  1. Forza PC Wheel Support Big news for the Forza PC contingent as Forza Motorsport 6: Apex on Windows 10 leaves Beta and enters full release and brings with it, WHEEL SUPPORT!! And this same support will also be forthcoming to the give me it directly into my veins Forza Horizon 3. Available now, the near 100MB update will enable support in Apex for the following wheels: Logitech G27 Racing Wheel Logitech G25 Racing Wheel Logitech G29 Racing Wheel Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel Thrustmaster T300RS Thrustmaster T500 RS Gaming Wheel Logitech G920 Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster T150 Thrustmaster TX Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster TMX Xbox One Wheel Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback Racing Wheel How good is that?! The Logitech G25 and G27 have a long history of being exceptional wheels for PC racing enthusiasts and to see it being supported really will put a smile on a lot of faces. So go grab a duster and some polish and clean that bad boy down! The wheel... of course... not... anyway! The support doesn’t just end at the wheel and pedals either, no, Turn 10 have done the support right and also enabled H-pattern shifters for the Logitech models listed above, except for the G29 which will get to join the manual shift party at a later date. (no date has been mentioned as to when this will be) The absence of Fanatec is not for long either as products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the CSR models will see their support coming to Apex beginning in late September. Note that there are additional wheels that we plan on bringing on board soon, notably Fanatec products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the Fanatec CSR models. Support for these Fanatec wheels will be arriving in Apex beginning in late September. - Brian Ekberg It also appears that more support for other makes and models will come in the future: We will be adding additional support for H-pattern shifters from other manufacturers in the future. - Brian Ekberg Now how about getting rid of the stupid proprietary nonsense in regards to wheel support on console Microsoft and Sony, huh? 2. Let's Hit The Streets Last week, the focus was on off-road, so this week we take a look at some more on-road vehicles. As per usual, Turn 10 are proud to announce their latest addition to their plethora of cars which offers a little something for everyone, so let's dive in and take a look. 2017 Nissan GT-R The latest of the now 10 year old GT-R, still with twin turbos, all-wheel-drive, and a warp drive pedal instead of an accelerator. 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT12 A limited edition of the Vantage which sports a more prominent aero-kit for improved downforce, more power than the Vantage S and 220 pounds lighter too! 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan Also featured in the Turn 10 Summer Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, this CTS-V has Cadillac's best chassis paired to the drivetrain of a Corvette Z06. That's all for the featured cars this week. You can find all the week 5 cars below, and the full car list (so far) here. 2016 Abarth 695 Biposto 2002 Acura RSX Type-S 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT12 1986 Audi #2 Audi Sport quattro S1 2015 Audi TTS Coupé 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is 2013 BMW M6 Coupe 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 2014 Chevrolet Super Sport 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO 2010 Ferrari 599 GTO 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial 1969 Fiat Dino 2.4 Coupe 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R 1940 Ford De Luxe Coupe 2003 Ford Focus RS 1981 Ford Fiesta XR2 1988 Holden VL Commodore Group A SV 2005 Honda NSX-R 1993 Jaguar XJ220 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R 2017 Nissan GT-R 1968 Opel GT 2011 Subaru WRX STI 1980 Subaru BRAT GL 2016 W Motors Lykan Hypersport
  3. The years of wishing, dreaming, praying are over... it's here. Earlier this year, the rumours were rampant of a PC version of Forza. These rumours finally came to fruition when a few months ago it was announced - Forza for PC. While it's not a full game, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex does promise to give us a glimpse of the future (hopefully), just a little taster of what Forza on PC is like. Apex is not without limits though; there are a small selection of cars and tracks, there is no wheel support, no career mode, but that's okay. Why? It's free. Reviews are coming in fast, and as to be expected of a beta release, they're fairly mixed so far. Of course, you've got to be realistic. This is not a full game. It's a tech demo, in beta form. In an ideal world this would not be the case. It would be polished and perfected for final release. However it's not, so we can't complain about lack of content, or even wheel support. Is it good looking? Is it enjoyable? Does it run okay? That's really all we can ask ourselves right now. And we'll be doing just that with a full review, coming soon. Head over to the Windows Store to download now, be warned it's a hefty 18.8GB.
