  1. Forza 7 January Car Pack The first Forza Motorsport 7 Car Pack for 2018 has been a closely-guarded secret (for some reason) but thanks to eagle-eyed observers we look to now know what it will have. Following on from the official announcement of the two free Hyundai from yesterday, the next car pack for FM7, apparently called the ‘Totino’s Car Pack’, follows the usual flavour of including seven cars and this latest batch is another that are ‘new to Forza’. Whether that is exciting or not for you will depend on how you react to the cars themselves. Speaking of which, that info is now showing on the Microsoft Store, and taking pride of place in its main image is the Lotus Elise GT1. Now if memory serves me correctly, this was in the early Gran Turismo games (sorry to bring GT up) and is an exceptional handling car, however it still requires to be treated with care and respect when driven to the limit. [gallery link=file" size="small-post-image" columns="2" ids="7634,7635,7636,7637] From the list below you can see that there is yet again a mixture on offer, with close to half of the pack being taken up by late-60s era models from Nissan, VW and Subaru, along with a novelty throw in of the iconic Citroen 2CV. The latter of which just might surprise you with how fun it is stock, or alternatively go all out and see how ludicrous you can make it through performance tuning. Forza Motorsport 7: 'Totino's Car Pack' 2017 BMW #24 BMW Team RLL M6 GTLM 1997 Lotus Elise GT1 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau 1970 Citroen 2CV 1968 Subaru 360 1967 Volkswagen Type 3 1600 L 1967 Nissan R380 II When you look at the contents, it might not seem too special, maybe even a bit disappointing, but that R380 is no snail, the Porsche (964) can help you become a Bad Boy (or Girl), and the BMW M6 will tickle anyone who enjoys their GT racing. [caption id=attachment_7633" align="aligncenter" width="800] UNLEASH THE BEAST!![/caption] Hopefully it shouldn't be too long before the switch is flicked and the official announcement and media is unleashed! It's OUT NOW! The Forza Motorsport 7 ‘Totino’s Car Pack’ will be available for Xbox One and PC as an included part of the ‘Car Season Pass’ or as a standalone purchase from the relevant stores. UPDATE #1: 16/1/18 16:23 PM GMT - Official trailer and images added
  2. Turn 10 Apologise For Forza 7 VIP Nonsense It hasn’t even been a week since Forza Motorsport 7 Ultimate Edition owners got their early access to the game they had eagerly been waiting for, only to discover that VIP had some changes to it compared to previous releases, and although loyal, they are not stupid, letting their disappointment and frustration be known. So much so, that Turn 10 have heard them, responded and are promising changes. In a letter posted on the official site from Studio Head, Alan Hartman titled ‘A Letter to the Forza Communty’, Hartman tells that they have heard “loud and clear” from Ultimate owners and have immediately updated the VIP description shown in the Windows Store to alleviate any further confusion. (sorry you’re too stupid to read what we meant folks??) Since Forza Motorsport 7 launched into early access last week, everyone here at Turn 10 has been keeping a close eye on our players’ feedback. The most important thing to us is to maintain open communication with the Forza Community. We’ve heard what you have had to say and, starting today, you can expect some significant changes. I demand to be treated like a VIP! Don’t worry that’s not it. As from today VIPs will start to be treated like the ‘upstanding spenders of more money’ that they are and will receive more value for their membership, beginning with the gifting of FOUR extra 'Forza Edition' cars. Going forward, we will continue to ensure that Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs receive the most value for their VIP membership, including new experiences and great content. Starting today we’re sending all Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs four additional Forza Edition cars: 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 Forza Edition 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Forza Edition 2017 Acura NSX Forza Edition 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S Forza Edition All of these cars are 'Tier 5 Legendary' and come with their own perks. On top of this, a cool 1 million credits will be deposited into their accounts too. Bringing back and keeping the 2x credit bonus A main criticism of the changes was the consumable nature of the 2x bonus given to credits that was implemented. What this means is that the 2x multiplier could be used up after a set amount of races was completed, and in these days of targeting directly to the ‘whales’ (those who spend real money to progress/buy shiny things) this was seen as a slap in the face to those who paid for the top version, expecting at least the same perks of those that were provided before. Well that is being made good too, and will revert to the permanent classic 2x credit bonus system with a future update that is currently being worked on. Who knew that if you tried to fleece your loyal fans that it could come back to bite you? Oh wait, Turn 10 did! As the same thing kind of happened with Forza 5 back on the original launch with the Xbox One. Players told them then that misinformation and having the game gently nudge them towards microtransactions was not good and so the lesson learned back then, has been erm… learned again? Ahem, what about PC? Amazingly the PC has lots of reports of suffering the same issues that happened on the release of Forza Horizon 3. Over time they have managed to deal with a lot of those issues and the game is being enjoyed immensely by many on PC, so how on earth did Forza 7 manage to have a botched start and not the fairly smooth experience that the Playground Games title now has? Sadly, it's become all too common for this too happen and naturally Turn 10 are investigating and addressing the issues that get reported. That said, we are aware of stability and performance issues that some PC players are facing. The team is working around the clock to report, investigate, and resolve these issues as quickly as possible. In fact, our first update for the game went live yesterday, addressing several PC stability and performance issues. The quality of the PC experience will continue to be a top priority. So for now it’s just wait and see. At least they're working on it, it just means that if you are having issues then you either wait and see if your problem receives a fix, or return to sender. Nobody denies that making a game is difficult, but the same thing should not be happening that did before, especially after those issues had been (mainly) resolved. 