Introducing the first Community Multiplayer Server for Test Drive Unlimited 2! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Important Notice TDU World DOES NOT support unpacked/cracked/modified editions of Test Drive Unlimited 2! We are aware there are no longer CD Keys for TDU2 at a reasonable price given the "abandonware" situation. A clean copy of the original DVD installation can be found on Internet Archives here: https://archive.org/details/tdu2-multi5-dvd If you do not have a CD Key, or can't find a working one online, you can use 80_PA to "fake activate" TDU2. The latest download can be found here, you need the 7Z release. https://github.com/Blaukovitch/80_PA/releases In order to use 80_PA, simply open TDU2, when asked for activation enter "1234-1234-1234-1234" then when prompted for invalid key, click offline activation. Launch 80_PA.exe in the zip and paste the "Unlock Request Code" into 80_PA. Click Generate Unlock Code. Copy/Paste the Unlock Code into the TDU Activation Window, then play as normal. NO mods other than the ones provided via our Launcher are supported. Let us know if you'd like to see a mod come to TDU World and we'll see about making it happen! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Current features TDU World Mod Pack Bug fixes including those from Unofficial Patch + new ones A curation of the best vehicles with more coming in future updates Language Updates to reflect Online Server Mod + Support for all official languages Optional Graphics Mods: GPS, Orthophoto/Seasons Packs TDU World Online Free Roam across Ibiza + Hawaii Includes Instant Challenges, Online Police Chases, Vehicle Livery Syncing + In Game Chat (Text + Voice) Public and Private Multiplayer Racing (including Matchmaking) Internal Club Racing (Club Member Exclusive races/PVP events) Friends (Search by player name and adding recent players) Join/Invites for Free-Ride, and Indoor areas (Casino Excluded) DLC Support emulates the experience of buying the DLC In Game using Tokens (Free) Unlocks exclusive avatar clothing for some DLC vehicles TDU2: Casino Online: Slot Machines (All Types) Roulette (All Types) Time Attacks: Audi R8 Club Houses: Create + Join Clubs Leaderboards: Leaderboards enabled for Single, Multiplayer and other special events. This is an issue with new DirectX 12 GPUs and can be resolved by installing DGVoodoo via the Launcher. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How to install Step 1: Installing TDU2 Perform a clean, standard install of Test Drive Unlimited 2 either from Steam or DVD/Digital Download You must use a completely clean download if you do not have the Steam or DVD Edition. Repacked/Cracked editions are NOT supported! Step 2: Preparing TDU2 Before you install TDU World, please run the original UpLauncher.exe at least once. You do not need to start the game with the original launcher unless you want to make sure your game is installed properly. Failure to do so will result in TDU World failing to find your game! Make sure you have a text file named "key" in the game directory. Without this, you will not be able to access TDU World! If the key.txt file does not exist in your directory, create the text file yourself and paste your CD key inside. Note: The CD Key is NOT your Steam Key! Steam will give you a separate CD Key. Right click the game in your Library, select Manage, then CD Keys. Step 3: Installing TDU World If you haven't already, go to TDUWorld.com & register an account by clicking "Register" and activating your account. You must use a legitimate E-mail address! Inactivated accounts are not allowed online. Once you've registered and activated your TDU World Account, click the Download button on this page to download TDU World. Run the installer, It will automatically find TDU2 as long as you have a supported version installed. Optional: Tick the Shortcut box to put a cool TDU World Shortcut on your Desktop or in your Start Menu to easily play TDU World. The Installer will then ask you if you wish to proceed installing TDU World. Press "Yes" to proceed. When you first load TDU World you will be required to download and install the TDU World Base Pack, as well as the latest version of the game if you haven't already got an up to date version of TDU2. You can also find other mods available using the Mod Manager. Open the game and register a new account using your TDU World credentials. (Nickname = Profile Name, TDU World Account = TDU World Username, Password = TDU World Account Password) Congratulations, you can now play online! Have fun! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Credits Founder xXBeefyDjXx Project Managers Xarlith xXBeefyDjXx Mod Pack Developers Xarlith Server Developers xXBeefyDjXx and formerly MeFisto94 Redd Kuxii Website Developers xXBeefyDjXx Esurient Design Esurient and formerly Aquarious Special thanks to Atari Eden Games TurboDuck.net TDU2 fans all over the world!

