Keyboard woes...

So last night I accidentally spilt a bit of water on my keyboard (USB wired). There were a handful of keys that would do something random when I pressed them (like when I hit 'w' it would write 'w2,' or 'backspace' would write '\'. The rest of them were fine.

I figured I'd let it dry off overnight and that would hopefully solve the problem. It didn't. So I took apart the keyboard (bunch of philips head screws) wiped off the water gently with a tissue, put it back together, and now the entire keyboard doesn't work. Nothing happens when the keys are depressed. It shows up in Device Manager as 'HID Keyboard' but there are no yellow ! triangles, it appears to be normal. I know the keyboard is getting power because if I hit any of the lock buttons using another keyboard, it lights up on the defective one.

I also tried using it with another computer at home and got the same results. I'm guessing something went wrong when I put it back together... but it was so simple I'm not sure where I went wrong.

Any suggestions?

OS:

Windows 7 64 bit

Keyboard

Gigabyte GK-K6800

Wired USB keyboard

I should probably also mentioned I tried uninstalling it using device manager, restarting the computer, and plugging it in. Still wouldn't work.

Yeah... I should not have disconnected the plastic 'membrane' that electronically connects all the keys from the tiny breadboard. Somewhere there I messed up the connection between it and the keys. Oh well, looks like it's time to get a new keyboard. It served me well for 4 years. and looks like I can get the same one for about $16 online.