3. The Fate of the Furious Is Coming To Forza 7 Turn 10 have announced that Forza Motorsport 7 will receive a ‘The Fate of the Furious Car Pack’ at launch and that it will be free to the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of the game, or available standalone for a price. Created in collaboration with Universal Brand Development, the pack features ten cars all authentically reproduced from those found in the latest of the action-packed blockbuster series. Reaction to the pack has been mixed, with some scratching their heads and questioning whether the ‘Motorsport’ branch of Forza is fitting for a pack like this, especially as the 'Day One' pack that is given as one of the bonuses for those who have bought the more expensive versions - feeling that it’s more suited to the Horizon games than it’s track based brethren. Forza Motorsport 7 - ‘The Fate of the Furious' Car Pack 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline Special The Fate of the Furious Edition 1966 Chevrolet Corvette The Fate of the Furious Edition 1968 Dodge Charger The Fate of the Furious Edition 1971 Plymouth GTX The Fate of the Furious Edition 2013 Subaru BRZ The Fate of the Furious Edition 2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter The Fate of the Furious Edition 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe The Fate of the Furious Edition 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT S The Fate of the Furious Edition 2016 Subaru WRX STI The Fate of the Furious Edition 2018 Dodge Demon The Fate of the Furious Edition Amid the mad machinery in the pack is Dom’s all-wheel-drive (!) Dodge Charger in all its battle armoured glory, a gorgeous Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe, a slightly heavily worse for wear Chevrolet Fleetline Special, and several more. 4. Forza Motorsport 7 Demo Out Now! The Forza Motorsport 7 demo is out now for download on Xbox One and PC, giving players a real taste of what they can expect from the next in the amazing Forza Motorsport series before it officially launches in a little under two weeks. While waiting for it to download you might like this glimpse at the demo’s content courtesy of the official Hoonigan YouTube channel. A bunch of them got together and challenged each other to a hot lap contest and through this we get a good view of the racing experiences that can be had in it. It also gives players of the demo something to aim for as all the times are posted. And with players being able to take a heavy but extremely speedy racing truck round Mugello, pilot the cover car Porsche 911 GT2 RS through one of the new Dubai environment tracks, or hang on to a Nissan GT-R at a soaking wet storm hit Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit, there should be enough here to tide them over until they get their hands it on for themselves. In addition to this Turn 10 have set loose the official Launch Trailer and posted a new batch of screenshots. Right enough of that, go download the demo for Xbox One or PC now. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="small-post-image" ids="7325,7324,7319,7322,7323,7326,7321,7320] [via Forzamotorsport.net] 2017-09-19 21:01 GMT: Updated screenshots with high-resolution versions
  5. Forza Motorsport 7 Demo Announced Turn 10 have announced that Forza Motorsport 7 has gone gold, and that a demo will be available for Xbox One and PC on September 19th. We are also treated to a look at the official commercial for the next in the highly-popular racing series. ‘Musical Cars’ is a fun advert which takes on the typical musical chairs theme but you guessed it, replaces them with cars. Watching a group of people, including professional driver Ken Block, nonchalantly walk around a collection featuring his own “Hoonicorn” Mustang, a Pagani Huayra, Plymouth Barracuda and more, the music inevitably stops and the race is on to not be left without a driver's seat. https://youtu.be/_PKL3323wkQ Those who weren’t too slow, get into their cars and delight our ears to a delicious symphony of engine start ups and exhaust notes. A really nice top down shot shows each one speeding away and heading out on to the track... except for the Plymouth, which just wants to burn rubber it seems. A brief bit of on-track action follows, and then it switches from the inside of the real car, to the in-game version. As I said it's a fun watch, with an aim to show the fun that all types of player can experience. Make sure you watch the whole thing as there is a nice little finisher at the very end that raises a smile. Forza Motorsport 7 Demo The official demo for Forza Motorsport 7 is coming for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. The demo features three unique racing experiences in Forza Motorsport 7, showcasing the depth and breadth of the experiences available in the game. Drive the Forza Motorsport 7 cover car – the Porsche 911 GT2 RS – to the brand-new Dubai circuit and experience the thrill of navigating the Jebel Hafeet Pass, one of the most famous driving roads in the world. Or, pilot the massive Mercedes-Benz Tankpool racing truck to victory at the high-speed Mugello circuit in Italy. For drivers who want the ultimate test, the Nissan NISMO GT-R LM is available for a race at the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. Forza Motorsport 7 is out October 3rd for Xbox One and PC. (Ultimate Edition owners get earlier access on September 29th) [via Forzamotorsport.net]
