  1. Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 3 OUT NOW! It’s here, it’s actually here! The Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 3 is now available FREE to download on PC Steam, and it contains everything we hoped it would. Adding a truly incredible selection of seven new cars and the Laguna Seca race track, Bonus Pack 3 is a thank you from developers Kunos Simulazioni to their community as the game celebrates its third anniversary. Being a free pack you might expect this to be lacking in areas but if there is one thing we have seen from previous Bonus Packs for AC, it is that they like to keep the quality high in the content they offer. Bonus Pack 3 – The Cars There is some obvious Italian favouritism in here in regards to the cars that come, but that is soooooo easy to excuse when the marques included are those of Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani. Included Cars Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Lamborghini Huràcan Performante Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Maserati Alfieri Concept Maserati Quattroporte Pagani Huayra BC Bonus Pack 3 – The Track Laguna Seca, digitalized through Laser Scanning Technology, ensuring every single detail, every single bump, curb and slope to perfectly match the real counterpart. For those of you who were paying attention above, you will also have noted that a certain circuit takes up a slot in this pack, and not just any one either, but a long-awaited fan favourite: Laguna Seca. Laser-scanned in all its glory, the version found here is now the most up to date in any game available. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="small-post-image" ids="7550,7551,7552,7553,7554,7555,7556,7557,7558,7559,7560,7549] Kunos have clearly wanted to make sure that they did the track justice, and from the images released of the in development and final version, we think it's a job well done. The pack is released as a part of the 1.16 update which brings with it fixes and other minor improvements, the list of which you can view below. Assetto Corsa v1.16 Changelog - New Alfa Romeo tipo 33 Stradale - New Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - New Lamborghini Huracán Performante - New Lamborghini Sesto Elemento - New Maserati Alfieri - New Maserati Quattroporte GTS - New Pagani Huayra BC - New Laguna Seca Circuit - Corrected Porsche 908LH Fuel consumption - Corrected Pagani Huayra front splitter aero position - Added steering wheel alert on race start. - Potential workaround for launcher losing input focus after session ends; reported after Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. - Templates added for Bonus Pack cars - Various minor updates to digitial instruments in older content - Various minor graphical fixes in older content As for players on PS4 and Xbox One, you lot have to wait until early 2018 before you can get yours. How early is "early"? We wouldn't like to say but the wait will be well worth it!
  2. Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 3: Laguna Seca Preview Images We’re only days away from the Dec. 20th release date of the feature packed Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 3 arriving on PC, and any worries about Laguna Seca not being in have now been settled with this batch of teaser images. Posted by Kunos’ Licensing Product Manager, Marco Massarutto, the images also give us our first look at another of the free pack’s amazing cars, the Lamborghini Huràcan Performante, shot in a manner that shows the track-honed baby Lambo tackling aspects of the circuit that many a racing fan will recognise – including the infamous Corkscrew. [caption id=attachment_7526" align="aligncenter" width="800] Taking the perfect line through the Corkscrew[/caption] There was little chance that the track would not be in but the missing mentions of it in official texts was causing some to ponder. However, the postings from Massarutto with the images from the track also contain the '#BonusPack' and '#BonusPack3' hashtags. More Automotive Awesomeness! Over the past few days some more of the cars that will be found in the pack have been revealed in both images and video. Showcasing just how formidable the Italians are in the sports, super and hyper car domain. And even though it may not be the one you would associate everyone to be looking at, especially amongst that superb list, the gorgeous Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has its fair share of fans eager to take it out on to the virtual tarmac. Not least because its inclusion was hinted at a while ago, and so the wait has been tough to handle. Hard to believe that “Bonus Pack 3” is FREE?! When you look at that list below, it is hard to believe that this is a free bonus pack BUT that is exactly what it is! And PC players have only mere days to wait before they get all of it. Assetto Corsa: Bonus Pack 3 Contents Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Lamborghini Huràcan Performante Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Maserati Alfieri