  1. Hey guys, making YET another dramatic return. This is, as of this very moment, a placeholder. I should be picking up an Xbox One and FM5 on Thursday night (AEST) (unless something goes horribly wrong with EB Games, or my pay...), and photos will follow shortly there-after. Really excited to be back and bring you all new content :)
  2. Didn't find any thread like this. But I would like to drive with TDuck members. Actually a thread for letting the crowd know when you have time to play. Anyone up with me today? I need money for a Huayra :mhmm:
  3. Damn, is it really two years since I last posted!?! Recognise some log-in names, indeed some of you are xbox friends too still. Anyways, whats happened in that time. I've painted loads, then not at all.... but then I was given the chance to start a fresh, and was gifted an Xbox One with Forza 5!! I haven't stopped since! 4. Do you have photographic skills or just snap to capture a moment? Which ever one you are post your Forza 5 Photos here for the rest to see.. I will start off with a Nissan 370z speeding along after the Follow Through on the Top Gear Circuit.
  5. I feel so nostalgic after browsing through my old FM4 photothread, shame that I lost most of the pics there but gotta move on, here are my FM5 snaps in a brand new thread, still gotta learn lots of stuff because it's been a while since I last did some Forzatography :o Here's my Miata in a cloud of dust after getting wrecked by someone's drivatar  Still doing liveries too, here's the first one I did in FM5 :) And then some Mustang Still need to sort some quality problems but in the meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed these! Next up are some Italian classics
  6. HEEELLLLLP! I was able to play last night, left my console on overnight to finish installing, was at 86% last time I checked. Wake up, xbox is off. Turn it on, getting notifications that dlc is being installed (I qued them last night). Go to play, won't launch. Nothing at all happens, doesn't try, screen doesn't go black, nothing. Remove disc and put it back in. "a 14gb update is required for forza motorsport 5". Mmmmkay, I got that the first time I put the game in yesterday. Accept, and I had a look at the management page for the game. On the left, where it did say 40.4gb internal, it now says 27.7gb. Wtf is going on. I'll mention that the install is not actually doing anything. No progress bar, it's not in the download que. I even tried going offline, this time it tells me it needs a 14gb install. Still doesn't actually do anything. Game still won't launch. Nothing is doing anything.
  7. I have an XBONE now... Images will come soon, just setting up a thread. Maybe a FM5 section wouldn't go amiss? Welcome to my Forza Motorsport 5 Photo Thread All images posted here will be my best shots from Forza Motorsport 5 Images with "^Click to Enlarge^" below the image will be the biggest images, Just click the 720x405 pixel images to bring them up biger. Comments Welcome!
  8. Just announced right now in the Microsoft E3 Conference is that the infamous Nurburging is coming as downloadable DLC to Forza Motorsport 5 for FREE later today! Including the Grand Prix, North Loop and the combined full Endurance layouts the track that just might get people scrambling for the One might just have arrived and for absolutely nothing too. :D
  9. Darin passes on questions from the ISR.tv forum to the Creative Director and Studio Lead of Forza.
  10. Falken Tires has open an contest for Forza Motorsport 5 to create a livery for the Subaru BRZ Drift Spec! The winner will have it's livery made on the real car for the 2014 season of Formula D. For those who already have the game, don't miss this one! :D http://falkentire.com/news-events/2013/11/falken-tire-invites-forza-motorsport-5-players-design-livery-team-falken-formula
  11. Forza Motorsport 5 is officially revealed at the Xbox One event today. There is no further info yet besides the announcement CGI teaser from the Xbox One event. The release will be together with the new Xbox One console coming the end of this year. More info & footage will be revealed at E3 2013 in 20 days. But for now we can only enjoy the new teaser posted below. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy_LDyfCANg E3 Off-screen Gameplay
  12. Forza Motorsport - Bathurst is Coming! Yep, Bathurst has been confirmed to be in FM5. Sweet! :D
  13. We've recently found out that Forza 5 will contain only about 250 cars, most people are complaining because they'd expect more cars since the game is now on blu-ray disc, I personally was a little disapointed to find this out but the overall selection is good enough for me, we're getting Autovista for all cars, more detail and better damage modelling. Well you can't please everybody.
  14. :bbb: This is a thread about cars in FM5. Turn 10 reveals new vehicles every Wednesday. I'll also update this list whenever I remember to update it. Most of the vehicles are of course well known models (very likely with all the mistakes and inaccuracies) that have been with us since... 1908? 15. GameSpot appear to have grabbed two exclusive videos of Forza 5's open-wheel racers with the Ariel Atom lapping round Silverstone and an Indycar racing round Indy. Captured in 60fps you can see just how smooth this game runs and sound with those fantastic sounding engine notes. 16. Turn 10 have just posted on their website that Le Mans will be returning to the Forza Motorsport series in Forza 5 in not only the seen previously La Sarthe and Old Mulsanne circuits, but also the Bugatti Circuit which is steeped very much in racing history. There is also a rather nice Audi Vidoc that you can watch below. via Forza Motorsport - Audi ViDoc

  19. The Forza Rewards system has gone live today: Forza 'Rewards' You can get rewards for all kinds of things across the 4 XBox 360 games (and the XBone later) like owning 100 cars in FM3 earning achievements. There are also rewards for buying DLC and and ingame tokens!! STUPID I logged on this morning and have claimed a unicorn in Horizon and FM4 plus a few million credits in each too. Not too bad… There is no way I'm buying DLC or tokens to earn rewards though.
  20. Alan's in the process of uploading some videos from Gamescom Graphics and sounds are looking very good. Hard to judge the physics from the first race in the Part 2 video of a P1 (not in any other game) with all assists off (the real life car is designed to have assists on), but it's probably all ok given their history and the new console's processing power. 60FPS is also a pretty big deal in racing (especially with a wheel), although we can't see that since YouTube videos are 30FPS max.
  21. Just a short while ago at the Microsoft conference at gamescom it was announced that Spa will finally after so long of asking, be coming to the Forza series via Forza Motorsport 5. Along with this it was revealed that the track has been laser scanned and so have others that have been revised for the game. A new demo will be available to play at gamescom which will contain Laguna Seca and the new physics engine also so heres looking forward to more impressions and media to come. :) ========================= As we announced last week, “Forza Motorsport 5” will be playable at gamescom this year! In addition to giving thousands of fans the chance to play the game for the first time, we also have a ton of news about “Forza Motorsport 5”, including the announcement of two tracks that will be featured in the game: the return of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and, brand new to the Forza series, Spa-Francorchamps! The addition of Spa-Francorchamps to “Forza Motorsport 5” will surely be music to Forza fans’ ears. Nestled in the Ardennes countryside of Belgium, the 4.3-mile Spa track is home to legendary corners like “La Source” and “Eau Rouge” and has been one of the most requested tracks from fans since the Forza series’ beginning. Laser-scanned and meticulously recreated at 1080p and 60fps, Spa makes its franchise debut in “Forza Motorsport 5”. We’ll have more on Spa, including screenshots of the track in the future, so stay tuned! http://compass.xboxlive.com/assets/99/51/9951b54c-a8c0-4e7c-ad08-81cf53292d42.jpg?n=FM5_Gamescom_Audi_Laguna_1.jpg[/img] Located in central California, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has become an iconic location in American racing and is home to the illustrious “Corkscrew” curve. Famous for its staggering drop in elevation, Laguna Seca is known for its busy racing calendar, including the American Le Mans Series as well as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which took place last weekend as part of the Monterey Peninsula’s annual Classic Car Week. This week, gamescom attendees will have the chance to take a lap of Laguna Seca in the playable build of Forza Motorsport 5 found at the Xbox booth. Gamescom attendees will be among the first players in the world to test drive the new physics engine that is at the heart of the “Forza Motorsport 5” gameplay experience. For “Forza Motorsport 5”, the developers at Turn 10 Studios worked closely with their partners at Calspan – the leading tire testing organization in the world – to develop a completely new and unique set of tire data, including tests and parameters that have never before been utilized in racing games. “Developing and improving the driving physics has, in many ways, become the central pursuit for the Forza Motorsport series,” said Forza Motorsport 5 creative director Dan Greenawalt. “We are always chasing that perfect simulation where we can accurately recreate the infinite variables of driving in the digital world. At the same time, that pursuit is always tempered by the limits of what we know about the science of vehicle dynamics and the properties of high performance materials. http://compass.xboxlive.com/assets/90/72/907228b8-746a-43a6-87f3-4450f8e89b97.jpg?n=FM5_Gamescom_Audi_Laguna_2.jpg[/img] “For Forza Motorsport 5, we have an incredibly powerful console at our disposal in the Xbox One. To make the most of that power, we had to collect data on tire variables that have never been isolated – to refactor our understanding of tire technology through the lens of a much more powerful console; one that could handle the increasingly complex formulae of heat, slip and weight transfer that our increased understanding demands. Thanks to the power of the Xbox One and our Calspan partnership, we are implementing truly cutting edge scientific understanding of tire physics, suspension geometry, and aerodynamics – we’re not implementing the recommendations of last year’s text books, we’re running the tests that will write the vehicle dynamics text books of the next several years.” As the link between the player, the car, tires are the crucial key to the “Forza Motorsport 5” driving experience. By using state-of-the-art Calspan data, the driving model in “Forza Motorsport 5” has been developed with the most current and realistic tire data to be found in the world. For the player, this means a new level of depth and control to be found in all the cars in the game, and a new level of immersion and challenge each time they play the game. Via forzamotorsport.net
  22. [headline]Are Forza 5's physics better than Gran Turismo 6? 'Just do the math', says Turn 10[/headline] http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc452/daniel0251/daniel0251004/forza5copy_zpse95dbd72.png Forza Motorsport 5's physics engine "wouldn't have been possible with last generation hardware", Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt has claimed, telling VideoGamer.com to "just do the math" when asked whether Forza 5's physics will be more realistic than those of upcoming PS3 racer Gran Turismo 6. "The things we're doing on the Xbox One with Forza 5 physically just wouldn't have been possible with last-generation hardware," Greenawalt told us at Gamescom earlier today. "Partially because there wasn't enough power, but more importantly the approach. We have a completely new approach to how we're doing physics and a new partnership." Greenawalt explained that Turn 10 ditched its partnership with Pirelli for Forza 5 to team up with Calspan, a science and technology research company that tested huge numbers of tyres in order to provide in-depth analytics for Forza 5’s handling. "Calspan tested for weeks, and at the end of that they gave us millions of data points, and I have to admit, it was more than I was expecting," Greenawalt continued. "I was a little bit like, 'Oh, okay...'. So I worked with them on how we would reintegrate that into our game so we could have all of these isolated variables and reconstruct them in real time. So when I say that we're doing things in this game that could not have been done last generation, I really mean it's on two axes. "One, all these variables require power. We have power. The more important one is the approach. This approach, nobody is doing this. Not on the PC. Nowhere. Because you have to be, one, questioning your assumptions, and two, you have to be jumping into the deep end with partnerships, new approaches, and honestly throwing a lot of time and energy at it. To me it's a commitment to always be wrong. That's my favourite part of my job. I'm committed to always being wrong. So that means I'm always pursuing perfection and throwing things away. That's what made our entire physics so much better this time. But does that mean Forza 5 will boast a more impressive physics simulation than Gran Turismo 6? "Just do the math. Honestly," Greenawalt replied. "I don't know what their physics engine is. I know what mine is. What I know is my approach and the amount of power we have in the box allows us to do things that we certainly couldn't have done on the 360 and we didn't do on Forza Motorsport 4. "I'm not playing their physics, but I think it's one of those things where there is physics involved in just what we're doing." via Videogamer

The "Forza Motorsport 5" Limited Edition features the all-new 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback on the cover and includes the following digital content: http://turboduck.net/img/games/forza5-limited-edition.jpg[/img] Limited Edition Car Pack– This five-car pack features new cars that are already destined for legendary status. The cars in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack include*: 2011 Audi RS3 Sportback – More than a mere grocery-getter, the RS3 Sportback marries performance with practicality. The result is a 340-horsepower grin-generator that will paste your head to the back of the seat and not crack a single egg in the process. 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish – As comfortable on the track as it is on cozy country lanes, the Aston Martin Vanquish is equal parts refined style and snarling, road-taming grit. 2013 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 – While the GT500’s aggressive lines suggest raw power and straight-line speed to spare, the sound of that big 5.8-liter V8 simply screams, “Get out of the way!” 2013 McLaren P1™ – The successor to McLaren’s legendary F1, the McLaren P1™ is an automotive highlight reel: technological innovation, gorgeous contours, and pure, unapologetic performance. Out of the 100 that were planned only 53 were built. They are nothing less than a purpose-built race car converted at the last minute for street use. 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird — Dubbed the “Yellowbird” by journalists during a test drive event, the 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird earns its name thanks to the canary-like chirping of its twin turbo blow-off valve. Just 29 of these cherished classics were built. 1991 Mazda #55 Team MAZDASPEED 787B – One of the most beloved race cars of all time, the 787B holds the distinction as being Japan’s only winner of a 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Featuring a brash green and orange livery and an unmistakable screaming Wankel rotary engine, the 787B continues to inspire more than 20 years after its debut. 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor — Say hello to your rear view mirror's worst nightmare. The Raptor is essentially a factory-built pre-runner race truck with suspension to match its under-the-hood muscle. Slide it, jump it, whatever you like — it just begs for more. 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – Even among hypercars, the Veyron Super Sport stands alone. After all, this is the car that currently holds the Guinness record for “World’s Fastest Car” at speeds approaching 270 mph. Day One Car Pack – A three-car pack featuring special liveries and custom tuned cars. See below for details on the Day One Car Pack. In addition, "Forza Motorsport 5" Limited Edition owners will receive a custom Steelbook™ case, a decal sheet featuring “Forza Motorsport 5”, “Xbox One”, and Audi window decals, and 1,250 car tokens (a $9.99 value) that will allow Limited Edition owners instant access to any car in the game. The "Forza Motorsport 5" Limited Edition will be available for an estimated retail price of $79.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers. http://turboduck.net/img/games/forza5-audi-rs7-sportback.jpg[/img] "Forza Motorsport 5" Day One Edition "Forza Motorsport 5" fans will also have the option to pre-order the "Forza Motorsport 5" Day One Edition, featuring the Day One Car Pack and special Day One commemorative packaging with artwork that matches the Xbox One Day One console design. Day One Car Pack – This three-car pack features amazing cars from Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford; each with a Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by the experts at Turn 10. The Day One Car Pack includes the following cars*: 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe – Stuffed stem to stern with modern tech, the TT RS is the first TT model to carry Audi’s famed RS badge – a distinction that’s earned on the track from the moment you step on the gas. 2013 Ford Focus ST -- Debuting with the same 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine from the much larger Ford Explorer SUV, the new Ford Focus ST packs a serious punch. 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera – Like great sculpture, the Superleggera’s chiseled form is carefully considered for maximum impact. That’s where the similarities end, however, because this work of art is best appreciated when it’s moving at top speed. The Day One edition of "Forza Motorsport 5" will be available for an estimated retail price $59.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.
