Bored with TDU2 already. Why?

the problem with tdu 2 for me is, that driving is not the priority of the game

because of the arcade psychics, eden had the focus to make it a lifestyle game

and not a race and cruise game now you need to your hair buy some clothes and plastic surgery

and these things are not necessary for a racegame and also the carlist is very bad, common people where

are the lamborgini's masarati's corvette's lexus and the sedan's like the mercedes cls

and i don't know how eden get there sounds of the cars because they are rubbish

in tdu1 you had a better carlist and a better focus on driving, so now i i'm back in tdu1 because

i missed it, tdu2 is done for me  i was really exited for this game

but eden and atari ruined it,

also this game is not a great success, and they say we have listened to the tdu community

but they did not ..

the best thing what eden and atari can do for the community is release all the files

and giving the game to the community so that we can do what we want in tdu2

like making better sounds, better psychics more cars, and more

this is my opinion

sorry for my english btw :o

Too arcadey. Why? Handling physics (already mentioned). I know this is no simulator but TDU1 felt way better. Many in this thread really specified the off-road, acceleration and speed facts already ;)

Too childish: They eliminated important features like the blur and specially bugging me many map filter options to add too much social aspects, forgetting about the most important thing here: racing and driving. TDU1 felt more real, more "adult" if you know what I mean. And then you sum F.R.I.M. with it's intro "intallation video" and back flaming on all cars to completely make the game arcadey and childish.

For example: today I was on C.R.C. and there was a guy without shirt and with the valet hat. Is that what you expected from a racing/cruising game and TDU2??

I really have to go. I'll keep writing later

Does anybody get the bug where Tess would shout (just as you enter a speed challange) "Today we will be flying through the course at 300mph..." Wait what ? 300mph ?! WTF First time I heard it I was like I must have heard it wrong and it must me km/h but its not. Maybe because my game is set to MPH ? I duno but its weird :/

I think most of the people whine about everything because they were expecting a simulator. Well it's definitely not a simulator. Neither was TDU1. It has always been more about the lifestyle around the exotic cars than the realistic racing. I think the developers wanted many things that are in TDU2 to TDU1 (for example; remember the hidden carwash). This time they just put them in. If TDU1 would have had these features like walking out of your car, everyone would have been like 'omg the best game ever' and when TDU2 came out nobody would have said anything about them focusing on the social aspect of the game too much.

They wanted to make a racing game that differs from the mainstream. They succeeded. Once they'll fix the servers this game will hopefully keep me entertained for as long as TDU1.

I agree with all the above and I shall add another vote for physics.

I played TDU1 in Hardcore mode all the time as soon as I unlocked it. TDU2 feels like I'm driving a block of wood in comparison. I'm getting used to it now though, and I still like cruising about and doing silly paintjobs on my cars. I've only completed as far as the A4 championship though, and don't have much enthusiasm to do any more.

Take it slow, I rushed it, did them all + all the challanges and now im bored lol

Only good thing left is cruising and so on but with a keyboard its not very pleasant... sigh* :(

G27 soon hopefully, but they need to patch out the clutch issue.

The reason the physics are so different from TDU1 is they have added weight and inertia. You can no longer go 100MPH into a 90° corner without spinning out. The main problem is still the braking and all cars suffer from massive under-steer and over-steer. If they turn down the under and over-steer a bit this would help.

After playing tdu 1, I don't even want to play nor look at tdu 2 again.

I am glad I still got my copy of the game.

1.The fact that the indicators look cheap

2.Vehicle models look unfinished.

3.No sense of real speed or challenge.

4.Annoying interior music

5.Sticker shop bug

6.Random phone calls

7.Tess wintory

I've got bored of it, too many promises too late.

A lot of this should of been dealt with a long time prior to the release.

Im fed up of its instability online, be it on the roads or casino, I know they said they will fix this but its just too late as most people are saying.

TDU 1 was a great success, TDU 2 is just astonishingly unprepared. I wouldnt expect this from such a company.

Its like Fifa without a ball.....

Absolutely gutted TDU fan :(

i wouldn't say bored, more annoyed.

ive gone back to tdu1 simply coz its a better drive, i tried sticking it out with tdu2 but as said before there is arcade and theres rubbish, look at forza, you can drive that with 1BUTTON, how much more arcady can you get, but for the people that actually want to drive you can turn the assists off, then at least you feel like you driving it.

tdu2 had the potential to be one of the best games ever made but they fell at the first hurdle.

if they done a total rework of the physics (or lack of) i mite pick it up again but the way i feel at the moment is (and i cant believe im saying this after how much i liked the first one) the best thing about tdu2 is the box it came in.

its probably my own fault for having sky high hopes. This is by no means a bad game, its just no where near the same feel as the original. This is entirely due to the physics. the problem is as others have stated, every car feels the exact same.

i haven't played in probably 2 weeks since i beat it. (partly because my save corrupted yet again) besides the physics, i have had problems with how my friends' cars sound when cruising, it is quite terrible.

