  1. Get Down and DiRT 3! The DiRT series is one of those that's loved by many and rightfully so as it's just pure damn fun and looks sensational, so if you haven't picked it up in the past and want to see what it's about but not spend more than the cost of a McDonald's Regular Meal then here's your chance. As part of the Xbox Live sale on right now you can pick up the latest release for a very small chunk of green, or should that be copper and nickel or whatever coins are made of where you reside. Either way if you love your rally and your arcade racing thrill then jump on this as at that price it's hardly something you'll regret! So what are you waiting for?! Now you too can be like Ken Block and crash hard and fast all the time. *cheeky* DiRT 3 on Xbox Live Marketplace
  2. Codemasters are the generous sods this week on the weekly Humble Bundle and as the way of these things the price is amazing for what you are getting, not to mention that you can and probably will help out charities with your purchase too. Games * Overlord * Overlord: Raising Hell DLC * Operation Flashpoint: Red River * Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising * Rise of the Argonauts Spend over $6 to get these included! * DiRT Showdown * DiRT 3 * Overlord II Codemasters Humble Bundle
  3. Got It Uncovered GRID 2 has less than a month now to it's release day (wow time flies!) and they haven't been shy in throwing out the videos the last few weeks to show players what is coming their way when it does. Impressively, Codemasters have been live-streaming the game on it's twitch.tv channel, answering questions submitted via twitter and the live chat accompanying the stream as well as uploading the recording to youtube and their facebook for those who may have missed it. So what do we have on offer then, well we got plenty of videos showing off some of the tracks, another showing the time attack aspect of the game and another showing some of the customisation you guys will be able to do to your car. Some of these you can see below but for the full inventory be sure to check out the GRID 2 Youtube and watch what you want to your little hearts content.
  4. M The countdown to the release of GRID 2 gets shorter but the wait certainly doesn't get any easier when you have trailers like this being put out. This latest one is all about the epic line of 'M' cars from BMW and as you would expect all the goodies are shown in what is actually quite a sedate trailer considering what you would expect and has come in past media for the game. It's actually refreshing to watch each car be 'introduced' one-after-another with the occasional action scene to showcase the style of play that will be most evident in the game. GRID 2 is coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will launch from the 28th May.
  5. Maximum Multiplayer Mayhem Codemasters have released a new trailer depicting the multiplayer aspect of GRID 2 and you have to say it is looking decidedly mental! All about everything to do with the multiplayer side of the game as you would imagine we get glimpses of normal races, drifting and RaceNet which is like a social networking platform for the game. With it you can search for friends, follow others, show your ranking and upload videos of your escapades in the game. Many locations that have been seen before are shown but with the visual splendour of this game it's no bad thing and that is one thing GRID 2 has going for it, it's graphics. Just like the first it's a very pretty looking game, and if you thoroughly enjoyed the original GRID and spent many hours on then no doubt the sequel will be right up your street, alley, circuit.. well you get the idea. :) GRID 2 is out May 28th 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
  6. "Don't Follow. Lead" With only two months remaining before the scheduled release of GRID 2, Codemasters Racing have released two trailers that showcase some of the events and locations players will encounter as they they compete in WSR. If the PR staff at Codemasters are completely predictable, expect a third video featuring Asian drivers and events in approximately two weeks.
  7. Racing all over the World! Codemasters has today released the latest trailer of GRID 2. The video is the first gameplay trailer and shows some of the new locations players will be able to race around, including Paris, Barcelona, California, Chicago and the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria. Several cars are shown too but we'll leave you to pause through the clip and name them as there is so many and a few surprises too! GRID 2 is released in May this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Pre-order specials are available to early adopters! 8. GRID Ready to Race! Codemasters has announced the release date for the highly-anticipated GRID 2 which will be racing it's way to retailers in North America on May 28th and in Europe on May 31st for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Along with this there was also the mention of a GRID 2 Special Edition which is available for pre-order and features extra content that will be redeemable via Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and PC. In the UK the retailer GAME has Exclusivity over what's called the 'Brands Hatch Special Edition', this gives buyers access to 2 routes [layouts?] on the infamous Brands Hatch GP circuit as well as 2 new cars of the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT. McLaren Racing Pack: Receive the exclusive McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition car to race in single-player, multiplayer and a special online event; plus expand the game with two new routes around the Brands Hatch GP circuit. Head Start Pack: Receive the exclusive Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT car to race in single-player, multiplayer and enjoy discounts in the Car Upgrades Store in online game modes and a unique RaceNet bonus. So what do you think about this Special Edition? Are you going to be buying GRID 2? Let us know in the forum! [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="5]
