  2. Assetto Corsa 1.15 & Ready to Race DLC Out Now On Console Assetto Corsa on PS4 and Xbox One have received a new update that brings the console versions up to 1.15, Alongside this, the 'Ready to Race' car pack has also become available to purchase. Just like the big update of 1.14 before, this latest one introduces yet more goodness to the game that players will be thrilled to see. Improved AI that makes the computer-controlled opponents even racier will be very welcome to those who enjoy playing offline and are itching for more of a challenge. And it may have taken it’s time in getting here, having been one of the main demands since the early days of the game’s release, but customisable button mapping is now accessible. Assetto Corsa – Ready to Race PS4 & Xbox One Console players have become used to having to wait a while to get the same content that has been released previously for the PC but it still hurts when the time difference between it is realised. That 'Ready to Race' car pack that has just now dropped for the PS4 and Xbox One has taken almost four months to get to them. 'Ready to Race' Car Pack Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2014 Audi R8 LMS 2016 Audi TT Cup 2016 Audi TT RS (VLN) 2013 Lotus 3-Eleven Maserati MC12 GT1 McLaren 570S McLaren P1 GTR Toyota Celica ST185 Turbo Toyota TS040 Hybrid For many, the wait finally being over will be enough as the RTR pack is a stellar one – there is just so much variety in it with dedicated race cars, a McLaren road car and even a rally car making up its contents. (video below from PC announcement) It's good to see information starting to spill out about the game again, been a bit quiet in that area lately. But with this, along with the PC release date announcement of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary car pack, the future of AC is always something that can be looked forward to.
  3. Ferrari 70th Car Pack Release Date The Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack for Assetto Corsa arrives on September 19th for Steam, followed shortly afterwards (supposedly) by the PS4 and Xbox One. Announced together with a video showcasing the absolute legend that is the Ferrari 250 GTO, Kunos Simulazioni have revealed that the seven car pack that was first mentioned at the start of the year has been in development for more than eight months, all of which has likely been a labour of love for the Italian studio. (yeah right) Kunos Simulazioni is glad to announce that after more than eight months of development, the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack finally is coming to Assetto Corsa: it will be available on Steam on September 19th, to be followed soon on PS4 and XBox One. The package as a whole will include a selection of seven of the most iconic cars ever produced by the Italian car manufacturer! With over 70 years of Ferrari road and racing car production history to choose from, it is not at all surprising to see some of the regulars within the list. The Prancing Horse may have decorated many a vehicle in its time but not all of them have become icons of the brand as compared to those that keep appearing in not only games, but also the top of public votes. Models such as the 250 GTO and the 330 P/4 are synonymous with the manufacturer’s history, while the 288 GTO is well-known in gaming circles because of the amount of titles to have included it, and let's be honest, the latest road-going model of the 812 Superfast getting its own slot is of little wonder either, as it's a commonly employed marketing tactic to have your latest featured. But hey at least this one is a bit of a beast! And even though I am still a bit upset that the F333 SP wasn't the eventual winner (it came 10th!), let's not forget that community-vote winning modern-day F1 car that is doing really well for Vettel this season. As with it, one of the more fascinating things to do with this pack will be to compare the 2017 machine to its 50 years its senior older sibling. Where something tells me, the grip levels are going to be one of major contrast. Now who doesn't want to experience that?! Assetto Corsa: Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 1967 Ferrari 330 P/4 1967 Ferrari 312/67 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO 2004 F2004 F1 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast 2017 Ferrari SF70H (Community Poll winner) Assetto Corsa is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
  4. The Need for Speed In Assetto Corsa Relive that classic The Need for Speed rivalry between the Ferrari 512 TR and the Lamborghini Diablo VT with this quality mod for Assetto Corsa (PC). Demonstrated beautifully by YouTuber GamerMuscleVideos as he takes both around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, it is clear to see that both of these cars have drastically different handling characteristics: where the Ferrari is quite nimble and a handful, the Lamborghini lazily lumbers about, but is grippy to a point where its power can be be put down early to get a good run out of corners onto the faster sections. Even though the video is shown around a racing circuit, it is worth remembering that the game does have the road course layouts of 'Black Cat County' and 'Highlands' that will help even more in delivering that classic NFS vibe. Not to mention the extra locations that the modding community have created. With its extremely well-crafted car models, and physics and sounds getting good impressions, this user-created add-on is bringing a little bit of the old into the new, and that is something that will always be welcomed. Seeing these two brought up to date and racing one another invokes major feels, however it should be remembered that is where it ends as AC is a simulation, therefore the arcade madness play style of before, will not do your race hopes well at all. This pack includes both cars and race grid templates to be used in Content Manager for each car, so it loads the same opponents from the original game. Both cars can be found together under it's own brand, it's called "NFS Tournament Class A". The rear wing on the Diablo can be turned on and off from the Aero tab in the setup options. If this has got you eager to do this yourself, head over to RaceDepartment, sign-up and download NOW!
