    You must install as an administrator.

    To do that, use your right mouse button and choose as administrator to open the program.

  2. I have discoverd 2 more errors in the full mod (probably also in the lite mod).

    1st one is the butterflies wich are not in the mod.

    2nd one is this palm tree:

    Personally i'm a exotic plants enthousiast and this palm looks very ugly (no offence)! No palm on earth looks like that. You can use the new texture from within my mod wich has a proper palm leaf:attachment.php?attachmentid=13936&stc=1&d=1285866730

     

    Maybe u also want to include a proper papaya tree:

  3. I have some good news, Hawaiian Paradise v 0.1.5 is out!

    Great thing is the compatability with Island Paradise. You can now install the full version of Island Paradise without the black map! As you can see above, the Hawaiian Paradise also has a new GPS made by Trainfield. Also the sand texture is new.

    Further improvements from v0.1.4 are:

    Bamboo fences instead of metal.

    The new Papaya trees are now proper Papaya trees!

    Well you are probably right. Hihihi. :p

     

    Dunno is it related or not, but after patching my game to 1.68, everything I try to change in hud.bnk, will result in TDU CTD. Even plain extracting fla0026.2db and re-importing it without even changing a thing, will result in CTD. I've noticed that same thing will happen if we try to change most of Frontend files. :(

     

    Thank you for you answer! Sadly it still does not work for me... I tried it with patch 1.66A, 1.67d and 1.68B. Always it wil CTD. Even with plain extracting en re-importing...:crying:

  5. It's because it isn't released yet... Actually, it should already been released but... due to some unexpected events, it's postponed till sometime later during this day. What kind of unexpected event, you may ask? Well...

     

    You'll be really happy to know that ''black roads bug'' is FINALLY solved! Yep, you've heard it right! Thanks to edwin for opening Road Texture problems topic, and Djey for replying in such a short notice, we now have a workable solution. Djey added new option called ''Force Mipmap Count'' to his TDUMT, and it works like a charm! So it's so long you ugly black road thingy and hello awesome new road!

     

    I just can't express enough of gratitude to Djey for making our problems go away!

     

    Since I have to update some of the textures with correct number of mipmaps and since I have to edit ReadMe .pdf with new info, v0.9.1 will be a bit late. But boy oh boy, these are some good news, aren't they? :p

  7. Hey edwin, really enjoying your mod, but i have a question:

     

    I accidentaly installed the wrong files while switching weather mods.

    If i uninstall HawaiianParadise, and re-install it without the files i messed up on (plants, trees, birds), (i had IslandParadise before) Does it revert to IP or to default game settings?

    It should reverse to IP. What files did you mess up on? The plants/trees/birds are no different than Island paradise V0.9...

  9. 9 mipmaps is very huge imo ??! What's texture size in px ?

     

    I could try to alter mipmaps in 2DB files during DDS>2DB (kinda 'force mipmap count' operation for advanced users). Please send me the DXT1 DDS file so I'll try to output it as 5-mipmap 2DB...

     

    The file I use is the standard 256 x 128 pix.

    The file I attach is only for testing (just a yellow X).

  10. The programs I tried now are:

    DXTBmp 4.00.96

    Photoshop CS5 with plugin

    Paint.net

    Gimp 2.6with plugin

    DDS converter 2.1

    They all didn't work....:(

    I used different settings in all these programms but that didn't help.

     

    So if you are succesfull in making road mods, please tell us how you made it.:thumbsup:

  11. As you probably know, Illusion Island Paradise mod have a problem with the road texture. He has spend day's to find the solution. I tried to help him but I failed also...

    I am pretty sure what the problem is. I think its the mipmap count.

    The file cachecrossroad_detail.2DB has 6 mipmaps and is dxt1-like. If you make it a dds file it has 5 mipmaps (witch is o.k.).

    Now the part where all goes wrong: If you use the DXTBmp programm to open the file and save the file without modding, than you get 7 mipmaps. 2 to much! After making the file 2db its 8 mipmaps. The DXTBmp program should save just the 5 mipmaps. The result is black road textures in the distance.

    So I tried another approach. I tried to not use the DXTBmp programm. Instead I open the dds file directly with photoshop (CS5 with nvidia dds plugin). I open the file without mipmaps and than try to save it. I saved the file with 5 mipmaps and no other adjustments as dxt-1 argb file (also tried rgb). After that I conferted it back to the 2db file and its has 6 mipmaps. Thats just great! I thought... The new texture isn't black in the distance witch confirms my idea of the mipmaps. Only problem is that the new texture is blue with green in the distance :cry:. From close it looks ok. So i am sure that the file saving is not done right!

    My question: Is there a way to make the DXTBmp program use the 5 mipmaps instead of 7? If not, what is the correct saving method in photoshop?

    There are quite a few persons who should know the answer, becouse their textures has the right amount of mipmaps. Please Help!

    I and probably Illusion will be very happy with the solution!

    The Hawaiian Paradise mod now includes the HD Mod and also the bushes and grass settings from Island Paradise. If you want to combine this mod with the Island Paradise mod, than make sure to install the Island Paradise mod before the Hawaiian Paradise mod. If you wan't to install other environment mods, than make sure to install the Hawaiian Paradise last.

  14. @2cv super gt: can you still tell me what the *.3dd files are. These files are also used for car's. I am very curious about it. The only thing I found about it, is that it is a ArcGlobe Document. But I have my doubt with it... I spend hours to find the solution. How do I open it properly. And how did you find out how to use it? Maybe its to difficult for me, but i would like to know. Please share your expertise.

  15. Great mod edwin! One question: I have TDU HD but don´t know how it works. I just know it makes the plants and all that stuff better. Will this take the detail down again or will it just add another color to the plants? Plz someone answer!

    Don't worry! It will not alter the HD mod.:)

  16. Tropical Depression is fire! Drove almost whole night with that weather. Sunset was great too, and so is cloudy time.

     

    One question, could I borrow those lines for the next IP version? It would save me tons of time, and my ones wouldn't even be close to that effect. :)

     

    Offcourse, you have to credit Eternalsky for it. I did not make it. So its great with me, if Eternalsky have no problem with it (probably not).:)
