes will make my experience far more enjoyable as I love to cruise around usually sticking to road rules for the most part and being able to tilt my head without using the mouse to move the view is a great help especially at junctions to see oncoming traffic. :D

Its great mod and enhances the game very well but it is not something worth risking your profile being banned though ;)

1st, thank you sooo much for this perfect & very useful feature !!

That's a BIG "in your face" to the "We listen to our community" that Atari is so easy to give to us... TrackIR support, moving the cockpit camera, uncheck move-to-Apex camera, strangely things that have been asked QUITE A LOT during the beta, and not listened to...

I do like very much the hard work Eden have put through cockpit view, details are really nice & cool, appart from what has been long asked above and some more details that make it almost unusable...

Is making great features ingame just enought ? Isn't not thinking of them used ingame a bit odd ?

I have the feeling that it's exactly the same for blinkers.

Eden devs seem fed up about people complaining that the blinkers are stupid (for the record : no blink sound, no repetitors in cockpit view, the cool one that have been polished) : "What ? We (Eden) listened to you asking for this, now you upmost want it useful ingame ? Greedy client !!" Cockpit view is just like blinkers. You have it ingame, it seems polished, but when users find that it's flawed, devs are offensed (upset, vexed... pick up yours !).

I'm wondering if devs are getting enought time to test their developpements... Maybe asking the Community, THEN listen to it could be a solution (grin)

I have a little question : how come that the hood camera gets more "vibrations" than the cockpit one ? It seems like the inner view has very few "shock feature". Maybe just my 2 cents feeling...

Once again, Modders, thank you to listen from 1st episode to the playing ones ;)

Hi everyone,

First I'd like to thank Racer_S for this essential mod! Wonder why TDU2 devs removed this feature from the previous game...

I tried the mod offline and it works fine, but I play mostly online...

I've read Atari's statement saying that "using this mod online is at our own risks" (Test Drive Unlimited 2 Forums - View Single Post - Camera Hack is Allowed?) and that it might be considered as a cheat (as it works like other "cheating trainers"), resulting in account banning.

My opinion is that Atari doesn't want to be involved in community modding, and will surely not officially allow and/or support (free) mods, as good and useful as they could be. I think (again, IMO..) this statement is thus more a kind of "legal disclaimer" in case accounts get hacked or computers burst into flames while using a modded tdu2. If you remember the first tdu, Atari didn't exactly strive to get rid of cheaters...

It would be really helpful if Camera Hack ONLINE users could report any connexion issue, account flagging or banning, so the community knows if it's safe to play online.

Thank you in advance for your contribution!

I have been using it online since v1.1, and have since updated to v1.2 and still I haven't had any problems, whether im cruising about, in my club, or even racing others online :)

If I do get banned (which i'll be furious if I do) then ill let you guys know :)

The only issue I found with it so far was that when I was in the Casino. I tested it on and off. But when it was on I was playing a private sit and go poker game with a friend(also using the mod) It would black screen when leaving the table, forcing you to restart TDU 2.

Not a big deal really as you don't need it while your at the Casino anyway so I just turn it off if I plan on going there and turn it back on when I decide to go back on the road.
