SpaceX have finally been able to successfully land their Falcon-9 rocket on a sea platform! After a couple of failed attempts and near successes like when one of the landing legs fell of meaning it fell over they managed to do it.

The landing is from 35:30 onwards in the video but the rest of it is pretty cool to watch too. :nods:

That was really good to see, amazing the progress being made in regards to this area now. When you have the world's governments wanting to fight and in turn reducing the investment in space, it is good to see private industry taking up the challenge and pushing new boundaries.

It's simply amazing that they can design and manufacture something that goes through what a rocket does and can then be re-used! Like with the Discovery space shuttle. But imagine the temps that this thing has to go through.

Iirc they're wanting to re-use parts from this one and not just inspect them.