  3. Hello everyone! It's been a while since we've openly shared anything about TDU World and an update was long overdue, luckily we have lots of good things to show! Over the past few months we have been working long and hard and have overcome quite a few of the biggest obstacles regarding online play. Some people might already know about some of the news since we teased it in our Discord (which you can join here if you haven't already!), but there is some more stuff to talk about... We won't keep you waiting any longer, lets get into it! TDU World got a fresh new logo! First of all, to go with the advancements of the project, we decided on a new and more distinctive logo. The old one was lacking some emotion and it was a bit boring, the new logo is set to change that! It also fits more into the TDU setting by displaying some palm trees. Here it is: *drum ruffle* We are currently updating all social channels to use the new logo, together with a full restyle of the launcher. Stay tuned! And now: The news you've been waiting for... Yup! you guessed it. After a long time of trial and error, we have gotten the first online interactions working! These include the following features: Player logins & lobbying Free roam, including: Car functionality (i.e. lights, horn, windows, exhaust sounds) Chat (including profanity filter) Co-op driving Instant Challenges (PvP Races) Voice chatting Vehicle Liveries (car colour, stickers, etc.) Dealerships & other player rooms (excluding houses) Both islands (Ibiza & O'ahu, Hawaii) Report/Banning system (All User Offenses) Traffic (AI) GPS player count Joining players via the Map All single player content like races and the timed events still works as normal Features currently in the works: Friends & Recent players list (works but not fully) Time & Weather (works but not fully) Further Lobbying, including but not limited to Races (Private and Matchmaking), Casino, etc. The biggest thing is of course the free roam functionality, which is working very well. Car syncing is great and smooth! We've been teasing this for an awful long time, so here's some content (proof if you will ) of the servers working. Some exciting progress as you can see! As much as the team is working hard, it isn't all perfect yet. On that bombshell... We need the community! We're inviting a handful of players to join us with testing the server stability and functionality as well as get a first peek into the TDU World Mod Pack! TDU World Closed Beta Testing In line with the progress we have been making recently, the time has come to recruit some beta testers to ensure everything so far is working correctly! Due to the complexity of the project and the sheer amount of feedback we will receive, the TDU World Community Server Beta will be limited to 20 people. We will be needing members of the community to test the new server, launcher and mod pack and relay data back to us when you find something funky, or plain broken. To participate, we require the following things: Active contribution Be online often during testing Networking Opening ports in your router Using WireShark to log the communication between your game and the server Test Drive Unlimited 2 A legitimate copy, either retail or Steam. Time to play through part of the game Testing the server stability and mod pack additions Testing car class balance English language Speaking and understanding is a must If you check all of these boxes, you can submit an application here (Click "Here") After we've chosen the 20 players out of all submission, we will be contacting them through Discord (be sure to allow personal messages during this time!). Please do not message any members of the team about the beta access or ask for any updates on the situation. We do not yet know when the beta testing will start. When we have selected a date, we will update everyone! TDU World now has a Patreon! We've been constantly asked by the community if we will be accepting donations from avid TDU fans who want to support us, and now we can finally say yes! We have chosen to go with Patreon as our platform to accept donations on. There will be three tiers you can sign up to, outlined below: Tier 1: £5.00 per month - Special "TDU World Fan" Discord title, bonus work-in-progress content Tier 2: £10.00 per month - Special "TDU World Super Fan" Discord title, bonus work-in-progress content, a TDU World sticker! Tier 3: £25.00 per month - Special "TDU World Ultra Fan" Discord title, bonus work-in-progress content, personalized Thank You Letter and a TDU World sticker & TDU World T-Shirt1! 