  1. Assetto Corsa – Are You ‘Ready To Race’ The new Assetto Corsa ‘Ready To Race’ car pack is now available to purchase on Steam for the PC. As you might expect with a title like that, this newest ten car DLC has a strong focus on those that have taken part in, and even won, their respective championships. Taking up their grid positions within the list are multiple entries from Audi, McLaren and Toyota, together with single contributions from Lotus and Maserati. The team at Kunos have shown that they know their stuff when it comes to stacking automotive content into these packs and it is clear from what's included that ‘RTR’ is no different. With the stand outs of this pack in my view being the the rally Toyota Celica ST185 Turbo, which sports that unmistakable Castrol livery, and the Maserati MC12 GT1, which in my opinion is a better looking Enzo. However I do expect a large majority of players to gravitate towards the more modern Le Mans racecars and the road-going McLaren 570S. I certainly would say to players though to have a wee go around 'Highlands' in the Lotus 3-Eleven, as if ever there was a car and track made for each other, that would be it. (no need to worry about the rain either!) Assetto Corsa – Ready To Race Car List Audi R8 LMS 2016 Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2014 Audi TT Cup 2016 Audi TT RS VLN Lotus 3-Eleven Maserati MC12 GT1 McLaren 570S McLaren P1 GTR Toyota Celica ST185 Turbo Toyota TS040 Hybrid Console owners of the game will also see ‘RTR’ come to them but with no time specified except for “in the near future”, it’s almost a given that a decent wait will be required. Thankfully this should be made much more tolerable due to the recent release of the v1.14 update that also brought along with it, a nice amount of free bonus content. 2. Porsche Pack Volume 3 – Console The latest update for Assetto Corsa, the Porsche Pack Volume 3 and Update 1.12 we reported on last week is finally out for the Playstation 4, with the updates coming to Xbox One players tomorrow. Console players of Assetto Corsa should now be getting used to being 2-3 months behind PC users when it comes to these updates, it must be very frustrating watching the clock to see when updates you've known about for a months will be available. As reported last week, the Xbox One update has suffered a delay, but thankfully the team over at Kunos have made an effort to get that delay down to just one more day. Great work! This is the final of three Porsche Packs, finishing the Assetto Corsa Porsche extravaganza. It is made up of racing icons of historic and contemporary racers. The pack was originally meant to contain a 2017 911 RSR, however this was delayed as the team felt the car was not ready for release yet and so the Turbo S was brought in to make up the numbers. Despite the swap, Kunos have promised that the new 911 RSR will land as a free upgrade to the Porsche Pack Vol. 3 when the car is ready. PORSCHE PACK VOL. 3 DLC CARS Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Porsche 911 Turbo S The accompanying update has a few items of note, such as improvements to the damage and repair system intending to make collisions more realistic, some models have been tweaked including some cockpit instruments, and some Events for the 3 Porsche Packs and the ‘Red Pack’ have been added. The Macan Turbo, the last of the free Porsche bonus cars will be made available. Private Lobbies are not included in this update, however a comment on the Assetto Corsa’s Facebook page states that they are aiming to get it out in 1.13 (bad luck for some). Also missing is the Custom Championship feature, although you can be fairly confident that Kunos are working on getting this out for their console playing community. UPDATE V 1.12 Changelog Added support for DLC content: Porsche Pack #3 FREE bonus car! – Porsche Macan Turbo The damage and repair system has been improved. As a result, collisions will now appear more realistic Various 3D models have been tweaked and improved, including that of the cockpit instrumentation Reviewed damage curve and repair times Fixed wing damage model on Nissan GTR Fixed graphics kersCharge and kersInput for ERS system Fixed wrong online pit crew locations Improve AI cut detection Fixed Ferrari FXX K fins All-new special events 15 events for The Red Pack DLC 13 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 2 DLC 12 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC
  3. More DLC For Assetto Corsa In 2017 At the end of last year Marco Massarutto shared a preview of what was outlined for Assetto Corsa in 2017 in an official blog post. A few of those items have already been unveiled and should be arriving sometime soon. With the release date approaching, Massarutto has been teasing even more content on his personal Facebook account, this time revealing an assortment of vehicle renders. There is no real common theme with what he is showing us but it gives us an idea of the sort of content they could potentially be packaged with. First up is a Lotus 3-Eleven that will most likely be a part of the already confirmed ‘British Car Pack’. Following this is a variety ranging from classic Le Mans racers to fairly modern vehicles. The delayed 911 RSR 2017 makes another appearance along with the already seen Audi Quattro S1 Group B, which gets some rallying company in the form of the Toyota Celica GT-FOUR. (what about a loose surface rally track for them to play on?) [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6649,6648,6646] Le Mans racers, old and new, are represented by the more contemporary Toyota TS040 LMP1 and the Audi R18E-Tron Quattro whereas the crazy ass past is gloriously personified by the legend that is the Mazda 787B. If Kunos can accurately recreate the sound of that beast, it will be a selling point for the game right there! [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6647,6642,6644] A fair bit of Audi racing metal is shown, leading to the possibility that there could be a dedicated content pack for the marque. This is just me assuming so, and as I have been told many times: you should never assume and so I won’t..... Making up the end of this picture grid is a favourite of both hairdressers and any one else who enjoys a proper driving experience. Oh yes, the classic Mazda Miata will be approaching Assetto Corsa (at a moderate speed) on all available platforms at some point this year. A few hours later, Massarutto must have felt he hadn't shown us enough, and so he kindly dropped a render of a red bonnet/hood. And not just any bonnet, as the bulge, plastic coverings and pins hint to the infamous Ferrari 250 GTO. This fits in nicely with the planned car pack that will celebrate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary, in which 7 of the most iconic models to ever feature the Prancing Horse will be included. Judging by how quickly AC has released content soon after it was unveiled it in the past, chances are the wait for these won’t actually be that long.
