  4. Assetto Corsa 'Ferrari 70 Pack' Console Release Date The Assetto Corsa ‘Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack’ for PS4 and Xbox One has a release date! Kunos Simulazioni have announced on Facebook that console players will be able to download the new celebratory pack on October 31st. This new premium (not included in Season Pass remember!) seven-car pack celebrates the 70th anniversary of one of the most infamous automotive manufacturers and motorsport racing names in history. Many of their cars, be it those suited to the road or dedicated racers have become legends in their own right – with the Prancing Horse logo and badge being so well known, that even the most uninformed person could likely name it. Steeped in success and excess, the contents of the pack include many familiar faces grills. From classics to modern-day, road cars to racing cars, even to the present-day Scuderia Ferrari Formula One racecar currently competing in this year's championship! Included after a public poll voted it the outright winner. This and the rest of the Ferraris included are shown below: Assetto Corsa - Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack 1962 250 GTO 1967 330 P4 1967 312/67 1984 GTO 2004 F2004 2017 812 Superfast SF70H Kudos Kunos! Stating not too long ago that they were looking to bring down the time difference between content releases on PC and console, this news is a sign that this was not said to shut up moaners, but actually something they are actively working on. Players on PS4 and Xbox One might have had to wait six weeks to get it compared to those on PC, however it has to be remembered that the consoles have to go through a submission and approval process. And as has been seen in the past, delays from this can result in even longer waits (poor Xbox One players). Happily, it appears Kunos are getting a handle on this as the Ferrari 70 DLC pack passed by pretty swiftly. [via Assetto Corsa Facebook]
  5. Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack Out Now! The Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack is now available to purchase on PC (Steam). In an amazing collaborative effort with the infamous Italian auto manufacturer, developers Kunos Simulazioni have gone and put together a pack that includes some of the most iconic models to have ever had a Ferrari badge on them. And with the title already having a rather nice selection of Ferraris in its roster by default, as well as those delivered inside the optional Red Pack, the scope covered in this new car pack is quite impressive, as classic and modern varieties of both road and racing cars make up its list. You would think having 70 years of production and racing heritage to choose from would be difficult, and it should be. But when people think of Ferrari, there are a number of cars that will always rank high, and so it is of little wonder that we see some of them here. Even then, Kunos only had to choose six as they left the final slot open for the winner of a poll that was voted for by their community, where with over 30,000 votes cast it was the current Formula 1 car taking the win with over 15% of the vote. Assetto Corsa - Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack 1962 250 GTO 1967 330 P4 1967 312/67 1984 288 GTO 2004 F2004 2017 812 Superfast SF70H Depending on the type of player, this pack may be good for having more road cars to hot lap with, the ability to re/create racing series’, or even if they are a true Ferrari fan, they might want nothing more than to set up a one make race where the field is filled with only the legends that sport a Prancing Horse. Therefore if you like what you see, have a fondness for an Italian red beauty, or just want more cars in your copy of AC, then this pack will do you well. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="small-post-image" ids="7285,7286,7296,7297,7298,7299,7293,7294,7295,7287,7288,7289,7290,7291,7292,7304,7305,7306,7307,7308,7300,7301,7302,7303,7310,7311,7312,7313,7309] As for those looking on enviously from console: unfortunately at this time there is little known in regards to a PS4 or Xbox One release timeframe for the Ferrari 70 Pack apart from a mention about it being "available in Fall [Autumn] 2017". That means at some point before the end of November. Honestly though, I would say as long as it drops before the end of the year that would be good – any earlier is a bonus
  6. Ferrari 70th Car Pack Release Date The Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack for Assetto Corsa arrives on September 19th for Steam, followed shortly afterwards (supposedly) by the PS4 and Xbox One. Announced together with a video showcasing the absolute legend that is the Ferrari 250 GTO, Kunos Simulazioni have revealed that the seven car pack that was first mentioned at the start of the year has been in development for more than eight months, all of which has likely been a labour of love for the Italian studio. (yeah right) Kunos Simulazioni is glad to announce that after more than eight months of development, the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack finally is coming to Assetto Corsa: it will be available on Steam on September 19th, to be followed