  5. Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary DLC Bolting out of the stable a bit prematurely than intended, the details about the upcoming Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary car pack have become known, together with a confirmed ‘fall 2017’ release. Thanks to user Kelvjy who brought it to our attention on our forums, the page on the official website for the game lists six Ferrari models that will make up all but one of those to be included. It’s a right stormer of a list, not just for Ferrari fans either, but for automotive enthusiasts anywhere! Assetto Corsa: Ferrari 70th Anniversary DLC 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 1967 Ferrari 330 P/4 1967 Ferrari 312/67 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO 2004 F2004 F1 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast As we already learned at the start of the year, the community will have an opportunity to have a say about its contents and this is taking place through them being able to decide on the final model. This is possible due to Ferrari allowing Kunos Simulazioni to reproduce the winning model from the poll for inclusion pack. All the usual suspects are in there: from historic racecars, 70s and 90s era F1, a variety of GT-class racers, and oft-forgotten road cars like the 550M and 360 Modena. Voting is performed by visitors making their choice from the available options, entering their name and email address and then finally submitting their entry. Once done, the vote cannot be changed and the current standings are not viewable either. It should be realised that because this page went up before it should have that the information contained within it isn’t officially confirmed and is very much subject to change.

  7. Assetto Corsa Console Update v1.14... update The team behind Assetto Corsa are eager to keep their console population informed about what is going on with the approaching BIG v1.14 update. Unfortunately that doesn’t include a release date, however in a posting by publisher 505 Games we learn of everything it will have when it does come. For many online racers it will be the arrival of Custom Lobbies that will be the best thing, whereas those who play offline will enjoy being able to create their own Custom Championships. And if you’re sick of the view from the cockpit position then smile, as this is now possible to customise during a session. But that’s just the tip of it, as there is an astonishing amount of FREE bonus content landing also. The “Highlands” track, based in Scotland, is the first of these, PC players have been able to enjoy this and its four configurations for a while now, but in what we hope is not too long. so too will those on PS4 and Xbox One. Highlands – The original layout, 8152 meters long, filled with fast flowing path with curves and several jumps. Highlands Long – An extension of the original layout, 12191 meters long and has all the characteristics of the original layout. This layout features some slower curves, a fast series of left and right turns, after a passage between rocks and the distinctive 3km long “Cabhag straight” Highlands Drift – A configuration born to create long powerslides with supercars and hypercars. At 5167 meters long, this layout features long, flat and smooth curves, perfect for holding a constant power slide. The “tower lùb”, guards the surroundings at the top of the hill. Highlands Short – The shortest configuration, only 1714 meters, but based entirely inside the city. Incredibly intense and requires the concentration of a pro. Should you have exhausted the usage of the current available vehicles then smile, as five more are on their way and they won’t cost you a thing. The selection is extremely varied, with two from Mazda that could not be any more different to each other (unless one of them could fly), an Audi rallying legend, a 1200bhp producing bi-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo, and an extremely nice sounding BMW M4. Those last two are kind of already existing examples in new clothes but for no cost to us, we’ll take it. Assetto Corsa – PS4 / Xbox One Free Bonus Content Highlands (4 layouts) Audi Quattro S1 E2 Mazda MX5 NA Mazda 787B BMW M4 Akrapovic Lamborghini Gallardo SL Step3 There is also a quite substantial upgrade to the physics engine, with the new v10 tyre physics added along with the following: UPGRADED PHYSICS ENGINE * Updated minimum pressures and optimum pressures for various cars. * New v10 tyre wear algorithms more sensitive to load for all cars. * Graining is now reducing when driving in good temperature conditions. * New and updated V10 street, semislick, vintage, and race slicks tyres for all cars. A total of 151 cars updated. * Updates for cars that already had V10 tyres. * Updated chassis balance and inertias for all 151 available cars. * Updated engine coast braking for street cars. * Updated Brake heat for the following cars * Shelby Cobra * Lamborghini Miura * Alfa Romeo GTA * Abarth 595 * Ford Escort RS * Ford GT40 * Lotus 25 * Lotus 49 * Maserati 250F 6C and 12C * Lotus 72D * Ferrari 312T * Ferrari F40 Don’t worry premium content buyers, you’re not being completely left out, as if you splashed out on the Porsche Pack Vol. 3 (or the Porsche Season Pass) then you will find the 911 RSR 2017 will be yours. Just like they promised. Providing there are no other delays with submission or anything else unforeseen, the long-awaited update should be with us at some point this May. [via 505 Games] *main image is from the PC announcement earlier in the year
