Why does some vehicles display an absurd Top Speed? That's because how TDU was codded. Sadly, to get the gear ratios to work as they should, you must set the car's Top Speed as the top gear speed. Which means, the maximum speed that the final gear could achieve, regardless of it's power or drag. Usually, vehicles that have an "Overdrive gear" will display absurd values, since the last gear is really long, with the porpouse of fuel saving. Q. Ok, but why it is actually the Top Speed value is lower than the final gear speed? That's because TDU, by standard, adds around 10% more top speed. So, if a car final gear speed is 330 km/h, if you set as 300 km/h, in-game the car will reach 330 km/h. Now, if you set 330 km/h, the car will actually be faster than it should, and will reach 363 km/h. Deducting 10% of the speed makes not only the final gear accurate, but every gear will top at the correct speed, if your gear ratios are correct, which means the speed you need to shift will also be accurate. Q. Why the car classes are broken and i have overpowered vehicles for it's class? Because that was the easiest way i found to get these high-power tunes and keep the game "easily moddable". TDU will only understand a car class change if it reads a new entry on the database. That being said, i would need 4 entries in the car database, for 1 single vehicle, 1 entry being it stock, and 1 new entry for each tune kit. That means instead of 880 vehicles, i would need at least 3520. Not to mention that if someone decides to modify that 1 vehicle, they will need to modify the tuning its aswell. That not only means it would take a long time, but that it would make the game much more complex to be modded, so i used the original upgrade system, that's based on % increase of the base vehicle, but sadly, it doesn't support class changes. Q. The traffic in my game is being glitchy and invisible, what do i do? In the Project Paradise Laucher, make sure to enable V-Sync, to lock your fps to 60. The game won't do well with higher fps. Q. The game is displaying too much brightness, what i did wrong? Usually the dealerships display a higher brightness than the road environment. But also, that could be caused by FX Tweak being enabled in Project Paradise Launcher. TDU Platinum weather system was developed to not require FX Tweak, if you enable it in the launcher, it may override the weather files. Q. The physics have been changed, but they seem the same? That's because the physics engine is the same, but TDU allows each car to have their individual physics worked on, and that's what's been changed. To match real data, because TDU has messed it up even on the original game. Q. TDUPE is not working? Yes it is, but unfortunately i've stumbled across an issue i thought i would have. This issue happens when the database has over a thousand entries, which is the case, since TDU Platinum's database has 1105 entries. So, to use TDUPE, you must follow these steps: To run TDUPE, you must open it as admin. Point your TDU database directory in the settings and click load. Once it has loaded the database, search for the Custom Car you replaced in the car list. Modify and Click save. (That is when the problem starts.) Because TDUPE can't deal with more than 1000 entries in the database, it will make the game crash, to fix that issue, you must open TDU Modding Tools File Browser. Extract the CarPhysicsData.db, located inside the DB.bnk. Decrypt CarPhysicsData.db using TDU UT (this tool i did not provided, but it can be found on the forums) Open it using notepad and set the number of "Items" as 1105, save and close. Encrypt the file again, using TDU UT. Replace the new CarPhysicsData.db inside the DB.bnk. Q. Do i need the game or this is a standalone game? No! You need the game first, this is a mod and won't work on it's own.

    About: This mod allows you to drive on Dillingham airfield. This mod adds a collision surface to the far north-west airport of Ohau as well as sharper cleaner Hmap textures. The runway also has some markers for 1/4 mile and 1/2 drag racing. The airfield is enterable using the slip road already present in the original game, the barrier has been removed. Installation: Extract the Rar into your tdu directory. WIP I may make more changes to this when I get a chance, nothing is truly final.

