  1. Sure, I'll PM you my e-mail later on. ;) I've seen that commercial before, it's quite interesting indeed, and funny. :D
  2. Heh, I myself would probably stick with the BMW as well (being a convertible and all) but, as I mentioned before, my father isn't much into sports cars now, he prefers a vehicle with an amazing grade of espace and confort. Besides, in here diesel is cheaper than petrol, so one more point for the Mercedes on that. I've been checking the taxis around here (which are mostly Mercedes) and it's unbelievable how many miles these cars can run without having any kind of mecanical failures. For example, one of our neighbours has a 250D taxi from around '87-'89 with over 310,000 miles and still runs great. Also, by looking at most taxis around here, the average mileage surpasses 100,000 miles. About cleaning up, I'm sure my father knows how to, he always takes good care of his cars and pays extra attention to the interior. We are seriously thinking about that S400 CDI in especific, as it's the best deal so far, even though the considerably high amount of miles. We indeed will have to go check the car personally and ask for any further information that we may need to know. Thank you for the time put into your comments, they are really helpful and filled us with more knowledge about the S-Class. ;)
  3. Thank you everyone for your replies. ;) Glad to meet a person who's experienced with the S-Class here. Indeed, the main reason my father wants a car like this is because of the amazing interior espace, confort and power. This one especifically is the S400 CDI, which is equipped with a 3997 cc V8 turbo diesel engine producing 246 bhp @ 4000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 560 Nm (413 ft-lb) @ 1700-2600 rpm, and weights around 1990 kg (4387 lb). Well, by looking at these stats I suppose it can be quite the monster with the foot all way down, especially because of it's huge amount of torque. My father has an idea of these car's reliability. He, besides the BMW, has a more "day-to-day" car, a '92 Mercedes-Benz 190E with around 75,507 miles and it never had any problems, besides the regular maintenance. We recently got the answer on the car's mileage (161,557 miles) and we are now in doubt if it would be a good deal to buy a vehicle with so many miles, even though it's lower price and 1 year warranty...The dealer mentioned that most of those miles were done on the highway (100-140 km/h | 60-90 mph) but still, those are just so many miles... Unfortunately there isn't any other S-Class whitin my father's tastes/possibilities at the moment, but it's probably better not to rush for a deal, maybe we should hold on for some time and wait until another one happens to come by, even though this type of car is rare to find around here, especially for a good price.
  4. Pretty nice vehicle! SUV's nowadays are really awesome, from BMW X5's to Range Rovers and so on.
  5. Well, I was just wandering around the forum and found this section, so I thought I would upload these. :) First registered in 06/2002, my dad bought it in used state a year after with little over 11,000 Kms for around 40% less than the price as new. Indeed a pretty good deal for such a great car. The car is registered as a 318Ci but it actually has a 320Ci engine and is also equipped with the M Sport kit, all of this originally installed from factory. It's a pretty unique car, and a beloved one. Sorry for the blurry pictures, I took them with my mobile phone. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- Unfortunately my father wants to sell it, but because he's searching for a Mercedes-Benz S400 CDI for a good price. As of now, one of the best deals is the one shown in the photos below. It's from 2001, has around 161,557 miles, has lots of extra equipment and great looking AMG 18'' rims. My dad wants to sell the BMW especially because, at his age, he doesn't like the rigid feel of the suspension, as it's a sports car, so he wants a confortable, luxurious and powerful vehicle, just like this Mercedes. Even though I'll be sad for the BMW going away, I'll be happy knowing that an equally amazing car is gonna take it's place. ;) Some pictures of the Mercedes: -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) ---- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --
  6. Thanks, glad you like it. :) Thank you also for posting the vid, it sounds much better than the poor samples I provide. ;)
  7. Sorry for this bumpy thread, it's simply to announce that I've updated the 360 sound, for those that may have some interest in it.
