  2. Hello Racers, Our previous progress report was about the Kyoto updates and the new lighting system. Since then, Scawen has done more work on the lighting which may be interesting for some readers. Eric continued with Kyoto for some time. He has now moved onto South City, which isn't yet ready to show but we can show you some more pictures from Kyoto. Originally the plan was to minimally update the existing track areas to make them work well with the new lighting and shadows. But some of the tracks were very old and Eric wanted to do extensive updates to bring them up to a more modern standard. 3. The moment many of you have been waiting for is here, Wales Rally has finally made it to DiRT Rally 2.0. Situated in the hilly regions of Wales, this rally pushes drivers to the limit as they navigate the often wet and slippery forest sections and high speed sections in between. Receiving little traffic aside from forestry maintenance, the road surface is made up of heavier gravel on a hard-packed road base creating an unforgiving rally for drivers with many hazards dotted around the course. Wales Rally is accessible in-game through My Team, Custom Championships and Time Trial. If you are already in an active Championship you’ll have to either complete or abandon it in order to have Wales Rally selectable in the next one. Video: Haven’t seen Wales Rally in DiRT Rally 2.0 yet? Take a look at our launch video where we talk about the location, offer some tips and take on the Stages ourselves. You can either watch it above or on our YouTube channel where you’ll find additional DiRT Rally 2.0 content. Wales Rally

  6. From Reiza Renato interview: RD: Speaking of staffing, I hear plenty of people on the forum asking if Niels is still involved in the project (being something of a gMotor expert but missing from the rF2 Reiza DLC credits) – is he still with you? RS: Niels is still onboard as a consultant but his involvement had already gradually decreased over the years as his hardware business grew and took most of his time. He still has a peek in from time to time to provide some insights, which is most welcome as he has the uncanny ability of coming up with good ideas and finding solutions in whatever area that happens to catch his attention. With regards to the day-to-day nitty&gritty of physics development he´ll be a bit less involved as he is understandably not keen on completely revamping his physics tools for the new engine and tyre model, but that in itself isn´t a big change as Niels has always enjoyed a loose commitment with us where the door just sort of remains open for him to come and do whatever peaks his interest - he did usually find time to do most of the baseline physics for our cars but general physics development hasn’t ever been a one-man job. In any case he´ll still be helping us out whenever we have some issue or a funky new bit of aero or suspension to figure out, and for all other cases we still have the products of nearly a decade of collaboration and a physics database covering pretty much any type of vehicle to draw from for years to come.
