  1. Awesome! We will get damage in the game as well. Has Ferrari changed their mind about letting Ferrari cars to be damaged in games? Or maybe there will not be Ferrari? In any case, I'm really happy for that. Hopefully they will introduce some realism mode instead of the silly "hardcore" mode with moon gravity and ice grip that is in TDU1
  2. It's hard to say anything because you haven't given any description of what happens when you try to start. Could you describe what kind of error message you are getting when you try to start the game?
  3. The normal mode is actually more realistic than the "hardcore" mode. Netiher of them is fully realistic, but in hardcore mode the gravity becomes totally unrealistic (or your car weighs only about 80-100kg). The cars fly from jumps like they would be in moon. The grip in hardcore mode is like you would be driving on a snow. If you play on hardcore mode, and want to make it realistic, I suggest you use the winter mod and avoid any jumps. If you don't use winter mod, the normal mode is more realistic.
  4. Here in Finland, where winter tyres are mandatory during winter months, most people use studded tyres. I've never seen anyone using chains actually.
  5. I just got Logitech G25 and TDU a few months ago so I'm still enjoying TDU almost daily.
  6. If it's still possible, I'd like to change my vote to 59. Opelos_HUN.
  7. August 2010. The sooner the better, but in the end I hope they finish and polish the game so that it won't be buggy when it's released.
  8. It's a nice idea to make one house to be ownable just by one person. It feels strange sometimes when you drive in one of your houses in the game and suddenly you see other people driving in there too. One solution for the 10001st problem could be: apartment buildings could have unlimited number of apartments, but houses could only be owned by one. There could also be separate rentable/buyable garages, where you could store your cars, so that you don't need to have a lot of houses if you have many cars. It would be enough to have one house and then car storage garages in some other place. It would also be nice if people could then put the houses / apartments for sale in the market. Buying furniture etc sounds good too. Maybe a possibility to visit friend's houses would be nice too. You would appear in a couch when you visit a friend and you could see his/her place.
  9. I agree, having automatic transmission that behaves like real (and has R, N & D modes), would be good. The current global automatic is pretty much just computer operated manual.
  10. A realistic cruise, that sounds good. I will try to be there with my Murciélago or Gallardo.
  11. Looks about the same as what we have here now, 30-40cm of snow. Temperatures are around -20°C (-4 °F). Traffic is going normally here though, as it's just a regular winter weather here and everyone uses winter tyres.

  13. As Tipsy said, RUF and Lexus cars are in the game once you install the official TDU MegaPack. Megapack is the only official car pack that has been made for TDU PC. http://www.atari.com/games/test_drive_unlimited_megapack/download
  14. Sounds like a great idea! I'd like to have something like a full-size bus or semi-truck ;)
  15. Hmm, it's hard to choose between those. I don't like the date on either one, and I like 24 hour clock. Finnish date is basically same as UK but with dot as separator instead of slash: 31.01.2009. The date I usually use is this "international" style 2009-01-31 (e.g. YYYY-MM-DD). Maybe a third option with that date and 24h clock? :)
  16. 28 here. It seems Diablo is no longer alone in his age group. :)
  17. I think blinkers would be very useful in online cruises, especially on realistic / slower cruises. Much easier to push the button for blinkers, or even select it from some quick-menu, than having to type "<<<" or ">>>" as we now do when turning.
  18. Telescopic Mildot 4 X 32 Scope should be great.
  19. During the week there was this nice picture of a white BMW parked in front of house. I would have voted for it but it seems to have changed into something else (can't remember whose it was). :)
  20. If you play online, don't use 1.67d community patch. It's not compatible with the official game. The new traffic cars that 1.67d creates are not synchronized / visible to people who are playing with official 1.66A, and they will just crash through these cars without any damage or effect to themselves. If you play offline, it's not a problem.
  21. I think damage in TDU would make a lot sense. It would make crashing to have consequence. If you drive like maniac and crash into everything, it will cost you, just like in real life. I think ideal place to repair cars would be the fuel stations which could also have "service" part where they repair cars. If your car gets too damaged, you need to call tow truck to take the car to a repair location. Since a lot of people don't seem to like damage, I think TDU online world could be divided in two. Arcade mode for those who don't like damage and simulation mode for those who want it realistic. In simulation mode at online play you would only see other players who are in simulation mode (and no Ferraris), thus everyone would have damage enabled. In arcade mode online no one would have damage. Everyone would be satisfied.
  22. Check the Just Cruising area, that's where people post about cruises. Personally I just usually go to the lighthouse at North-West. There are always some people parked at the parking lot next to the light house and usually some of them are ready to cruise. If you like slow / realistic cruises, I'm ready to do those almost always when I'm in TDU (my id is "Osmokv" and "Azoxid"). The speed that I like to cruise is traffic speed or a bit faster, and I stopg at red lights and stop signs. When I'm in a cruise, we usually pass cars only at safe straights where you can see that it's safe and no risk of crashing. If you've never been on realistic cruise, you should try it. I find it much more enjoyable than those full speed "crazy" cruises. :) Of course, having a fast car available, sometimes we want to push down the gas pedal on a nice place, but even then the speed is controlled so that we can avoid crashing. ;)