Concept Maserati Quattroporte Pagani Huayra BC Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 3 PS4 / Xbox One Release? There was a slight hope that maybe console racers would get the pack too in 2017, however it appears this won’t be the case as the latest Facebook post on the official AC Page Page states: ‘”Coming to console in 2018”. Well, you know what they say to those who wait, right? For now, all they can do is check out the images below and hope that it won't be too long before it comes to them too. 3. Just a short while ago at the Microsoft conference at gamescom it was announced that Spa will finally after so long of asking, be coming to the Forza series via Forza Motorsport 5. Along with this it was revealed that the track has been laser scanned and so have others that have been revised for the game. A new demo will be available to play at gamescom which will contain Laguna Seca and the new physics engine also so heres looking forward to more impressions and media to come. :) ========================= As we announced last week, “Forza Motorsport 5” will be playable at gamescom this year! In addition to giving thousands of fans the chance to play the game for the first time, we also have a ton of news about “Forza Motorsport 5”, including the announcement of two tracks that will be featured in the game: the return of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and, brand new to the Forza series, Spa-Francorchamps! The addition of Spa-Francorchamps to “Forza Motorsport 5” will surely be music to Forza fans’ ears. Nestled in the Ardennes countryside of Belgium, the 4.3-mile Spa track is home to legendary corners like “La Source” and “Eau Rouge” and has been one of the most requested tracks from fans since the Forza series’ beginning. Laser-scanned and meticulously recreated at 1080p and 60fps, Spa makes its franchise debut in “Forza Motorsport 5”. We’ll have more on Spa, including screenshots of the track in the future, so stay tuned! http://compass.xboxlive.com/assets/99/51/9951b54c-a8c0-4e7c-ad08-81cf53292d42.jpg?n=FM5_Gamescom_Audi_Laguna_1.jpg[/img] Located in central California, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has become an iconic location in American racing and is home to the illustrious “Corkscrew” curve. Famous for its staggering drop in elevation, Laguna Seca is known for its busy racing calendar, including the American Le Mans Series as well as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which took place last weekend as part of the Monterey Peninsula’s annual Classic Car Week. This week, gamescom attendees will have the chance to take a lap of Laguna Seca in the playable build of Forza Motorsport 5 found at the Xbox booth. Gamescom attendees will be among the first players in the world to test drive the new physics engine that is at the heart of the “Forza Motorsport 5” gameplay experience. For “Forza Motorsport 5”, the developers at Turn 10 Studios worked closely with their partners at Calspan – the leading tire testing organization in the world – to develop a completely new and unique set of tire data, including tests and parameters that have never before been utilized in racing games. “Developing and improving the driving physics has, in many ways, become the central pursuit for the Forza Motorsport series,” said Forza Motorsport 5 creative director Dan Greenawalt. “We are always chasing that perfect simulation where we can accurately recreate the infinite variables of driving in the digital world. At the same time, that pursuit is always tempered by the limits of what we know about the science of vehicle dynamics and the properties of high performance materials. http://compass.xboxlive.com/assets/90/72/907228b8-746a-43a6-87f3-4450f8e89b97.jpg?n=FM5_Gamescom_Audi_Laguna_2.jpg[/img] “For Forza Motorsport 5, we have an incredibly powerful console at our disposal in the Xbox One. To make the most of that power, we had to collect data on tire variables that have never been isolated – to refactor our understanding of tire technology through the lens of a much more powerful console; one that could handle the increasingly complex formulae of heat, slip and weight transfer that our increased understanding demands. Thanks to the power of the Xbox One and our Calspan partnership, we are implementing truly cutting edge scientific understanding of tire physics, suspension geometry, and aerodynamics – we’re not implementing the recommendations of last year’s text books, we’re running the tests that will write the vehicle dynamics text books of the next several years.” As the link between the player, the car, tires are the crucial key to the “Forza Motorsport 5” driving experience. By using state-of-the-art Calspan data, the driving model in “Forza Motorsport 5” has been developed with the most current and realistic tire data to be found in the world. For the player, this means a new level of depth and control to be found in all the cars in the game, and a new level of immersion and challenge each time they play the game. Via forzamotorsport.net