    TDU2: Unofficial Patch v0.4.1 July 01, 2021 The main goal of this project was to track down and fix many little bugs that were missed by the developers. As the time went by we started adding our own custom content. The patch grew bigger and bigger to the point that UP started to look more like a modpack than a small patch. TDU2: UP fixes a lot of car's specific bugs - like Lotus Evora gear ratios, Audi Q7 collapsing into tarmac etc. To preserve vanilla driving feeling and performance my changes to the car's physics were done very conservatively. This mod provides easy access to vehicles (through dealerships) which were removed from the final game. The first release of the patch restored to the game all deleted cars (for example Nissan 370z Nismo and HotRod). Future releases provided cars made by our talented modders. All new vehicles have improved physics and balanced performance - player without UP would still have a chance of winning in multiplayer race using only official vehicles from the same segment - do not worry.     Andraste Modding Framework Andraste, at it’s core, is a generic modding framework, aiming to bring a modern toolset into old (DX 9) and modern games alike. It does so by injecting a .NET FX Runtime into native applications, allowing us to code the framework in a safe language (C#), which even opens up the possibility to write code modifications in .NET languages, that interface seamlessly with the native code of the game. Note: This current release requires you to be tech-savy and is primarly aimed at mod developers and to find problems with the base-framework. It won't provide major features, yet, so don't sweat it, if you can't get it to run. Note: While this is in the TDU2 category, Andraste can also be used for TDU1 and potentially a lot of other games (unless they are 64 bits or have some protective anti cheat system) How to run Andraste Currently, Andraste only comes with a console launcher, so to launch it, you need to execute the Launcher.exe and pass the path to your game. This can be done by dragging the game onto the Launcher.exe or better: creating a shortcut to do that. If Andraste is running, it should write logging output into the console window of the launcher. At this point, you can start creating mods that will then be loaded into your game. In order for mods to be loaded into your game, place them into the mods folder next to the Launcher.exe Currently, since the Launcher has no proper GUI, all mods are always loaded, you can't toggle them, but you can move them out of the mods folder. If you still have problems launching Andraste, see our Docs on using the Launcher and "installing" mods. Converting an Mod into the Andraste Format First, make sure that you have the permission of the original author to convert/upload the andraste version of the mod. Then, follow our Getting Started Guide What can I use it for, at the moment? If you managed to convert a mod, you can now use (and remove!) these game mods, without changing your unpacked(!) base game (the game needs to be unpacked, because the VFS feature only replaces existing files, it doesn't create packed files yet). While this feature may not be impressive yet (besides removing mods without having to have a backup of your game folder somewhere), there is much more possible with that technique, but that takes manpower and time. Internally, we're currently using the scripting functionality to find out more about the game and progress on different fronts such as multiplayer or asset manager, so definitely stay tuned for further progress, at some point, we will release the TDU2 Modding Framework, that is an additional layer on top of Andraste, providing TDU2 specific features (patching files inside BNKs, running on a packed game, hot reloading, ...)   13. OMG! Is this news?! Yeah, we know it's been a while since we've done a proper news announcement. We're often extremely busy! Let's begin shall we? What is going on with TDU World now? TDU World and its staff have not gone anywhere, in fact in the last 6 months we've grown to almost 50 members including our Beta Testers! We want to assure the community that there is almost always something being worked on in the background. If we're quiet it usually means we're working on something major. Unfortunately, a project of this scale means that now and again, we have to re-evaluate our work to ensure we're on track to release good quality content per our promise. With this, we’re announcing that there will likely not be any updates coming to the Public Servers, at least for another 3 months. We have had to rewrite a lot of fundamental features in the last 6 months including but not limited to Lobbying to ensure they work as planned, with no issues that may restrict other features as we expand. This work is still ongoing, as discussed later in this announcement. Remember: As long as you are patient, we promise the wait will be worth it! Our promise to the community as always, is that when things are ready, we will release them. This is never going to change. So, what's been worked on? Between the Server Developers and the Mod Pack team, the following has been worked on: Server News The TDU World Server Development Team have been extremely hard at work over the past few months, implementing new features and expanding currently implemented features. Here's a