  1. I would have posted this in the betas but for some reason i cannot start a new thread there, so I post it here... I've found a DVD with some onboard footage of a F288 GTO (ultra rare stuff :D) : ...and I tried to make a sound mod with it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFZLYwwpbDI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFZLYwwpbDI But the result is half satisfying : First, it may not sound so realistic when the car goes fast. This is due to the fact that the high rpm loop is based on a middle rpm sample (as the car never reaches very high speeds in the video). Plus the onhigh sample is not very long, so I had to copy and paste to make it longer which is not very good... Second, I am not sure if it's high pitched enough. Looks like the driver is going easy on the throttle and maybe he doesn't push the needle to the max, which means that I should set a higher tone to the sound mod (because he higher tone of the mod is based from the higher tone that the car reaches in the video). But if i do this, the result sounds really ridiculous (it's already weird, i would have used another recording if I had one), more like a Vespa than a sportcar and then I prefer to not release it. For example, in that other video, it sounds more high pitched when the guy push the throttle at 2:38 (and he doesnt even push it to the max) : oKRhFVV-BiU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKRhFVV-BiU What do you think? Shall I leave it like it is, or forget the idea to make a sound from this video? (Which probably means that no real sound for the F288 will be made until a long time, I don't even think it has ever been done before). Thanks for help. [mod edit:] Please only embed a maximum of 2 videos per post, thanks!
  2. Hi, I received your request for that sound but none of these videos can be used for making a sound mod, please see the requirements in this thread : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=17142. Good luck!
  3. You probably mean "...you were" and it may be about the "modder" icon that is now appearing under my nickname. No problem man I didn't even notice these, thanks anyway!
  4. The original video : The sound mod : Download link : http://www.mediafire.com/?fgdyz19dx1nwgu5 See also my first version : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=16561 Thanks for comments. EDIT (june 15 2010) : IT MAY BE A REGULAR F40 IN THE VIDEO AND NOT A LM SO I RENAMED THE THREAD
  5. It means that the samples don't fit together because the tonalities aren't adjusted like they should. For example, I can hear that the offlow is too high and so is the onmid etc. You may think the transitions are smooth but they aren't and this screw the realistic feeling (plus these samples sounds really synthetic).
  6. Thank you. Maybe you noticed that the pitch was too high in that release so I've lowered it and now it sounds more like in the video. I've changed the offhigh loop too, the previous one sounded weird ... I have posted a new download link today, sorry for inconvenience. And by the way, as it is pretty hard to test all these sounds alone, I would be glad if someone who have a good ear and who knows how sound modding works from a technical point of view (that means "I like it" or "i don't like it" is not enough) could help me to test some of these sound mods, let me know in private message thanks.
  7. Hehe well said :p Thanks all, i'm happy you like it.
  8. Man there is an error, my bd is may 21 and not april 21 ahahahah thanks anyway

  9. I really wanted to find some good onboard recording of this car, but I found nothing, so I used this Jaguar XJR9 video instead (similar engine sound) : Preview (this is the beta and the release has some little changes) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqI4Fha5rPI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqI4Fha5rPI Download link : Mercedes Benz CLK GTR-Jaguar XJR9 TDU sound mod by Dr. G.zip Thanks for comments.
  10. I did not use your video as we both concluded that the quality wasn't good enough. The sound mod based on it wasn't that bad but something better could be done. Instead, I used this one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLgtK_a8afs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLgtK_a8afs And here is the final sound mod, to be released soon after some little adjustments : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsV_NAwsXNA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsV_NAwsXNA EDIT > Sound mod release : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=18749
  11. Thanks a lot for this one, it's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for, do you know what car it is? I made a 250 GTO sound mod with it and it's not bad : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9rwzvbicgY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9rwzvbicgY Just some few adjustments and I will release it. EDIT : beta released here > http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=19709 Hi man this is nice, thank you for these awesome files, I didn't check everything so far but no doubt that some great sound mods can be done with this. I'll inform you by private message about my progress and will send you the bnk's for testing. Thanks again! Note : Please people do not post anymore links for the moment, I've got no time to check the previous ones already.

