Interesting read Some have said disabling CPU Core 0 for the game (Task Manager, Processor Affinity) which spreads out the decryption load to other cores (not being hammered by other applications) reducing or removing the stutters. Others have not noticed any performance improvement but perhaps their GPU is also sub-optimal.

I didn't think the new Civic Type R was that old and now they're showing a new new one? 340+ bhp and they still can't get under 5.0 seconds to 62 :hmmm:

I read something a few months ago that is quite concerning for a family show if true; there was a hint that there may be more fowl language that potentially goes uncensored because no BBC. Maybe they'll edit and offer 2 versions of the episode?

I know he's older and probably more mature nowadays compared to Friendsadays but I do hope he can come across a bit less serious and explore the upper ranges of his vocal pitch (instead of that deep gruff voice he seemed to stick with in Season 23)

30FPS was actually much worse, unplayable in fact. I've since turned Dynamic Optimsation back on, gone back to uncapped (60) FPS and set details from Low to High, and I get pretty much the exact same performance as before (60 Low) but with nicer graphics. Hopefully PG fix the stuttering and controller mapping issues soon. I'm not sure if I have auto Store updates enabled however. I was also very surprised to be prompted to start a free trial of a paid Groove music service. I mean, it's my music files on 'my' OneDrive storage (which I technically have already paid for via Office365). So uh, no thanks.

Ace completion requires winning club races. Club races still requires club members to be on your same LAN. So unless the 'Ace Project' profile hack (which requires starting a new profile) still exists you're probably out of luck. Options > Audio or Options > Online probably has a setting to mute microphones.

Santtu and I played last night (he was on console, PC here). His vehicle was very laggy and we had no way to communicate, so it wasn't all that fun. My game crashed during during a race after an hour of teaming up. I then had to repeat many of the same races (or at least the same tracks) in single player. When you join together it doesn't teleport players together, so the leader basically has to set a GPS route for everyone to meet up.

Make it a pack of 4X Gold in the back of a Ute and I'd much rather a steak over some prawns thanks. :) Seriously, hardly anyone here likes Fosters these days and you rarely would see prawns at a BBQ here (we don't call them shrimp unless quoting that same line).

Same time as our TC cruise last week I guess. That's assuming I still want to play it by then. Either I've forgotten how small the original FH map was or this '4x' bigger remark is a bit of a stretch. We're still nowhere near TDU1 map size I reckon.

Good to know it's not just my PC then. I didn't even realise that I'm missing all the DLC content (presuming it goes straight to your garage). The loyalty cars take a while to be given, although I miss out on some having played FH2 (barely) on X360 instead of X1. I wonder what experience I can achieve if setting the game back to 30FPS like the console.

Well I officially need a new PC as my rig is unable to keep it locked at 1080p60 with everything on low. I know the draw distances are larger but I'm not 100% certain on the optimisation here. I could make things prettier and go with 30FPS but that doesn't suit me. I have to assume it's my Intel i5 3570k @ 4.1GHz that can't keep up given I'm also running a SSD and Titan X. As for wheels: The Fanatec is recognised but has absolutely no force feedback and huge input lag. So I download Logitech drivers and switch to PS (G25) mode. This does have average (just about good enough) force feedback, but still a tiny bit too much input lag for my liking (could possibly relate to system performance). The steering feel overall is just too woolly and imprecise to nail the desired racing line, but it is driveable for the most part. Physics are ok, passing the burnout test. No support for H shifters. Saved control settings are often forgotten and have to be set again, even without quitting the game. You can't set mixed controls (wheel + keyboard) Certain controls are marked as "required" when I'd beg to differ. I can't map the B button to handbrake or anything else because pressing it just goes back and leaves the control unassigned. I've just got my 3rd car (not counting loyalty bonuses) and opened a second Festival site in the Outback. I've nto unlocked Drone (photo) mode yet before you ask, D. Not that I'm planning to use it with a wheel and these graphics settings.

Buy a brand name adapter, perhaps a USB3 one, not the cheapest no-name one you can find of fleabay direct from China (which probably comes with a driver for Win98)

Do any of those patches modify traffic (i.e. add limousines, etc)? Because that's the usual cause

Given that the console version are locked at 60 (FM) and 30 (FH) FPS might one then expect you to get ~30+ with that config? After running WSReset.exe and the Windows Update troubleshooter it looks like I might actually get the who game down this time (currently at 25.8GB)

I've tried enabling P2P downloads in Windows Update settings. It jumped back up to 16Mbps down, but am at work now so who knows if it'll drop again.

Does the download slow to a crawl for anyone else? I paused and resumed it which then reset itself from 7.0/60.GB to 0/49.GB. But again, it got to download 4gb quickly then just pretty much stopped with an error. So it had to start from 0 again. Overnight it's only downloaded 9GB I can cruise Sat morning UK time if it's ready.