Things that could save this game for me:

a new physics mode like the original hardcore mode.

tons more cars, this game was severely lacking in that department for me.

and as we all know, lamborghini. This game was sort of doomed for me with the announcement that they would be absent.

Just thinking about all this makes me want to pop TDU1 back in and enjoy a cruise in my Murcielago

Yea. Although I'd much rather if they had put in a Ferrari instead of the Camaro to give it that 'exotic' feel.

Yeah. Everyone's nailed the things that make TDU2 boring. Also, in future patches, PLEASE kill the Driving School Aston Martin...please.

I joined a club and found that it didn't work half the time and communication between club members is non-existent unless you're in the club, have an instant messenger open or are in the actual race. This means you can't appologise if you've missed their invitation or want to give a reason why you aren't accepting it etc. This has annoyed me to no end.

I find the single player challenges to be a complete grind now, I've got no will to finish them at all, it's all too samey and I absolutely loathe the Eliminator races because they just go on, and on, and on around boring circuits. I usually end up falling asleep and crashing half way through every one.

There are too many immature people playing who just want to crash in to you for the sake of it, I knew as soon as they mentioned damage would be included in the game that rammers would be a continuous problem. There's no way of stopping them from doing it, like if they're going a certain amount faster than you they should just drive straight through you. Yeh, blocking them. Fantastic. So I can only get rid of them after my car has been damaged, what good is that.

Club races when they work. I've only experienced crap in those as well. People cutting corners big time, why even bother racing? Bugger off somewhere else. Rammers in races as well, as soon as they see me inching ahead everyone immediately seems to use P.I.T. menouver on me or my club members because they can't win (or try to win) a race fairly. I know it happens in other games but I've never known it as bad as it is in Test Drive Unlimited 2.

The car list isn't that big, the patches don't seem to do anything at all, the user-base seems for the most part (from my point of view) immature (see TDU2.com forums and general ingame nonsense for reference), the single player side is too repetitive, too many cheaters, too difficult to earn money to buy anything decent, the Casino doesn't reward enough and the Club hardly ever seems to work.

I was playing the game solidly every day for the first week or so, then my activity went down an extremely steep cliff and I have hardly played the game since. I've returned to Counter Strike... again.

I want to play it and love it but I can't.

couldn't agree with you more.

Have to say the annoying t**ts would eventually leave the game after a year or so. That's what happened with tdu1 anyway nowadays it's brilliant as in terms of average iq being over 50. There's one way to dodge them , when they're coming for you pause right before the crash. They go mental it's so fun. I checked the casino thing today they want something like $12? I mean bad enough they charged 30 quid for this drivel and they want more for the casino.

One thing worth remembering is this: the PC version's launch of TDU was 6 months of development on top of a game which was availible on 360 6 months prior, The 360 version was almost as broken as TDU2 is now. Whilst PC gamers will remember hardcore mode being in off the bat, the 360 version had to wait until april (ish) for that, there was also a tweak to the regular handling (it became more grippy, like TC was forced on).

The team will be hard at work and there is a chance that the pysics can be salvaged, just like before.

The servers have taken my dislike of this game to another level this evening. They are wholly useless. Escaping idiot rammers is impossible, the game just puts you back in the same server over and over again. I joined a friend to cruise and time and time again I was removed from the server and placed into a new one with players who were even further away from me than those I was previously with. It is a hopeless mess.

I'm only freeriding to pass the time until I can do the other parts of the gaming still awaiting fixes.

Please Atari/Eden for the love of god fix the game flaws and step back from the money glitches, they are not what is ruining this game. Just how fast can a player base drop off?

/rant.

Sorry, move if necessary.

I hope you won't be proven wrong. Though I'm afraid that will cost us. It's more like a charity even right now. The team is living in poverty.

Isn't the point of the game after you complete all challenges + singleplayer "campaign" to cruise and such ?

If so that is not possible after you get disconnected from your partner like 50 times in 10 minutes... I have purely given up on this, im bored to death, i was pretty much FORCED to do the challenges in order to level up, I had no fun in doing them what so ever, (after challenge 10/100 they got repetitive and boring) and now most people I meet online are so stuck up or don't speak english or would think its cool to ram me once and head off to somewhere without saying sorry or anything...

This is not a game. Its a Work In Progress. I have found countless bugs in it, I am not able to list all since I really cba. Main thing that bugs me is why the heck does the zonda cinque and tricolore have the wrong rims ? The rear wheels should be "deepdish" style with a lip of arond 12.5-13 inches ? The Zonda F roadster kind of has it.

Also when you move at a certain angle you can see the "dirty" texture coming apart from the wheel on both the Cinque and the Tricolore. No other car but just them two.. This game is so rushed that the bugs are just countless and no point to be picked out.

It should be totally re-done, or you ll need about 50 patches to fix it up.

TDU1 here I come again.... :)
