Also if you have space a good idea is to keep a backup of the whole original install. I have mine of my second hard drive (E:), then if i create a problem during the installation of the mod (or other TDU mods) i can simply copy/paste that backup over after i have deleted the messed up install. Don't forget to follow closely the install video that is in the first post as it shows how easy it is to install the mod and run it with the correct settings etc.

 

BUG REPORT (likely already reported): Halawai Boulevard race always results in not being able to click 'next' after completing the race. As has been noted before by another user you can simply wait for the next AI racer to cross the line and 'quit' out the game (or change profile and back again) and on reloading it will show you have completed the race correctly. So it is a minor inconvenience rather than a terrible game stopping bug.

Update:

Both the bug report for the Halawai Boulevard race and the issues with getting fuel working properly (even after having followed the info in the Project Paradise thread) were related to running TDU from the game exe files included in the Test Drive Unlimited Platinum mod. I had to use the games original Test Drive Unlimited.exe (from after the DVD install) to resolve those two issues.

So if people are having issues getting things to run as described in the first posts of the threads (here and in Project Paradise) always make sure you are running from the original game .exe file and not any other.

So now that i am running the game and mod correctly i do have a game based question. Where on earth do i upgrade my 'Ford' cars? As it seems the 'Today's American Parts' upgrade specialist near Honolulu does NOT do Ford!!!?

A: Found it! It is not far from one of those starting choice car dealers, in this case Oahu Motors.

Milli's Platinum mod is a fabulous revival of Test Drive Unlimited. And it is hard to resist the urge to post images. Here's one of my favs, the 427 Cobra sporting wire wheels and an Alberta vanity plate:

That's a very interesting observation, one that I've never noticed or seen posted here before.  I guess most of us were only these lower ranks for a relatively short time and were driving slower cars anyway.  But then a 60% limit of a Class E car that already has a lower top speed would surely be noticeable by many players...

Are you able to put a video together showing this effect?

Huge thanks for this mod! Absolutely amazing! 😄

Edit: any reason it's posted as a zip file? Compressed with 7z it gets down to almost 2.5GB in file size.. Guess it doesn't matter to most with fiber or whatever, but it's quite a difference compared to 6+.

Hey!

First of all I want to thank you and for the contributors for this awsome mod!
TDU1 was my favorite game.
Nowadays I saw somewhere a post of your mod so started over playing.

There are some things I would like to ask though:
1. The gas consumption option is just terrific idea, but where can I find stations? Or how is it working?
2. Traffic AI was modified? As I remember the original game (or at least after the official Car pack DLC) the traffic's band change was smooth, but now they do it so sudden. Don't know if you get what I mean so I made a picture.

Maybe I did miss a step when I installed the mod?
I simply installed the original game, no patches, no DLC, or anything, then I installed the mod and it's patch.

1.) No one really uses fuel because the island is lacking stations up north. So, its not possible to get from station to station if you drive the coast.

2.) Try checking "Vsync" in the Project Paradise Launcher. It sounds like your framerate is uncapped; that causes all sorts of traffic problems. You need it capped at 60, checking "Vsync" should cover it.

I find it 'amusing' when the traffic in front decides to change lane, then changes it's mind at the last minute and drifts back! 😉

Never assume that 'other' driver knows what they hell they are doing (in relation to driving a car) or where the hell they are going. A good rule in general for driving in real life and TDU!

That sounds buggy to me, like the framerate is uncapped. When traffic signals a lane change, it always fully commits. Check if your vsync is enabled.

Thanks a lot for this mod. But I have a question.

When I rammed some police cars, They were changing their  colors like other traffics.  Is this phenomenon common to all you? 

 

(Kia stinger sounds like real v8 🙂 is there good soundmod for this car?)

Hi Milli. I downloaded the files but when I try to extract the two big files it says the files are corrupted. Can you upload them again please..... And by the way, I am having so much fun with Platinum, my internet is not very good so unfortunately I can't play online, but I am enjoying it very much...

The 2 big files are automatically extracted when you extract the small one.  If it doesn't work still, try to re-download.   

Edit: If the extracted folder from the smaller zip is 268mb of size, it worked. That's the whole size of the update.

Hi Milli, sorry to bother you again. Do you know the bnk files for the Ferrari F430 Scuderia without stripes? the F430_scu are for the one with stripes...

Awesome 🙂

I gave the harder AI a bash and it makes that whole opening part of the game (F class) much more interesting. I had to pick my fights and learn to accept 2nd, 3rd or non places! Lots of fun and everything working as smooth as silk so far. Thank you (and any other modders involved).
