[TDUF Alpha 12] Database Editor!

Djey

Recommended Posts

So I gave it a try and of course it doesn't work for me. topkek

1. Put the tduf-databaseEditor-ALPHA.6 folder in the main game directory

2. Opened Alpha-DatabaseEditor.cmd

3. Typed DatabaseTool unpack-all -d "D:/GameFiles/Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/Database" -j"D:/tdudb/dump/"

4. Some words appear and goes back to #3

After closing the cmd thing, I can't open it again - it immediately shuts down. All the other cmd things do that as well. I can open Alpha-DatabaseEditor.

Uninstalled and updated Java Runtime as you advised and restarted the computer, too.

All I know is that I probably messed up something.

I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi.

I think you followed quick steps and advanced steps at the same time ;)

Only quick steps are necessary for now.

1. Put the tduf-databaseEditor-ALPHA.6 folder in the main game directory
Nope, just extract downloaded archive onto a new folder (e.g TDUF) onto your desktop.

2. Opened Alpha-DatabaseEditor.cmd
Just open TDUF.cmd script, a command window should appear

3. Typed DatabaseTool unpack-all -d "D:/GameFiles/Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/Database" -j"D:/tdudb/dump/"
Just type Alpha-DatabaseEditor.cmd "D:/GameFiles/Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/Database" instead :)

Hope it helps.

Alpha-DatabaseEditor.cmd "D:/GameFiles/Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/Database"

should have produced a log file (Alpha-DatabaseEditor.log) with more details, please paste or attach it to your reply.

Thanks, Djey. Now I have the json folder with the unpacked DB files, but it won't launch the GUI editor.

Alpha-DatabaseEditor.cmd "D:/GameFiles/Test Drive Unlimited/Euro/Bnk/Database"

should have produced a log file (Alpha-DatabaseEditor.log) with more details, please paste or attach it to your reply.

Here it is. It's unpacked all the files, but I don't know what to do next. Clicking on the cmd files does nothing and typing in the TDUF.cmd does nothing as well.

I'm stupid af.

Strange enough, the app does not seem to like the directory where you extracted the downloaded zip very much :

C:\Users\Mr.Tomáš\Documents\Documents\To Je Moje (Systém nemùže nalézt uvedený soubor)

Please extract TDUF files in another directory (e.g C:\tools\tduf), while I'm seeking for a proper solution :)

 Huge Thanks to Djey. for me this tools is much easy to use than Tduf command-line. :happyroll:

but how to make this works, i need to type and run: Alpha-DatabaseEditor "C:\Program Files (x86)\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Database"

without the last "\".

maybe you will test this command.

Hi, thanks for testing!

Either commands should work :

Alpha-DatabaseEditor "C:\Program Files (x86)\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Database"

OR

Alpha-DatabaseEditor "C:\Program Files (x86)\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Database\"

as they are the same directory.

If nothing happens, issue is elsewhere. Please attach Alpha-DatabaseEditor.log file to see what happens.

Hi,

for security reasons, the tool does not alter original file :)

So:

- make a copy of (or move) original cameras.bin file in another directory

- rename cameras.bin.extended file to cameras.bin (to replace existing in TDU folder).

- set camera set id to 2000 for your slot in CarPhysics

et voila.

ALPHA 10 now released !

  • Initiates database read performance improvements
  • Writes more debugging details in Alpha-DatabaseEditor.log
  • Uses a normalized way to display some application messages in logs
  • Bugfix: same patch instruction would be generated twice (TDUF mini-patch).

Downloads => see first post.

Some time waiting for a miracle that this software will work, but for some reason I have no luck! If you load a base and nothing in it do not change and Packed it back the game will not start! But it is necessary to recover the database from backup and everything works! What could be the problem?

Just to let you know, DatabaseEditor is in ALPHA state no more. It's pretty stable - I'm using it on a regularly basis.

Thus, this thread won't have any release published for now on: DatabaseEditor will be present in next TDUF version (1.0.0).

I let this thread open until then, shall you need support with ALPHA 12.

Thanks for your interest in this piece of wrap :)