  8. Thank you for the advice. :) Fortunately, I can handle those small looping glitches most of the time, and the same with the transitions, altough some indeed need some work (and I know mostly which sounds need it the most). Even though some sounds are still kind off incomplete/bugged, I decide to post them up so people can give some feedback about them. Well, but I guess I should only post up complete (and good) sounds, I'm aware that people must not lose time testing out incomplete/bugged/crappy things...I'll try to finish the sounds that still need some work and have bugs to be fixed later on. About the samples, I really don't have a way to manage to get a better quality because my sound recording system isn't good. :( Again, thanks for the time put into that comment, it's always nice when someone spends some of their time to mention some arguments with constructive criticism. ;)
  9. Finished some more muscle sounds. I tried hard at the Camaro sound but it didn't end up too good, the Mustang GTR II sound is rather weird, the Saleen S281E Coupe sound is probably way too "whistly", and the rest I suppose they're okay. You will need the Magic bnk1.map file. Altough they're not great, I think they sound better than the default ones. Hope you like them. ;) Samples: Camaro Z28: http://www.sendspace.com/file/j6vlui Saleen S281E Convertible: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pwqb1k Saleen S281E Coupe: http://www.sendspace.com/file/q1fjbq Mustang GTR I: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jlz19s Mustang GTR II: http://www.sendspace.com/file/r09g7e Viper SRT-10: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zqplb7
  10. I've been working on muscle car sounds lately and finished these up. Some sound alright, but others still need some work. There are two versions for the '69 and '71 Corvette's: the first one is possibly the one that resembles the Stingray's sound the most, while the second one is a much more louder and heavier sound, but it still needs some more work. The Charger doesn't necessarily sound like it's real life counterpart, but I already expected that, still, it seems to sound good enough. The '57 Corvette and the Shelby GT500 sounds are okay, but someday I'd like to work them up a bit more. You will need the Magic bnk1.map file. Hope you like some of them. ;) EDIT: Shelby GT500 sound fixed: mainly fixed transitions. 11. Well, I've been trying to find some muscle V8's, but I haven't got too lucky so far. Yet I did tried one for the GT500, but doesn't sound too good and it's kinda buggy. I may consider uploading it though. RCViani, thank you, glad you like it. :) I took a peak at that sound and its fabulous, but unfortunately I can't make a good job out of it...I'm just a beginner, and, if not even saladine can manage it, me much less. :( Well, and as for what needs to be changed in the sound, I may give it a look someday.
  12. Finished editing these a while ago, and I think they've came out quite good. There are two versions: one for the Laviolette/Spyder and other for the Spyder T, which is basically the same sound but with a turbocharger. You will need the Magic bnk1.map file. EDIT: Added these second versions which are ment to fix transition glitches. I'm leaving the first ones just in case. I didn't bother adding new samples because they sound rather the same and the quality would stink as always. Anyway, I hope it's better. Samples: Laviolette/Spyder: http://www.sendspace.com/file/aamf6v Spyder T: http://www.sendspace.com/file/h8zsx3
  13. I like that sound! Deep and wild, just like a muscle car-being has to be. :D But yeah, maybe a bit more pitch at higher rpm's would make it even better. ;) Anyways that's a nice one, especially as it's your first official attempt and you made them from scratch.
  14. Just finished these Ferrari sounds. Got the base samples from another game and worked it up a bit to fit into TDU. They sound quite good in my opinion, especially the 360 (though the terrible audio quality of the sample doesn't make it's justice). You will need the Magic bnk1.map file. EDIT: Added a second version of the 575M sound which mainly tries to fix transitions. Mid to high rpm's are probably fixed, but low to mid's aren't yet quite there. EDIT 2: Added a second version of the 360CS sound which is ment to fix the transitions between low-mid and mid-high rpm's, so they should sound smoother now. Eventually still needs some more work put into it but I haven't got much free time lately, so this was kind off a fast update in between busy times.