  6. No Toyota Production Cars In Forza 7! There will be no Toyota production cars in Forza Motorsport 7! As unbelievable as that sounds it has been officially confirmed by Turn 10 community manager, Brian Ekberg, in the latest ‘Week in Review’ posted on the official website. Everyday and fan favourites such as the Supra, AE86, Celica, classic 2000 GT and more that have appeared in previous games, will not be in Forza 7. Toyota badged cars are not completely gone however, there will still be the race cars, along with the Hilux Arctic Truck that former Top Gear duo Clarkson and May got to play with in Iceland. Unfortunately it isn’t always possible to align the interests of fans and the interests of our manufacturing partners. As a result, production Toyota vehicles are not represented in Forza 7. We’re as disappointed as you are about this news and, while we hope to bring Toyota production vehicles back to Forza games in the future, it is worth noting that a small number of Toyota race cars will be included in the game. Look for that list in a future edition of the Forza Garage. The above seems to indicate that Toyota and Turn 10 couldn’t come to an agreement, in what way, we can only guess, as the Japanese maker’s cars have featured in past games, where they’ve been able to be kitted out, customised and painted in the livery editor. Whatever the reason, let’s just hope it’s not because of another company grabbing them in some sort of exclusive licensing. (please let’s not see any of that again!) 7. Forza Motorsport 7 Announced Racing fans of all over were in high spirits while watching the Xbox E3 conference, as during the show the first showing and details of Forza Motorsport 7 were revealed. When you are one of the biggest names in the racing game scene it doesn’t take much to get people excited about a new one, however Forza games have always not taken this for granted and generally strive to eclipse what they delivered previous. And who better to talk about it than Turn 10 studio boss Dan Greenawalt. Up on the stage he delved into the many details about the game before presenting the first ever look at Porsche’s brand new 911 GT2 RS, which itself will be the cover car for the game. Personally I think this moment was wasted on the audience as many of them didn’t seem to realise what was actually happening. In the way that Gran Turismo is a showpiece for PlayStation, Forza Motorsport has become one for Xbox, and with the newly announced Xbox One X FM7 is going in all exhausts blazing to demonstrate what it's capable of: running at a native 4K resolution at the trademark 60fps the games are known for and displaying an image quality and clarity that has only been seen on higher-end PCs compared to console. Setting out to be the largest Forza ever, FM7 will have over 700 cars including as said by Greenawalt, “the largest collection of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches”. That claim isn’t only about the car list either, there will be 30 environments consisting of over 200 track configurations, made up of real world circuits, locations and fictional creations from Turn 10. This is great to hear as FM games can tend to lack in the number of circuits available department, and some of this number will be made up of former entries to the series, with Mugello being one of the first of these to be spotted from the video (1m27s). Another desire of fans has been answered too, with the featuring of dynamic time-of-day and weather conditions. Customisation is always a favourite in any Forza game and FM7 has now expanded this to include… your driver. Players can personalise their male or female character’s appearance through a wide range of racing gear that spans multiple decades and areas of popular culture. During the show a pair of female racing drivers played through their own races, the first on one of the brand new Dubai layouts in a Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and the other racing a Nissan GT-R racecar around a wet and stormy Nurburgring. Set to launch from October 3rd for the Xbox One family and Windows 10, FM7 is exhibiting that it could be the game many players have been waiting for!
  8. Forza Horizon 3 PC Improvements We were told back in April that an important update for Forza Horizon 3 on the PC was coming at the same time as the new Hot Wheels expansion, and to the relief of some on PC that promise was kept. These improvements are available to all on PC through the free automatic title update/patch that comes alongside the expansion and delivers “critical improvements” in CPU performance/thread affinity, adds more graphical options, and expands wheel support. We have observed that a large portion of players are CPU limited when trying to run Forza Horizon 3 at high frame rates, including locked 60 FPS and unlocked. By analyzing telemetry, we have developed targeted optimizations for this group of affected players by increasing the number of concurrent threads used by the render architecture. It gets quite technical in some of the explanations and I recommend reading the source for the full breakdown, but the core of it all is to improve the experience for those on PC who have not been having a fun time of it, or to increase the performance of those who are able to play but know/feel they should be getting more. We have updated our threading affinity model to make better use of all available cores. Along with this change, we have added a new graphics option to disable the new model, should you prefer. The Minimum Specification has also been lowered and a new ‘Very Low’ preset is available for those with systems that are therefore capable of running the game even if not at super sleek graphics levels. Extra graphics options with ‘Very Low’ settings are also added to help get those extra few frames out where possible. Forza Horizon 3 - New Minimum Specification CPU: i3-4170 @ 3.7Ghz GPU: NVIDIA GT 740 | AMD R7 250x VRAM: 2GB GDDR5 RAM: 8GB Hard Drive Type: HDD Resolution: 1280 x 720 Increased wheel support is also provided through this update, with all of the following now being able to be used to pilot (and crash) your vehicles in the game. Forza Horizon 3 – Expanded Wheel Support Logitech Driving Force GT Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel Logitech G920 Logitech G29 Logitech G25 Logitech G27 Fanatec ClubSport Wheel Base V1 Fanatec CSV2 Fanatec CSR Thrustmaster TS-PC Thrustmaster T150 Thrustmaster T500 RS Thrustmaster TMX V1 Thrustmaster TMX V2 Thrustmaster T300RS Thrustmaster TX 458 Edition Thrustmaster TX 599 Edition Thrustmaster TX Leather Edition Thrustmaster TX F1 Edition Thrustmaster TX GTE Edition Thrustmaster RGT Hopefully this does help a large number of you who have been unable to enjoy your games, and if it does, and you want to tell someone or show off your photo mode images, then we’d love to have you (and your teeth) join us on our community forum. 9. Porsche Expansion Pack Price CRASH The Forza series continues to deal out the feel goods when it comes to Porsche, as for a very limited time only, the Forza Motorsport 6 Porsche Expansion gets a monstrous price cut! Reduced by a massive 75% for Xbox Live Gold members, the pack can be had for very little money ($5/£4/€5) and contains over 20 Porsche models, a new campaign, new multiplayer events and a new track – Virginia International Raceway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUvIzRiMnf0 The cream of the crop of the iconic brand are in, both racing and road-going. So no matter what generation you may be of, there will be a Porsche for you, and because of the genre defining sound expertise that Turn 10 have in their team, these cars can all be fully enjoyed, not just in looks, but in sound too. Therefore, if you held off from buying before but still enjoy a stint on Forza 6 now and again, then here is the perfect time to grab yourself this expansion and enjoy it even more! Forza Motorsport 6: Porsche Expansion Pack – Vehicles 1955 Porsche 550A Spyder 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster 1960 Porsche 718 RS 60 1970 Porsche 914/6 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 1987 Porsche #17 Racing Porsche AG 962c 1987 Porsche 959 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo 1998 Porsche #26 Porsche AG 911 GT1 98 2003 Porsche Carrera GT 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 2008 Porsche #7 Penske Racing RS Spyder Evo 2011 Porsche #45 Flying Lizard 911 GT3 RSR 2012 Porsche 911 GT2 RS 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997) 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder 2015 Porsche #19 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo Be quick mind, as this is only for a VERY LIMITED time!
  10. Forza Horizon 3 Porsche Pack The good news continues to spread out across the racing sphere in regards to Porsche availability, as it has just been announced that Porsche and Turn 10 have struck an “in-depth six-year partnership” together... and it kicks off immediately with the release of the ‘Porsche Car Pack’ for Forza Horizon 3. From the catalogue of Porsche comes seven models, ranging from the classic to the modern. Fans of the marque should be more than happy with what is on offer too, with standouts such as the 911 (993) GT2 and 1973 911 Carrera RS being my personal picks of the list. FH3: Porsche Car Pack 1955 Porsche 550A Spyder 1960 Porsche 718 RS 60 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo With the epic selection that Assetto Corsa brought to their game, we hope that Turn 10 take some inspiration from that and look to bring some of the models that are not so well known to their current release and future iterations. I also reaaaallly hope that the days of exclusive Porsche – or any premier marque for that matter – licensing is dead and buried, and is something we will no longer have to put up with. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="small-post-image" ids="6744,6745,6746,6751,6747,6748,6749,6752,6750] Porsche #Forzathon Perhaps this is a requirement of acquiring the Porsche license now, as it is not often you see a Forza game give something as good as a Porsche away for free, but that’s what is going to happen in upcoming #Forzathon events in the next few weeks. 11. Forza Horizon GT3 A partnership has been formed between Microsoft and the Change Racing team who will be running a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the GTD Class in this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona race. The Racing Bull will be wearing a special livery created by Turn 10’s very own Ayo Jube and sees plenty of Xbox and Forza Motorsport branding covering the vehicle, along with its typical sponsors. As a part of this partnership, Forza Horizon 3 will see the car become available as a download (and be included in Forza Motorsport 7?). How this will be done, we are uncertain, however it will either be given free, included in a premium car pack, or as is most likely, be a Forzathon prize. As the result of an expanding partnership with Microsoft, Change Racing will carry branding from Forza Motorsport, the hugely popular and best-selling racing video game from Turn 10 Studios for Xbox consoles. The partnership will be supported by a range of marketing activations as well as featuring in-game content from Change Racing, including the ability for players to download the No. 16 Forza Motorsport/Orion/Monster Energy GTD car for in game play. – IMSA website The Change Racing team have even been having some fun with the whole thing, sharing some of their testing and practice sessions on their twitter. If you are eager to see how the car and team does, then be sure to catch it at the race when it takes place on January 28th – 29th. [via IMSA | Forzamotorsport]
  12. Forza Horizon 3 Gets The i8 The announcement of a BMW coming to January’s Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3 last week had many looking for clues as to what it might be. And with those that could be found, it was concluded that the most likely candidate would be the i8 hybrid sportscar. Well that was the right call, as Turn 10 put to rest and confirmed what the “most requested BMW” was, with the posting of an in-game image of a BMW i8, on their Facebook and twitter. A release date of January 3rd has been stated for the pack and the i8 will be front and centre in a new Forzathon challenge to kick off the new year.