  4. Porsche Pack Vol. 3 For Console Next week will see the release of Porsche Pack Volume 3 and update 1.12 on the PlayStation 4, but unfortunately Xbox One users will have to wait as the update “encountered some issues” on the platform. The final of the three Porsche Packs will deliver yet another quality selection of vehicles from the Porsche brand, both old and new. Modern racing machinery gets a big nod, with two 991 GT3 racers and the 2016 Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid among the pack's contents. Classic racing isn't overlooked either thanks to the inclusion of the iconic 908 Lang-Heck (LH) and 917 K, which are both ready and willing to be let loose on the numerous circuits and roads of Assetto Corsa. Last and by certainly no means least, the pack contains two of the most sought after modern Porsches, the 911 R and a 911 Turbo S. PORSCHE PACK VOL. 3 DLC CARS Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Porsche 911 Turbo S For those of you who remember the early days of when the car lists were revealed, you might be thinking ‘there’s something not quite right here?’. And you would be right, as the 911 RSR 2017 was meant to be included in this pack. However due to Kunos not feeling that the car was ready, they replaced it with the Turbo S with the promise to bring the RSR 2017 as a free upgrade to owners of the pack at a later date. It seems that they will be keeping to their word, as this promise has been repeated in the blog post announcing this pack. However, there is no mention as to when this could be. As with previous updates, the latest will bring another free Porsche to owners of the standard game, with the last of these being the Macan Turbo. UPDATE V 1.12 RELEASE NOTES Added support for DLC content: Porsche Pack #3 FREE bonus car! – Porsche Macan Turbo The damage and repair system has been improved. As a result, collisions will now appear more realistic Various 3D models have been tweaked and improved, including that of the cockpit instrumentation All-new special events 15 events for The Red Pack DLC 13 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 2 DLC 12 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC [via Assetto Corsa blog]
  5. Assetto Corsa Takes The Highlands Road A good amount of new images and a couple of videos of the still as of now unnamed fictional Scottish location heading to Assetto Corsa has been posted by teaser-pleaser, Marco Massarutto. The new selection of images that have appeared over the last few days gives a further look at the Highland town track that the Audi Quattro S1 rally car was also shown in at the end of last month. We don’t know how many of the four track layouts this area will feature in, but we can see that this part which is made up of cobbled streets and surrounded by homes is before the longish narrow high-speed section. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6574,6575,6576] Through only still images it is difficult to get a sense of how a course runs, and so thankfully, Massarutto has added some videos to his page. Rushing through at high-speed with a Ferrari 488 GTB, the small clip provides an idea of the challenges and thrills that can be expected at this point. var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.8&appId=159301820896907"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> Some classic racers were also visible in the images shared. The best view of the “Highlands” track was in the latest video where we see a much longer video of Massarutto threading the 488 GTB (he REALLLY likes this car) through the opposing racers, racing cleanly and speedily as he aims to make it from last place all the way to first. " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> With very little space to run off the road. The edges are littered with rocks sitting close to the painted white lines and there are objects dotted along that will cause your vehicle damage or even end your race. The new track is expected in “late February” and will be available as free bonus content for all platforms. Whether they will all get the content at the same time is something we will have to wait and see. Assetto Corsa is OUT NOW on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox One.
  6. Free Audi Quattro S1 Group B The end of year look back posted by Marco Massarutto on the official blog gave us insight into some of the free bonus content that would be coming to Assetto Corsa in the new year, with a number of vehicles and a new circuit being mentioned within the text. Amazingly, despite all the free stuff that is talked about in that blog post, we learn from Massarutto via a posting on his Facebook, that the Audi Quattro S1 Group B rally car is another item of them and that it is due for a February release. We are also treated to 3 in-game images where we can view the stunning detail in the recreation of the car, including one that gives us a good view of the interior and the multitude of switches and buttons that cover it. As is typically the case, the model is looking to be of the high standard we have come to expect from Kunos Simulazioni. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6551,6552,6553] These images also provide us with more looks at the fictional Scottish track that is upcoming and will be free to download too. More information and media on this environment and what it contains should be forthcoming and being a Scot myself, I cannot wait to see what challenges and beauty await players in this location. As an aside, Massarutto brilliantly lays into the previous moaners within the community by apologising in advance that the next free bonus content will not be a SUV. This sharp little dig was made because of those super-entitled players who voiced outrage and displeasure that the free Porsches being given consisted of SUVs. We’re sure many won’t be complaining too much about this freebie, though it does make us wonder if this rally car will be getting a rally playground or something else where it can really unleash its potential? Just need to wait and see I guess.
  7. Console ‘Red Pack’ & Porsche Pack Vol 2 OUT NOW! Here we are, into the beginnings of 2017 and Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games are right on it, as today saw the release of the ‘Red Pack’ and Porsche Pack Volume 2 for PS4 and Xbox One. In fairness, they did say the simultaneous landing of the packs would happen but as has been seen previously, it’s not always the case to blindly believe this will be the case. var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.8&appId=159301820896907"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> Both of the packs which have been available on PC for months, were very much eagerly awaited by players on both console platforms. And so to get them two dropping at the same time is going to put many of them in a right cheery mood. Assetto Corsa ‘Red Pack’ - Contents Ferrari SF15-T Ferrari F138 Ferrari 488 GT3 Maserati 250F 6C Maserati 250F T2 12C Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Red Bull Ring circuit Deciding between the two however isn’t the only issue facing those on Xbox One right now. As has become almost routine for those players on the Microsoft system, experiencing new frustration with additional content has shown itself again: this time being that Season Pass holders are unable to unlock the content they are entitled to. Kunos are aware and looking into it and hopefully this problem will be resolved in not too long. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Porsche 718 Spyder RS Porsche Cayman GT4 Porsche 718 Boxster S Manual Transmission Porsche 718 Boxster S PDK Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche 911 GT1 Porsche 962c Long Tail Porsche 962c Short Tail For those able to download the content and have it work as expected, plenty of new vehicles and a new track awaits them. Be it taking the duo of Ferrari F1 cars around the numerous locations the game has to offer or hanging on to a Porsche 962c as it tries to wrestle away from your control. The new thrills are due to be bountiful with all the new machinery and new track that is included inside the two packs. This latest release brings the console versions of the game to v1.11 and along with a number of fixes, delivers another free Porsche. The Porsche Cayenne is the second of the free Porsche triplets promised, giving everyone some more Porsche to play with even if they do not buy any of the new content. No word on the console Porsche Pack Volume 3 right now, but that can be forgiven. However could it also make an appearance this month? It will be interesting to see what Kunos does, as the delayed 911 RSR 2017 that was meant to be in the PC release of the pack last December, is pencilled in to become a free upgrade to that pack some time this month. Available now, the Porsche Pack 2 and the Red Pack are included in the console Season Pass, or can be purchased separately on the PlayStation and Microsoft Stores.
  8. How’s it gawn?! As the famous sign when you enter the country says, ‘SCOTLAND welcomes you’. And that is exactly what these latest images from main Assetto Corsa teaser-geezer Marco Massarutto are saying too. Revealed to us in the end of year blog, this new fictional track that is now undoubtedly confirmed to be based in Scotland, shows off traces of everything that my home country is known for: beautiful scenery, tight winding roads, grass, old architecture and wait… is that rain? [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" columns="2" size="seven-post-image" ids="6480,6481,6482] Perhaps not, maybe just a bit of optical trickery going on in that image as look how clear the right side window is. It would however be natural for a Scottish location to have to put up with the occasional ‘it’s pishing it down’ wet spell mind you, but maybe that will need to wait for a sequel. Happily, this new track, available in 4 different configurations will be given away as free bonus content at some point within the first bite of this year and is set to delight circuit, drift and endurance fans. As of yet the track is unnamed but it shouldn't be too long before more details start to drip out in reference to it.
  9. Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' on Console Has a Release Date! The news in relation to Assetto Corsa continues to spill out as the release date has been set for when the ‘Red Pack’ will drop on PS4 and Xbox One. Revealed on the official social channels of the title, the DLC will arrive at the start of next week on Tuesday, January 10th. It is yet another and welcome addition to Kunos’ simulation racer and is the one often asked about and has been near the top of the list of content players have wanted to see released on their consoles next. Its popularity is mostly garnered because of the inclusion of a pair of fairly recent Ferrari Formula One racers, the 2013 F138 and 2015 SF-15T – with the F138 running in the final season where the cars would house a glorious sounding V8 before the idiots at the FIA changed the rules to go with the wasp sounding crap we have these days. Two Ferraris is not all you get in this pack, the full breakdown on what comes with it was talked about only a couple of days ago but for the tl;dr amongst you, a bulleted list has been put down below. Assetto Corsa ‘Red Pack’ - Contents Ferrari SF15-T Ferrari F138 Ferrari 488 GT3 Maserati 250F 6C Maserati 250F T2 12C Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Red Bull Ring circuit In total there is seven new vehicles and a new track for buyers to play with and play on and if Kunos stick to their word, the Porsche Pack Volume 2 should be coming on or around this date also. The ‘Red Pack’ will be available on their respective stores on the date of release specified above for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as a standalone purchase or is included as part of the Season Pass. It is already out and available for the PC on Steam. Note: main image is from the PC release
  10. Porsche Pack Volume 2 PS4 & Xbox One Should have known that there was nothing to worry about when the Assetto Corsa ‘Red Pack’ release for console announcement was made yesterday, but it did seem a bit unnerving that there was no mention of the accompanying second Porsche Pack. Those worries can be put to rest as Kunos have just posted on their social channels that 'Porsche Pack Volume 2' is also heading to the consoles next week, just like they promised in December last year.. A quality bit of racing pedigree is on display in this second pack, as it contains some of the most iconic models known in Porsche racing such as the 962c (long and short tail), 911 GT1 and the 919 Hybrid 2015. (Trailer below is from the PC release) Modern day is represented too with the 911 GT3 RS, Cayman GT4, and 718 Boxster in both manual and PDK transmission guises. The classic 718 Spyder RS finishes off the list in style. Well providing nothing has changed between the PC release and this one, that should be what can be expected. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 2 Contents Porsche 911 GT3 RS Porsche 718 Spyder RS Porsche Cayman GT4 Porsche 718 Boxster S Manual Transmission Porsche 718 Boxster S PDK Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche 911 GT1 Porsche 962c Long Tail Porsche 962c Short Tail Another free Porsche, the Cayenne Turbo S will be making its way in through the latest associated update too, as every Porsche Pack arrival brings with it another of the free trio of Porsches, so that everyone can enjoy some extra Porsche-powered fun. It is good to see the console catching up with the PC in the content stakes, and from the look ahead posted at the end of 2016, we know that there is a lot more to come to the sim-racer aside from that which has still to come to the PS4 and Xbox One, that is already available on the PC.
  11. Get Ready For The Red Pack In the final months of last year, we were given some sort of idea for when Assetto Corsa’s 'Red Pack' would finally make its appearance on console when it was said to be coming in January along with Porsche Pack Volume 2. Well they weren’t lying as Kunos have just posted that the ‘Red Pack’ is due out next week (trailer below is for the PC) on both PS4 and Xbox One. Taking them at their word, we expect that the team have learned from that previous bout of unfortunateness (that even a word?) to hit them and will be fully aware of what needs to be done to get them out on time for both platforms. Should you be wondering why this pack is so highly talked about and always asked for, well it is because of the inclusion of two Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 cars: SF15-T and F138. The SF15-T was driven by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen in the 2015 season and was the year of those crazy looking platypus-like noses, whereby the F138 was raced by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in 2013 and was the final season where the V8 engine would be used. And it is not only those two that come with it. There is a third Ferrari in way of the 488 GT3, a Lamborghni Aventador SuperVeloce, Maserati 250F and 250F T2, and a GranTurismo MC GT4. A new track is also a part of the pack. The Red Bull Ring which is situated in Austria is a fast but challenging circuit that is ideal for the new F1 cars to be let loose upon as well as the several other vehicles that litter the main game and have joined through DLC. Assetto Corsa ‘Red Pack’ - Contents Ferrari SF15-T Ferrari F138 Ferrari 488 GT3 Maserati 250F 6C Maserati 250F T2 12C Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Red Bull Ring circuit When the date is locked down we will be sure to post it up. Interestingly, there is no mention of the second Porsche Pack 2 after it was said to arrive at the same time as the Red Pack. Has this been postponed? It’s getting hard to keep up with all these mixed signals all over the place. Assetto Corsa is out now for PS4 and Xbox One and is available for PC on Steam. Don’t forget that the Season Pass on console gives access to the 3 Porsche Packs, Japanese Pack and The Red Pack. Note: the media shown is from those of the PC release of the pack back in July 2016.
  12. Porsche Pack 1 for Console Tomorrow is the day for the consoles to get the first Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack. Well the PlayStation 4 will anyway as unfortunately the Xbox One version has received a slight delay. Rest assured though that Kunos are on the case and are in their own words “working flat out right now and doing all they can to solve the issues” in order to bring the Porsche pack and update to the Xbox playerbase. Already out for the PC, the pack includes some of the most iconic Porsches known. From the modern hypercar of the 918 Spyder to the ‘they actually made this thing’ 917/30 Spyder. Porsche Pack Volume 1 - Contents Porsche 911 Carrera S Porsche 918 Spyder Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 Porsche 718 Cayman S Porsche 917/30 Spyder Porsche 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport A new update will accompany the pack release too in version 1.09. This will bring a number of fixes and improvements along with two pieces of free bonus content: the Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo and the historic Silverstone circuit. On the console there seems to be a fair amount of having to take the good with the bad, but it's undeniable that AC is one of the best racing simulators available on console. The original proclamation of the intent to bring the console version up to that of the PC seems to be getting chipped away as time goes by. There's still time though, so they may very well surprise. UPDATE V 1.09 FIXES AND CHANGES – Upgraded physics engine and network protocol to bring them in line with the PC version of Assetto Corsa as of release 1.9 – Upgraded FMOD to latest 1.08, and done a lot of tweaks and fixes to the audio of all cars – Fixed some problems with the AI on race start – Fixed crash when suspending the game during a multiplayer race – Fixed a recurring crash with Special Events, caused by a certain sequence of actions in the launcher – Fixed bug that blocked users from pushing turbo to 100% – Fixed bug with Traction Control level selection – Fixed several translation issues – Fixed a degenerate collision triangle in Brands Hatch that was causing the simulation to break when hitting it – Added support for visible checkpoints in Time Attack mode – Added new controls presets – Added support for Porsche-specific car features and Special Events – Added support for DLC content: Porsche Pack #1 – Added driver skins Remember that the Porsche Season Pass (search for it on your respective platform) is a great buy if you intend to pick up every one of the three Porsche packs, with a generous discount compared to buying all of them individually. And even though PC has had Porsche Pack Volume 2 already, it has been affirmed for December on console and hopefully should be earlier than arriving right at the end of it like this one has. [via Assetto Corsa]
