[headline]'MURICA[/headline]
What's this about?
Earlier this year, Prophecy came up with a great idea for some community competition. What is it, I hear you ask? I'll let him explain in his own words:
Have you been living under a rock? Time Attack is a real world discipline of motorsport where the winner is not based on physical track position or amount of laps completed, its purely based on lap time. You know the rivals leaderboards? Time Attack. Think qualifying laps, except you can bin the car and still win the race, as long as you qualified first. All you have to do is set the fastest time beat Camel. So, each week a car or car restrictions and a track will be chosen by the winner of the previous week. It can be any car, or it can be car restrictions such as: Class, Performance Index, FWD/RWD/AWD, Mid-Engined, Naturally Aspirated, Pre-1970, etc. That is up to you, if you win. :smig: You can choose any track, with any weather. The competition will run from Monday-ish to Saturday (ending at 00:00 UTC/GMT), which should allow plenty of time for the winner to choose the next track.
Think of it as turboduck's own Rivals, but with some proper rivalry in the community.
The Rules:
- You must use the car (or a car that meets the restrictions) and track chosen by the previous winner.
-
Tuning/Setups are allowed this week.
- Dirty laps do not count, stay off the lawn kids.
- Laps do not have to be from a standing start (flying laps count).
- If you already have a faster lap recorded outside of the competition, this does not count, you must record another and take a picture for proof. Banana for scale.
- If you win, don't forget to chose a car/track for the next week before Monday!
-
Make sure to do your times in RIVALS (or free play), they will not be recorded in test drive.
- The time attack ends Saturday at 23:59 GMT and the winner has 24 hours to choose, then it defaults to the person in second if no choice is made.

I don't understand any of them. Let alone why there are bones everywhere. :hmmm:
-
I wonder what they're up to. :hmmm:

Thread cleaned AGAIN.
This is the last time that I will be deleting posts and PMing users or putting them in the moderated users group. From now on users will be getting outright bans(temporary or permanent) for bringing arguments from external sites onto turboduck publicly on the forum. If you see another argument starting on here, REPORT it and do not post in the thread yourself otherwise you may also be banned.
The report button can be found at the bottom left of every post.

3:44.067 in the Ferrari 365, sorry.
-
I must say that it looks much better with proper pictures from people and not just 10 pictures of a scantily clad woman, an orange cat, a beach and some sort of ball.
Maybe we should start locking people in cupboards unless they use it?
-
Let me know how you get on with the P1 race at Brazil with no assists
I can tell you now that I will have no issues with that. :p
Apart from possibly stupid AI crashing into me like they usually do on unbeatable.

Finally got around to having a go on this and wow, it looks absolutely stunning on my PC.
I've got a GTX770, one of the superclocked ones that factory overclocked by a fair bit and then further overclocked by me paired with a i5-4670k at about 4GHz and I can run it with everything on the highest settings at 1080 and a pretty solid 60fps. :hmmm: Maybe there was an update that fixed performance issues.
The handling doesn't feel quite the same as Forza 6 on the Xbox but then again I don't think I've used the cars I tried in Apex on Forza 6.
I do like where Forza is headed especially with a full Horizon 3 on PC too.

Acquaintances.
Is it Autumn yet?

Had to be hassan, mau and Sue for me this week.
A few other worthy shots but those three just pipped it.

Nice one, cheers for posting that.
Will add them to my BTCC motorsport catchup list.

Game of Thrones. Battle of the bar stewards.
Best episode of Game of Thrones by far. It more than made up for the slow season so far and you can tell this is where all of the budget went.
The Red Wedding? That was an epic episode and set the bar extremely high but this episode nailed it. Will he, won't he? He did? He didn't? He died? He's alive? I didn't have a clue what was going to happen which made it even better.
And dragons!
It might be a contender for the best episode of anything that I've ever watched. Nothing else immediately comes to mind that could be as good as this was.
-
Summer break you say? That gives me plenty of time to catch up on the days racing so I'm not going to complain. :p
-
3:51.003 in the Shelby Daytona from a standing start.
Skylark definitely has plenty of time left in his Porsche...
-
The grandstands are empty with less than an hour to go before quali. If this is anything to go by, this GP won't be around for long as it won't be lining Bernies pockets as much as he'd like.
A few crashes already from Ricciardo and Perez with the clock showing 0:00 time left in P3. Woops.
-
Great post and thanks for pulling all of this together. I've credited you in the post on our homepage.
I wonder if they'll more strictly enforce the use of stability control on the safety car now...Where's the fun in that? :(
-
Okie dokie, that's my planned car out of the window.
-
I can see why some of the drivers are complaining about the run off areas and there looks to be only a small amount of that special crash absorber barrier.
Should be a few places where they can overtake though so if we're lucky, it won't be a dull race.
-
That was great how he kept such a big angle for so long and so consistently.
Bet he needed a change of trousers after that though!
-
Sue me. :p
You so asked for this, Mr Sue.
- Eudemon, killalldude and Dan G

Is this the one without the chicanes?
-
I know this is from the F1 game but it shouldn't be too far from reality. I can see a there being a few accidents to be had in the tight uphill part in the middle of the circuit. Qualifying should be good though seeing who can push their luck if there aren't too many red flags.

Thanks for posting this up Scott!
After a day of one not being posted, anyone else can post a new one in a new thread. You don't have to wait for us doddering old slow people to do it.