run-down of the current status: Public Servers: Over the last few months, we've made many smaller changes behind the scenes to improve the Public TDU World Servers, most notably when we accidentally broke our Server Status page moving over to Linux. We're well aware that TDU World hasn't received any major public updates since release in February. Despite our best efforts to try to release content, it has become an increasingly difficult task due to many factors, most notably how busy our teams can be at any moment with their own lives. Remember, there’s only 4 of us working on the server at any given moment and we not only have to create the server, we have to pull apart the game’s inner workings first and this is no easy task. The following is Live on the Public Servers: Freeroam: Including Co-Op Driving, and Police Chases No other features are currently due for release yet, and until Lobbying 2.0 is ready there won’t be any further Server Updates. Coming Soon: Lobbying 2.0: One of the biggest and most important changes to TDU World's Servers is Lobbying 2.0: Lobbying 2.0 will bring better, faster in game lobbies, no more false sessions, no more dead lobbies. Multiplayer Racing will make a return too, including head-to-head, all mini games, and Matchmaking. (Support for Clubs, CRC/ORC and Casino Races not included) Lobbying 2.0 will also bring with it better user tracking on the Map, and improve the ability to join player’s sessions on the fly. Friends: The ability to use the Friends List will be making a return soon. The team have almost completed work on this with just a few bugs to iron out. DLC: We're pleased to announce that work on the DLC portion of the TDU World Servers has almost been completed. TDU World Players will be gifted the total amount of TDU World Tokens to unlock every DLC Item in the game, including Casino once we release support for it. As we have warned in the past, if you haven't unlocked the DLC after this update and you sign in to a profile with DLC Vehicles, they will be reset to Miami's Mustang! You do not have to sell your vehicles though. We will release a workaround when we release the DLC Update. Weather: Behind the scenes, a lot of testing and trials have taken place to test out new Weather code for the Server. Whilst there has been improvement, this is still a while away from completion and may take time. Once finished, we hope to tinker with the timings to allow players to unlock the photo achievements whilst online. In the meantime, if you really want to unlock the photographer awards, please launch TDU2 offline for the best results. Stats: Player Stats including Leaderboards is currently undergoing a complete rewrite. The original code simply wasn’t working as expected, and considering stats covers almost every single function in the game, this is a large task to complete. Due to the complexity around Stats, we cannot promise this will come soon. Other Features: Clubs, Casino, and the Community/Official Racing Centers are continually being worked on, features such as MyTDULife (Photos), News, and other smaller but equally important features are also being worked on in stages, however these are all a long way from completion. Over time we hope to continue getting all these features working and will be posting more updates soon. The TDU World Mod Pack for TDU2: Yes it's still being worked on! In order to bring the community the absolute best we can, some of the Server Development Team Members and our Mod Pack Team have been working to produce brand new and exclusive tools for TDU2 with the aim of achieving complete control over the game’s content. We're pleased to announce that we will be releasing further news regarding the initial release of the Mod Pack within the next 2 months. (And yes we mean within 2 months, We're confident as a team that this goal can be achieved!)     After many hours of mixing and editing, it's finally here. I managed to create a Mercedes V12 engine sound, attempting to match it as close as possible to the real one. The outcome wasn't too bad! The on-throttle sounds are actually a combination of raw engine sounds from TDU2 - Mercedes SLR, SLK, Audi S5, Bugatti Veyron, and Ferrari Dino. The start-up, off-throttle, and idle sounds are from TDU Platinum's Pagani Huayra. I made this sound specifically for the SL class but you can use this on any Mercedes or Brabus with a V12. With this sound, I hope more drivers buy the SL in-game, it is a truly underrated piece of art!     The love letter to the one of the greatest sports cars in the history...is now out! Took me quite a bit of time, pain and suffering to get there, but it was definitely worth it. Changelog v1.2: - added the reverse lights, reworked the tail lights, some of the materials, improved rear offsets, lower ride height (from TDUPK) Features: - working doors, windows and dials, - colorable interior (needs to be adjusted in the database), - second LOD, - 3-color paint jobs (primary color, stripes as secondary and the third color being the Porsche decals and brakes). Bugs: - None I've seen so far. Tell me in the comments or in our Discord if you find any. - Not really a bug, but the TDUPK provided isn't really accurate cause I couldn't find any info about the car apart from weight, power, torque and weight distribution, the rest is from the Eden default car. Bringing back