  13. Assetto Corsa Will Get Private Lobbies After all the delays that the console version of Assetto Corsa experienced, you would have honestly expected Kunos Simulazioni to realise that certain features such as Private Lobbies and the use of purchased content online to be obvious ones to have. This was not the case though, as for whatever reason these were left out. Being a small team we can of course allow them some sway in this matter but just looking on their official channels you can see that the lack of Private Lobbies is probably the most often raised criticism. And rightly so, after all many a racing game has come and gone and given players the ability to set up their own lobby, where like-minded racers or friends can join without the worry that some random is going to cause trouble or disruption. It also allows for leagues and championships which the more hardcore of the racing community are very fond of. Then there is being able to use your purchased DLC online, I mean come on this should be common sense should it not? A bad start can tar a title and turn people away indefinitely and the only way to bring it back in front of them is for those who are still playing to show that the game is vastly improved over what it was. Naturally, this takes the support of the developers to give these people a reason to keep playing in order to exhibit the changes but it can be done, just look at DRIVECLUB after all. Incredibly, as we approach the proposed release date of Porsche Pack Volume 2, the consoles still do not have Volume 1. There is no release date even hinted at yet and so those on console will just have to keep waiting until a date is officially revealed. Porsche Pack Volume 1 Porsche 911 Carrera S Porsche 918 Spyder Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 Porsche 718 Cayman S Porsche 917/30 Spyder Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Just like the PC saw last month, the console update (Version 1.09) that will accompany the pack will include the Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo as well as the historic Silverstone circuit for free. 14. Porsche Pack Volume 1 An image has been posted showing what will come in the first Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack and at first glance it’s a bit hard to see what’s so good about it. Not because the pack is crap or anything, no not at all, but because the vehicles in the image posted by Marco Massarutto on his own Facebook are all lined-up together and softly blurred, making us have to work a little to figure out what they are. Enthusiasts or even a quick Google search of ‘Porsche’ and ‘Porsche – because – racecar' will no doubt give evidence to fairly easily help identify the legends and the current hero hypercar of the Stuttgart based automaker. One Hypercar, two GT cars, one GTR car, three historical race cars. To make everyone happy. - Marco Massarutto via Facebook What is a bit more difficult is deciphering the more known shapes that are common to the models of today. However with a bit of image-enhancing CSI style (with everything being done making a beep of course) I was able to enhance the image about 1.7% which aided me better in being able to be approximately 97.999999% DNA matc... sure of my findings about the cars being shown. Looking at the image and starting at the left: the first car is quite clearly a Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' in Momo Kreepy Krauly colours whereas the second car is more modern and due to the blue sticker on the front and yellow markings on the rear quarter it is assuredly the Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The third car is a bit of a tough one, it certainly looks to be a 911 (991.2) and we do know from previous images that this is forthcoming and it obviously makes sense for Porsche to want one of their modern icons to be featured so this is what I am going with. Phwoar is the case for four as it is no doubt the 918 Spyder hypercar, five is so much the same as #3 however it is likely a 718 but whether that is of a Cayman or Boxster I just cannot be completely sure of. It might even be the road-going Cayman GT4 as this is seen in the original announcement trailer above. Six is a Porschephile's heaven as it is the legend that is the Carrera RSR 3.0, this thing should be a barrel (roll?) load of fun due to its feisty handling, and last but certainly in no way at all least is the crazy looking 917/30 Can-Am racer. So for the tl;dr of you here is my belief of what the first of the two three packs will contain: Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack Volume 1 Going from left to right. Porsche 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Porsche 911 Carrera S (991.2) Porsche 918 Spyder Porsche Cayman/Boxster 718/Cayman GT4 (not sure between these) Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 Porsche 917/30 And don't forget the free Cayenne, Macan and Panamera which were announced too!