1 - T-Shirts are only available for patrons who have subscribed for 3 consecutive months. The funds raised will mainly be going towards server hosting, because that isn't free unfortunately! They will also be going towards other project fees. We promise to maintain full transparency on the Patreon as to where they money is being used. For those wishing to support us via Patreon, please visit https://www.patreon.com/OfficialTDUWorld. This is the only official way of donating to the project! Remember: Supporting our project is optional! We will never, ever force players to support us, and playing on the servers/using the mod pack will always be free, forever. The TDU World Mod Pack We recently acquired some new members to start work on the TDU World Mod Pack. The goal with this mod pack is to make Test Drive Unlimited 2 feel like a modern game again. This means new music, new textures and perhaps most importantly: an updated car list. The pack will be split up into multiple parts: Cars, Environment, Sound and of course, a Full pack consisting of all parts. Below, we will go over these parts. Cars Considering how the world of automobiles has evolved since the creation of TDU2 and how many different vehicles have broken records and changed the rules, the car classes are getting fully rebalanced to be better suited for the new cars we are introducing. We did this not by nerfing (slowing down) the original cars, but by putting them against cars that really do match them in performance, whether they were cars from the original game or TDU World additions. For example: the Subaru Impreza is not going to make A6 look like a walk in the park any longer. Instead, it will face tougher competition! The cars we will be adding are not just a combination of existing mods, we are also creating new high quality mods ourselves to accompany them. The new mods we are creating mostly consist of recent and brand new models from countries like Britain, Italy and Germany. While the new mods we are creating will be of high quality, we will also be keeping low end systems in mind. Here is a little sneak peek on some of the vehicles that will be added! Environment For the games' graphics, we will be using a combination of existing mods to bring more life into the islands and make them look less dated. For now we have selected mods for roads, foliage and clouds. We will also be tweaking the in game settings to allow for higher quality shadows, and better draw distance for instance. The tweaks we will be doing here are not set in stone yet and requires more research to see the possibilities. Sound We will be replacing the radio stations to feature new songs, and if possible, we might even add new radio stations! Music for the map, start screen etc. will also be changed. Again, these packs are all optional. In the end, we want everyone to be running the same game, so everyone can enjoy the same cars and more importantly: have a balanced online racing experience! There will of course be people who prefer the stock experience and thus, we will not require use of the modpack. We will, however, be sure everyone runs the same balanced database so all cars will be in the correct classes. Looking for a sound designer! For the mod pack, we also want to overhaul some of the car sounds in the game. These are kind of lacking and remove some of the immersion while driving. The thing is, we currently do not have a member in our team who is able to create high quality sound mods for cars. Therefore, we give the community a chance to apply! Do you think you can create high quality sound mods for the cars in TDU2? We would like to get in touch! ----- We hope we supplied everyone with enough news! This was it for now, we hope to share more news soon, so stay tuned! Thanks to each and every one of you for supporting and following this amazing and huge project! Best regards, The TDU World Team

