because if you change something, it changes the performance overall. if you lower or increase the rpm, you have to change the downforce, drag, suspension settings, weight, gear ratios, almost everything in order to make similar performance. it's also so in the real world. it was a nightmare to find the right performance with real stats. now you're asking to start everything all over just for matching the gauge. on the other hand, the modder opens the interior, rotates one dummy and it's ready :)
