Being a dx9 game, it should be possible with 3rd party software, but don't expect head traking in game... Try lookin' for VR softwares for game without native support on google. I used TriDef 3d for some experiments' but my hardware wasn't up to the task.

This guy get it working with head tracking. But the video is not in english, even I cannot understand what he's saying.

re headtracking, use OPENTRACK  https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases  to convert VR HMD yaw, pitch & roll to TrackIR which TDU supports natively.

Or you can

(1) buy https://edtrackerpro.mybigcommerce.com/

or

(2)  build your own cheap headtracker  with software and instructions from http://www.edtracker.org.uk/   and with an eBay or AliExpress sourced Arduino Compatible Pro Micro (ATMega 32U4) - 5V/16MHz and a 5 volt MPU-9250 sensor.  (MPUs 9150 and non-magnetometer variant 6050 will also work) ***

Again,  use OPENTRACK to convert the EDTRACKER 3-axis joystick output format to TrackIR format.

Game works well in Nvidia 3D Vision, especially with an edTracker.

I tried it on my VR HMD, running the VR HMD as  the primary display in extended multi-monitor mode (ie SteamVR Direct mode DISABLED; HMD is treated as just a generic monitor, not a special display device), using ReShade effects "SuperDepth3D"  and "Polynomial Barrel Distortion for HMDs"   https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D/tree/master/Shaders   https://reshade.me/    https://github.com/crosire/reshade/releases ,  but is unstable as the d3d9.dll on TDUPE is custom and is overwritten by the also customised ReShade d3d9.dll  - works fine if you use the original Atari TDU. Game is pretty flat (2D) though using ReShade Depth3D, but the car interiors work well.

Well, I did not delete d3d9.dll, but when trying to launch it tells me it can not be launched as d3dx9_43.dll can not be found.

For everyone who experience the same issue as I have, I have found a sollution. What I did was download and install the files located in the link below. Have not played a lot yet, but cars that were not loading in beforehand, now does. The game does not freeze and close when browsing through rims anymore either. Hope this might be of help to everyone.

Also, I have noticed that the install key / cd key for the megapack in HGCentral's Youtube video on how to install Platinum does not work apparently, so if anyone has a different one, or a particular reason to why it might not work, that would be appriciated (or however you spell it).

I can only see one thing that doesn't satisfy me properly, that is that I almost don't hear the sound of my own motor in the cockpit view and however, I hear pretty much the sound of the motor of other cars. Any way to solve this?

Yes, by remaking and equalizing all the sound mods.  Some vehicles are louder than others, and there is nothing much that we can do about, other than doing what i just said.

For those who are having trouble FREEZING the screen to create the ONLINE PROFILE when marking GAMESPY the solution to my problem was as follows:

When installing the game TDU + Platinum Pack + update, when starting the game and trying to create the online profile by marking gamespy, my screen froze and it was not possible to create the profile onlone, I installed a VPN on my computer (VPN Betternet) I deleted the save game in the Documents directory, I started the installed VPN and started the TDU, thus creating the online profile without freezing.
After doing the game prologue by renting the first car, buying the first house and running the first race, I closed the game, disconnected the VPN and was able to play online without the VPN being started.

VPN link used:
https://www.betternet.co/

The game may also have missing C ++ 2015/2017/2019 installed, I do not know why, but this problem occurred with my nephew, his computer was not installed C ++, and after being installed, the game worked.

and

I hope it works for everyone

I quite enjoyed running with a handful of folks today. I was driving a yellow 308. It is my all-time favorite exotic - but it is a trifle slow. As Milli surmised, the 308 that I drive is a hybrid. It would have to be to keep up with her 355.

My driving skills leave a lot to be desired, so I apologize if they offended anyone.

I would like to know how you guys can race, navigate, avoid traffic, and put text messages on my screen, all at the same time. It boggles the mind of this old dude. Perhaps the game converts speech to text, (if one happens to be using a mic), but nowhere have I found any confirmation of this. Would someone elucidate? Maybe I should invest in a combo headset.

Thanks for the fun, and slowing down for me sometimes.

Haha no problem Led, you haven't annoyed anyone. And no, TDU doesn't convert speech to text. So, we were typing indeed.  It's a matter of practice, but even so, mistakes are more prone to happen while you text.   But as far as i know, TDU does support microphone. You just need to enable it in the menus.

And i guess you'd enjoy to check this out:

Are there any plans of adding more cars to the mod? Like the Supra A90/Mk5, GTR Nismo, the Mclaren 600LT, the Apollo Intensa Emozione, Mazda 3 and the Japanese Kei Cars (Like the Suzuki Capuccino or the Honda S660) or like conversions from other cars: like the Nismo 400R for R33.
