MEGA Tutorial: add new cars (Slots) in TDU

So I only need the part of the video from 3:20 to 5:00 to learn about adding new rims right?

Hi Jonez.

You'll have to extract "TDU_CarRims", & "TDU_Rims" from your DB.bnk and follow along from that point on for the rims. You'll need the REF # for the car you're adding the rims to, and the REF # for the existing rims.

Like Tob mentioned, the REF # for your new rims must be different (add a number like in the video). Then in your TDUMT DB Resources use any random 8 digit number (that's what I do anyway), insert that number and add for example the RUF RGT: instead of RUF_RGT_F_01 & RUF_RGT_R_01, use RUF_RGT_F_02 & RUF_RGT_R_02. Just follow the video, it's alot easier than it looks . ;) Make sure you back up first just in case.

Yep that's right :) 5 Important steps:

- Copy and paste a rim in TDU_Rims.db.Hex. Save it. Convert it into DB format with TDUUT and put this file back in DB.Bnk using TDUMT. (3:20 to 5:00 in the video)

- Add new values in DB Ressources like Haiku said (5:10 to 7:22)

- Change 3 Values in TDUMT's Database Tool using the values you created in DB Ressources. (10:40 to 13:40)

- Add your new Bnk file to your Game. Make TDU Accept the new files with TDUF. Copy your Bnk Files again and paste it to your game. (14:43 to 18:15 ) Don't bother about the other EXT, INT, SOUND and HUD Bnk files in the video.

- Connect the rims to the car with TDU_CarRims. (18:15 to 20:35)

Note: In the video, I show how to add 2 rims so if you want to add one rims, you need to copy one line in TDU_Rims, add 3 Values in DB_Ressources instead of 6 in the video. And in TDU_CarRims, you need to add only one line. :)

Thanks guys, but here's a tricky one: What if I want to add another rim set for Zoqqer's McLaren P1? The car replaces the McLaren F1 GTR, but the wheels are sourced from MX5_1_F_01 and MX5_F_01 (one for the front wheel, one for the back wheel). If I wanted to add a rim set to this car, can I still just make MCL_F1_GTR_F_02 and MCL_F1_GTR_R_02?

I added mine by renaming the files and manually installing as a new car (slot) using Tob's method, then used TDUMT to install the texture file for the interior.

You can do it either way Jonez, the easiest way for you would be to add "MX5_1_F_02" & "MX5_F_02" since you used the installer. Just locate the MX5 rims, copy & paste the codes, then change the REF #'s . Use the DB resource editor to add the above file names just like in the video ;) Add your new rim files to the existing folder where your 1st set is.

Haiku m8 , it's a awesome what r u doing , but when do u play m8 ? :D Do you have time for playing ? :D

Hi Pator5 !

Yeah I play when time allows & it doesn't take long to add cars. I've been cruising Oahu since the game came out, this is something different to do, something a little more constructive I suppose ;) . But yes I still cruise around quite a bit . :nods:

Thats great m8 thx alot ;)

After my troubles with Zmod, I decided to abandon the Lambo, but it's replacement will make an appearance fairly soon. And the original 3 that I showed, Viper, C4, 911 will return on more 'polished' slots this time. :) Watch this post.

Looking forward to seeing them Krisman !! :nods:
