1. Any turboduck members that played it? Would be interested to hear feedback from people who can drive and have long experience with driving/racing sims :)
2. First post about this game: December 30th 2011  The demo is out!! BEWARE demo file
3. It is keyboard+mouse only, for now. Wheel support is planned for the future.
4. The time has come and I'm looking for betatesters! If you're interested and have a GPU equivalent or better than the GTX770, drop me a line via PM
5. Still preparing the tech demo - quite happy with the new visuals, now populating the game-world with some additional models I made in the past months. A couple of new mages: and checking out how it feels with ambient sound: Enjoy! ;)
6. :D my bad. Sleep deprivation taking its toll on me... [h=3][/h]
7. Thanks :) The plan is to have some kind of modular music tracks that will react to what's happening in-game. Still to be tested... Thank you! Here's a bit more of that:
8. Excellent read Diablo! Huge congratulations and thanks for your work! :)
9. Babies :D Better antialiasing could help. Also the youtube compression makes it look more grainy than it is. Also started tweaking the engine sound: ...it's really not obvious to get it to sound like the real thing: , And finally, a new test using real volumetric lights:
10. Here's a longer video, from a chaser's perspective :) :
11. Thank you! If all goes well, it should be the year where you finally get to play this :) :) A short n' comfy drive through the woods:
12. Best wishes to all of you! Happy 2017 :nods:
13. Don't think anything will ever get close to the level of technological novelty that TDU has brought, back in 2006. It's just part of history now, and no new game has managed to trigger feelings of that intensity IMHO. FH3 might be a worthy successor although from the videos I've seen I'm really not digging the handling - hope I'm wrong
14. Some more first-person view... this time, offroad ;)
15. Thanks! Yeah it's kind of veering into horror/thriller territory, although more "cute" situations are also planned. That's just mouse-look. The camera rig is physics-based and mimics how a human body would behave inside the car. There's also automatic head-turning during oversteer situations. We* are thinking about possible VR support - should the technology manage to survive until the game's release. I have still not checked out VR myself but some players suggested it could add lots of additional immersion and in-car first-person view would minimize VR sickness. Thank you! *The good news is that an experienced programmer has recently joined my one man band. That will definitely accelerate the progress rate. Our current plan is to release a tech demo and we still have to decide which gameplay elements to include.
16. more in-engine concept art: Cottage Landscape
17. Yes, I'm really glad that the game project got noticed :) New article published yesterday: https://killscreen.com/articles/driving-game-inspired-creators-real-life-escape-soviet-union/ Always happy to post updates here! :nods: Started doing some in-engine concept art. More to come
18. Yeah, it will be a fine balancing act to make sure the challenge doesn't veer into frustrating territory. Like getting stuck in the mud for too long - although Spintires fans seemed to love it... :eek2: Anyway, I know you're all, hopefully, enjoying ''The Second Coming" :p (I won't be, because widnows10)... here's a recent test I did, an additional "fight against the player" situation :):
19. Apparently it's only available for viewing in France and Germany. Sorry for that. Yeah, I'm thinking good AI can be fun - maybe more than real humans where there's always a percentage of bored ones that like to ram. Thanks for your feedback :) It's getting there... Applying for funding next month - hopefully a playable demo asap. Some news :nods: Been trying to implement terrain deformation since a long time - finally I have found a solution that has almost no negative impact on performance. So much more fun driving offroad now. Here's a small preview:
20. Some news: Time Rodent, the short animation film, from which this game takes some inspiration, will be broadcasted on Arte this upcoming weekend (+ available for watching for 7 days). World premiere! http://www.arte.tv/guide/fr/051125-000-A/time-rodent
21. Thank you all for the great feedback :) I'm really happy there are still some people who feel that competent AI is meaningful. I've recently started a topic about this and felt quite disheartened after reading most of the opinions: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/solved-reasons-for-horrible-artificial-intelligence-in-aaa-games.400473/#post-2616789
