GTAIII 10th Anniversay (New Vid)

Recommended Posts

R* have just announced the 10th anniversary addition of GTAIII.

Available this Autumn/Fall season.

For mobile devices!

Launch Video [NEW]

There's also a cool ltd 'Claude' figurine worth $150 being offered too:

Rockstar Games Social Club

Will be real interesting to see how it ports to a handheld device.

Those of us here who are old enough will remember the original port to PC was less than successful (although still a masterpiece if we're talking in TDU2 terms).

The following devices will be compatible:

  • iPad 1/ 2
  • iPhone 4/4S
  • iPod Tough 4thGen
  • Droid X2
  • HTC Evo 2
  • LG Optimus 2X
  • Motorola Atrix
  • Samsung Galaxy S2
  • Acer Iconia
  • Asus Eee Pad
  • Motorola Xoom
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

This is a bit crappy for Apple users as yet again we have to have the latest device to run it. I know for sure I won't be upgrading my iphone 4 to 4s just for this... even if it is a bit tempting. Well unless my local provider offers some good deals in the near future.

Screens and updates to follow, when they're available.

As ever keep tuned to GTAGaming.com, as they'll be the first with the updates

No standard iPhone 4 :(

Looks like if I want to play GTA III again I'll just have to install it on my computer.

I remember when a friend brought his PS2 and brand new copy of GTA III over and I instantly wanted the game more than anything else. Good times.

Some of the videos I've seen of it in action on the iPad 2 left a lot to be desired in my opinion. Controls looks pretty rubbish/clunky, looks good but plays pretty poor. Glad it isn't coming to the standard iPhone 4 otherwise I may have wasted some money.

Launch vid in OP

GTA III Anni' just came out a few days ago!

And it works on the standard iPhone 4... and only £2.99

Seems to have worked pretty well so far. Controls take a little to get used to, but that's just endemic of touchscreen games imo.

It will never be as good as the original felt when it first came out. However it is awesome to play it again.

Here's a few shots of my first foray (albeit de ja vu) into Liberty City:

I love the Mafia Sentinel

I bought it today as well. FPS is slightly iffy but can't expect too much on a mobile device, still impressed they managed to get such a game onto mobile devices, I remember when I had to upgrade my computer to get this game to run on it back when it was released on PC, lol.

I agree with the controls, especially when driving, I seem to be able to turn left fine but I always somehow miss the button to turn right. I tried steering using the accelerometer but that seemed a bit 'floaty'.

Definitely going to be playing it a lot though. It'll keep me off Pool and a drag racing game I've been playing after working my way up to having a 1080HP Zonda R :p