soon on PS4 and XBox One. The package as a whole will include a selection of seven of the most iconic cars ever produced by the Italian car manufacturer! With over 70 years of Ferrari road and racing car production history to choose from, it is not at all surprising to see some of the regulars within the list. The Prancing Horse may have decorated many a vehicle in its time but not all of them have become icons of the brand as compared to those that keep appearing in not only games, but also the top of public votes. Models such as the 250 GTO and the 330 P/4 are synonymous with the manufacturer’s history, while the 288 GTO is well-known in gaming circles because of the amount of titles to have included it, and let's be honest, the latest road-going model of the 812 Superfast getting its own slot is of little wonder either, as it's a commonly employed marketing tactic to have your latest featured. But hey at least this one is a bit of a beast! And even though I am still a bit upset that the F333 SP wasn't the eventual winner (it came 10th!), let's not forget that community-vote winning modern-day F1 car that is doing really well for Vettel this season. As with it, one of the more fascinating things to do with this pack will be to compare the 2017 machine to its 50 years its senior older sibling. Where something tells me, the grip levels are going to be one of major contrast. Now who doesn't want to experience that?! Assetto Corsa: Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 1967 Ferrari 330 P/4 1967 Ferrari 312/67 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO 2004 F2004 F1 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast 2017 Ferrari SF70H (Community Poll winner) Assetto Corsa is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
  7. The Engine That Made Ferrari The year 2017 is the 70th anniversary of Ferrari and throughout the year already there have been celebratory events and plenty written about the automotive legend. None more so than this exhaustive history lesson by JBR Capital, where they delve into the history of the V12 engine and how it made Ferrari. This guide was recommended via an email (nearly lost among the spam) and after checking it out I agreed that it's well worth sharing. We thought we’d put together another definitive guide, this time to the legendary V12 engine. There’s an awful lot to talk about, so we’ve tried to cover it from all angles – factual, historical, mechanical and cultural. We very much hope you enjoy it, and if so don’t forget to share it with your fellow enthusiasts. And they're not kidding when they say "there's an awful lot to talk about" as there is so much about Ferrari within this that even fans of the famous marque might learn something they never knew before. There are some brief times where it strays away from talking about the V12 specifically, but that can be forgiven because of the knowledge that is being gifted upon us when it does happen. From learning why Ferrari’s cars were named what they were at the start, its racing history, cultural impact through the celebrities who have been owners, print media that have featured and compared them, and the cars that have become icons themselves through TV shows and film. This is a great way to join in with the Ferrari 70 celebrations and get informed about one of the biggest automotive legacies ever. It will take some time to go through completely, but it's worth it. Thanks Nathan Soulier for the tip!
  8. Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary DLC Bolting out of the stable a bit prematurely than intended, the details about the upcoming Assetto Corsa Ferrari 70th Anniversary car pack have become known, together with a confirmed ‘fall 2017’ release. Thanks to user Kelvjy who brought it to our attention on our forums, the page on the official website for the game lists six Ferrari models that will make up all but one of those to be included. It’s a right stormer of a list, not just for Ferrari fans either, but for automotive enthusiasts anywhere! Assetto Corsa: Ferrari 70th Anniversary DLC 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 1967 Ferrari 330 P/4 1967 Ferrari 312/67 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO 2004 F2004 F1 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast As we already learned at the start of the year, the community will have an opportunity to have a say about its contents and this is taking place through them being able to decide on the final model. This is possible due to Ferrari allowing Kunos Simulazioni to reproduce the winning model from the poll for inclusion pack. All the usual suspects are in there: from historic racecars, 70s and 90s era F1, a variety of GT-class racers, and oft-forgotten road cars like the 550M and 360 Modena. Voting is performed by visitors making their choice from the available options, entering their name and email address and then finally submitting their entry. Once done, the vote cannot be changed and the current standings are not viewable either. It should be realised that because this page went up before it should have that the information contained within it isn’t officially confirmed and is very much subject to change.

