  1. The Crew Motorfest announced - Welcome back to O'ahu! After growing rumour and speculation, Ubisoft's Ivory Tower studio revealed their 3rd game in The Crew series. First planned as an expansion to The Crew 2, the project has grown large enough to warrant a full title release. The reveal trailer shows the return to the popular island paradise O'ahu among Hawaii's islands. A variety of vehicles were shown in the video trailer (below), and the return of boats and aircraft has also been confirmed in a developer interview. 'Hundreds of cars' will be available to players. One notable difference compared to Test Drive Unlimited will be the adaptation of O'ahu into a smaller playable area as opposed to aiming for a 1:1 scale recreation. Key locations, such as the city of Waikiki, appear to remain close to their original size, but we imagine the long roads and highways linking these points of interest may be squished, taking inspiration from the map design in The Crew 1 & 2. The advantage of this decision, according to game director Stéphane Beley, is that environment artists can “touch every kilometre” instead of relying on procedural generation techniques, and players can enjoy a "higher density of activities and biomes". Fans can register their interest in joining the Insider Program, which will allow for confidential play-testing and sharing of feedback prior to launch later in 2023. Four stages are planned, each inviting progressively more PC and eventually console players to join. The Crew Motorfest is planned to launch sometime in 2023 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The Crew (1) launched on 2 December 2014, and The Crew 2 launched on 29 June 2017. New content continues to be added to The Crew 2 even in early 2023, with Season 7 Episode 2 showcasing high-speed races in Blizzard conditions. What do you think of this news? Are you excited to return to O'ahu, even if it is squished beyond recognition in places? Do you think Ivory Tower and Ubisoft will nail the physics and game progression? Have you registered for the early access closed beta test?
  2. Meet the next instalment in the TDU series, as some familiar faces tour Hong Kong Island, the Solar Hotel, and Street/Sharp Headquarters. The game is reportedly feature complete (excluding post-launch content) and now expected to release early in 2024, avoiding a crowded release window with the likes of The Crew Motorfest and Forza Motorsport, and allowing more time to optimise and polish the game. If you haven't already, be sure to visit testdriveunlimited.com and sign up to the newsletter for a chance to be invited into future beta tests. Got thoughts? Share them below! Image credit: Alex VII
  3. TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED SOLAR CROWN NEWS // 21 April 2021 KT Racing + Nacon have provided their second glimpse at the highly-anticipated third installment in the Test Drive Unlimited series. The brief trailer teases the lifestyle players can expect to experience: Why send a message to a Solar Crown competitors' smart-watch when you can leave a conspicuous-looking envelope on the dresser? Somebody better start a car list thread... Have you ever seen such high quality car key fobs in a racing game before? Indicators present and accounted for. Dat Ass... ton Martin. Is this a hint at the quality of in-game characters and level of customisation available? Might this person be 'feeling in top form'? The casino will be a welcome return for many players. You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run... You never count your car keys while you're sitting at the table, there'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done. Could this be the exit ramp of a giant yacht? With a casino on said yacht? The next chapter (presumably another video trailer) is expected 3 months from now in July 2021. Don't be shy, what do you think of this trailer? What hints have we missed speculating about?

So, who's who from TDU World and what do they do? The TDU World community is best known for their ongoing work in building a community server for Test Drive Unlimited 2. This will allow players who have legally purchased TDU2 for PC to play the game online again. The project aims to restore free-drive multiplayer, online races, clubs, casino, and more. Also to be included are a custom launcher and large collection of vehicle mods, similar to TDU Platinum and Project Paradise for TDU1. @xXBeefyDjXx Founder & Project Manager @///Λquarious Co-Founder & Project Manager @blurredpixel, @derole1595641360, @Maru1595641363, @Panuchi Server Developers TDU World Previews https://twitter.com/TDU_World If you would like to discuss the TDU World project, we encourage you to visit the TDU2 Mod Shop or TDU World Club.
