News arrives on Intel Skylake CPUs, with a high end i5-6600K and i7-6700K processor aimed at gamers in the spotlight

+ve's

<> Reasonably priced

<> 14nm, reduces TDP (power consumption, heat generation), allowing higher overclocks

<> 16 PCIE 3.0 lanes, gives you more options for SLI, NVME SSDs, and USB 3.0

-ve's

<> Requires new X170/LGA1151 chipset motherboard and expensive DDR4 RAM

<> These motherboards aren't futureproofed with the PCIE v4 slots expected in 2017

<> Stock speeds are only 10% higher than last year's equivalent.

Also, 10nm Intel CannonLake CPUs are now delayed

Some benchmarkers are suggesting that if you have a good Intel CPU from Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, or Haswell, to stick with that for now.

If you have a less-than-amazing CPU in that series, then maybe you'll be able to get a good deal on a high-end model being phased out. Make sure you check for compatibility first.

Thrustmaster are now selling TX/T300 wheel base products separately. The good news is that you no longer have to waste money on the previously-bundled pedals that were pretty toy-like if you instead intend to go for their prosumer version, which includes clutch pedal.