  15. Assetto Corsa Console Pre-order Bonus DLC & JDM Packs The pre-order bonus DLC and ‘Japanese Pack’ is heading to Assetto Corsa on PlayStation 4 and (maybe) the Xbox One this week. Well at least it looks that way as the EU PS blog has the items listed in their coming this week post whereas the Microsoft Store has a couple of the items available to view on their store with only one showing the same date of release as that of Sony. The ‘Prestige Pack’ is listed as coming to PS4 October 6th with the ‘Japanese Pack’ and ‘Performance Pack’ due the following day on October 7th. Xbox One is, at this time only showing the Prestige with a date of October 7th. The ‘Performance Pack’ and ‘Prestige Pack’ were available as a pre-order bonus when you ordered the game from certain retailers and entitled the player to download three vehicles with the Performance and nine with the Prestige. As both of these packs look like they will be up for purchase, make sure to realise that the Prestige contains an extra SIX cars on top of the THREE that make up the Performance Pack. UPDATE://1 - From a posting made on the official Assetto Corsa forums it does appear that both PS4 and Xbox One will receive these packs this week and that the 'Prestige Pack' will be the main one available to buy from their respective stores. Players who pre-ordered and received the three-car 'Performance Pack' as a bonus will be able to take advantage of a "Performance Upgrade" option enabling them to grab the remaining six cars that they do not have. Please note: if you pre-ordered Assetto Corsa then you will be able to buy the remaining 6 cars from the Prestige pack in the Performance Upgrade pack which launches tomorrow too! - official Assetto Corsa forum I repeat: Do not buy both the Performance and Prestige Pack as you will be buying the same content twice due to the cars in the first pack also being included in the other. Performance Pack – Content The below three vehicles are included in the Prestige Pack too! Audi R8 V10 Plus Corvette C7 Stingray Ferrari 488 GTB Prestige Pack – Content Audi A1 S1 Audi R8 V10 Plus BMW M4 Coupe Corvette C7 Stingray Ferrari 488 GTB Ford Mustang 2015 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Nissan GT-R Nismo 2015 Toyota GT86 Up next is the very well received 'Japanese Pack' that came out for PC a good while ago. Shown in the (PC) image below, this car pack is made up of six individual cars though dedicated Time Attack, Tuned and Drift tuned versions of some of the cars take this total amount to twelve. All the fan favourites are here: Toyota AE86 Trueno, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 along with the ever playful Mazda MX-5. Sure to provide all types of JDM enthusiast with fun no matter what discipline they prefer. Japanese Pack – Content Mazda MX-5 2015 Mazda MX-5 CUP Mazda RX-7 Spirit R (plus Tuned variant) Toyota Supra MK IV (plus Time Attack and Drift variants) Toyota AE86 Trueno (plus Tuned and Drift variants) Nissan 370Z NISMO Nissan GT-R R34 Skyline V-Spec 'Japanese Pack' images are from the original PC release info. 16. Free Porsche! The team behind Assetto Corsa continue to tease about the upcoming Porsche pack and if there is one word we hardly ever hear in respect to downloadable ‘Porsche’ content, it is ‘free’. With Kunos Simulazioni though, this is in fact what is happening as by way of Marco Massarutto, the Licensing Manager at Kunos responding to a question on twitter last week, it has been revealed that there will be a Porsche Panamera, Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Macan given away at no cost! https://twitter.com/Markus72k/status/780301766638374912 If above not available click for screencap Of course there will be some who will see this trio as not being true Porsches but they are certainly some of the most popular and best selling. And as PC players have known for a while and those on console have recently found out, big heavy vehicles like the Maserati Levante SUV can be quite fun to toss around at high speeds. The Porsche pack is very likely to be out this month (October) and will contain a number of cars not often seen in games along with the more common beetles.
  17. Porsche Packed It is of no wonder that Kunos seem to be enjoying teasing their community with the frequent release of new media and comments in regards to the Assetto Corsa Porsche pack. Over the past few weeks they have dropped images showing what is known as the ‘Holy Trinity’’ – consisting of the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. This super treble of hypercars is seen as the peak of automotive excellence today. There have also been images of the 991 Carrera S, the rear light of a Boxster 718 and a real world example shown of the 935/78 'Moby Dick' along with an exciting sharing of Porsche Motorsport’s tweet about the new 911 GT3 Cup car. In all there is looking to be a total of 24 Porsches to come over the two three packs, which is a fine amount and will also see some of the lesser known examples hitting the virtual tarmac for the first in a long time or for the first time ever in an official capacity. Being that Assetto Corsa was noticed by Porsche and then asked to create an environment in which to showcase their vehicles virtually, it is a massive gold star to the team and sets up a perfect pairing for sim-racing fans. For once players on all current platforms will be able to partake in the joy of a simulation racer that contains the best that Porsche offered in the past and does so today. Let's just hope the cost of it is reasonable.
  18. Assetto Corsa Console Update A new community blog posted by Kunos Simulazioni reveals further details of what's to come in the PS4 and Xbox One update that is aiming to release this month. Along with the previously mentioned fixes for the main issues relating to graphics, control and AI, we learn that the ‘Black Cat County’ fictional road layout and Maserati Levante are also coming with it. [caption id=attachment_5476" align="alignnone" width="800] Welcome to 'Black Cat County' - (image from PC announcement)[/caption] ‘Black Cat County’ comes in three layouts of short, intermediate and long and despite being the ‘short’ version it still takes about 3 minutes to complete a lap of the Death Valley-like location in a sportscar according to Kunos. The dusty and twisty road layout, accompanied with high-speed sections and straights is a nice breakaway from the many closed-off circuits already included, giving players the opportunity to test the handling in a more relaxed open road setting. The Maserati Levante is the first SUV to come from the famous trident fronted marque and was created to compete in the luxury SUV market. And with it being big. heavy and fast, with a top speed of over 160 mph, the Levante will unquestionably be quite the adventure to not only throw about and drive hard on 'Black Cat County', but also everywhere else! Note: video trailer below is the original for PC version No date is set in stone for this PS4 and Xbox One update, but as said before, September is still the aim.