  13. BMW: Most Wanted ‘Tease the season to be jolly, Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la’. In the latest ‘Week in Review’ posted up on the official Forza website we are being treated to a little bit of a mystery as to what is to come in the new year with January’s Car Pack. Discussing of how the brand new event in January will star a car from the first of 2017’s DLC, Brian Ekberg mentions that the vehicle in question is in fact “the most requested BMW in Forza history”. Leaving us to scratch our heads and ponder of just what this ‘WE WANT THIS SOO BAD!!’ Ultimate Driving Machine could be. When we take a look at the BMW history in Forza it is actually more effective to look at what has been included and start scoring out those that are the iconic and the best in most people’s eyes. And with everything from the tiny 'Bubble Car' to the M1 and many generations of M3 and M5 being featured, the list is a lot shorter than you might expect. So what hasn’t then? Well perhaps we should be taking a look at BMW’s hybrids. These haven’t made their way in yet and fingers are pointing that this is what it will in fact be. Does this feel to ring true of the "most requested" moniker being tied to it? Hard to say but there was a poll on the official forums that had the i8 leading, but with a little of just over 40 votes it's not exactly an astronomical showing of support. Taking the hybrid thinking into real consideration though which one will it be: i3 or i8? I’d love for it to be the i3 for this event just to see the faces of people but no it will most probably be the i8. Whatever it is, (40+) people want it and so it will be received well (by at least 40 of them). Fortunately there is no need to wait too long to find out what it is, as the reveal will take place next week on Facebook. [via Forzamotorsport.net]
  14. Microtransaction 'Tokens' Come to FH3 Time to get those pitch forks out and grab a flaming torch as Forza Horizon 3 has been updated with a new ‘Tokens’ microtransaction system. In an act of pure disgust they are asking for players… no wait that’s the wrong word as players don’t need to use these at all as FH3 is generally pretty good at paying out and rewarding in-game currency, providing you play through it. So in respect, this is targeted to those who don’t play that much or who want to own everything without putting in the effort to do so (whales!) via the workings of the game, delivering an option where they can pay for an easier ride. Ah, but what about all those incessant prompts and notices that will be constantly pushed in front of your eye-balls? Yeah that could be the case, if you don’t go into the ‘Extras’ tab in the ‘Marketplace’ section of the game’s ‘Pause’ menu and toggle the option. Microtransactions are and can be a menace to gaming but the ones here are not. It would be very easy to label Playground and co as money-grubbing monsters who have made it so that the game is geared (haha pun!) towards their use, but FH3 is not this way at all. Yes you will need to play a good amount in order to achieve the higher-end vehicles but that is the way it should be, no? Getting everything handed to you is no fun, well it is in the short term but it also removes playability and longevity as there is no need to continue to achieve when it’s all available to you. However don’t get me wrong. I do understand that the grind can be too much, but at the same time I also remember how boring a game can become after everything was unlocked. It’s a hard thing to get right, but as long as it doesn’t feel that something has been priced extortionately high (GTA Online I am looking at you) or would require a literal year’s worth of normal playtime then I have no real problem with it.
  15. Blizzard Mountain Expansion The first Forza Horizon 3 expansion pack, teased earlier this month by means of no more than a glimpse at a tyre parked on a snowy surface, has been named and info about what players can expect from its purchase revealed. The 'Blizzard Mountain' expansion is coming out on December 13th and is bringing with it a first for the Forza series – snow and ice. This expansion will have players fighting blizzards and tackling huge elevations in their goal to become the King of the Mountain. Set on a snowy mountain playground with extreme alpine conditions, players will explore the new environment which contains an extreme sports snow park and a massive frozen lake within its boundaries, in eight new vehicles, including the 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX and a new brand new Barn Find to seek out. Blizzard Mountain Vehicles 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car Race events have been specially designed to be rather gnarly and enhance the chance of those playing shouting out 90s lingo such as ‘radical’ and ‘cowabunga’. (what am I on about?!) Outside of the main events there are bonus boards to destroy and beauty spots to enjoy. Along with the ability to put a new available upgrade of snow tyres onto any vehicle to confidently tackle the new road conditions. A new batch of 28 Achievements worth 500 Gamerscore will also be able to be gained through the pack, of which you can view below. (shame there isn’t one for skidding through a barrier during an event and crashing down the mountain in my opinion) Blizzard Mountain Achievements Welcome to Base Camp 10 Open the Blizzard Mountain Festival. 