  10. I don't know if anyone here is able to do 3d modeling, but one might be able to change just a few things from the 512 TR without needing a whole model from scratch. The car is a 1994 Ferrari F512 Modificato, the last model in the Testarossa lineup and one of my personal favorites. I haven't seen a request for it so here's one. 11. Santa Claus is Driving Through Town As loads of kids all across the world get super hyper because Santa will be stopping by their homes in less than a week, it is good to see Santa himself trying out new ways of delivering those presents. In the footage captured by TheSUPERCARDRIVER while Santa was on a stop off in the UK, we see the jolly old fellow pulling a fast one by taking some presents out in a bright as Rudolph’s nose red Ferrari Enzo. The V12 engine cover making light work of carrying a bunch of wrapped up gifts that will be making their way under some Christmas trees this December 25th. Tootling about town and hitting the open roads, he opens up the Enzo's taps a bit and it’s clear to see from the expression that he is thoroughly enjoying himself while doing so. And who could blame him, he is behind the wheel of one of the ultimate Ferraris after all! It’s unlikely though that even with a 217 mph top speed, that the Enzo will replace those wonderful and magic reindeer and sleigh from being the vehicle of choice for carrying out the big Christmas delivery, but with the amount of work Mr Claus will be putting in this weekend, we can easily allow him a bit of showboating and grandeur before he sets out for the main event.
  12. Honouring The Italian Greats With Assetto Corsa's latest DLC, the Red Pack, comes seven iconic Italian sports cars and a new track to test them on! Along with the new DLC arrives the latest update, v1.7 with a number of small tweaks and big improvements as requested by the AC community. The Red Pack The new DLC is a tribute to the many wonderful, famous and infamous sports cars to come out of Italian factories bearing the badges of Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. With the Red Pack you also get a taste of the latest tyre model, version 10. While v10 feels very similar to the current tyre model, it is actually a complete rewrite and one step closer to realism. Tyre model V10 will be rolling out to the rest of the car list in the coming months. The seven iconic cars included in this pack are: Ferrari SF15-T, the first Ferrari GP car to debut in Assetto Corsa, and the second car made by Ferrari since the reintroduction of turbo-charged engines. Ferrari F138, a Formula One car designed by Scuderia for 2013's Formula One season. Named F138 to mark the year it was raced in and the final season that would use V8 engines. Ferrari 488 GT3, a racing version of the 458 Italia's replacement, the 488 GTB, which sports a 3.9 litre, twin turbo V8. Maserati 250F 6C, another Formula One racer that took part between January 1954 and November 1960, it had a 2.5 litre naturally asipirated straight six. Maserati 250F T2 12C, with a change in rules, in 1956 this 250F was able to run a V12 engine. Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4, this GT4 racecar features the standard 4.7 liter engine, however with the fitting of an air-scoop power is reduced from 488bhp to 430bhp however was fitted with a newly designed rear spoiler and modified diffuser to help take on its GT4 rivals. Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce, with a weight loss of 50kg and power increased to 750bhp this Lamborghini is a little bit nuts. 0-100km/h takes just 2.8 seconds and it can reach a top speed of over 350km/h. An exciting selection that'll give you plenty of entertainment, no doubt. As well as seven new vehicles, you'll also get a new track to thrash them on, Austria's Red Bull Ring! The Red Bull Ring is, for the first time ever in PC racing, digitally recreated using laser scanning technology. This results in the most accurate reproduction and highest level detail possible. Download now on Steam for £6.99. Version 1.7 In the latest update comes a number of new features and improvements. As the community has requested, false starts have now been implemented, which can result in players facing penalties for jumping the gun. New physics improvements have been included also, such as tweaks to the current tyre model which makes tyres more sensitive and responsive to initial tyre pressures, as well as improvements to the realigning forces, and more. Assetto Corsa is now able to simulate brake temperatures, which is initially included in some Red Pack cars and will also be rolled out to the rest of the cars in coming months. The KERS/hybrid electric systems have also been tweaked for the F138 to behave more realistically. Other improvements include new artificial intelligence algorithms and improved overtaking maneuvers, which result in AI drivers displaying a more varied performance during single laps and sessions, and also a new experimental multiplayer code which reduces bandwidth usage and improves quality of online sessions. And finally my personal favourite change in the v1.7.3 changelog, "Fixed strut suspensions going full banana". Brilliant. 