  1. When driving the cars added to the game with the community patch I have a huge amount of head bob with acceleration and braking, leading to a constant view of mostly sky / road / sky / road. this is on both internal view and on bonnet view. Has anyone else got this problem or is it just me? Is there a fix for it or any way of editing to resolve the problem? Thank you,
  2. I think this may be have been the result of a random file corruption, all files restored, started again from scratch and gears worked fine this time. It is however worth noting that if you change the gears on the "Miami" Mustang only then the changes do not take effect unless you change them on the standard one too.
  3. Thank you, has given me just what I wanted for TDU2, the "Is Offroad" box, perfect. How do I reset the program so that it doesn't remember previous entries? I have tried giving the Mustang 4 gears as that has always bugged me too. This has however caused a crash to desktop instantly when I try to run the program. I have restored the data.cpr file and got the game working again but whenever I load the Mustang in the Vehicle Editor the gear changes are remembered and I can't edit any other setting without the gearbox changes being applied too, thus killing TDU2 all over again. Thank you, --- Post Updated --- No problem, sorted it, deleted VPE folder and restarted from scratch. Is editing the number of gears & gear ratios something that's known to cause issues?
  4. Thanks, I thought that would be the case. I was hoping that because it came up with a different name in the game it would be a separate car.
  5. I suspect I already know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway. Is it possible to replace just the Miami mustang without replacing the stock one too? Same with the other prize cars. If it is possible how can I do it as I can only identify the files for the stock cars. Thanks
  6. Thank you for the replies, I can appreciate that people have there jobs to do and family life too, we're all in the same boat with that one. I've started putting all my things together on the computer I'll see what I come up with and check back in a few days. If you have or come across a link for me to get in touch with them it would be a great place for me to start and share some ideas, Thanks.
  7. I've been away from computers for quite a while but have done lots of thinking while I was away, The 2 driving games I played regularly were Test Drive Unlimited 2 & GTR2. I was especially disappointed with TDU2. I like driving & playing on roads and the freedom to roam not being stuck to the confines of a race track, that said I spend easily as much time tweaking, tuning and modding so GTR2 has a huge appeal that TDU2 never had and doesn't look like it ever will. Back to the subject... Do we have as a community of computer games & racing game enthusiasts, programmers & modders - enough skills between us all to make the best racing game there will ever be? I have been playing with an idea based on Google earth, I have put lots of thought into it and have lots of ideas but I'm not a great programmer and couldn't even begin to do anything on that scale. I do have much to contribute though as I'm good with cars, physics, tuning, textures & skinning. My thoughts would be that using Google Earth we would have the whole planet to be able to drive around, including the race tracks for the circuit racing fans. Using autogen similar to flight simulators to start with then once online anyone can update details / add models to be more accurate to the real area. I don't want to rattle on for too long in case no one else is interested... But if anyone else is interested in exploring this further I'll share all my ideas &, thoughts and we can take it from there. I'm posting this on the GTR forum too, hopefully we can pool resources. Thanks.

    Idea?

Right, In the hope that one day full modding is possible for offline at least, I've made a list of all the power to weight ratios for the A1 - A7 cars to try and see how the classes work, going by power to weight alone the classes overlap a little and there are a few oddities that stick out from the crowd. Any ideas how the classes are actually set in game? As a rough average I've taken the classes to be based on power to weight as: A7: Up to 170 Bhp/Tonne A6: 170 - 210 Bhp/Tonne A5: 210 - 240 Bhp/Tonne A4: 240 - 285 Bhp/Tonne A3: 285 - 325 Bhp/Tonne A2: 325 - 415 Bhp/Tonne A1: Over 415 Bhp/Tonne There are 12 of the original cars out of 60 classes A1 - A7 that fall outside of these figures, most only by a few Bhp/Tonne. The two that are really far out are the Nissan GTR which has 279 which means that it would fit in A4 instead of A2 and The Caterham has 449 which would put in in A1 instead of A3. I can type up the Bhp/Tonne of all the cars so you can analyse the results and feedback, ideas if you want. But give me a couple of days to do it. I'll start doing the same for the B and C classes. I'll also start making a list of power to weigh ratios of other potential cars from the real world that may get made to download so that we can work out which class they would fall into.
  9. How does it revert back to the original physics file? does it re-download it or does it have it backed up offline somewhere?

    Idea?

Might seem like a bit of a noob question but is car modding up to the stage where we can change the class a car goes into and give it real the specs? whole project seems a little pointless if the cars are just a replacement body for already existing cars and can never be anything more.

    Idea?

Thats' what I meant with root file renaming, sorry if that wasn't very clear. A small program just makes it a little more user friendly to the less experienced players.

    Idea?

I'm having a boring start at work today so I'm thinking about modding and TDU2... I'm just thinking out loud here see what you think. It seems to me that the biggest problem with adding cars to TDU2 is that you have to replace an existing car... (I know that there are a couple of unused slots available.) Would it be possible to choose between several different folders containing cars? For instance replace every car on the game with an A7 car, then have a different car folder where every car is replaced with an A6 car, and so on.. Then possibly a little program to choose which folder to start up from or a just root file renaming to choose? TDU2 is good in that it starts up very quickly when you wanted to change class of cars it's no big hassle to exit and select a different file. There would be no limit (apart from disc space) to how many different files there could be. I'm sitting here drawing up lists of cars and groups and how to organise which cars into which groups. I'm currently thinking road cars A1 - A7 by power to weight ratio, 4x4's, Rally cars, Historic cars, Race cars - GT, Formula etc. (There could be as many groups as we can make cars to fit in them.) I know that this would have to be a big project and a lot more add on cars would need to be made first, plus I suspect that this wouldn't work for online play but I'm not fussed about that anyway as I have no internet at home.
  13. Handling mod for offline use would be brilliant. For me the most important mod would be to fix the stalling problem with the clutch and manual gearbox.
  14. Anyone else notice that all the traffic dissapears as you get near 200 mph? Or have I found another bug and it only does that to me?
  15. Is there any way I can change which car is replaced by a mod? I've been away from TDU for a while and since then mods have started coming in installer format. For instance I downloaded the Diablo SV and it replace the Murcelago coupe, I like the coupe and would have preferred it to replace the roadster. I would like to download the R8 but it replaces the KZ1, which I would like to keep also, how would I make the R8 replace one of the Gallardo's? Before I would have just changed the filenames but everything being in an installer now I can't do that. Any help most appreciated, Thanks..
  16. Hi, Is there any way to turn off NPC cars in offline free roam mode? I'm quite happy to just drive around at my own speed and explore the roads on my own but the NPC cars keep nudging and baiting me or just plain hitting me at speed for no reason whatsoever. Any help most appreciated, Thanks.