  20. Honouring The Italian Greats With Assetto Corsa's latest DLC, the Red Pack, comes seven iconic Italian sports cars and a new track to test them on! Along with the new DLC arrives the latest update, v1.7 with a number of small tweaks and big improvements as requested by the AC community. The Red Pack The new DLC is a tribute to the many wonderful, famous and infamous sports cars to come out of Italian factories bearing the badges of Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. With the Red Pack you also get a taste of the latest tyre model, version 10. While v10 feels very similar to the current tyre model, it is actually a complete rewrite and one step closer to realism. Tyre model V10 will be rolling out to the rest of the car list in the coming months. The seven iconic cars included in this pack are: Ferrari SF15-T, the first Ferrari GP car to debut in Assetto Corsa, and the second car made by Ferrari since the reintroduction of turbo-charged engines. Ferrari F138, a Formula One car designed by Scuderia for 2013's Formula One season. Named F138 to mark the year it was raced in and the final season that would use V8 engines. Ferrari 488 GT3, a racing version of the 458 Italia's replacement, the 488 GTB, which sports a 3.9 litre, twin turbo V8. Maserati 250F 6C, another Formula One racer that took part between January 1954 and November 1960, it had a 2.5 litre naturally asipirated straight six. Maserati 250F T2 12C, with a change in rules, in 1956 this 250F was able to run a V12 engine. Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4, this GT4 racecar features the standard 4.7 liter engine, however with the fitting of an air-scoop power is reduced from 488bhp to 430bhp however was fitted with a newly designed rear spoiler and modified diffuser to help take on its GT4 rivals. Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce, with a weight loss of 50kg and power increased to 750bhp this Lamborghini is a little bit nuts. 0-100km/h takes just 2.8 seconds and it can reach a top speed of over 350km/h. An exciting selection that'll give you plenty of entertainment, no doubt. As well as seven new vehicles, you'll also get a new track to thrash them on, Austria's Red Bull Ring! The Red Bull Ring is, for the first time ever in PC racing, digitally recreated using laser scanning technology. This results in the most accurate reproduction and highest level detail possible. Download now on Steam for £6.99. Version 1.7 In the latest update comes a number of new features and improvements. As the community has requested, false starts have now been implemented, which can result in players facing penalties for jumping the gun. New physics improvements have been included also, such as tweaks to the current tyre model which makes tyres more sensitive and responsive to initial tyre pressures, as well as improvements to the realigning forces, and more. Assetto Corsa is now able to simulate brake temperatures, which is initially included in some Red Pack cars and will also be rolled out to the rest of the cars in coming months. The KERS/hybrid electric systems have also been tweaked for the F138 to behave more realistically. Other improvements include new artificial intelligence algorithms and improved overtaking maneuvers, which result in AI drivers displaying a more varied performance during single laps and sessions, and also a new experimental multiplayer code which reduces bandwidth usage and improves quality of online sessions. And finally my personal favourite change in the v1.7.3 changelog, "Fixed strut suspensions going full banana". Brilliant. [gallery columns=6" link="file" ids="4927,4926,4924,4925,4923,4922,4921,4920,4919,4905,4906,4904,4902,4903,4901,4900,4899,4898,4897,4896,4894,4895,4892,4886]
  21. Ferrari 488 GT3 It's been a few days since there's been anything heard from the Assetto Corsa team, but now, one day before the pack release itself, the fifth car model of the nearly here 'Red Pack' has been revealed, and it is another Ferrari. Meaning a minimum of three prancing horses will be in amongst the seven Italian examples that will be included with the new DLC. With the addition of the 488 GT3, the already impressive variety of GT cars will be boosted even more and it is something Kunos themselves seem quite proud of. "Our GT2/GT3 grid will be one of the most complete in the genre and a step forward in providing the best GT experience ever!" The car which was brought in to replace the 458 - that is also represented in the game - has divided opinion just like it's predecessor. Some like it, others think the front looks 'unfinished' but there is always one thing you can be certain of with mid-engine road cars from Ferrari, and that is that they handle supremely well. And when they then take that road going model and turn it into a track runner, things in that area get even better. So that's two cars left to reveal of this pack and it is looking like we will learn what they are from the pack itself. Those five that have been given official exposure are the Ferrari 488 GT3, the historic Maserati 250F 6C, the F1 duo of the 2013 Ferrari F138 and the 2015 Ferrari SF15-T and last but not in anyway least, the Lamborghini Aventador SV. The 'Red Pack' is out tomorrow (July 14th) on Steam and available for the consoles later in the year. Assetto Corsa - Ferrari 488 GT3 Images [gallery link=file" columns="4" ids="5083,5084,5085,5086,5087,5088,5089,5090,5091,5092,5093,5094]
  22. F1 Ferrari V8 The boys and girls behind Assetto Corsa must be in amazing moods as their latest preview of what's next in line for the 'Red Pack' is something real special yet again. As if it wasn't enough to thrill us by announcing that the Ferrari SF15-T 2015 season car was coming to the 'Red Pack'. Now they have gone and unveiled another Scuderia Ferrari that will be making its way in to the DLC that releases on July 14th. And this time it's a V8 from 2013! The last of the Ferrari V8s in fact, before they went to the (strimmer/weed whacker sounding) turbos, driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. The trailer to accompany the announcement, simply titled Introducing the Ferrari F138, shows the car doing a flying lap round the Silverstone GP circuit. And even though we knew this one was coming after some clips of it were included in the console announcement trailer from the start of this year, it is still impressive that the team has decided to pack so much ultimate into this one pack. After all, having two authentic F1 Ferrari cars in a simulation racer is like the holy grail for many racing enthusiasts, and from how Kunos is going about in assembling the machinery to be included in this pack, we really cannot wait to see what else is still to come. The Red Pack is shaping up nicely with the confirmed inclusion of the Maserati 250F 6C, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Ferrari SF15-T and now this second F1 Ferrari. Meaning there is three models remaining out of the seven we have been told are due.
