How to change the names of the cars?

Hello, I'm new here. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to change the names of the cars in TDU. For example, from Noble M14 to Audi R8 and so on.

Thanks alot in advance. :) Will appreciate if anyone's willing to help.

I think you do that in the database files.. "db_us.bnk" (or what language you have) But I'm not sure.

I kinda realized that i may change it through the file db_us.bnk. But i just do not know the way. :sulk: I tried opening the db_us.bnk file using the bnk editor but I have no clue what those numbers are. Anyone plz.................?

Extract TDU_CarPhysicsData.us from DB_US.bnk then open it with DB Editor.

Car and brand names are there.

Warning !

- If you replace "Noble" by "Audi", every Noble will be an Audi.

- If you just replace "M14" by "R8", the car will have for name "Noble R8".

To sum up, there's not any miracle solution for the moment.

Thanks alot ya.. It doesn't really matter as there's only one edonis in the game. So perhaps I can rename it Bugatti. Anyway, thanks for the warning..:thumbsup:

Also, keep an eye on the bitsyze of the file.

I believe i figured out you had a margin of -2 max. to make it work.

Anyway, make backups, that's the most important! :D

I have do this but my Farboud is now named : Farboud Carrera GT Prototype 2005 :S

well, you obviously changed the wrong entry :D

try again. Put it back the way it was and check the in game name and then check the file for that name. Maybe it's in there 2 times (some vehicules have that) and play around with it a bit.

You'll get it eventually, it's not like you have a lot of options ;)

What I did was change every name in CarPhysicsData from "Edonis" to either "Set 1" or "Set 2". I did that so I could tell which names go where. When I got into the game the Edonis had disappeared out of the Italian Independants showroom.

If any of you guys have figured out which names are for the Model of the car, please let me know. I've already changed the brand to Audi because that's in the TDU_Brands.us file.

EDIT: Criss-GT extract TDU_Brands.us instead of TDU_CarPhysicsData.us and change every "FARB" into "PORSCHE". That should change the car brand for you, and the logo.

Even looking at your files, Little_ghost, I can't tell which "Edonis" names to change to "R8". I really have no idea about anything else I might have to do. All I'm doing at the moment is changing "Edonis" to "R8" and it makes the Edonis disappear from the showroom.

I'm trying to change the Edonis name into R8. I know that when you buy the car it doesn't have a separate brand or model, it's just an Edonis. When you go the the showroom, though, you can see the logo of Edonis to the right of your screen where it shows the stats of the car. I want to change Edonis into R8. I have already changed the logo so it now shows an Audi logo instead of an Edonis one, I just can't figure out how to change the Edonis name into R8. Once I get this done I can download the model and replace the Edonis model with the R8 and I will actually have an Audi R8 with the name and logo perfect. I would so appreciate if you helped me out on this one because I see you had no problem at all converting the RUF brand and the models into Porsche and Boxter S etc.

When you edit the TDU_Brands.us file, hold CTRL + F and then type in FARB and click next. Edit whatever's highlighted to PORSCHE and then click next again. It should highlight another RUF text and change that to PORSCHE aswel. That should change the name and logo to Porsche.

EDIT: Could you also tell me how you changed Farboud "GTS" into Farboud "Carrera GT Prototype 2005" ?

But the car is now named Porsche Carrera GT but it has the logo of the Farboud :S

Logo's for map etc you can find in the "LogoTexturePage.bnk" file

located in "Euro\Bnk\FrontEnd\AllRes" if I remember correctly.

Rims and car logo's can be find in the car's file itself, but you already knew that I think.

Again, check my porschemod to see what files I edited.

Well, no problem at all isn;t quite my experience ;)

As I said, it also check file size, and you only have like 2 bits to play with or something like that.

Anyway, If you send me a pm with the file(s) and a description of waht you'd like me to do, I'd gladly help you out. I'm aslo asking you for the file because I edited mine and don;t want to mess up my own or yours! :)