all online functionality and improving on the original systems of TDU2, to create a more stable version of the servers than ever before. What is TDUniverse? TDUniverse is a project with the aim of restoring full online functionality to both Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2. The project embodies an online server that enables players to create their profiles and participate in the universe of Test Drive Unlimited. Relive the classic days of TDU by getting behind the wheel of your favorite cars and cruising from the sunny boulevards of Ibiza to the endless highways of O'ahu. We are launching in Open Beta status since our work on the servers is not complete yet. We are working on each feature until they are 100% how we want it to be before we release a full version of TDUniverse. The players will be able to play just fine on our servers and are able to report any bugs they come across. We will then review/recreate this bug and see how we can fix it. This way we will be able to deliver a more and more stable experience every time. Installing TDU2 with TDUniverse: Install a fresh licensed copy of Test Drive Unlimited 2.     I would like to present updated soundtrack for Test Drive Unlimited Platinum. Thanks to Milli's work on this great mod, I worked on this fix with pleasure. Why and for what? Well, while playing TDU Platinum it seemed that some songs had very poor sound quality. They sounded wrong. Then, I discovered that some songs even had incorrect ingame names. So, as I knew how I could manage this, I made this fix. Features: -Updated music quality (MP3, 48,0 kHz, 320 kbps, Stereo). It was maxed out as possible to work ingame; -Corrected/added information about songs and its positions in .station files (file name, title, artist and album(radio name)); -"It just works". Download (982MB) is available on Google Disk. Instruction is included. What do you think about it? I will be glad to read your reviews. P.S. Also I think it would be great, if these fixed files were included in Platinum mod.

A: Yes but i'm won't. I let it in because it's better for the Traffic visibilty at the distance. If you want to remove them you can use my light_fx.2db texture to remove it. But Attention this remove the complete lightflares on every Car in the Game!! Q: I have a problem my cars are looking like a Monstertruck when i crash into it. A: Dont switch the traffic vehicles among themselves it causes optical problems wich i cant solve Maybe if there come more cars later, replace it only with traffic wich is scheduled!!   45. Hello Friends! I took easter as a chance to look through all of my projects, judging their state, what needs to be done and thus writing this blog post, because I always have a lot of cool projects running, but they are barely known to most (except those that lurk on universe and turboduck discords ;)), which I really have to change because they are awesome! If you want to know more about any of these projects, ask in discord or even better: comment on this post, I'll try to answer as much as I can. So, without further ado, let's jump into the projects: Test Drive Unlimited 2: After being a complete medial disaster, we've finally managed to bring the launcher/announcement post on turboduck: In the meantime, the server has become main-feature-complete, minus the Casino. Besides that there are a lot of missing smaller things (mostly stats, custom pictures in houses, club-vs-club races (I could never test them as that would mean 8 active players), ORC (CRC works!)). If you like TDU2, also don't skip over our blog post about our dynamic matchmaking and why it's the superior solution among tdu2 servers here: The TLDR is that our approach is reactive and instead of relying on any launcher doing magic detections, we're dead easy: If there are issues with lobbying, rating goes down and someone else is chosen. Test Drive Unlimited (1): For TDU1, I also have a lot in store that you may not expect at all. Multiplayer wise, I've been working on integrating the tdu1 protocol into the existing tduniverse tdu2 code-base and to my surprise, it lines up much more than I even though. Freeride/freeroam is technically possible, however I still have a hard-to-understand issue where the peer-to-peer communication between player 1 and the host causes the host to crash. Whenever I have the time and motivation and a good idea, this may be solvable and then I can start asking for volunteers on turboduck/tduniverse to see how lobbies/p2p sync behaves with the original protocol (as opposed to the bolt-on raknet that project paradise relies on, at least partially). Why? There's a few reasons why I am reinventing the wheel here: Maintainability. As far as I know, there is someone that can restart the server, but further development is not possible. Such an addon could be an ignore mode/blacklist, that btw the original protocol even has. Stability/Improvements. It would be a stretch to believe that the original networking may be better then what pp has, because I don't know pp's internals, but I can at least get rid of the need of using a VPN in order to register an account. At least working on that is in our hands again. Completion of missing features! Once we have freeride working, we can focus on porting all other missing features over from tdu2 (e.g. races, clubs) and re-develop others (e.g. the