13. Ferrari 488 GT3 It's been a few days since there's been anything heard from the Assetto Corsa team, but now, one day before the pack release itself, the fifth car model of the nearly here 'Red Pack' has been revealed, and it is another Ferrari. Meaning a minimum of three prancing horses will be in amongst the seven Italian examples that will be included with the new DLC. With the addition of the 488 GT3, the already impressive variety of GT cars will be boosted even more and it is something Kunos themselves seem quite proud of. "Our GT2/GT3 grid will be one of the most complete in the genre and a step forward in providing the best GT experience ever!" The car which was brought in to replace the 458 - that is also represented in the game - has divided opinion just like it's predecessor. Some like it, others think the front looks 'unfinished' but there is always one thing you can be certain of with mid-engine road cars from Ferrari, and that is that they handle supremely well. And when they then take that road going model and turn it into a track runner, things in that area get even better. So that's two cars left to reveal of this pack and it is looking like we will learn what they are from the pack itself. Those five that have been given official exposure are the Ferrari 488 GT3, the historic Maserati 250F 6C, the F1 duo of the 2013 Ferrari F138 and the 2015 Ferrari SF15-T and last but not in anyway least, the Lamborghini Aventador SV. The 'Red Pack' is out tomorrow (July 14th) on Steam and available for the consoles later in the year. 19. Ferrari F40 Snow Camp There's a bit of a strange going on with supercars and some of their owners these days. The typical garage queen philosophy is going out the constant temperature controlled room window and instead in comes new and exciting ways of pushing these vehicles beyond anything they were typically meant for. As of late, it would be the Tax the Rich 100 nutcases who would be the ones that come to mind of who would take an expensive dream motor on some wild ride. However we are happy to say they're not the only ones, as this extremely well produced video for Red Bull called "Snow Camp Feat. Ferrari F40" proves. Beginning with the driver in the garage loading his luggage on top of the car and then taking his seat inside where he starts the engine, we are treated to the first clue that this is no mundane drive that is coming, as the car is sporting a set of rally lights on the front. Pushing in his favourite cassette tape ('a what?' the young 'uns ask) he's off along the wet and no doubt slippery roads to his first stop, the "Spicy Rentals" shop to pick up some items the typical skier may want: tyre chains and some studded tyres of course. After making sure the badge of the Prancing Horse isn't covered in snow, it's time to drop the power and head up the hills, ignoring the ski-lifts as obviously you cannot get a car into them. Blasting along some snow-covered trails with the rear stepping out, surprising those who are just walking along, this is where we see the person behind the wheel show off their outstanding car control. Night falls and it's all downhill from here... literally. The car speeds down the slope with all lights blazing, bouncing about due to the uneven surface it is currently hitting with crazy velocity, and then after reaching the bottom it's back onto the narrow trails. Surrounded by trees and with even more snow falling, we again see the driver pilot the legendary F40 with precision and skill that makes your eyes widen and your ears do nothing but hear the gorgeous noises being spat out as the engine rings out the notes of what the driver's feet are playing. (Yep, I did just write that didn't I?) Locating a good place to stop for the night, it's time to park up, collect some wood, strike up a fire and cook yourself some noodles. And if you're still not quite ready for bed after your feed, it's only normal to light up a flare, walk through the woods and hold it aloft while looking out towards the city lights. 