16. Premium Price At Its Apex PC players finally got Forza on their platform with the release of the free-to-play Forza Motorsport 6: Apex for Windows 10 back in September. Apex was the first of the highly-acclaimed Forza series’ of games to hit PC, closely followed with Forza Horizon 3 a couple of months later. Apex has been getting some updates hear and there, with the latest helping with performance issues and bringing even more wheel compatibility to the title. Apart from this it’s been fairly quiet on how the game will be expanded with new content and how. Being free-to-play it is a no brainer that real money will be involved in some way and the release of Apex Premium Edition (let’s call it APE for short) is what Microsoft have come up with. So what is so Premium about this version and why should you go APE? Well for starters, for the small price of about 25% of a normal Forza Motorsport you will receive 1 track pack and 2 car packs with 7 cars each, making for a massive 14 cars added to your virtual garage. A lot less than the amount that the standard game on the Xbox One delivers. The track pack contains none other than the legend that is the Nürburgring and has the Nordschleife, GP Circuit and the 24Hour layout which is a layout made up when the previous two are combined, making for one hell of a road roller-coaster. All layouts are available in day, night and wet making the pain of the price perhaps that bit easier to swallow. Full contents of what buyers will get for their money is shown below: Forza Motorsport 6: Apex Premium Edition Power to Weight Car Pack (7 Cars) 2016 Ford Mustang GT350R 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 2013 SRT Viper GTS 2013 Caterham Superlight R500 2013 KTM X-Bow R 2014 BAC Mono Hyper Endurance Car Pack (7 Cars) 2016 #66 Ford Racing GT LeMans 2013 #91 SRT Motorsport GTS-R Viper 2016 Nissan #1 NISMO MOTUL AUTECH GT-R 2014 Mazda #70 SpeedSource Lola B12/80 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 2012 Hennessey Venom GT 2013 Lamborghini Veneno Nürburgring Track Pack Nürburgring Nordschleife GP Circuit Full Circuit (24H Layout)
  17. Forza Horizon 3 PC Demo Is Here! They said a Forza Horizon 3 PC demo would come after release and they were right, as it has just become available on the Windows Store. Yes we repeat, the Forza Horizon 3 PC demo is OUT NOW! Already deemed to be one of the best racing games ever, the third in the Horizon series is the first to make its way onto the PC and it does so in fantastic style. With the extra horsepower available, the graphics are crisper and the frame rates are faster, as well as increased wheel support over Microsoft’s own gaming console. (yeah makes perfect sense that one??) So if you have not bought into the hype and glowing opinions from many a player and reviewer, now is the time to try it out for yourself and see what the whole fuss of a glorious recreation of an environment that takes the best parts of Australia and allows you to drive around it in hundreds of different vehicles, which you can modify and tune to make them as unique as you would like, is all about. And do not forget those amazing screens you can take too. What you waiting for? Go get it now! Forza Horizon 3 PC Demo - Windows Store
  18. Forza Horizon Alpine² It is the beginning of a brand new month and that means some new motors for the latest Forza must be due. Well it is and in fact it is available today! The ‘Alpinestars Car Pack’ brings seven new cars to Forza Horizon 3 including a most-requested drifting legend, a circuit-smashing Viper, a classic Aussie muscle and a Talbot Sunbeam for all the odd fellows and lassies that are out there. :p (it is Lotus tuned mind) Forza Horizon 3 – Alpinestars Car Pack 2017 Acura NSX 1998 Nissan Silvia K’s 1990 Mazda Savannah RX-7 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT 2016 Dodge Viper ACR 2016 BMW M4 GTS 1979 Talbot Lotus Sunbeam Out now, the DLC is available as part of the 'Forza Horizon 3 Car Pass' or as a standalone purchase. We were also given a sneak peek at what the first of the two expansion packs aims to deliver... Snow! "Theeee hillllls are alive with the sound of screaming V12!!" That’s right, winter is coming to Australia in what is actually the summer due to it being located in the southern hemisphere, but we can ignore that as the image above showing a Lamborghini Centenario caked in the white stuff is just too good to ignore. Don’t forget that you can buy a ‘Forza Horizon 3 Expansion Pass’ to get discounted access to the two expansions, or for those who bought the Ultimate Edition then you will be ecstatic to hear that a small discount is available on the pass until the end of this year. 19. Forza Horizon 3 Oct 14th Update A new update has been released for Forza Horizon 3 on PC and Xbox One that includes many stability and performance improvements for the Windows 10 version. It’s been a bit of mixed bag in terms of how well the game has run on people’s machines and for those who suffered frequent slow-downs or even crashes they will be hoping that this update remedies the issues they have faced. And if it doesn’t? Well performance and stable operation is a “top priority” for Playground Games and Turn 10 so future updates may be the ‘one’ to bring the fix. Away from the technical tweaking and bug fixing there is also the introduction of new ‘Horizon Edition’ vehicles to the level-up Tombola spins, replacing the previous versions that were available. These tuned and modified versions are quite rare and offer players a chance at some easier progression due to the boost to XP, credits or skills that they come with. Other areas have been attended to also: being we are massive fans of the photo mode shots that our members share on our forums and in the Gallery, it is awesome to see that a fix from all of those mentioned below includes one for the blurry image issue that some on PC have experienced. Forza Horizon 3: October 14th Update Stability Fixed an issue where having a microphone enabled in the game but no speech pack installed would cause the title to crash on Windows 10 Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some