diner, that has evolved into the CRC in tdu2 or the eBay/vehicle auction house). Modding Tools, HC Mod, Map Expansion and others that I do for TDU1 will be addressed much further down in this article. Project Riviera: Finally I can talk about riviera! Some of you may have already spotted our statusses on Discord, such as "burning tires by the sea", "eating slices of watermelon" and have wondered what that is about. It's not about adding a new island to tdu2, well, not exactly, but close. At some point in deeply modding the tdu games, I have had a lot of situations, where I've regretted "fighting the game" to achieve what I want. In fact, I've spent quite some time in producing nice tools, enabling things that weren't possible before, but the question always was: What if I spent that work in a game engine, instead, working on a blank game? This is especially relevant, when we talk about changing very fundamental parts of the game, such as adding in parts that weren't done yet (auction house, night clubs) as well as changing physics, the networking layer (no peer-to-peer or more than 8 player lobbies), the architecture (64 bit) or the rendering layer (RTX Crashes). If you factor all of those in, it really sounds stupid, trying to mod the game to that degree. And it really is, with the skillset that is available in this community, all that it takes is a vision and a team. So we've set sail into riviera: What is it? Riviera is a drive-and-vibe game as well as a love letter to the 80s and the medditarean coast. Just the dolce vita, driving your favourite car in the sun with your friends, pulling the windows down, reving the engine and powersliding down-hill next to the sea. Conceptually, we're obviously drawing inspiration from our favorite open world racers, but also trying to scale up into the megaserver principle known from some MMORPGS. That means, we want to have big lobbies (think truckersMP) and even host things like car meets, crew cruises (think: easter/christmas cruises, but also smaller inofficial cruises). Together, we'll have to find out how easily we can handle many players on a map in early access. But I will write the architecture in a way that it supports those lobbies, but at the same time we can easily have virtual smaller lobbies (e.g. just you and your crew or friends). Of course, we also want to have dealerships, a special degree of customization, a selection of daily drivers, so you can build up your collection and much more. As much as I want to tell you about all of our ideas and passion, I also have to hold back to not build promises, because the game will contain what we find out and discover together, in the end. Our perspective As you can tell from my motivation in the beginning, we're not creating riviera to satisfy some stakeholders, but instead we want to work on our vision and dream, because we're not satisfied with the games that are made nowadays. Now instead of reposting those "what's wrong with the racing game scene" videos, we try to take fate into our own hands and even if we only fulfill our niche with that, we're satisfied, as we've put our passion into the game. I say that, because we're always appreciating any help in any way, but we won't be able to finanically compensate work for the forseeable future. Instead, the drive should be to finally be able to create _the_ racing/driving game of our dreams. This is both due to our strong beliefs in open source software, as well as trying to be as open to modders as possible. What would fit better as having modders use the same tools we use to build the game and maybe even have others bringing improvements into our tooling by contributing to the repository? For now, I can't tell you too much about the tools, but I am currently fighting the mathematics of "riviera calibration", a tool that aims to creating car models from scratch (as we can't port them from existing games for legal reasons) as easy as painting by numbers! Essentially you start with a collection of reference images of your car and they compute the location of the cameras in relation to each other/the model. That way you can add them as views into blender and only need to drag vertices, so that they fit onto the image, painting by numbers. So again, as you can imagine, the math involved isn't that easy, so wish me luck Andraste Modding Framework TLDR: Andraste is the framework I wrote primarly to mod tdu games, but in general it will apply to all games, and as such, support for TDU:SC is planned as well. As the first preparation of that, I've worked on an automated build of our underlying hooking library EasyHook that is 64 bits. After that, I can work on 64bit and DX11 support for Andraste in general. What can Andraste do today? Primarly, you can use andraste to replace bnk files without touching your base game installation, so you can seamlessly add and remove mods without having to have 100 different game installs. Besides that, if you know what you are doing, you can use the very same functionalities, to extend the game with scripts written in C#. As such, I've already created plugins to unlock hardcore mode, allow for bigger bnks (BigBnk) in map sectors, dumping and changing shaders on the fly. What are future Andraste plans? A lot of my to-do list is actually Andraste related, but progress there depends a lot on adoption/use of andraste