  5. Rumours are creating a lot of discussions around what was previously codenamed an upcoming Xbox One Maverick console. A new name and preorder date have surfaced. Meet the new Xbox One S All-Digital Edition: While we can't 100% confirm this name is final, players have been quick to abbreviate it this SAD console and jeer Microsoft's marketing department for this seeming oversight. Preorders for this console are anticipated to begin in April 2019. No information about specs is available at this time, but we assume it will be very similar to existing Xbox One S hardware, perhaps with revised cooling and obviously no optical drive. Perhaps the in-built storage specifications are increased significantly to allow more simultaneous game installations. But then again, perhaps a justification against this is that owners of this console will be more likely to stream their games rather than purchase and install them. This would allow for the SAD Box to be sold cheaper. But will you need a console at all? Microsoft has been talking about making it's Cloud Game Streaming service available on all sorts of devices, including the Nintendo Switch and even on PlayStation. (I really can't imagine Sony signing up for that). Consoles often have sold at slim profit margins - it's the games and online services that rake in the money. So if Microsoft can have players using (or just paying for) its services on any devices, there aren't too many reasons left to care about selling consoles. Performance? Servers handle the performance of rendering streamed games. What about PCs? It sure has been nice to be able to play Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3 + 4 on my PC, even without an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. But I fear this may not last. A new 'fast-ring' preview build of Windows 10 has been revealed to support playing Xbox Game disc images natively, with Microsoft providing one game to these beta users for free and encouraging them to try playing the game and reporting feedback. This seems to suggest that future versions of Windows 10 will be able to play any Xbox 1 game. But when that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft requires these PC players to have Xbox Live Gold. While fast gaming PCs may cost more to build, part of this is significantly offset by having free multiplayer and cheaper games. This being true in the future seems uncertain. Forza titles are only sold on PC through the Microsoft store, and at a very high price compared to what Steam customers may be used to. If you own one of these games on disc, there is no way to claim a digital copy on PC. The only saving grace is that the game can be purchased once for both PC and Xbox hardware, and with free multiplayer to boot. What about you? If you already own an Xbox One S or X edition, the new SAD edition won't offer much for you. If you don't, would you consider this as an option this late in the product lifecycle? Would you instead wait and see if a newer faster Xbox is released in a year or two? Have you tried any game streaming services before? What were your impressions? I've had bad experiences streaming Steam games over my wired LAN, so as a fan of racing games where quick reflexes (and minimal frame delays) are key, the prospect of streaming over the Internet doesn't seem like it will ever be viable for me.
  6. Reports: Apple to purchase McLaren Technology Group? So, the internet is already flooded with Apple Mac/McLaren puns and jokes so I will save you the pain of having to read too many more. The Financial Times is running a story today stating that Apple has approached McLaren Technology Group with the intention of acquiring the luxury automobile manufacturer. The interesting thing here is that the Technology Group has 3 main subsidiaries: McLaren Applied Technologies: produces high-end next-gen items such as Mark Cavendish's Tour De France bicycle McLaren Automotive: This is the car manufacturer, producing the 570S, 650S, P1 and more. McLaren Racing Limited/McLaren Honda: This is the world famous Formula One team. So why would the Mac maker be buying the Mc racer? Image credit: Automobile Italia Flickr Apple's interest in venturing into the automobile sector has been widely reported for many years now, with an 'Apple Car' being supposedly in the works for coming up to 3-4 years with little to no details having been released about the project by the tech juggernaut as of September 2016. Apple has been poaching a team of auto engineers and designers throughout this period but the end goal of this project is not clear. Is Apple aiming to provide technology to underpin cars manufactured by other companies, or is it wanting to manufacturer and design its own vehicles? A possible coupling with McLaren might answer some of these questions. With the British based company owning an impressive amount of patents, being at the forefront of automobile technology and renown for its engineering practices Apple would be buying a brand with a strong reputation. What could this mean for McLaren? The potential consequences of this acquisition for McLaren could be small, or gigantic, it will come down to how ambitious Apple are being with their Apple Car project. If the project aims to be a mass-produced consumer product then this will be a sea change for McLaren who currently only manufacture thousands of vehicles per year, not the tens or hundreds of thousands Apple could potentially sell. The F1 team has been struggling to find a title sponsor for the cars for the past 2-3 seasons so could we soon see the fruit logo on the race track? Time will tell. Are these reports genuine? And if so, will we see Apple making a large investment in the company or attempt a full takeover? Post your thoughts in the comment section below or on the Forum. 