released Doctor G - Ferrari F40 sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Why is this sound completly different from the first version I made before? I've just listened a recording of a regular F40 and it sounds exactly like in this second version, so I suspect this car to be a regular F40 and not a LM, anyone has a clue? I know that depending on how the recording is performed the result can dramatically change but not to that point. And btw thanks for the enthusiastic feedback all, I appreciate (enthusiastic or not anyway, I just like to have some feedback). -
Thanks searching for that car. I already made a sound mod weeks ago based on the first video that you posted and i'm not too satisfied with it, because like TDUFREAK says the quality isn't that good, it's hard to convert it in TDU (it doesn't sound loud enough in the game and if I set a higher volume it's too saturated). Plus the guy doesn't go that fast and the accelerations are not very long, that means short samples or non linear samples based on multiple copy and paste. Also, I don't know if the pitch is high enough. The result can sound good at the first listening but you will quickly notice all its imperfections, hear by yourself : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v1BCQxcpjw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v1BCQxcpjw The second is useless and in the third one I have the same problem than in the first one, the accelerations are not long enough and it's difficult to make some linear samples with it, but I may give it a try anyway, I'll post the result here.
-
You don't get it, the car must go at all speeds so I can make all corresponding samples (like I said in the 1st post...). In your video the car never goes slow so I cannot make a low rpm sample, except if I "cheat" by lowering the pitch of a middle rpm sample but the result won't be as good. However, I don't like to come back on something I've said so nevermind, my bad, i'll do it as it is (but send me a low rpm recording of the car if you find some, the sound will only be better with that. A startup and an idle sound would be nice too.). I'll set it on the DB4 bnk.
-
I may have typed too fast when I said i will do it, ok it's a nice sound but there is no low rpm in this so I can't do anything. Really sorry, but if you find a better one I will still do it. Man i really appreciate but none of these files can actually be used for a sound mod. Take a look at the requirements in my first post. There must be no voices or tunnel echoes, the accelerations are too short for making samples plus constant speed would have been much more better as you have the possibility to do it (low rpm constant speed, middle rpm constant speed and high rpm constant speed. Make these the longest possible so the samples can be long enough), the recordings are parasited by various noises etc. Note : I asked to reopen this thread but before you people post again in it think twice, read the requirements because I don't have anymore time to waste watching useless bad videos that I can find by myself in 20 seconds and repeating myself 50 times about the stuff posted, for nothing coz there is always someone to post rubbish stuff again and again like if all what I said had no importance for them. I will only answer to those who post valuable stuff (kickass stuff eventually, read the definition of "kickass" maybe...). Stick to default TDU cars, respect my requirements or you're just wasting your time. [mod edit:] Please do not swear or use asterisk's to mimic swearing, thanks.

Help with Sound files please. *New Member*
Doctor G. replied to vaughan34's topic in Tools / Others Mod
I don't understand what is that file or what you need to know. if you already made sounds for other games then you already know the basics, you just need to replace the original samples with yours. You need tdu modding tools for this, and an audio editing program for working on the samples, that's all. That shouldn't be too hard I think coz TDU sounds are really basic and in a low quality compared to some other games... -
This is one of my first sound mods, posted months ago in the betas and now back with almost no change. I don't make conversions anymore because it was cool to learn the basics but now I prefer to make my own samples (even from crappy Youtube videos!). This one comes from RFactor I think, I worked a lot on the original samples to enhance them and the downshifts are samples of mine made with a Youtube video, so it's only half a conversion :ppp. Kudos to the original modder anyway (I don't know who he is). Preview : Download link : http://www.mediafire.com/?bi7ul5i01l8bdmi Thanks for feedback.

Like I say in my previous post, this has nothing to do with the sound volume (that you cannot set too loud anyway, because you may get too much gain and take the risk to not hear the secondary sounds enough, like horn, other cars etc.), it must be adjusted with precision. The problem seems rather to be a bug in TDU modding tools. I don't know why you talk about the sound format either, if I really needed to know this, then I wouldn't have released a single sound mod yet (plus Urban said exactly the same thing in his post). Thanks trying to help anyway mate.

released Doctor G - McLaren F1 GTR sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks for the tip man but I tried it and it didn't change anything, do you have this stuttering yourself? If yes then it could be a bug in that bnk, if not then I really wonder where it comes from and how to fix it (using another bnk maybe). -

Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks Damo. This one was designed to make your ears bleed and leave you with no words if you see what I mean... (well, you're the exception I guess). A question : anyone get some crackles in the sound when playing in hood view? (like in the default Ruf sounds). -
Ok, so in fact it's not the volume adjustment that seems to be the cause but rather a bug in TDU Modding Tools. Sometimes I import a sample in the bnk and the engine sound goes mute with no reason, like if the bnk was corrupted (and when I try to play the sample in VLC or anything directly from the bnk by double-clicking on it, it is muted as well) . The solution is to re-import the exact same samples or the whole bnk with a backup, and then it works again.
-
Unfortunatly not, I'm just an amateur, but I wish I was. Thanks all for the comments I'm happy you enjoy that sound.
-
These samples aren't as perfect as I would like but I have not enough time and still a lot of stuff to release before TDU2 comes out, so here it is, good enough I think, with some little imperfections, that most users should not notice though. Hope you like it. Source : Sound mod : Download link : Mac Laren F1 GTR TDU sound mod by Doctor G.zip Thanks for comments.

released Doctor G -Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Thanks Pat and Viper. Someone told me, with reason, that it was not right to set a Jaguar sound on a Mercedes and it's something I can perfectly understand, but I really like driving that car so I needed something else than the atrocious default sound (anyone prefers the default sound??). That Jaguar sound is so mesmerizing and pretty close to a real CLKGTR sound that I couldn't resist. Now if someone can find a real good onboard recording of that car then I will do it again because I think it has one of the most deep and hypnotizing engine sound ever. -
released Doctor G - Ferrari F40 sound mod
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Well I just mean that I'm concerned about the sound to be realistic, fitting to a particular car. So, as I spend a lot of time searching for good and specific audio sources and that I work hard on these, I naturally think that it's an heresy to set this sound mod on a Porsche who doesn't have the same engine sound in reality. And even it if had a similar sound anyway, I made the samples from a real F40 (ok it's a LM I know ehhe) and I think it just fits for that car and nothing else, but it's just my purist point of view don't take it seriously :ppp Will do, just need time to fix little things. Thanks to all for the comments. -

Thanks man glad you like it, I think it's one of my best sound mod so far, and I wonder why users aren't more excited about it or just why they don't leave more negative comments. I knew no one cared about that car anyway :((( -
I'm currently trying to make a sound mod for the F1 GTR : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHfCWdsSwXM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHfCWdsSwXM It's almost done :D, some few days of testing and little adjustments and I think it will be good enough for a release.

Thanks for the opinions but finally I agree with camryt, it just sounds bad and doesn't worth a release... Maybe one day i'll find a better video :(((

released Doctor G - F430 Scuderia sound mod (paul9444 request)
Doctor G. replied to Doctor G.'s topic in Car Customization Mods
Only if you're the girl on your avatar image and if we organize a private meeting not too far from where I live :DDD -
Too many links do not match at all my simple requirements, so starting by now I just won't answer anymore to those who don't make the effort to read (and understand) my first post, making the thread 10 times bigger and confused than it should be. Please don't post anymore links about non-TDU vehicles, stick to the default ones, even if there is a mod (I made a little list of the cars I'd really like to do in the first post...). And btw refrain posting for the moment I really haven't got time to check everything now (but will do), thank you.
