How to keep DLC cars i got free?

Hi, some days it appears we can buy DLC cars in TDU2 for TDU money, not for tokens, i want to ask how to keep them?

Because first time when i restarted game, cars was lost (replaced by Mustang) and i got message that DLC hack was detected...

So any idea on how to keep these free DLC cars?

Thanks

----

Update: it can be achieved by playing with savegame files.

I experienced this too.

To be honest, i hope they drop the DLC lock already. Is buggy, is hard to buy and since they slaughtered Eden Games i don't feel like giving money to Atari.

Seriously, as a press member i was there when the hype engine was at full force, i played at least three builds and wrote 2 articles + a 30 min. review in our podcast, but then the game came out, it recieved so-so scores (i LOVED the game so scored it highly) and Atari just abandoned it, i also remember the mess the game were before that, and never believed (and still don't believe) it was Eden Games fault. If Atari had any intention to support the game since its launch, we wouldn't have seen that HORRIBLE DLC management, the debacle that was nearly every update and we wouln't have been almost alone in the forums. Heck, i even applied to be a Community Manager for the game.

So, if this bug becomes more than that or is proof that Atari is about to free the DLC i'll be happy, i'm not supporting the game anymore in the sense that i must keep legal and i must keep the game files untouched. I'm not stealing anything, but i'm modding the heck out of it and not using Uplauncher anymore. I promoted the game, i bought the game even when they gave me PC and 360 versions for free, i bought all the DLC i could before buying Atari Points became a chore that required a Paypal Account that forces me to wait 1 week before i can use my credit and i used their support ticket system before they stopped answering.

Eden Games earned my money, but they don't exist anymore, so i hope this becomes more than a bug.

I agree, the signs were there and were pointed out long in advance but it did feel like Atari were calling the shots and we saw what that has done in the past. It truly defies disbelief how they manage to screw up without learning from their mistakes. When myself and Fabien were so kindly allowed to go to Eden and playtest the game it was obvious where the flaws were and we both brought them up. The handling we spoke about and asked the questions fans of the game were wanting to know and were told; handling between arcade and simulation, all dials would be working and saw Lamborghini models and was given the nod they were in. Then came the Beta and what can we say about that, there was a ton of feedback given, some of it was taken onboard but virtually everything regarding the handling was left alone. It's as if someone was basically saying to them "it's fine, work on the other stuff".

Being a mod on the TDU2 and atari forums it doesn't fill you with confidence seeing many Community Managers passing through in a short time, and in all honesty 'Destra' was a saint for what he had to put up with and was severely wasted at Atari. He actively tried to get involved and pass on the feelings and feedback of the community but I bet it just stayed Unread on someone's inbox or left on a desk or something in a folder.

It pains me really to see how it got so bad for the sequel to this game, it should have been a way of printing money for them but with Atari it's always easy to predict the worse and then get totally abysmal back in return. It would be funny if it didn't people losing their jobs and such, and I'm talking about the workers mainly here not the higher-ups who get a cushy payout no matter what state the company is in.

Atari Inc (North American) are out of bankruptcy, their parent Atari SA (Europe) are not doing well but they have good licenses and the Atari 'brand' that still sells well to people though I'm confused with this as I'm sure it's Atari Inc who have most of those licenses. So what the hell is going to happen from now? It's anyone's guess!

Yeah, i remember Destra's dedication. For me, that and how it seemed that he was ignored was definitely a sign of how things had already gone from bad to worse.

TBH Test Drive Unlimited 2 was my first TDU, i was already fond of the Test Drive series but got my - barely gaming friendly - PC just in time for TDU2 an got really excited, and when i became a press member and Namco Bandai sent me a mail with a beta version of the game my hype went to the clouds, only to get crushed when the game started to die slowwwwwwwwwwwwwly after launch. Seriously, somehow the game had issues that the beta versions i played hadn't (handling, connection issues that weren't there before launch, bugs...)

I still love it (i wouldn't play it if i don't) but i get so sad every time i think on it situation that i'll be seriously happy if they kill it already, unlocking the DLC for the sake of allowing people to fully enjoy it, the only issue i have with the game dying is the servers closure, but i'll trust the modding community in that one.

To be honest the original TDU was well liked for some time even after Atari stopped supporting it due to being a great game to chill with and just drive or race in. TDU2 would have been the same if the handling was even remotely fun, however for many and I'm not saying all, the handling completely kills the game for them. 95% of my TDU2 playtime is the Casino because when I get onto the road I can't bear it for even 5 mins before I have to stop and do something else.

Well, i don't exactly understand why you say that TDU2 handling isn't fun, maybe it's because i didn't play the original TDU but for me it certainly is. My time with the game is well distributed, can't give percentages but i know i've spent a few hundred of hours cruising by Ibiza and Oahu.