by the community. Goals that I have include: A simple GUI, comparable to Mod Organizer or other known Mod Managers Making mods available in a central repository, so you can download them from a browser, they know their dependencies and all. Conflict solving when having multiple mods (e.g. multiple car mods may have conflicting databases or conflicting bnk files). This may also be known as priority, in other mod loaders. Game specific conflict solving of the above (i.e. really _merging_ databases and common bank files, instead of choosing either or, which won't work in most cases). BNK Override mode: Have a folder with the contents of the bnk (e.g. a 2db texture) and just edit it and cause the game to reload the bnk (e.g. re-entering the dealership) and it will have the modified 2db file, essentially gettting rid of manually minibnkmanager'ing for every small change. 64bit support DX11 support, DX12 support (hooking, DearImGui) As you can see, that's quite some stuff and I'd appreciate any help and especially also just actively trying to use Andraste in your workflow! Feel free to download Andraste from below, documentation is at https://andrasteframework.github.io/ TDU Modding Studio, BNKPlorer, BigFilePacker, XMBPlorer As said, I can't go too much into detail on those tools, but you can assume that I've written a plethora of tools, all revolving around TDU and covering nearly every asset format that has ever been seen. As such, I've recently dug into "pmi" files, which, according to BEight, was a key missing part for his mapping ventures, so I'll be supplying an editor for those as well, to help him improving his great mapping even further. In theory, we could have a full coverage for almost every file format in a matter of months/years, but it's very low priority for me at the moment and it's also a mixed topic since I can't release TDU Modding Studio, as is. If you're interested in working on some of the games file formats, however, feel free to contact me, I've always wanted to write a wiki containing all file formats and the general file structure (a lot of asset files follow the same outer structure, which helped me uncover pmi quite fast). Yeah, so I guess here goes my wall of text, as mentioned multiple times already, you know where to find me, if you want to comment on or ask anything. I just wanted to put down all (or say a few of those that I can think of right now) of my projects, because I know for sure that a lot of you don't even know half of what I am doing but could be interested in a lot of those projects.

View File Andraste Modding Framework Development Build Andraste Modding Framework Andraste, at it’s core, is a generic modding framework, aiming to bring a modern toolset into old (DX 9) and modern games alike. It does so by injecting a .NET FX Runtime into native applications, allowing us to code the framework in a safe language (C#), which even opens up the possibility to write code modifications in .NET languages, that interface seamlessly with the native code of the game. Note: This current release requires you to be tech-savy and is primarly aimed at mod developers and to find problems with the base-framework. It won't provide major features, yet, so don't sweat it, if you can't get it to run. Note: While this is in the TDU2 category, Andraste can also be used for TDU1 and potentially a lot of other games (unless they are 64 bits or have some protective anti cheat system) How to run Andraste Currently, Andraste only comes with a console launcher, so to launch it, you need to execute the Launcher.exe and pass the path to your game. This can be done by dragging the game onto the Launcher.exe or better: creating a shortcut to do that. If Andraste is running, it should write logging output into the console window of the launcher. At this point, you can start creating mods that will then be loaded into your game. In order for mods to be loaded into your game, place them into the mods folder next to the Launcher.exe Currently, since the Launcher has no proper GUI, all mods are always loaded, you can't toggle them, but you can move them out of the mods folder. If you still have problems launching Andraste, see our Docs on using the Launcher and "installing" mods. Converting an Mod into the Andraste Format First, make sure that you have the permission of the original author to convert/upload the andraste version of the mod. Then, follow our Getting Started Guide What can I use it for, at the moment? If you managed to convert a mod, you can now use (and remove!) these game mods, without changing your unpacked(!) base game (the game needs to be unpacked, because the VFS feature only replaces existing files, it doesn't create packed files yet). While this feature may not be impressive yet (besides removing mods without having to have a backup of your game folder somewhere), there is much more possible with that technique, but that takes manpower and time. Internally, we're currently using the scripting functionality to find out more about the game and progress on different fronts such as multiplayer or asset manager, so definitely stay tuned for further progress, at some point, we will release the TDU2 Modding Framework, that is an additional layer on top of Andraste, providing TDU2 specific features (patching files inside BNKs, running on a packed game, hot reloading, ...)