  8. Assetto Corsa HALF PRICE! There are MAHOOSIVE SAVINGS on everything Assetto Corsa right now on Steam. Everything including the game and its DLC has had its price slashed by AT LEAST 50%!! Incredibly the 'Porsche Season Pass' gets the best deal of the lot, with a crazy reduction of more than 60%! At these sort of prices, there is little reason for the already owning Assetto Corsa player not to purchase some of the additional content available. Or, for non-owners to take the plunge and find out for themselves why this sim-racer is highly regarded by so many. It should also be worth mentioning that the game is still very well supported and has a good 2017 ahead of it in regards to content to come. Such as the 'Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack', 'British Pack' and more that still hasn’t been teased or shown to us yet. For those who enjoy their racing sims, this title is one that should already be installed. But if you do not, then here is the perfect opportunity to change that. [via Assetto Corsa on Steam]

  10. Assetto Corsa Hits The Highlands Of Scotland Kunos Simulazioni are well known for their transparency, in that they are consistently keen to share upcoming developments for Assetto Corsa. Over the past month they have been teasing and showing us plenty of the fictional Scottish location coming as a free bonus track. The new location is officially called ‘Highlands’ and is out now for PC on Steam along with a free bonus car, the mind-blowing Audi Quattro S1 E2 Group B! This new track has been created in partnership with nVidia and Sparco with the intention of creating the perfect race track… and in Scotland no less. Yes people, Scotland is perfect, the Italians have said so! It comes in four configurations with layouts comprising of Short, Normal, Long and Drift layouts: The ‘Normal’ version is 8152 meters long and is made up of fast, flowing but narrow roads with several jumps designed to thrill as well as test you. ‘Short’ is a return to some good quality urban style racing. Here players race around the city area and will need to be watch for those sharp angled turns and the barrier covered surroundings as at only 1714 meters, this will be a track that requires some precision driving. Looking for some grueling but fun punishment? Then the 'Long' layout has you covered (in sweat probably!). Only 12,191 meters long and containing all that the Normal configuration has, there are some extra slow curves, a series of speedy left and right turns and the terrifying "Cabhag straight" which runs for a colossal 3km. And for the drift muppets out there, you all get your own specially tailored 'Drift' layout aimed at achieving some serious angle at a ludicrous speed thanks to the combination of some smooth and flat curves allowing for long and constant sliding. Each layout shares the same start position and pit lane, along with the first and final 2 corners. The console community should be seeing arrive on their machines within the next month or so if previous content releases are anything to go by. In saying that, let's not see a time difference similar to that of the 'Red Pack' eh Kunos? 11. Porsche Pack Volume 3 – Console The latest update for Assetto Corsa, the Porsche Pack Volume 3 and Update 1.12 we reported on last week is finally out for the Playstation 4, with the updates coming to Xbox One players tomorrow. Console players of Assetto Corsa should now be getting used to being 2-3 months behind PC users when it comes to these updates, it must be very frustrating watching the clock to see when updates you've known about for a months will be available. As reported last week, the Xbox One update has suffered a delay, but thankfully the team over at Kunos have made an effort to get that delay down to just one more day. Great work! This is the final of three Porsche Packs, finishing the Assetto Corsa Porsche extravaganza. It is made up of racing icons of historic and contemporary racers. The pack was originally meant to contain a 2017 911 RSR, however this was delayed as the team felt the car was not ready for release yet and so the Turbo S was brought in to make up the numbers. Despite the swap, Kunos have promised that the new 911 RSR will land as a free upgrade to the Porsche Pack Vol. 3 when the car is ready. PORSCHE PACK VOL. 3 DLC CARS Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Porsche 911 Turbo S The accompanying update has a few items of note, such as improvements to the damage and repair system intending to make collisions more realistic, some models have been tweaked including some cockpit instruments, and some Events for the 3 Porsche Packs and the ‘Red Pack’ have been added. The Macan Turbo, the last of the free Porsche bonus cars will be made available. Private Lobbies are not included in this update, however a comment on the Assetto Corsa’s Facebook page states that they are aiming to get it out in 1.13 (bad luck for some). Also missing is the Custom Championship feature, although you can be fairly confident that Kunos are working on getting this out for their console playing community. UPDATE V 1.12 Changelog Added support for DLC content: Porsche Pack #3 FREE bonus car! – Porsche Macan Turbo The damage and repair system has been improved. As a result, collisions will now appear more realistic Various 3D models have been tweaked and improved, including that of the cockpit instrumentation Reviewed damage curve and repair times Fixed wing damage model on Nissan GTR Fixed graphics kersCharge and kersInput for ERS system Fixed wrong online pit crew locations Improve AI cut detection Fixed Ferrari FXX K fins All-new special events 15 events for The Red Pack DLC 13 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 2 DLC 12 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC
  12. More DLC For Assetto Corsa In 2017 At the end of last year Marco Massarutto shared a preview of what was outlined for Assetto Corsa in 2017 in an official blog post. A few of those items have already been unveiled and should be arriving sometime soon. With the release date approaching, Massarutto has been teasing even more content on his personal Facebook account, this time revealing an assortment of vehicle renders. There is no real common theme with what he is showing us but it gives us an idea of the sort of content they could potentially be packaged with. First up is a Lotus 3-Eleven that will most likely be a part of the already confirmed ‘British Car Pack’. Following this is a variety ranging from classic Le Mans racers to fairly modern vehicles. The delayed 911 RSR 2017 makes another appearance along with the already seen Audi Quattro S1 Group B, which gets some rallying company in the form of the Toyota Celica GT-FOUR. (what about a loose surface rally track for them to play on?) [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6649,6648,6646] Le Mans racers, old and new, are represented by the more contemporary Toyota TS040 LMP1 and the Audi R18E-Tron Quattro whereas the crazy ass past is gloriously personified by the legend that is the Mazda 787B. If Kunos can accurately recreate the sound of that beast, it will be a selling point for the game right there! [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6647,6642,6644] A fair bit of Audi racing metal is shown, leading to the possibility that there could be a dedicated content pack for the marque. This is just me assuming so, and as I have been told many times: you should never assume and so I won’t..... Making up the end of this picture grid is a favourite of both hairdressers and any one else who enjoys a proper driving experience. Oh yes, the classic Mazda Miata will be approaching Assetto Corsa (at a moderate speed) on all available platforms at some point this year. A few hours later, Massarutto must have felt he hadn't shown us enough, and so he kindly dropped a render of a red bonnet/hood. And not just any bonnet, as the bulge, plastic coverings and pins hint to the infamous Ferrari 250 GTO. This fits in nicely with the planned car pack that will celebrate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary, in which 7 of the most iconic models to ever feature the Prancing Horse will be included. Judging by how quickly AC has released content soon after it was unveiled it in the past, chances are the wait for these won’t actually be that long.
  13. Porsche Pack Vol. 3 For Console Next week will see the release of Porsche Pack Volume 3 and update 1.12 on the PlayStation 4, but unfortunately Xbox One users will have to wait as the update “encountered some issues” on the platform. The final of the three Porsche Packs will deliver yet another quality selection of vehicles from the Porsche brand, both old and new. Modern racing machinery gets a big nod, with two 991 GT3 racers and the 2016 Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid among the pack's contents. Classic racing isn't overlooked either thanks to the inclusion of the iconic 908 Lang-Heck (LH) and 917 K, which are both ready and willing to be let loose on the numerous circuits and roads of Assetto Corsa. Last and by certainly no means least, the pack contains two of the most sought after modern Porsches, the 911 R and a 911 Turbo S. PORSCHE PACK VOL. 3 DLC CARS Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Porsche 911 Turbo S For those of you who remember the early days of when the car lists were revealed, you might be thinking ‘there’s something not quite right here?’. And you would be right, as the 911 RSR 2017 was meant to be included in this pack. However due to Kunos not feeling that the car was ready, they replaced it with the Turbo S with the promise to bring the RSR 2017 as a free upgrade to owners of the pack at a later date. It seems that they will be keeping to their word, as this promise has been repeated in the blog post announcing this pack. However, there is no mention as to when this could be. As with previous updates, the latest will bring another free Porsche to owners of the standard game, with the last of these being the Macan Turbo. UPDATE V 1.12 RELEASE NOTES Added support for DLC content: Porsche Pack #3 FREE bonus car! – Porsche Macan Turbo The damage and repair system has been improved. As a result, collisions will now appear more realistic Various 3D models have been tweaked and improved, including that of the cockpit instrumentation All-new special events 15 events for The Red Pack DLC 13 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 2 DLC 12 events for Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC [via Assetto Corsa blog]
  14. Assetto Corsa Takes The Highlands Road A good amount of new images and a couple of videos of the still as of now unnamed fictional Scottish location heading to Assetto Corsa has been posted by teaser-pleaser, Marco Massarutto. The new selection of images that have appeared over the last few days gives a further look at the Highland town track that the Audi Quattro S1 rally car was also shown in at the end of last month. We don’t know how many of the four track layouts this area will feature in, but we can see that this part which is made up of cobbled streets and surrounded by homes is before the longish narrow high-speed section. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6574,6575,6576] Through only still images it is difficult to get a sense of how a course runs, and so thankfully, Massarutto has added some videos to his page. Rushing through at high-speed with a Ferrari 488 GTB, the small clip provides an idea of the challenges and thrills that can be expected at this point. var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.8&appId=159301820896907"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> Some classic racers were also visible in the images shared. The best view of the “Highlands” track was in the latest video where we see a much longer video of Massarutto threading the 488 GTB (he REALLLY likes this car) through the opposing racers, racing cleanly and speedily as he aims to make it from last place all the way to first. " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> With very little space to run off the road. The edges are littered with rocks sitting close to the painted white lines and there are objects dotted along that will cause your vehicle damage or even end your race. The new track is expected in “late February” and will be available as free bonus content for all platforms. Whether they will all get the content at the same time is something we will have to wait and see. Assetto Corsa is OUT NOW on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox One.