Then i HIGHLY recommend to play first TDU and you'll understand what its all about TDU2 physics are not realistic at all when the car lose traction you get a massive wheelspin and you're most likely to spin out

It's not so much they aren't realistic as TDU wasn't exactly real-life it's that they aren't very good for a driving and racing game, they make it hard to truly enjoy the cars. Drive slow and steady and this won't show but many people used TDU as a breather between their racing games. Usually speeding along the coast, powersliding and drifting round the racetrack and twisty roads or just performing random jumps on the motorbikes. It was easily one of the most thrilling and relaxing games where you could do these things in a large open-world environment. :D

Jump onto the PC with a good wheel and it was even better, proper FFB, clutch and shifter support and a feeling that the car had weight (except moon gravity in Hardcore Mode).

The best way to sum the two games up is; TDU was great to drive in despite the dodgy roads, whereas TDU2 has great roads but dodgy driving.

I'm still failing to understand. TDU2 is not the only racing game i played in my whole life (nor the only one i'm currently playing either) and i don't find the physics nor the driving model bothersome or uncomfortable.

Is the same as in the official forums, everyone complaining here and there and i just playing like the game intends me to play. Maybe is the same as controller layouts, wich have people complaining all over the place and i can play effortlessly with a Dual Shock-like controller, an Xbox 360-like controller or even using a Wii remote as a steering wheel.

Sure, the handling isn't the same as in the builds i got as press, in fact the cars tend to glide more and you have to be more careful, but if you can't adapt to the game why do you play it? Is not like it's unplayable.

You're right, it's just not fun to play for us. You're not going to change the vast number of people who feel this way by saying it's fine for you. And that's fine if you like it and sure there are people who do too but for the most part the handling of the game is regarded as well below-par, and this is for all demographics from arcade to those who are more of a simulation preference. :)

Right from the outset it was clear that this mob (the devs) were out to create a lifestyle game, and not a driving one. In the dev diaries video they explained their decision making process in choosing the next location for, Ibiza, because of it's party atmosphere. Nevermind picking a location that looks awesome, has great driving roads... nope, just a geographically boring, small island, with a road network that mainly goes up through the middle of it instead of circling the perimeter like O'ahu did.

Sure it may have been playable but then plenty of FPS games have playable driving physics as well (if not better). They knew what we all wanted (the TDU1 forums were overflowing with feedback, ideas, suggestions, etc), they had a decent base (code-wise) to build on, but they discarded the VRally/TDU1 driving model to try and replicate the one found in GRID (which imo was worse anyway and didn't suit open-world cruising), and they failed.

I played TDU because I liked driving, and in TDU2 that was just about the only part of the game they failed to deliver on. No matter though, the TDU1 team are working on The Crew, we've seen evidence of steering wheel support and heard that Hardcore mode will be there again; this will be the true sequel for me.

Again, the same as in the official forums. I got tired of replies like this one (if you like it it's fine, but you are wrong) years ago.

Wasn't there mods for the handling? Would you kindly link me to any mod that replicates the TDU1 handling model?

As i've been seeing it all these years, i'm able to handle almost any driving model in driving games, last time i said this was years ago but i wouldn't say that i'm wrong.

Edit because i was being a jerk. I'm seriously sorry.

I wasn't saying you were wrong if you like it, I was saying that there are more people criticising the handling than anything else. Unfortunately modding the physics of TDU 2 is still something that can't be done to a more comfortable level, it's being worked upon but it's clearly not a simple switch.

I'm not a it has to be full-sim and realistic only kind of player, I can take many handling models and have played everything from Pole Position, Ridge Racer, V-Rally, ToCA Touring Cars, WRC, Rally Sport, PGR 2/3/4, Super Mario Kart, NFS I-HP2, GT 1-5, Forza 1-4/Horizon, GTR 1/2, Race Pro and many more so I'm certainly not only interested in just the ONE style. However when the previous game has a definite focus on the driving but the sequel effectively moves away from that, then it's certainly to be expected when people bring it up. And it isn't just the veterans of the series who were saying it, look around at the reviews and you will see the driving being one of the main areas that they talk about in a not so glorified manner.

I got used to TDU2 already (i mean first impressions was terrible, like im playing some stupid 15years old hiphoper game), bad colors, stupid car engine sounds, non real car shapes..

But when tried TDU1 i reallised that NOW i start to treat TDU1 driving little unreal / out of reality.

But to compare 1,2 TDU1 driving i certainly enjoyed more also multiplayer races gameplay was quite dramatically more enjoyable.

My biggest complain as a NON STEERING WHEEL user (im on keyboard) is unreal sounding of car engines and less real looking game overal.

just my impression as a non wheeler.
