    Some update (after such a long time it might seems weird :D):
    Work in progress. That's all I can say. And also for the wait a modded exe to bypass the login sequence (and basically play with your online profile offline).

    I know this isn't the custom server code that everyone expects, but I thought a new version of Test Drive unlimited Advanced Tools, with more options and stuff could be nice to fill the wait. :p
     
    The 1.1 version is only available in command line style (as I already said creating a decent gui is quite long and I didn't have enough time to work on a good hotkeys mechanic) and offers even more options (camera hack for freeride, designer mode for the race editor, custom resolution for windowed mode...). I'm working as hard as I can on the multiplayer part, so don't loose hope, it will come one day. :cheeky:
     
    Also it is still a little bit buggy, but I'll fix that when I'll have time. :)

    There should be a new version of the tools quite soon, still without the online features unfortunately (but I'm working on it no worries :p) but it will include new commands and stuff.
     
    (and it will be a commandline tool now, as I am too lazy to design a new ui :twisted: )

    Hi again there! :D
    I have some good news, and some bad news.
     
    The bad one: my Visual Studio Installation went nuts and screw up my TDU AO project (hopefully I still have my work somewhere else) so I'll have to rewrite the whole thing.
     
    The good one?

    I still need to dig deeper as it doesn't work online, but still, the lobby is now working.
     
    Also I've found some weird stuff I can't explain... Airplane anyone? :p


     
    (well I'm pretty sure the first one is a cubemap but why would they've code some mode to display that in fullscreen... no idea seriously)

    I only use tweaks with vanilla TDU instead of adding new stuff (since it would be another long work like the server).
     
    But from what I've tried, I managed to get a good result from my version of Test Drive, tweaking the clipping of the bushes and the assets, enabling the HDR without getting the blurry render TDU had, some tweak of the reflections and car body.
     
    I'll post some comparaisons screens tomorrow if I've time.

    I've deeply studied the case of the lobby reversing: I thought it would be possible to use the protocol of the Xbox version, but it seems I can't do that (tried a ton of bypass and tricks, nothing worked). So I'm affraid it will need a real custom code to simulate that lobby... I'm mailing people about that to help me on that part, since I don't have enough time to do it all by myself (and also because this is quite insane to do that alone :D).
     
    At the same time, I may update the Advanced Tools to add some Graphic related options (such as custom LOD, lightning, Zplane...).
    Pretty sorry for the speed of the project btw! :p

    Some update for TDU1 players (if you are still alive :D):
     
    I didn't work on the project since my last post (see the post above me). But I have free time these days to work a little bit on that project... so let's go! :cheeese:
     
    To be honest, the online races are really close to be functional (because of a video someone sent me in PM; minime :cheeky:; and the researches I've done). Freeride is different, completely different...

    Would be a nice scenario, but I doubt it could happen with Atari (licence cost and all the stuff). If only they could support modding one day, maybe we could go forward together and build a new TDU? :D

    Haha forgot to fill up the description I wanted to put in my first post. :p
    As Diablo said, yup this option will allow you to go online without using the gamespy check (90 seconds at the start), which is called Gamespy Servermaster I think (I'm a newbe with Gamespy Mechs so don't flame me :D). But freeride and races still need to be reversed.
     
    As I said earlier, I worked on the Ace Fix. (well it's not supposed to pop-up when you've traveled 2815 miles, It was only a test to show the real fix I'll make).

    I'm not sure, but I think the police system is client sided, which means it can't be enabled in multiplayer. I'll have a try however, nothing to lose heh? :p

    What do you mean by the mail system ingame? The news thing that tells you "A new club member has arrived..." etc?

    Also, I updated first post and media post. And as I said, I worked a bit on the database to fix the Ace Level (you don't need to win these intraclub races anymore :p).

    Well, first of all it would be really stupid from myself to post fake stuff and then tell everyone 'lolno sry was fake :D'. But I don't want to create any doubt, so here is a fast screenshot I've just done (double screen ftw :D).

     

    I didn't think about that but it must be possible as it is for TDU2. TDU1 has so much options so I'm pretty sure this can be done. :) (I accept any request of options for the TDU Advanced Options btw; if this can be done :p ).
     
    @Dux: I still don't know how the server soft will be done at the moment.

    Didn't thought about that, it's a great idea you have here! :)
    I spent hours to find interested programmers that could help to reverse the game, well it's really hard to find some. :( (it's understandable due to the difficulty and the fact we have a life too :p)
     
    EDIT: ah also I'm planning to remake the whole solo thing, since you'll need to recreate a profile to play online (if we can reverse the server :p)
    So it means a new starting choice! :D (not definitive of course, I was messing around to find out how to edit the clothes of each character, and well it seems you can even put NPC clothes on it which is quite interesting, don't you think? :) )

     
    And btw, I'll release an open beta for TDU AO soon, I still need to fix some issues and get all the options I can.

    Show/Hide Map geometry; useless but funny. :D
     

    Residing UI. Very useful since you can even change the gps and gauge position thanks to that. :cheeky:
     
    I'm really amazed about the capacities of TDU's debug options. I have almost 80 options of debug, tweak and useful stuff in my list for TDU AO.

    Just for those asking about news of the project, I'm still working on it (I didn't have much time and I worked a bit on Battlefield3 modding which is really amazing and time eater :D)

    Pretty much what Djey said.
     
    Also jorge Djey is right, TDU2 source code is crappy, if you wanna know I tried once to debug it (with ollydbg), even with a no security version it simply refuses to run contrary to TDU1 which can be easily debuged (thanks to that you can access to physic debug options, the fake "simulation mode" which was Hardore mode codename I assume even if it's not really that).
     
    Well without the server software data or anything useful to reverse it, I'm not really sure if the adventure can continue. And I don't even think about TDU2 for the reason I thought about while I was map modding it.
     
    Let's hope Ivory Tower will rock with their new game and they'll allow modding a bit, hum? :p

    While I was working on the online, I took a short time to dig into the debug options left in TDU... And well it seems there are a lot of them!
    Except the official debug menu was cut off the game when it went from debug build to finale ready for retail (I assume), almost all of these options are there!
    I'm not going to show all of them because I didn't research all of these first, and some of these doesn't worth it (I mean even if a modder would like to edit the NPC in the world the BOAT TRACE (=show the path of the boat around the island) option would never come handy :D ).
     
    PS: sorry for the crappy quality and the total absence of sound. :(
    And yup these options should be available with the patch. :D

    Well I studied this point a bit with some help as I said:
    It seems to be possible, but it will be quite long and hard to do, since I only have some debug logs to work with, and I don't have the encryption algorithm or the structures of the packets yet.
    BTW if any experimented developer is around, feel free to PM me since extra help would be quite nice for such a hard project. :)

    After some researches, I figured out some tweaks for TDU graphics and found a lot of debug options (I'll post a video tomorrow) that I might share in a little soft. :D

    Introduction
    After editing by hand some sectors for the next update of Project Paradise, I thought it could be nice to create a proper map editor for TDU. After all, that's the only part of the game which has never been modded before. :) (and yes, next pp update should come soon, so less pm spam everyone thanks :twisted:)
     

     
    Description
    Even if it's called "Editor", this tool is a toolbox to export your files in your favorite 3D editor (maya, 3DS max, blender,... any editor as long as it's compatible with .obj) and obviously do the opposite. :p
    This choice as been made simply because I didn't want to make the usage of a cheap and badly written 3D editor an obligation. :D
    .obj has a pretty basic structure making easy to build an object from nothing.