  15. Free Audi Quattro S1 Group B The end of year look back posted by Marco Massarutto on the official blog gave us insight into some of the free bonus content that would be coming to Assetto Corsa in the new year, with a number of vehicles and a new circuit being mentioned within the text. Amazingly, despite all the free stuff that is talked about in that blog post, we learn from Massarutto via a posting on his Facebook, that the Audi Quattro S1 Group B rally car is another item of them and that it is due for a February release. We are also treated to 3 in-game images where we can view the stunning detail in the recreation of the car, including one that gives us a good view of the interior and the multitude of switches and buttons that cover it. As is typically the case, the model is looking to be of the high standard we have come to expect from Kunos Simulazioni. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6551,6552,6553] These images also provide us with more looks at the fictional Scottish track that is upcoming and will be free to download too. More information and media on this environment and what it contains should be forthcoming and being a Scot myself, I cannot wait to see what challenges and beauty await players in this location. As an aside, Massarutto brilliantly lays into the previous moaners within the community by apologising in advance that the next free bonus content will not be a SUV. This sharp little dig was made because of those super-entitled players who voiced outrage and displeasure that the free Porsches being given consisted of SUVs. We’re sure many won’t be complaining too much about this freebie, though it does make us wonder if this rally car will be getting a rally playground or something else where it can really unleash its potential? Just need to wait and see I guess.
  16. Console Porsche Pack 3 & Private Lobbies A rather small but nonetheless important blog posting has been made by 505 Games Community Manager, Antonela Pounder, informing that Porsche Pack Volume 3 is on its way to submission next week. The third and final of the Porsche Packs has been a bit of a wait for Assetto Corsa players on PS4 and Xbox One compared to their PC brethren who got theirs shortly before Christmas, but alas the end is finally in sight. When the submission process is complete, Kunos Simulazioni will be able to give more info and a proper release date for it and the accompanying v1.12 update. The final Porsche Pack continues the run of providing some top racing and road-going models from the Porsche line-up as it includes some beauties such as the 917 K and 908 Lang-Heck for the motorsport advocates, whereas the showroom fans can have some fun with the driver focused 911 R. For those who haven't been following the path of these packs then worry not, the full range of the models included is listed below: Porsche Pack Volume 3 - Contents Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Porsche 911 Turbo S Should you not be willing to fork out some small change for the pack then a free vehicle will still be yours as the final of the freebie Porsches, the Macan Turbo, will be provided with the update just like all those previous. Still no mention of the 2017 911 RSR that was originally set for being included in the final Porsche pack but was removed and then replaced with the 911 Turbo S. The swap was done with the intention of the RSR to come at a later date some time in January as a free upgrade to that pack. However, as we are into the final part of January and nothing more has been said or seen of the car, chances are it won’t be making it this month. It will still come, of that we can be fairly sure. To keep players engaged with the game there will be a total of 40 new Special Events for the last few DLC pack releases. These are divided up between them with 15 for the Red Pack DLC, 13 for Porsche Pack Vol. 2 and 12 for the upcoming Porsche Pack Vol. 3. What's the story with Private Lobbies? As brilliant as that pack and those events are, there is another aspect that is seemingly of more importance to a number of players and that is Private Lobbies. It was really quite ridiculous of Kunos not to have this function within the game for console players, but they took notice and have been working away on making it happen for a while and now they are ready to enter the quality assurance (QA) phase. This means that the team are happy enough with how things are going and are moving on to checking how the function runs in the actual game so that they can find and detect any problems or bugs that may have been missed during the development process. If things look good, then it can go onto the next stage and get even closer to an eventual release. However if issues arise then it's back to scrolling though them screens of code to make the needed changes before repeating the process. [via Assetto Corsa blog]
  17. Console ‘Red Pack’ & Porsche Pack Vol 2 OUT NOW! Here we are, into the beginnings of 2017 and Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games are right on it, as today saw the release of the ‘Red Pack’ and Porsche Pack Volume 2 for PS4 and Xbox One. In fairness, they did say the simultaneous landing of the packs would happen but as has been seen previously, it’s not always the case to blindly believe this will be the case. var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.8&appId=159301820896907"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); " data-width="auto" data-show-text="false"> Both of the packs which have been available on PC for months, were very much eagerly awaited by players on both console platforms. And so to get them two dropping at the same time is going to put many of them in a right cheery mood. Assetto Corsa ‘Red Pack’ - Contents Ferrari SF15-T Ferrari F138 Ferrari 488 GT3 Maserati 250F 6C Maserati 250F T2 12C Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Red Bull Ring circuit Deciding between the two however isn’t the only issue facing those on Xbox One right now. As has become almost routine for those players on the Microsoft system, experiencing new frustration with additional content has shown itself again: this time being that Season Pass holders are unable to unlock the content they are entitled to. Kunos are aware and looking into it and hopefully this problem will be resolved in not too long. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Porsche 718 Spyder RS Porsche Cayman GT4 Porsche 718 Boxster S Manual Transmission Porsche 718 Boxster S PDK Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche 911 GT1 Porsche 962c Long Tail Porsche 962c Short Tail For those able to download the content and have it work as expected, plenty of new vehicles and a new track awaits them. Be it taking the duo of Ferrari F1 cars around the numerous locations the game has to offer or hanging on to a Porsche 962c as it tries to wrestle away from your control. The new thrills are due to be bountiful with all the new machinery and new track that is included inside the two packs. This latest release brings the console versions of the game to v1.11 and along with a number of fixes, delivers another free Porsche. The Porsche Cayenne is the second of the free Porsche triplets promised, giving everyone some more Porsche to play with even if they do not buy any of the new content. No word on the console Porsche Pack Volume 3 right now, but that can be forgiven. However could it also make an appearance this month? It will be interesting to see what Kunos does, as the delayed 911 RSR 2017 that was meant to be in the PC release of the pack last December, is pencilled in to become a free upgrade to that pack some time this month. Available now, the Porsche Pack 2 and the Red Pack are included in the console Season Pass, or can be purchased separately on the PlayStation and Microsoft Stores.
  18. How’s it gawn?! As the famous sign when you enter the country says, ‘SCOTLAND welcomes you’. And that is exactly what these latest images from main Assetto Corsa teaser-geezer Marco Massarutto are saying too. Revealed to us in the end of year blog, this new fictional track that is now undoubtedly confirmed to be based in Scotland, shows off traces of everything that my home country is known for: beautiful scenery, tight winding roads, grass, old architecture and wait… is that rain? [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" columns="2" size="seven-post-image" ids="6480,6481,6482] Perhaps not, maybe just a bit of optical trickery going on in that image as look how clear the right side window is. It would however be natural for a Scottish location to have to put up with the occasional ‘it’s pishing it down’ wet spell mind you, but maybe that will need to wait for a sequel. Happily, this new track, available in 4 different configurations will be given away as free bonus content at some point within the first bite of this year and is set to delight circuit, drift and endurance fans. As of yet the track is unnamed but it shouldn't be too long before more details start to drip out in reference to it.
  19. Assetto Corsa 2017 Look Ahead Tasked with writing an end of year post for the official website, our favourite teaser-geezer Marco Massarutto, has revealed a nice amount of features and content that will be landing on Assetto Corsa in 2017. Within it we discover that more free bonus cars and tracks are heading to the game alongside confirmation that the recently released Customisable Championships mode, which came to the PC version last month, will also be coming to the consoles. There was also acknowledgement that work is still being carried on delivering Private Lobbies to the consoles. Not one to keep too many secrets hidden away, Massarutto announces that there will be a brand new created from scratch fictional track based in Scotland! Yeah my home country people!! Can’t argue with their choice, we do have some epic roads (and scenery) here. Arriving free as bonus content in the early part of 2017, this new circuit has been created in partnership with Nvidia and Sparco because apparently the “ideal” circuit doesn’t exist in the real world *ahem Nordschleife*, and will consist of 4 different configurations, incorporating city track, drift layout and endurance course racing. This track will allow you to enjoy each car included in Assetto Corsa, from the very little and quiet Abarth 595 to the racing cars designed for endurance racing, to the GT cars you are enjoying so much. We’ll unveil more details very soon, our aim is to release it within the Q1 2017. Whether these are all set in one place or spread throughout (!), we will need to wait and see. The Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway is unfortunately going to be a bit later coming to the game than Kunos originally wanted, but it will drop in the first half of 2017. As for the cars, well they get even better! Free bonus content alone will itself provide players with the Mazda 787B, Maserati Quattroporte, Miata NA and the new Audi TT. Whereas premium content will begin with the “British Pack”. Comprising of those that make up the latest line-up from McLaren, Lotus and maybe some others, as is hinted at. Kunos, as an Italian developer, unsurprisingly have a real devotion to Ferrari. And as was clear from the several that came with the vanilla game, in DLC and the Scuderia F1 editions included inside the incredible 'Red Pack', this is excellent for players. And with Ferrari celebrating their 70th Anniversary in 2017, AC is set to get a dedicated pack containing 7 of the prestigious marque’s models with