  9. McLaren VS McLaren. FIGHT! Codemasters has released the first of a series of three videos which shows off some tasty driving of one of the cars you will find in the upcoming GRID 2 game. The fast and frantic live action video features two McLaren MP4-12C's battling [playing?] hard on the Brands Hatch Circuit. And driving these two delights is Chris Harris, who you may have seen on many videos test driving the best cars us mere mortals can only dream about, and Mat Jackson, the very talented and always great to watch British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) driver. The video is full of great sounds, fantastic power-slides and flames spitting out the exhaust set against the gorgeous lighting of an end of day sunset. We then get a brief clip of Harris being briefed by a Codemasters monkey who shows him the telemetry and tells him the ideal place to pull a pass. Harris also appears to be involved with the development and the handling of the game, why, we're not sure. “I’m thoroughly enjoying working on these videos for GRID 2, and adding a few pointers to help develop the handling on some of the key cars in the game. It’s a great opportunity to explore the ever-closer relationship between real driving and the virtual world” said Chris Harris. The first GRID game was a highly-regarded arcade racer praised for it's impressive visuals and crazy crash effects of which fans will be happy to know GRID 2 looks to continue and expand upon this even more. So if that's your sort of thing or you enjoyed the first game then this will clearly be on your radar for it's release coming in the Summer of this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. 10. And it's go-go-good fun! Formula 1? Check. Real F1 drivers? Check. [super] Mario Kart style flashbacks? ABSOLUTELY!! Yes people 'F1 Race Stars' from Codemasters is the F1 game nobody wanted but everyone will probably love as it's blend of Official F1 licenses coupled with insanely fun courses will make this quite possibly the new party game to play when you've had a few drinks or can't be bothered playing your 245th game of Wii Sports Bowling with your mates. The demo takes place on the 'Germany' track and four playable F1 racers are available: Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and the ever animated Kimi Räikkönen*. You can either play it on your lonesome in single player or get a few mates round and have a 4-player #oldskool split-screen match. Don't believe us? Well feel free to go and download the demo on your Xbox 360 now (Gold only for now) with PC and PS3 coming tomorrow (Thursday 8th November). Go on, have some fun for a change and laugh at the cartoon representations of your favourite F1 star. *Rumours that Räikkönen smiles in this game are still to this point unfounded. F1 Race Stars launches for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 16th November, 2012.
  11. Just got an email from codemasters, thought I'd share it with you: Codemasters Announce Colin McRae: DiRT™2 The game’s going to include loads of off-road events, taking you all over the world. This World Tour will have you competing in aggressive multi-car and intense solo races at extraordinary new locations. Exhilarating new events include the edge-of-control canyon racing of Utah’s “Creek Trailblazer” event, the treacherous muddy tracks of the “Rawang Rally Run”, set in the rainforests of Malaysia, and the “Battersea Battle” of London, where rallycross night races are staged in and around Battersea’s iconic disused power station, transformed into an industrial amphitheatre of racing. The Game will be powered by the third generation of the EGO Engine’s award-winning racing game technology, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will benefit from tuned-up car-handling physics system and new and improved damage engine effects. It will also be upping the ante in the visual stakes as well, by having cars and tracks twice as detailed as those seen in Race Driver: GRID! “Rally has attracted new stars and a new style that makes it more vibrant and exciting than ever before; it’s right up there as a premium extreme sport, attracting fresh crowds and a new confident attitude,” said Gavin Raeburn, senior executive producer, also known as Uncle Chewy on the forums. More Styles of Off-Road Racing Expanding on the variety of race styles, players can also expect a wider selection of race formats, inspired by authentic contemporary off-road solo, multi-car, and multi-class racing. ‘Rally’ returns reinvigorated with all-new edge-of-your-seat courses through hazardous new locations, the hugely popular ‘Rallycross’ also features for close battling racing in spectacular new settings. Raid, the reinvention of DiRT’s Rally Raid, will offer wide open point-to-point stages for multiple competitors to race the heavier off-road vehicles on terrain filled with natural obstacles. Trailblazer is the new hill climb event that will take drivers downhill too and there’s more to be announced… Faster, More Powerful Cars Covering seven vehicle classes, You’ll get the keys to powerful vehicles right from the off! As an example of what we are talking about, the opening drive in the game is the Group N Subaru; essentially making the ultimate car from the original game the starting point in the sequel, and the metal gets faster and even more impressive from there. Tour The World Immersing yourself in the World Tour and delivering a true feeling of progression, you’ll travel the globe in your own RV; the interior of which will form both the game’s front end and the gateway to new locations. As illustrated in the trailer video, at each location the RV will park up ahead of the race event, with the awaiting scene visible through the windows. Full Online Play In addition to the World Tour, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will come complete with full online functionality that will be core to the overall experience, with head-to-head competitive online play and new social features to engage the racing community. Sign up for the drive of your life at www.codemasters.com/dirt2, and race over to the Dirt 2 forums to discuss all the latest news and game features!