  13. Hi paul sorry i've lost these sounds and the links are dead now, could you send me some new links or send me the whole stuff by mail? I will try to answer you fast then. Thanks.
  14. Source: Sound mod : Download link : http://www.mediafire.com/?24cn78ppory52iy Thanks for comments.
  15. Thank you, but after all, I regreat to have released this one, it definitly has a problem concerning the high rpm's (because there is no high rpm's in the video source) and something is globally missing, maybe the lack of reaction from the forum users speaks for itself.
  16. Is it? I used this sound recently after a long time and the volume sounds a bit too low now. Do you think I should modify it? Not yet, I'll try to do it soon. Thanks all for the comments.
  17. Thanks for your support :p. You're right, low rpm are a bit too "soft" due to the fact that in the recording, the car never goes slow. I had to cheat by mixing the onlow loop with another f430 sample, keeping the volume low enough so the sound still sound homogeneous ; but the result can never be as good as if I could use a real low rpm recording anyway.
  18. Yet another sound mod for that car, requested by paul9444 (see this thread : http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=17133) who provided the mp3 that I used to make the sound : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vce8b4KSHnE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vce8b4KSHnE Preview link (release has little modifications) : Download link : http://www.mediafire.com/?qe6zh3qs85yb3by Thanks for comments
  19. I cannot find any recording of the ME so I made those jaguar XJR9 samples from this video in replacement : http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetevovideos/223761/jaguar_xjr9.html (starts at 3.51) I don't know if their engines sounds similar or not (both have a V12) but maybe it's better than the default sound. Preview (with slight modifications) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPqkUeyADEU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPqkUeyADEU EDIT : No more download sorry it's really a bad sound that never should have been released and I'm surprised that no one left a negative comment about this :(( (thanks anyway, iJesusHot :D) Please don't hesitate to leave a negative comment with me if you feel it's deserved, I'll never get offended like some immature nerd, harass you by PM or go cry to a moderator because you say your truth to me, and that can be of a great help too ! I'm always interested when someone has a critic that can make a sound better (or trashed lol). For example : "Doc this should have stayed in the WIP section seriously, a released sound should be better than this, how dare you pretend this is a final version? Respect the users of this forum who expect quality and hard work instead of this so-so crap done in 2 days and that you are in a hurry to post to satisfy your ego !". (ok I exagerate a bit :p) Of course it is pleasing to have positive comments when deserved but really, negative comments or just critics about that or this are also very useful for me if you feel that something is wrong. I do all the testing alone and it's not easy sometimes. Thanks for your sincerity !
  20. Sorry for the delay, I had no PC for almost 3 weeks... Ok, I've made 3 different versions based on 3 different videos including the one you posted. Need a bit of time to enhance these and I will release. Already posted, not good enough to me. Not sure, will try... For what car btw? Recording is a bit poor :( Sounds good but I have already 2 f430 sound mods in preparation and a lot of sound mods for it exist already so I don't think I will do it soon... Recording is too poor. Excellent, I will do it. For what TDU car btw?
  21. Do you know what is the function of that file exactly and what we could edit if it was possible?
  22. Thanks for the file. So Bimmer was right, it worth a look and it is actually recorded onboard, so there is no problem for making samples plus the quality is pretty good. Just one question : the mp3 is at 128kbps, is this the original file? More bitrate could help for enhancing dynamics. I've made this mod based on it : I tried to make it sound as close as possible to the original recording. The result is a bit weird to me, but still interesting, I don't know. If you think it worth a release tell me and I'll send the file for testing or post it in the betas then we'll see. And by the way if you like this one and have other audio recordings like that I'm interested because I'm always hungry for fresh samples :DD EDIT : Mod released -> http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?p=299279#post299279