the AC community getting a chance to get involved in the choice with a poll. Continuing to grow, the future is looking good for Kunos and AC. Putting the final touches together in the opening of a new studio that has come about as their current base of operations at the Vallelunga circuit undergoes maintenance. These new digs will be better for them as it will have dedicated areas for VR, testing, multiplayer and R&D. There may also be the opportunity for inviting fans and supporters, where they might be shown top secret 'NOT FOR MASSARUTTO’S EYES AS HE WILL SHOW IT' type work in progress. :p Lastly, for all of you AC players who feel you are not showing enough support to the game through the buying of everything they release, you will be ecstatic to hear that as a result of their partnership with SPARCO, there will be some official Assetto Corsa merchandise available for you spend your money on. So now you can deck yourself out as an AC obsessed fanatic... or just buy an item or two, whatever takes your fancy. Assetto Corsa is available for PC on Steam and PS4 and Xbox One to on their respective marketplaces, as well as any many good retailers. [via Assetto Corsa blog]

  21. Time For Porsche Pack Vol. 3 Well here we are, the third and final Porsche Pack for Assetto Corsa is released today for PC. Bringing the phenomenal Porsche DLC program for the title to its climax. For a while it felt like we were only hearing about Porsche coming to the game at some point from Kunos Simulazioni, and now, here we are – it’s done, it’s finished, and there is a whole load of fine virtual Porsche metal out there for players to enjoy. Containing another set of models that will make many an enthusiast beam a smile, such as the 908 LH and 917 K, and providing those who have more of a penchant for modern metal, the 911 R and Le Mans racing 919 Hybrid 2016. Every player should be able to find something in here that they will like. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 3 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 LeMans configuration Porsche 908 Lang Heck (Long Tail) Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R (991) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 Porsche 911 Turbo S (991) Earlier lists included the 911 RSR 2017 with the third pack, but just days before the pack was due for release, it was announced that Kunos were delaying the car so that they could take more time to reproduce it accurately. The Turbo S was brought in to take its slot and now the RSR 2017 will be released as a free upgrade to Volume 3 in January. As has become common for those on console, a nice long wait is on the cards for them, as even though Kunos did mention a “December” release a couple of months ago, that has unfortunately slipped and now more Porsche will not hit until January when Volume 2 is set to release. However it will be joined with the Red Pack when it does, so every cloud eh! And just like with every pack that has landed, the accompanying update contains another of the free trio of Porsches to be given away at no additional cost. This third and final time it is the turn of the Macan Turbo. Speaking of which, this latest one takes the PC up to version 1.11 where along with the bug fixes and improvements is an all-new Championship gameplay mode. Allowing players to create their own championships with options such as selecting the cars, tracks, laps, points, rules and compete against the AI. 22. See What’s In Porsche Pack Vol. 3 With hardly any time at all to go until PC players get to grips with Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack Volume 3, a whole batch of new images have appeared, giving us a view at all the models. Marco Massarutto was posting some of them up on his own page as he likes to do, but it looks like another team member went a step further and put even more of the set, up on Steam. This the final of the three packs, has seven fantastic cars from the House of Porsche waiting for them, and yet again the selection on offer is astonishing! Comprising of even more legends from the marque’s racing heritage and of those that are at home on the road as well as on the track, the collection contains a great set of classic and modern Porsche machinery for players to try and get a small feeling of what it must be like to actually pilot these things. As was announced a few days ago, there is a change to the originally communicated contents of Porsche Pack Vol. 3 in that the 911 RSR 2017 has been removed and the 911 Turbo S brought in to take over its place. The reason for this is that Kunos Simulazioni feel they need more time to reproduce the first mid-engined 911 as best they can and would prefer to deliver it later rather than release it an incomplete or poor representative state to the actual. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 3 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S Porsche 911 GT3 R 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R Not forgetting that the Porsche Macan, the last of the three Porsches to be given away free to everyone, will be a part of the accompanying update to the release of the main pack, just like the Panamera and Cayenne before. Console players on PS4 and Xbox One will need to wait until the new year to see more Porsche on their copies of AC and it’s anyone’s guess as to when they will see this one. Despite that, it is excellent how Kunos is supporting this game and communicating to all factions of their community. Cannot wait to see what exciting and new prospects await the title and its players in 2017. The PC version of Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC for Assetto Corsa is out on December 20th through Steam. It can be pre-purchased now or bought on the day at the dedicated Steam page or