Skiing

I'd like to ask you guys. Do you like skiing or snowboarding?

I am living in polish mountains called Karkonosze, so I am a skier since I was five.

This year I bought myself a GoPro camera, so I will record few videos running on slopes.

Here's a Czech Republic skiarea called Horni Domky in Rokytnice nad Jizerou and my recording.

What about you? :D

I'm a snow blader, so a skier.

What are snow blades? Think ski's that are 1/3 the size of a normal one, and you dont use poles. Great for nipping about the place.

See near enough no one using them where I ski, and often have people asking what they are or why am i useing kid's ski's! Great fun to use as can gain some speed and easly move around & do jumps(I liken them to being a Lotus Elise! ).

Planning on heading to Europe soon to try the runs there, as my dad says them make the ones in Scotland(have 5 different ski centres) look like a joke!

Also, maybe put the GoPro on the center of the helmet? My neck hurts. :p

Yep, more videos to come. Camera will be centered for sure :D And some better perspectives, more landscape ones.

Karkonosze? Krkonoše, my neighbour.

:D

Your skiing style seems to be very good.

Well, I am sking since child, so a lot of experience. But to honest, I regret that I didn't go to ski-school :) I've never been to Janské Lázně, but I heard that it is cool out there. I will try someday for sure.

I hate mountains, so I'm not an expert what's the best place to ski. However, I can send you a contact to a new pension that our friends and sister's BF have built if you are planning to go there. ;)

Have never gone up in the mountains during Winter since I'd have to get chains for the wheels and drive everywhere at 40kph.

Ry, snow chains are for pussies. We've put them only once on our cars since... 1996? :susp:

Yes, but unlike you European's, we don't get snow in low lying, flat areas. We have to drive really high up in tall mountains to find a little bit of snow. Some of the roads are so steep you can barely make it with chains.

One of my uncles went up to the snow with his family a few years ago, they fitted special snow tyres and chains just for the trip and their car still went off a cliff because it couldn't get traction and slid down a hill. It's just lucky they all got out of the car in time or they would probably all be dead.

It seems that it is just 56,4km away from my house, so I will probably go there just for a one day, but thanks :)

Today I was again in Rokytnice. This time with my 2 mates. Weather was not good though. Two gopro movies below if you're interested :D