8. Rather than make a new thread about semi-interesting stuff that then dies after week, why not have one general news chat thread thingo for the lot. Anyway there's been a little bit of talk already about the Hyperloop, which even if it was built between LA and SF, wouldn't have any affect on us everywhere else. You probably remember that Taiwanese animation company who specialise news clips, we'll they've recently published this video:
  9. The latest News, Screens, Videos, Trailers and articles regarding Cyberpunk 2077 until it's actually released. CD Projekt RED (CDPR) tonight showed off the Teaser Trailer for their new game; Cyberpunk 2077. This game is highly anticipated with only a few renders shown and of course this first teaser trailer and the main reason is because they are a well liked and respected developer because unlike the majority of them they listen and acknowledge their fans. And in a poetic light they could actually be the very definition of a developer who are actually gamers. If you haven't heard of them by name then no doubt you will have heard of their main game series of 'The Witcher' and perhaps even their Digital Distribution Mecca of http://gog.com. Well now they have a new IP to add next to The Witcher and this is Cyberpunk 2077. A game that looks like it will be a blend of Blade Runner, Fifth Element, Mass Effect and Deus Ex. Not so much in their gameplay but more the look, feel and characters that we will see. If you watch the trailer below you will see many things to excite including of course the 'femme fatale' android who appears to be about to get swift justice dispensed straight to her head. Interestingly enough they are still assembling the team for this game and the release date is said to be an ironically reassuring "When it's done". I say this because even though we may want it as quick as, we also want a good quality game at the same and of course as has been proved many times in the past 'Good things come to those who wait' and this is especially true when it comes to a CDPR game. I'll be watching this one for sure along with 'The Last of Us' and 'Watch Dogs'. The future for the Futuristic RPG seems incredibly forthcoming and I personally can't wait! Teaser Trailer - 10/01/2013
  10. Have you watched one of those titles? it was good? (>‘o’)> what do you think about the Anime industry is bringing us right now? According to the new anime series coming and currently airing, make a recommendation, share your ideas, discuss or post news about series. Not just something you have watched but series you wish to watch and expectations. ≧◠◡◠≦✌ Something to consider: The idea of this to be a sane and fun discussion about Anime, if there is any anime series you didn't like, you can tell the experience as well but being the most neutral possible and not succumb to the easy-breezy flaming :3
  11. [uPDATE #5 :: 2009-07-18] So seeing some of the work was removed from the sites I found last time I went on another little hunt for TDU2 stuff and unbelievably I found some more, I know I know I'm just that good. :cheeky: Wahey! What do we have here, an update? Yeah but only a small one but a good one all the same. Nothing really knew as such, basically along the same lines as that below but bigger and clearer. Oh yes! :D A much larger image of the concept artwork from before. I'm guessing this is the 3D Artist who did the car this time and the artwork itself was done by the artist before. :) Now here's some interesting tests. Render Animation showing the above in action And save the best for last? A render of what looks appears to be a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. This render looks like it makes up some of the Murcielago R-GT lookalike from the concept art above and below. The image was a personal render by the artist. - image removed - [uPDATE #4 Part 2 :: 2009-06-25] Image slice showing some car controls that may make it into the game Possible explanation for each below (clockwise from Top) Left: Headlights Fullbeam, Right Indicator/Blinker, Dipped Headlights (Driving Lights?), Left Indicator/Blinker Middle: Park Car, Wipers On/Off, Windows Up/Down, Roof Up/Down Right: Radio/Music, Driving Aids?, GPS zoom?, Chronopack Like Who brilliantly mentioned, perhaps you will be able to assign your favourites to the D-pad also. :D Sorry I forgot to post this link of a 3D Artist showing some ingame screens (some we've seen) including night! Marina Arnaudova :: 3D Artist