will be included for those who have pursched the Porsche Season Pass. 23. Porsche Pack Vol. 2 / Red Pack Console Info Console players of Assetto Corsa will be happy to know that Porsche Pack Volume 2 is heading for submission this week and that news has finally broken about the PS4 and Xbox One ‘Red Pack’ too. From a post made on the official console blog by 505 Games Community Manager, Antonela Pounder, we find that the second Porsche Pack is going into the ‘check it doesn’t explode the console’ submission process at Sony and Microsoft this week, meaning a release now for early January looks certain and not the proposed “December” they mentioned earlier. (boo! j/k) Porsche Pack Volume 2 is a real favourite with us here at turboduck, as it comprises of some truly iconic Porsche racing history in the Porsche 962c in both long and short tail varieties, and the 911 GT1, along with some equally delectable road going metal of the 911 GT3 RS and Cayman GT4. The latter of which is regarded as one of the best handling and driver thrilling cars in its price bracket. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Porsche 718 Spyder RS Porsche Cayman GT4 Porsche 718 Boxster S Manual Transmission Porsche 718 Boxster S PDK Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche 911 GT1 Porsche 962c Long Tail Porsche 962c Short Tail In light of all the Porsche hype and excitement, it has been easy to forget about another of the stellar DLC drops for AC that came donkey’s ways back in July to the PC – the ‘Red Pack’. Proving you can never have too much of a good thing, the console version of the ‘Red Pack’ will release at the same time as Porsche Pack Vol. 2!! And no it’s not just full of Ferraris. Being Italian themselves, Kunos Simulazioni are very proud of their heritage and also that of their country's most famous marques, and the Red Pack demonstrates why in superb form. From the stable of the Prancing Horse there is not one, but TWO Scuderia Ferrari F1 cars in way of the 2015 season SF15-T and the 2013 V8 powered F138, along with the 488 GT3 racecar. Where there is a Prancing Horse there is usually a Raging Bull snorting angrily and in the virtual space this is no different, as the one and only Lamborghini of the monstrous Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce makes itself welcome onto the list. Another Italian legend of motoring history is Maserati, and they are well represented as to why with the early classic Formula One racing 250F 6C and the 250F T2 12C. Modern times is given a place too, as the (imo) gorgeous GranTurismo MC GT4 racecar makes up the last of the vehicles to come with the pack. Assetto Corsa - Red Pack Ferrari SF-15T Ferrari F138 Ferrari 488 GT3 Maserati 250F 6C Maserati 250F T2 12C Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce But wait, there’s more! The Red Bull Ring of Austria is also included in all its authentic laser scanned glory, increasing the track selection by another notch in what is already quite an impressive line-up. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="5062,4923,5084,4905,5044] What about Private Lobbies? We knew you would ask this and thankfully so did the AC squad so we’ll just let them tell you. Don’t worry… They’re coming! ? Private lobbies are a big job, but the team are working incredibly hard to bring them to Assetto Corsa. While we don’t have a release date yet, you can expect them in the new year as part of a major update. More info soon! There is a promise of more info, a review round-up of the past year and an insight into what 2017 will bring by (I do like to tease them) Marco Massarutto and we will be sure to share that as it becomes available. [via Assetto Corsa blog] Note: the images shown are media from the PC releases.
  24. Porsche Pack Vol. 3 Switch With not much time left until the final Porsche Pack for Assetto Corsa becomes available for those on PC, there has been a late announcement about a change to the contents in regards to the Porsche 911 RSR 2017. Only recently revealed itself, the 911 RSR 2017 is a totally new car compared to previous iterations and in something of a first for the 911 range, it is mid-engined! Naturally Kunos want to faithfully reproduce it in the best way possible and so they have taken the decision to remove it from Porsche Pack Volume 3 so that they can spend more time on it. The 911 RSR 2017 is not an upgrade of the previous model, but a totally new car. As we want to ensure the best experience possible from this amazing model, we unfortunately need to spend a bit more time on it, meaning it won't be released as part of the Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC next week. They know this will come as a disappointment to many but they are not just removing the car and leaving an empty space to be filled later. No, they are replacing it with the modern 911 Turbo S that they say a number of their community have been asking for, even so far as to enquiring why it was missing in the first place. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6335,6336,6337,6338,6339] As for the 911 RSR 2017? That will still come to Porsche Pack Vol. 3 as a free upgrade in January so it is not being lost. I think it’s likely that the team have tried to get the car ready for its release but unfortunately it just hasn’t reached a point they are happy with and have taken the tough decision to pull it. Announcing this so close to the release reflects this to be more than likely and it is sort of refreshing to see them choose to do this. Plenty of others would release it as is and work on fixing it up later after all. Hopefully players will see this in a good light and not in some ‘they are not delivering what they promised’ rubbish as they could have delayed the whole pack to until the car was ready.