  4. I'm Ztryka, from The Philippines, 24 years old (about to be 25 this May) I played TDU1 Platinum back then in 2019, and just this year (2021) I started to play TDU2, about how long do I drive in TDU games? Like I was obsessed with finding all the roads on the island, like that much, every nook and cranny hehe. For TDU2, I found all the roads of Ibiza in two separate playthroughs, it gets easier overtime because of road planning, aside from the best moments of finding all the roads, other best moments I have in TDU games are marathon races where you drive around the whole island. (Tour of the Island and The Millionaire's Challenge in TDU1, Ibiza Tour in TDU2, although I haven't drive in Hawaii in TDU2 though.) About me, I do believe good music gives extra 100-200 horsepower to all cars.

  5. Hey guys, I'm from Germany, 42 years old and I play TDU2 since release in Feb 2011. Before that I loved driving in TDU1, but not that excessive, maybe because I only played it offline, there had to be a TDU2 to make me love and enjoy the online features I managed to collect more than 4,500 ingame hours in my TDU2 main profile + about 1,000 more in some side profiles. In Dec 2014 I switched over to The Crew and after The Crew I switched to The Crew 2 in Jun 2018 (or better said beginning with alpha testing since Sep 2017). But TDU2 was never dead for me, I always loved to do the CRC races, made some by myself and cruise around Ibiza and Oahu from time to time, even when the servers went down. Until now I collected more than 330,000 kilometers and I hope there are still some more to come

  6. After a several year hiatus, I randomly came across this forum again and found it to be online because of your amazing work! Thank you so much! I'm working on getting TDU2 unpacked and running at the moment. I joined the discord server, too, so I am super excited! Again, thank you!

  7. You have to start a new online profile. You’re probably using an offline account which does not offer online interactions. Also to check if the game really is offline: is the icon in the GPS red? Then you are offline. If it is green, you are online.

Thank you for making this game back to life! Currently having an issue to launch the game: after following all the steps, when clicking on "Play" in the launcher, the screens flickers then back to desktop. Any idea about how to fix this?

  9. There seems to be a problem with controllers not working or only half working. In my case my Logitech F510 only allowed me to drive around but not open and navigate menus. While this controller did work in the original version of TDU2. To fix this, copy the original controller files into the root. For your convenience I've put them in a zip: Installation: unpack in root of the game, enjoy Controllerfiles.rar

  10. TDU World have good faith that Nacon (The developers behind TDU Solar Crown) will deliver in due course. They have their final WRC game to get out the door first and a fairly large task on their hands delivering something the community would be happy with. Remember this is the first time a developer other than Eden Games (RIP) have worked on a TDU game and Nacon are well known for delivering some quality games with the community in mind.

  11. About one matter I'm sure: you will release this mod, those folks at TDU 3 Solar Crown won't. Their project vanished. Literally. I wasn't able to get any recent news about it. With best New Year wishes and regards to all.

  17. Hello Guys Im from Albania and I've been playing TDU2 since it came out, been quite involved in the modding community here and have contributed financially to mod creators. Since 1 year ago ive been working and improving upon the Unofficial Patches released, by balancing out the cars in game and adding new cars (up to a point where my TDU2 reached 270 cars) and tailoring the performance of the cars in game so they can be as realistic as possible regarding the TDU2 gameplay. I hope one day i can share this private project with everyone in here

  18. Hi, TDU player from the beginning. I come from game's native country and had the chance to meet Eden Games staff at the times I was part of the team from the first french community at tdu.fr (it has passed away since then). I also followed TDU2 development and played a bit on PS3, but I could not get enough fun. I worked a lot on TDU modding, providing some tools and spending hours in reverse engineering, leading to most of vehicle mods and Platinum. And many more. Concerning TDU2, I adapted Bnk unpacking/repacking tools for PC and I believe they are always used by modders by now, although being full of bugs

  19. I started TDU2 in 2012 I remember. I'm today 17 and I always loved this game, from the beginning to today, I've been so sad when learning it was closing as well as Skill Special Force 2 or Battlefield Play4free, these were games I loved, so seeing it back one day could be awesome. I think I never finished 100% the Story but spent so much good time with my friends and still talk to them today. I stopped playing cause of the Online being removed.

  20. Hi all. I'm from Melbourne AU, and regularly played TDU1 on PC when it first released up until the servers closed. I completed TDU2 and took part in a few online cruises but didn't enjoy the physics/handling unfortunately. The dirt-road handling was more tolerable. I managed to win the TDU2 Superfan contest many years ago with this amateurish trailer. I stopped playing TDU2 when I was accepted into the WMD program that helped fund and develop Project CARS. These days I've packed away my Fanatec CSR Elite wheel + pedals and I play The Crew 2 and Rocket League on PC using a Xbox One gamepad in my spare time. I'm looking forward to learning more about TDU SC.

  24. Do you have MSI Afterburner running? Any overlay display may create issues with d3d9 injections. Try closing them. If it works without MSI Afterburner running, go to "Riva Tuner" (it's in your bar next to the clock while MSI Afterburner is running). There's an option in there called "Custom Direct3D Support", see if it works after enabling it.