on TDU2 (work has since been removed) Concept Renders and Artwork for an Airport Concept Renders and Artwork for Racing School (part hidden due to what it contains) This Looks Fun! [uPDATE #4 :: 2009-06-25] Yesterday I went on a hunt for TDU2 info and came up with so much stuff that it would be wrong for me to post all that I found, so as strange as it sounds I'm not going to be doing that. What I am going to do you can see below. Now remember none of this is official, it's completely been found out and about on the internet, nothing said or shown is official or can be confirmed as being in TDU2 or even confirming TDU2's release as such. Yes it may very well be and of course we all hope it is in Production but don't forget what you see below is in no way official. So please don't get too excited as things could change. The key information I found said a lot about the game and what it would contain but it is my feeling that if I were to post it up that it would in fact spoil the game should it arrive especially if you were to see the scenarios and features that were discussed. So please enjoy what you have for now as anything is better than nothing, right? :D Ok let's get on with the show! Concept Artwork - (the car renders are not by the artist) More Custom Offroad Artwork Ford Mustang in the Rain Some Tunnels Customary Waterfalls! I might post some more later, need to look at the images and see what can be shown without spoiling too much. =========================================== Thanks to BADNED!! (yes you know him guys) Test Drive Unlimited 2, sequel to the award winning Test Drive Unlimited, will see probably its official unveiling sometime later this year and I'm going to share with you guys. Are you ready? Good, now feast your eyes on some early media. From concept art to some early ingame material with some game related info thrown in between, so you can get an idea of what to expect from the sequel. But keep in mind that all the media is at least one to two years old, in case of ingame material showing an very early build, and it is possible that in the end not everything will be in the final game. Will update the thread in the next two or three days with some more stuff. :D Lets start with some early concept art. The biggest new thing in TDU2 will be off-road racing, featuring various new classes of vehicles including SUV's, Buggy's, Motocross and ATV's. Click images below to view larger size. Concept Art: SUV's/4x4's driving through wetlands Concept Art: Ducati vs. Hummer It is planned to have at least one new location besides Hawaii. Concept Art: A Buggy race The following concept art was originally done for TDU but now updated showing the other new element in TDU2, rain! Yes, this time it won't be only sunshine, the weather will change dynamically to cloudy/foggy, rain up to heavy tropical thunder storms, all which will influence both your maneouverability as well as your visibility. [uPDATE #1 :: 2009-02-24] Sorry that I'm a bit late but now let's continue with part #2. Lets start with an artwork that shows the new theme of TDU2. It is possible that this art will be used for promotional stuff and even in some form find its way on the cover. TDU2 Artwork: A New Direction TDU2 Concept Art: A Tough Battle It is planned to actually have a story this time around told through cutscenes and dialogues. The player will meet both friends and foes throughout the career while starting with nothing somewhere in nowhere. Your ingame avatar will have more tuning options then before, more clothes, more accessories, tattoos and body piercing. There will be hairstylists and barber shops where you can get a cut or a completely new hairstyle. You have problems with the police or some enemies and you don't want that they recognize you anymore, no problem, go to the clinic and undertake a plastic surgery on your face or any other cosmetic treatment. Here is an early ingame look on the updated avatar. TDU2: InGame Avatar The following is an early ingame shader test image but you might notice something new in there, exactly, a fuel gauge!!. Yes, this time you will have to keep an eye on it while cruising and fill it up at the nearest gas station or you will end up stranded on the street. TDU2: InGame Shader Test Everyone say thank you to BADNED :D [uPDATE #2 :: 2009-02-25] Let's continue with some more exclusive teasing. As always keep in mind, these are early concepts, ideas or stuff in development and might in that form not be featured in the final game. In case you wondered what happened to all the normal cars and bikes after you heard all that off-road stuff, don't worry, nearly all, if not all your favorite makes from TDU will be back including some new ones. But since this is something where licenses are involved, nothing can be confirmed nor denied at the moment until the deals are fix, and as you may know from the past, licensing issues like to appear at the very last moment. In case of cars, you will have this time a bit more control, not just the windows or the radio, this time you will be able to turn on, turn off the windshield wipers, thanks to the rain, or in case you