Cut the poop Stories.

In most parts of the world what makes a car a "Classic" is not their "architeture". That is actually garbage. What defines a car, a classic, is their age. In many places, even in some classic car clubs, the age is 25 years old. Even so, the NSX was added to the acceptable classic car list. The "Youngtimer" you say, is for cars that have 15 to 20 years, which are old cars too old to just be "old", and not old enough to be a classic.

A classic car is not defined by technology, neither is by their "architecture". That makes absolute no sense at all. Technology can be classic, and those early 1980-tech cars are as much as classics as the analag ones.

Time moves on, and cars that once were not classics, now can be too. And yes, it's age. Not technology. If technology means something, a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham should never be a classic, because it had a lot of tech in it's time.

We're in 2017. 2017 - 25 = 1992. That means, today, 1992 vehicles can be considered classics. You agree with it or not.

Edit: And to make my point valid, in almost anywhere in the world, that has different plates for classic cars, you can get those for a 959, for a R32 Skyline, and even for that 1983 Ford Escort.

Here in Brazil, classic cars are identified by their black license plates, only given to 30+ years old cars, with more than 80% originallity.

And this is a Fiat Uno CS 85, that earned the black plates.

Hum you're wrong, all internationnals classicd races refuses cars later by 1979,

Tour auto => Tour Auto 2017 : parcours + engagés (limited to 1973)

Le mans classics => Le Mans Classic 2018 8 / 07 / 2018 (limited to 1979)

Etc etc etc, after 1980 they call it "youngtimer" everybody know that

Only price of assurance are low when you got a +25 years car, but that not say the car become a classic

And for the fiat uno descrpted as "classic"

In france too, the black plates can be keeped, but only if it a new immatriculation, very very very many have old plates in 80 and 90's cars in france but the new plate system became later by 2000

"we're in 2017. 2017 - 25 = 1992. That means, today, 1992 vehicles can be considered classics. You agree with it or not."

Millis works for an insurrance company !

But she knows nothing in classic cars

Here is the "youngtimer guide" for novices about 80's & 90's cars,

Le guide des Youngtimer : les voitures de sport des annes 80 et 90

in fact, you're maybe alone in the world to consider classics car in 1989, but why this idea, with no reason ?

(plus, F40 is considerated as youngtimer in their professionnal list)

First of all, where did you get the fact that L'automotive sportive is the truth maker? Does that website is what defines what is and what is not a classic? Or even "Tour Auto", an automotive EVENT, keep your eye in the "Event", which means specific rules. So is "Le Mans Classic". It's an event, not a classic car guide. "Le Mans Classic" is not much different of Goodwood Revival, just an event, not a definition.

Drop random links you find on internet, or links from blogs you follow do not make you right. And no, it is not "only" Insurance that gets cheaper or more expensive, go take a read about it.

If you take a read somewhere else, over pretty much any place in internet, you will find the same answer for this question. And the answer is always age. What makes or not a car, a "classic" car is their age. The age may vary from country to country, club to club.

Classic Car Club of America doesn't consider anything after 1948 a classic. But Antique Automobile Club of America considers anything between 25-50 years old to be a classic, and older than 50, it's antique.

Take a read on this or this, if you actually want to read, instead of just type gibberish on this thread.

There is also this link to back my argument up.

You can disagree with it how much you want, you can throw a hissy fit, you can do whatever you feel like, nothing, will change the fact that cars become classics with age. And that age tends to move along as time goes by. One day, a 2017 Bugatti Chiron will be a classic.

Edit: And apparently, i know more than you do. Who refuse to accept that time keeps going on and things change.

Finally, if we look at the list of youngtimerd by the serious website "l'automobile sportive" in here => Le guide des Youngtimer : les voitures de sport des annes 80 et 90

We can see that they put the Ferrari 512 BBi version 1981-1984, it can seems strange but not, because there is not the same "classic architecture",

Ferrari 365 Gt4 BB from 1971 had a 8boxer 4,4L with 4 double carburators (rival Muira)

Ferrari 512BB from 1975 had 8boxer 5,0L with 4 double carburators (rival Muira)

Ferrari 512 BBi from 1981 had 8boxer 5,0L with injection KKK (rival Countach)

And its exactly the same car, but only the 512 BBi 1981 is considerated as "youngtimer"

Same.with the Ferrari mondial 8 from.1981, its in the list because its injection fuel modern, there are not "classic architecture" so they are not G category (classic)

Maybe there will NEVER youngtimer in serious internationnal races like "tour auto" or "le mans classic" because the mecanical of youngtimer will never "classic architecture", they are only "modern architecture/youngtimer" from 80's

;)

So serious website that i never heard about it. Now, seriously, stop embarassing yourself.

Although, tell me how do you know about how Eden studios defined their criteria to make a G class category. You guess it was? You worked with them? How you can be so sure about G classes being defined by "classical architecture"?

The thing you don't understand, that is parts of history in automobile, first they was with carbon and water, after that there was some gazoil, after there was essence, after there was ether, and many many more technologies in times, each car in each technical history, so fiat uno never be a "classic car", believe me bro

So before 1975-1980 (near) there was a time for automobile, and after the Bosch revolution, there was another time to do a motor, a modern motor is not a classic motor, and there will be forever different in the futur, we don't care of passed times, we try to understand what is a real classic car (from the wheels to the carburation) and why it can considerated like a classic or not

Hum I'm not sure about the Eden choice but if the 308 GTS QV (1981) is the last and been G, and the 288 GTO (1984) is a C, they had surely a break between theses two dates :nods:

So in the original game there is a 308 GTS QV 240ch (1981) or a 308 GTS 255ch (1975) ?

Yes DLC or not there was more than 25 years, but its not maybe a reason or a selection criter, 308 is an older car since 1975 and GTO is a new model 1984 for Ferrari

For example they considerate like youngtimer a fiat uno turbo ie 85, but not a fiat panda 1980, interest seems important too but it not give us a solution out of the "25th coincidence" whose maybe not one :para:

Y'all are more than welcome to debate these kind of things on TDUCK as long as you do it in a respectful and less antagonistic way, telling people they're embarrassing themselves or that they have undiagnosed issues is only going to start an argument and force me to waste my time intervening.

If someone can tell me that this 'debate' has some relevance to 'Test Drive Unlimited Ultra Community Pack v1.04' then go ahead and debate it in a more friendly manner, but if it's irrelevant please take it to a new thread or end it here.

Thanks :duck:

I believe that UCP already comes with 1.68b and TDU Megapack. So, what i'd suggest is, in a fresh TDU install, install Project Paradise, and then UCP.

To active the bigbnks, it's in the Project Paradise launcher, there will be a box, all you have to do is mark it.

I downloaded the Community Patch 2.00A, installed it.

Then downloaded Project Paradise (i actually only want to play offline, but its a requirement).

Unpacked the Community Pack v1.04.

Startet the game with the Launcher(Project Paradise) as admin and everything works fine.

Love the cars, thank you Milli and everyone involved!