Windows 10 players when entering Maroondah Road Bucket List event Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some Windows 10 and Xbox One players when joining online Bucket List Blueprint challenges with mismatched DLC Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some Xbox One players when pausing the game Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some players when collecting Loyalty Rewards while in a Convoy Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some players when using the AMD R9 Fury X graphics card on Windows 10 Fixed a TDR for Windows 10 players Performance Players running four-core setups on Windows 10 should see CPU improvements Improved thread layout changes for eight-core setups on Windows 10, resulting in improved performance Improvement to performance in upgrades and tuning screens on Windows 10 Fixed a stall when driving in Byron Bay on Windows 10 Stall fixed when applying Drivatar liveries while driving on Windows 10 Stall fixed when driving in free roam on Xbox One Wheel Support Improvements to force feedback dead zone and FFB performance when driving on tarmac on both Xbox One and Windows 10 Fixed a bug so that wheel button prompts now match the in-game bindings on Windows 10 Actions that must be mapped are now identified in the UI and number of actions that must be mapped has been reduced on Windows 10 General Improvements Fix for photo mode being blurry for some Windows 10 players Groove music playback improvements on Xbox One Upgrade basket UI now supports mouse input for Windows 10 Fix for bug that prevented Windows 10 players from progressing past the Start screen with no internet connection Added Master Volume option for Windows 10 players Fix to Advanced Camera functionality in left and top views in Paintshop (Xbox One and Windows) Fix to enable Rewind when returning from Co-Op to Solo (Xbox One and Windows) Added option to mute microphones in-game (Xbox One and Windows) Player can now continue driving when fuel runs out (Xbox One and Windows) Gameplay Changes Horizon Edition cars that boost either Skills or XP no longer provide a benefit in Online Adventure Fixed an issue where the Perk “The XP Bump” worked in Online Adventure. 20. OZ ABOUT THAT THEN! It looks like Playground Games and Turn 10 are onto an absolute winner with Forza Horizon 3 as when the reviews came flooding in they were mainly all glowing. Running at a MIGHTY 90 in the superior Opencritic scoring and currently sitting with a 91 at Metacritic, the game looks to have done everything the previous instalments did so well and expanded on those areas the fans wanted seen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD1ccSM9qiA Bigger environment is a check, wide-body kits is a check, better campaign progression is a check and the main one of all – having a Reliant 3-wheeler in the game gets the biggest tick of them all! Throw in the supremely creative 'Drone' mode and you got a studio that not only looks at what their players want, but has a look around at the world and considers what they might ask for next. Early media from those lucky enough to have gotten their hands on the game is looking incredible and the impressions, well they cannot help but rave about it. As a racing game mental case, I have always seen the Forza games as the Xbox system seller, and now for the first time for the 'Horizon' series, the game will also be available for those PC fellows and lassies by way of Windows 10. Not only that, buy the ‘Play Anywhere’ Digital Edition and the game will be available on both platforms for the one price. Going that route however will mean losing out on a physical plastic case so that might be a problem for the hoarders or those who emphatically like to fill shelves. Looking like one of the best racers ever those with pre-orders are set for a fun (clean) time and those sitting on the fence have probably had their doubts taken away with the landslide of review media now out there. The only ones who really have a tough choice to face are those who want the game but either don't have an Xbox One, or will need to upgrade their system in order to play it. Now that's a doozy! Forza Horizon 3 - Review round-up The following reviews are for the Xbox One version Opencritic | Metacritic evo - No score just a damn fine write-up from the car people. GamesRadar - 4/5 Eurogamer - No score, just an informative read USgamer - 5/5 Destructoid - 9/10 Videogamer - No score (waiting for online play before scoring) TechRadar - Play It Now! Trusted Reviews - 5/5 Expert Reviews - 5/5 Of course there are your usual outlets such as IGN, GameSpot and others but the above are ones I personally look to more than those. Hell the evo one alone would be enough to sell us on the game! A little addition from myself: It's not hard to see that we are big Test Drive Unlimited fans here at turboduck and it seems kind of fitting that the game which released in 2006 and received a lot of adoration from fans of the driving and racing genre for what it offered is, 10 years later, about to see a title do the same thing and on those exact same platforms too. Seems nuts it took this long but it just goes to show how ahead of its time the original TDU really was. Some got close, but they fell short in some ways but Horizon 3 looks set to do it. Just hope the next one to carry it on isn't until 2026!! Excited for Forza Horizon 3? Got your pre-load already under way and just waiting for the day you can start playing? Looking for a place that enjoys their driving and racing games and enjoys sharing their media and opinions about them? Well come on in and join us on the forums and enjoy the warm laid-back and slightly insane community that we are known for, here at turboduck.