20. Today marks the start of the pre-season testing, which is quite different compared to how it used to be in that we're seeing most of the cars officially for the first time today rather than the 3-4 week period of unveiling that most teams used to do a few years ago (that some still do). McLaren-Honda: Jenson Button & Fernando Alonso stay put. Still without a title sponsor, which is making them lose out on about £20m per year. Appears to be sticking with Ron Dennis as team principle, and Eric Boullier as Racing Director. Obvious concerns over pace/reliability, Ron Dennis refused to make predictions about the 2016 season. Scuderia Ferrari: Sticking with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen Quick in pre-season testing. Most likely the biggest competitors to Mercedes in 2016 Red Bull-Tag Heuer: Sticking with Daniil Kyvat and Daniel Ricciardo Infiniti has dropped out as a title sponsor, meaning the purple colour has gone from the livery. Matt Black finish on the Red Bulls, it stands out rather well on TV. The Renault engines are labelled as Tag-Heuer engines, and are expected to develop well throughout the season. Christian Horner does not expect RB to be challenging Mercedes for pole. Scuderia Toro Rosso: As seen by the scuderia in the name, Toro Rosso will now be running Ferrari engines, different to their sister team RB. Sticking with Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz JR. Due to differences in the size of the ferrari and renault engines, the Toro Rossos will be more different than in previous years. Force India: Staying with Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez Had a fairly strong 2015, has potential to grab some points in 2016. Manor Racing: The old Marussia F1 team has rebranded to become Manor Switch from Ferrari engines, to Mercedes power. Management reshuffle, Booth and Lowdon both gone. Dave Ryan is the new racing director Driver reshuffle, Will Stevens and Roberto Mehri out, Rio Haryanto and Pascal Wehrlein in. They're a bit more confident that the MRT05 will be quite competitive. Haas F1: New team for 2016 Will be using Ferrari power (and many other Ferrari components). Esteban Gutierrez and Romain Grosjean will be the drivers. Former Jaguar and RBR technical director Gunther Steiner will be the team principle. Gene Haas, team owner, expects the team to be a backrunner for a few years much like his other motorsport teams, before doing well. Williams: Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas will remain drivers. Susie Wolff no longer a reserve driver, replaced by Alex Lynn They're being quite careful about how optimistic they are for the upcoming season, but hopefully they'll continue to bite at the rear of the front runners if not more. Sauber: Maruc Ericsson and Felipe Nasr have kept their seats. Not much else to report on the Sauber front..... which hopefully isn't indicative of their upcoming season. Renault: Formerly Lotus F1 (Which was formerly Renault). Grosjean has moved to Haas, Maldonado has lost his seat in F1. Jolyon Palmer (GP2 Champ) and Kevin Magnussen are the confirmed drivers. Bob Bell is the chief technical director and Frederic Vasseur is the racing director. The RS16's livery is meant to be temporary? I'm sure I've heard that they're waiting on a title sponsor similar to McLaren. Mercedes F1: Hamilton and Rosberg have kept their seats. Still consists of the Niki Lauda/Toto Wolff/Paddy Lowe trio as management. The car is looking quick as expected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what's there to know? - The cars appear to have gone on a bit of a diet at the rear, not necessarily lighter, they just appear to have a skinnier arse. - The noise is meant to be a huge improvement, 10-15% louder. - The Ferrari is meant to be closer to the Mercedes than in the previous 2 years, but where will Williams come? - WIll Manor be as competitive as they've let on?

  23. Hello Maranello After the understated reveal that the Ferrari F40 was coming to Need for Speed (NFS) it was wondered what else from the Maranello stable, if anything, would come with it? Well there is at least one more, as the next of the Prancing Horses to be shown is the more recent 458 Italia coupé. These two cars are separated by around 20 years but they are held in high regards to the fun they deliver to whoever's lucky enough to be driving. With the F40 this is mainly down to weight being the core idea, with paint so thin you could see the carbon fibre weave underneath and the welds from the welding inside as coverings were seen as unnecessary additional weight. At the opposite end of that time frame, the 458 - which has since been superseded by the 488 GTB - used large swathes of technology and clever computing to make the driver look like a lot more adept than what they really were, keeping them from heading towards the nearest ditch when in the throws of some spirited driving. Seeing Ferrari in car games may not seem that out of the ordinary but you have to remember that NFS will have extensive customisation and Police -- two things that Ferrari have never really cared to have their cars seen with. Need for Speed is out in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with PC coming in Spring 2016.