  23. Fangiotastic! The information just keeps on flooding out in regards to the Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' that is heading for release next week. Latest to get the spotlight is the Maserati 250F 6C that Kunos Simulazioni gave us a glimpse of in the very first tease for the new DLC. This time the classic Formula One racer gets a full image showcase all to itself, looking excellent as it is let loose on the track, spitting out unburnt fuel as it does so. With great names attached, such as Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss, the car enjoyed success right from the off, taking the win in its first Grand Prix with Fangio behind the wheel at his home race in Argentina. And with Moss calling it the "the nicest Formula 1 front-engined car to drive" of its era, you know it just had to be something special to receive such high praise from such a legend of the sport. The cars of that time also liked to be on 3-wheels through the turns and with the simulation prowess of AC this will hopefully be seen when players get their hands on the pack. Assetto Corsa: Maserati 250F 6C Images [gallery link=file" columns="4" ids="5040,5041,5042,5043,5044,5045,5046,5047,5048,5049,5050,5051,5052,5053,5054,5055,5056] The Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' will be available for purchase from Steam on July 14th for PC and will be coming to the console versions later on in the year.
  24. Red Bull Ring The Red Bull Ring is next for the detailing stage of the Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' release-info-about-athon and inevitably the circuit is receiving the full laser scanned treatment in order to deliver an accurate rendition. Founded as the Österreichring, the circuit was host to the Austrian Formula One Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years from 1970-1987. Later it was shortened, rebuilt and was given the new name of A1-Ring, where under this new guise it became host of the Austrian GP from 1997-2003. With F1 outgrowing the track, plans were put in place and work started on extending the layout but construction stopped, the track fell into neglect and remained unusable until its owners Red Bull began a €70m reconstruction in late 2008, ending with and giving us the Red Bull Ring. The track opened again to professional racing with a visit from the DTM in its 2011 season and the championship has revisited every year since. Formula One also made its return, bringing the Austrian Grand Prix back to the F1 racing calendar after a ten-year absence with the Red Bull Ring's inclusion in the 2014 season. It would appear then, that this place has quite a history. The track will feature along with seven car models, some of which have already been confirmed: Maserati 250F, Lamborghini Aventador SV and the Ferrari SF15-T Formula 1. Assetto Corsa - Red Bull Ring Images [gallery link=file" columns="4" ids="5020,5021,5022,5023,5024,5025,5026,5027,5028,5029,5030,5031,5032,5033,5034,5035] The Red Pack DLC will be available to purchase July 14th on Steam and will be coming to consoles later in the year. Assetto Corsa is out now on Steam PC and will be released on console on August 26th in Europe and August 30th in North America.
  25. Scuderia Ferrari SF15-T Those crafty ones behind Assetto Corsa have been playing with our emotions again, titling their new upcoming content as the 'Red Pack' but with no Ferrari in sight. In fairness it was only a couple of days of no-show for the Prancing Horse and with a name like that for the pack you knew something from the stables of Modena had to be coming. What was not expected though was a Formula 1 car! The Scuderia Ferrari SF15-T from the 2015 F1 season was driven by cream of the crop drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen and had one of those fronts... or noses that only a mother or a diehard Tifosi could love. In the hands of Vettel it ('Eva' as he called it) won a few races, taking the chequered flag at Malaysia, Hungary and Singapore. Powered by a 1.6L V6 Turbo hybrid engine (WHYYYY?!?!?) that spat out 600 bhp with another 160 available via KERS and limited to a maximum of 15,000 rpm, the trailer that accompanies this announcement showing the car lapping around the also upcoming 'Red Pack' Red Bull Ring is more a treat for the eyes than the ears. In an interesting turn of events, this is not the F1 Ferrari that has been expected, as an F138 was shown quite predominantly in the original Console Announcement trailer back in January. Would Kunos be crazy enough to deliver two Scuderia Ferrari F1 racecars in the 'Red Pack'? Considering the season this car is from is the one where we had to look at those noses, let's hope so! Assetto Corsa: Ferrari SF15-T images [gallery link=file" columns="5" ids="4918,4919,4920,4921,4922,4923,4924,4925,4926,4927]