  4. It Almost Feels... Familiar The (likely) first leaked gameplay footage of Turn 10's upcoming free-to-play PC debut, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, has appeared on YouTube already. The game itself is due for release this spring, so we don't have a long wait ahead, but the gameplay footage at least gives us a better idea of what we're getting for all those nonexistent monies. Well, clearly this isn't radically different from the Forza we know and love on our Xbox One. The biggest change is that this isn't a full game, but rather a game demo or tech demo that shows the power of the ForzaTech™ engine running on DirectX 12 with resolutions an Xbox would melt just at the thought of. You only have 63 cars and 6 locations to test, but this is not new information. So, what have we learned? What we do see here is that you have the advanced and customisable graphics options that PC gamers have come to expect, such as the ability to change texture quality and anti-aliasing. There appears to be a fairly good variety of cars to choose from, a little something for everyone, and some of the prettier locations in Forza such as Spa and Yas Marina. The traditional 'race - earn money - buy cars' system has been replaced with a classic unlocking system. You have to accumulate X amount of medals to unlock cars, for example 42 to unlock a Veyron Super Sport, and it can be assumed that these medals are accumulated by completing events in the Showcase Tour and Spotlight Series. However what we also see is a big orange button... On that big orange button it reads "Unlock Early". I would imagine this means you either have another points system besides medals that can be used to unlock vehicles or perhaps Microsoft have created a way to generate some cash. Instead of grinding to earn those medals, you pay a small sum of money and get instantly rewarded with the car you want. Can you fault them? Well, probably. If you're anything like me, you hate paying for things that you expected to be free, but Microsoft would just be following the trend of the successful micro-transactions model that we see in the majority of Android and iOS games. Free to play, unless you're impatient. Let us know your thoughts in the forum, how do you feel about a micro-transaction based Forza? Source: forzamotorsport.net
  5. Mamma mia! Forza Turn 10! Yes, you read that right! Forza Motorsport is heading to your PC this spring! Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is going to be a slimmed down version of the hugely popular Xbox racer and it's going to be free - yes, you read that right as well - free to download on Windows 10. Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is going to show the power of the Forzatech engine, as you can run it at resolutions up to 4K using DX12 - check out some those details in the gallery below! You'll be racing against Drivatars just like on the Xbox and there is a career mode which includes something called the Showcase Tour, which should introduce the players to "fascinating cars" and "unique automotive match-ups". There's going to be a new objective and scoring system that supposedly giving the game "unending replay value". Contentwise the game seems to be a bit lacking compared to the real deal but it will still feature 63 fully detailed cars and 20 tracks, including nighttime and wet weather variants. At the end of the article, they say that FM6: Apex is going to pave the way for future Forza experiences on Windows 10. So looks like there's no turning back now - Forza is no longer an Xbox exclusive! To top it all off, here's the announcement trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8xREfr1YuA Source: Forzamotorsport.net [gallery columns=5" link="file" ids="4272,4271,4263,4264,4267,4269,4270]
  6. Forza for PC for Forza The 'Forza for PC' that many have been asking for could turn out to actually be Forza for PC if a recent rumour from Chinese website WPDang is to be believed. It is reported on Windows Central that Microsoft have plans for making Windows 10 big in gaming and part of this is using the Windows Store to be more appealing in this aspect, by being the exclusive vendor of their own first-party titles such as Forza Motorsport 6. And it was actually a bit of a surprise when it was recently revealed that Remedy's Sci-Fi shooter Quantum Break, known as an 'Only on Xbox' exclusive ever since it was first shown, would be releasing on PC the same day as the Xbox One. So the mentions of "unnamed sources" stating that Forza 6 and the unannounced - but no doubt coming - Forza Horizon 3 will be making their way to the PC is not something that's entirely easy to dismiss; you certainly won't hear many on PC complaining about it! Naturally it makes business sense, getting your products in front of and able to be bought by as many as possible is what selling is all about at its core. How though, this could affect the Xbox, Xbox Live and their future will be something to watch. Source: WPDang
