  1. Thanks Little_Ghost, that explaination of custom radio stations is great I shall get onto it right away. Plus I like the idea of the shortcut to mp3's to save space, I should have done that for GTA SA as I remember there was a lot of memory taken up on my drive. I tried re-mapping the controls for the vanilla game radio stations but still no joy, must be a bug in my installation. The radio files are there in the installation folder though...tis strange! Thanks for your help!
  2. Oh no! My new keyboard doesn't have a number pad (Logitech diNovo Edge). They put a mouse pad thingy in it's place. I haven't been able to try those keys but perhaps I can remap them in the options>controls menu. Custom radio stations eh? I remember doint that for GTA San Andreas, is it similar for TDU? More info on this would be appreciated as I have lots of music I would love to cruise to. Thanks for the input guys!
  3. Hi! I've been playing TDU for a few days now and still I can't figure out how to get the radio to play in game. I've ofcourse pressed the radio button on the keyboard ® and sure enought the names of the radio stations appear with the volume control which I can control with the left/right buttons but no music plays. Is there another key to press to start the music? When I play around with all the possible keys the only thing that happens is the radio station names change to the driving aid and then a close menu then nothing. Any ideas? Also, I can't figure out whilst modding TDU how do you open the bnk.map file? Obviously the bnk editor won't open it as it's got .map file extension even those the file is called bnk.map? Any guidance in either question welcome! Thanks
  4. HI! I posted this in the TDU for PC section, perhaps I should have tried this section aswell as it relates to the actual modding tools and support for them. Well, I wanted to know if anybody has managed to discover where in all those BNK/2DB files lies the files that make up the horrible bright white in-game menu backgrounds and tooltip/hint boxes background? Ya know the whole game's navigation system has the same white background for all the text you read. If someone has any ideas or indeed has already been able to tweak them in photoshop or similar programs then that would be great! I have all the tools (BNK editor/unpacker and 2DB>DDS converter) but there are so many files to convert and you can only do them one at a time! Anyhow the reason I wanted to know is because I want to make a little modification which would either darken this bright white background or change it's colour completely. I have found in most games I play, after a while my eyes get very sore especially going from page to page reading stat after stat in a dark room trying to pick out the black text without getting a headache. I don't know if anybody here had any experience with modding TESIV Oblivion but that interface had a very welcome mod (DarkUI) which many people found a great help for their poor eyesight. So please if anyone knows anything at all it would be great to hear about it! Cheers
  5. Thanks for the explaination of the files and how to edit them Andreaz1, I understand it now although after spending quite a while searching through them I couldn't find anything relating to the horrible white background of the menus and info boxes in game. It would be a perfect solution if they could be inverted i.e white text on black or dark blue background. Oh well...I guess not all games are quite that easy to modify. More and more current games seem to be alot harder due to new interface technology. I don't too much glare when I'm navigating in game as I have a medical eye condition which makes bright colours very painful to look at for long periods and makes reading text on them even harder. Thus this ruins my enjoyment and only really get fun out of playing the game but this is fine except the text shows you how to play so it's vital for gameplay. I found the brightness control in Option>Video but that darkens the gameplay too. This is a shame as when it is down at it's darkest setting the text is really easy to read. On a side notw on the modding tools we discussed, it's a shame the DDS files can't be unpacked all at once, extracting each individual 2db file is very very tedious! I shan't give up on TDU however as I've just bought a house and have tweaked my avatar's appearance and am now about to take my first speed challenge. Thanks again for your help...who knows perhaps someone might figure out a solution for me.
  6. Hi! I just got a copy of TDU for the PC and have been playing it for a day now but I don't like the bright white colours which seem to be dominating all the in-game menus. Can they be edited in Photoshop to make them a darker less glaring colour? I've downloaded a few modding tools including BNK editor, BNK unpacker and repacker and DDS to 2DB but I don't know what file does what as I haven't had experience with this file system before. I've modded other games including GTA (GTA III onwards), Mafia and TESIV Oblivion, all of which I found quite straight forward. If anyone can give me a shove in the right direction, that would be great! Cheers!