  21. Forza PC Wheel Support Big news for the Forza PC contingent as Forza Motorsport 6: Apex on Windows 10 leaves Beta and enters full release and brings with it, WHEEL SUPPORT!! And this same support will also be forthcoming to the give me it directly into my veins Forza Horizon 3. Available now, the near 100MB update will enable support in Apex for the following wheels: Logitech G27 Racing Wheel Logitech G25 Racing Wheel Logitech G29 Racing Wheel Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel Thrustmaster T300RS Thrustmaster T500 RS Gaming Wheel Logitech G920 Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster T150 Thrustmaster TX Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster TMX Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback Racing Wheel How good is that?! The Logitech G25 and G27 have a long history of being exceptional wheels for PC racing enthusiasts and to see it being supported really will put a smile on a lot of faces. So go grab a duster and some polish and clean that bad boy down! The wheel... of course... not... anyway! The support doesn’t just end at the wheel and pedals either, no, Turn 10 have done the support right and also enabled H-pattern shifters for the Logitech models listed above, except for the G29 which will get to join the manual shift party at a later date. (no date has been mentioned as to when this will be) The absence of Fanatec is not for long either as products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the CSR models will see their support coming to Apex beginning in late September. Note that there are additional wheels that we plan on bringing on board soon, notably Fanatec products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the Fanatec CSR models. Support for these Fanatec wheels will be arriving in Apex beginning in late September. - Brian Ekberg It also appears that more support for other makes and models will come in the future: We will be adding additional support for H-pattern shifters from other manufacturers in the future. - Brian Ekberg Now how about getting rid of the stupid proprietary nonsense in regards to wheel support on console Microsoft and Sony, huh? 22. Garage Week 6 is cushty! This Forza Horizon 3 Garage Week - exclusively being revealed by French website caradisiac - is the last but don't let that fool you into believing that this is where the lemons of the game have been stashed away as that's not the case at all. In fact the spotlighted cars will have you rolling in... well not style, but it certainly will have you rolling either on your side or maybe your roof as the lovable little Reliant Supervan III has been unleashed. For those of us in the British isles the image below will instantly (quiet kids) stir up an image of a famous duo from the brilliant BBC comedy ‘Only Fools and Horses’, starring Rodney and Del Boy who used the vehicle to sell their wares and conduct dodgy business from. So you can bet there will hardly be any time passed before a replica livery finds its way up with the famous New York, Paris and Peckham painted on the side. [caption id=attachment_5425" align="alignnone" width="800] Sitting on 3-wheels but for how long?[/caption] The more modern recognition by people will come from the iconic Top Gear episode where Clarkson kept tipping over one of the Supervan’s smaller brethren of the Robin. So it is of little wonder to imagine just how players will treat this on the roads and open world terrain of the virtual Australia found in the game. Although, if I had to guess, something along the lines of ‘hilarity ensues’ would be the expectation. Keeping in with the great for transporting goods theme, the other main reveal for this week is the Ford Super Deluxe Station Wagon, with ‘Deluxe’ seeming to mean being made out of wood. This mobile wardrobe on wheels is powered by a V8 chipping out 100BHP, sits on some stylish white wall tyres and comes complete with a roof rack for carrying that all important surfboard. It is going to be fun to see what can be done with and to these two unique vehicles and I really think it is great that there is a team out there who think not only about the powerful, the best and the most demanded but also the out there, the wth and the are you serious! types that hardly ever get a look in. Playground Games certainly ain’t no plonkers, they're just bonkers! Here’s the rest of this week’s roster. As per usual, Turn 10 are proud to announce their latest addition to their plethora of cars which offers a little something for everyone, so let's dive in and take a look. 2017 Nissan GT-R The latest of the now 10 year old GT-R, still with twin turbos, all-wheel-drive, and a warp drive pedal instead of an accelerator. 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT12 A limited edition of the Vantage which sports a more prominent aero-kit for improved downforce, more power than the Vantage S and 220 pounds lighter too! 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan Also featured in the Turn 10 Summer Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, this CTS-V has Cadillac's best chassis paired to the drivetrain of a Corvette Z06. That's all for the featured cars this week. 24. A Range Of Off-Roaders For Your Outback Driving Needs This week we take a look at the best vehicles to tackle the Outback with. From Buggies to 4x4s, these rugged motors are not afraid of Australia's challenging terrain. If you missed last week's Forza Garage you can find that here. 1971 Meyers Manx The original Manx buggy, designed by Bruce Meyers, features a light-weight chassis and fiberglass body with the suspension and engine from a Volkswagen Beetle. A classic go-anywhere vehicle. 2011 Penhall Cholla A destroyer of dunes. The Cholla debuted at the Baja 1000 in 2011 and won in it's class with a four hour lead. Four hours. No matter what the environment throws at the Cholla, it can't be stopped. 1979 Toyota FJ40 The FJ is famous for it's offroad capabilities despite serious competition from Land Rover and Jeep. You may remember this one from the Top Gear Bolivia Special. Of course, Hammond's car was a "convertible" and for the most part broken in various ways. At least in Forza you don't have to worry about it's reliability! So that's this week's featured cars! Below you can find all of the cars announced this week. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth 2013 Ford Focus ST 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III 2014 Ford Fiesta ST 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Race Truck 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 1986 Lancia Delta S4 2009 Lexus IS F 1957 Maserati 300 S 1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata 1967 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series 1971 Meyers Manx 2012 MINI John Cooper Works GP 1998 Nissan R390 1979 Opel Kadett C GT/E 2011 Penhall Cholla 1971 Plymouth Cuda 426 Hemi 2015 Polaris RZR XP 1000 EPS ROCKSTAR EDITION 2013 Ram Runner 1993 Renault Clio Williams 1990 Subaru Legacy RS 1996 Subaru SVX 1979 Toyota FJ40 2005 TVR Sagaris 1990 Vauxhall Lotus Carlton