are driving an convertibel, open/close the roof, just to name a few. The world is planned to be more richer in detail, to have more life, thanks to that that the people in the game will actually talk this time around, there will be a story, you will have to fight your way up to the top, not just switching from one task to another like in TDU. An early ingame look at the expanded world, new ways, new places, new adventures. You know who to thank! [uPDATE #3 :: 2009-02-26] Here we go with the final bit of teasing. Races and tournaments on actual closed racing circuits are planned to play a bigger role this time. Also a full 24 hour night and day cycle is planned to finally find its way into the game. Will be of importance cause some missions and races will be only accessible at a certain time. TDU2: An early look at the Main Menu Following is an early look at the map screen, you may notice the clock at the top in the middle, below it the display for the current weather and below that a graph going from dawn till dusk, all of importance for the player. TDU2: An early look at the Map Another new thing which you probably noticed in the screen before will be racing schools respectively driving schools. Those will be necessary for the player not only to learn to drive all the vehicle classes in the game but also mastering a license will open up the vehicles from the corresponding vehicle class for the player at the various dealers and also give him access to new missions, races and tournaments which were previously closed. TDU2: An early look at a Racing School TDU2: An early look at the Car Dealers TDU2: An early look at a Checkpoint Race Ohh and before I forget it the team from Pink Whale's CAR WASH service is more then happy to serve their customers this time around. That's it. Hope you all enjoyed that little teasing, now it's up to eden to finally finish it. An official unveiling of the game at this years E3 is possible but not fixed at the moment so fingers crossed for the best. Over and out! Cheers B!! Webmasters/Community Leaders/You, Yes You! Feel free to post this info on your site/blog/forum/social network etc but please make sure to credit the sources; ie Source: TDU Central via BADNED for Updates #1, #2 and #3. And Source: TDU Central for Update #4. :D Thanks
  12. Cobra Nissan GT-R gallery: 6 photos >> The COBRA N+ Tuning Concept for the New Nissan GT-R Rarely has a new car attracted this much attention a full year before its official market launch. The Nissan GT-R reaches for the stars on the wings of a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine with 485 hp / 356.9 kW and permanent four-wheel drive. The development of an extensive tuning program at COBRA N+, the division of Cobra Technology & Lifestyle that exclusively deals with the customization and tuning of Nissan automobiles, is running at full steam. Power can only be substituted with more power. The COBRA N+ engineers are already hard at work developing engine tuning for the turbocharged engine. The first tuning stage is projected to deliver 550 hp / 404.8 kW, with an increase in torque to 680 Nm. To achieve this goal the engine electronics are reprogrammed, boost pressure is increased by 0.15 bar and the air intake is modified with sport air filters. Also under development is a free-flow COBRA N+ stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts. Thus powered the Nissan GT-R from COBRA N+ will sprint to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of some 320 km/h. Plans exist for a COBRA N+ RACE PERFORMANCE engine version with 620 hp / 456.3 kW and a peak torque of approximately 800 Nm. COBRA N+ also adds further sporty character to suspension, wheels and brakes of the new top-of-the-line model from the Japanese carmaker. Three-piece, extremely lightweight 21-inch COBRA N+ light-alloy wheels are slated to fill out the space beneath the wheel arches perfectly. They’ll also create the necessary space for COBRA N+ eight-piston brake calipers and 405-mm brake discs on the front axle. A COBRA N+ coil-over suspension gives the sports car even better handling. It features a multitude of selectable settings for ride height and damper rates. The COBRA N+ tuning concept for the GT-R also includes a sporty designer suit. The front of the two-door car receives added character with a new COBRA N+ front apron with large air dams. The aerodynamic-enhancement part also reduces lift on the front axle and improves cooling-air supply of radiators and front brakes. COBRA N+ rocker panels ensure optimal air flow between front and rear wheel arches. The rear is upgraded with a new COBRA N+ rear apron with integrated diffuser, and a larger COBRA N+ rear airfoil. The COBRA N+ Speed and Stripes decal kit accentuates the striking lines of the sportscar. For customizing the interior COBRA N+ offers two different options. Nissan GT-R owners can choose from a luxurious COBRA N+ interior with specially sewn upholstery for seats and doors, made from a high-quality combination of leather and Alcantara, and a COBRA N+ racing cockpit with ultra-light carbon-fiber racing seats, six-point seatbelts and roll cage.
