  1. Limited Edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4 Bundle The Gran Turismo series is well-known for being a system seller for PlayStation, and so just like the special console bundles that have come before, a new Gran Turismo Sport PlayStation 4 bundle has been announced to coincide with the first foray of the Polyphony Digital series on the near 4-year-old! console when it lands from October 18th. (man they take their time!) Being more than just a nice box design with a standard system and game inside, this special edition PS4 is actually a good looking piece of kit from what we can see, with a special silver faceplate atop a black contrasting body, adorned with the obligatory GT logo. And gosh darn it, too often we see the system itself getting the special treatment alone, not this time though, as the controller also gets treated to a new paint scheme, sharing the same silver and black combination of that of the system. Available only as a standard PS4 and surprisingly not also in a PS4 Pro guise, the bundle includes a customised PS4 1TB console, controller, and a Day 1 edition of GT Sport. Oh and GT fans outwith the UK, Europe and Australia need not apply, as it’s only available in those regions, sorry. What is the premium for this? Umm well, that’s not actually known at this time. The limited edition console comes with a Day 1 edition of the game which provides access to $250,000 in-game credits, livery sticker packs, a chrome racing helmet and 60 PS4 avatars. Not having the system available in a PS4 Pro example seems a bit of a misjudgement as the title is enhanced for the system and if there is one thing that the series is known for, it’s being a graphical tour de force. Therefore, a high-end special edition would make sense, right? Those already who have their systems but really like the look of the controller will be thrilled to know that it will be available to buy separately or as a bundle with a standard copy of the game, (why not the Day 1!!! - Gah!), along with the normal PS4 bundles detailed below: Other Gran Turismo Sport PS4 Bundles That’s not all though – we have more bundles available to suit every player which all come with a standard copy of Gran Turismo Sport: Jet Black PS4 1 TB edition Jet Black PS4 500GB edition Jet Black PS4 1TB + extra Jet Black DUALSHOCK 4 edition Jet Black PS4 Pro edition Questionable decisions aside, the wait for a PS4 Gran Turismo game is almost over, and let’s just hope, it was worth it. 2. Project CARS 2 Special Editions Are Pretty Special In today’s gaming space, special editions and pre-order bonuses are fairly routine and let’s be honest, not that special at all. There are some exceptions to this but generally it’s run-of-the-mill cheap extras that are usually provided. This is not the case at all with Project CARS 2. As rather fitting for a team called Slightly Mad Studios, they and Bandai Namco (shoutout to Lee ‘Pizza and Games’ Kirton!) have revealed the various special editions that are going to be available. Showing a high degree of respect towards their fans, the lowest version of these, called the 'Limited Edition', will be the same price as the Standard copy and will include the game (O RLY?!), steelbook case, stickers!, and an exclusive ‘Japanese Cars Pack’ that comes with four models from those of Honda and Nissan. A step up from that is the ‘Collector’s Edition’. This is where the cool stuff starts to come in, as inside the very nice looking Collector’s Edition Box there is everything that the 'Limited Edition' has as well as a Season Pass Download Code that entitles holders to the non-purchaseable ‘The Motorsport Pack’, a 200 Page Art Book, some Esport Live VIP Pass that gets you preferential treatment at real-world events, and an awesome looking 1:43 scale diecast McLaren 720S, in one-off SMS-R Stealth Satin. However, for as incredible as the ‘Collector’s Edition’ is, there is one other, and it is rightly called the ‘Ultra Edition’. Limited to only 1000 copies, this is the dog’s dangly bits of special editions, as contained within its Ultra Edition Box is the game, steelbook case, stickers!, DLC, Season Pass, Esports VIP thing and the Art Book from those above. And as good as all that is, we now reach a whole other level, as on top of all that, there is an individually numbered cap and a McLaren 720S sketchbook. This details the development and design of the car itself, with never-before-seen sketches, models, clays and renders, giving readers an in-depth look at how McLaren’s new supercar came to be. Wait is that it? I hear you say. What about that sweet little model the Collector’s get? Well dear reader I have left the best to last, as there is a model in this one but it’s not a cool little 1:43 scale version, instead for your major purchase, you get a 1:12 scale version!! The majority of people have probably seen 1:18 scale models for the most part in shops and perhaps in car showrooms, and even model collectors tend to prefer this size (yep, I do) due to the price to size ratio, and so a model car this size is absolutely nuts! But it is also phenomenal too, as this thing looks soooooo good. The satin black and orange colour scheme really is striking. And so if you are not loaded enough to put in an order for the real machine, well then this could be the next best thing. It will cost a pretty penny but for a change, it does actually look like you will get a good amount of worth for your hard-earned moolah. With E3 on the way and the halfway point of the year approaching fast, a release date other than LATE 2017, should be heading our way in the very near future. Project CARS 2 is due out before the end of 2017 and will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. [via Projectcarsgame.com]
  3. 2017 Ford GT: What is Ford playing at? Let me take you back to 2002. The world was a much simpler time: Foot and Mouth disease was still the biggest talking point in British tabloids, David Beckham was still scoring goals for England, Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry were faffing around in Die Another Day and Girls Aloud went straight to #1 with Sound Of the Underground. However, of much more importance to you and I, Ford were completely dominating the UK market. The Focus was the best selling car at the time, soon to be followed by the Fiesta. Ford was producing cars for 'the people' and it was rather good at it. Ford then dropped the curtains for the 2002 Ford GT40 concept at that year's Detroit Motor Show. It won over crowd after crowd with its retro looks, striking ‘go fast’ racing stripes but understandably most attention and awe was correctly directed towards the powertrain, which was undeniably its pièce de résistance. A 5.4L American big block supercharged V8 that also came in right hand drive? British fans were soon swooning all over it. 13-14 years on we find ourselves in 2016 in a similar situation. A new Ford GT is on its way and it is getting just as much attention. The new car has the intention of moving on from where the old car left off. It aims to successfully mix some nostalgia from the designs of its ancestors with some 21st century ultramodern technology. [caption id=attachment_5177" align="aligncenter" width="800] A proper classic Ford GT40 - image credit Rex Gray[/caption] What is the problem: It all comes down to how Ford are treating customers interested in purchasing the 2017 GT. At a first glance all seems well, Ford seems to be on the ball. The 2017 GT product launch is going in exactly the right direction if you were to listen to Ford’s Product Chief Raj Nair: “There’s a loyal following to the car. We want to prioritize people who are going to care about the car, keep the car and drive the car.” That sounds great, no? At first you have to admire their intentions. Ford appears to want their pride and joy, their halo car, to go to a loving family and is putting just as much effort into the vetting process as if you were putting your beloved 5 month old Golden Labrador puppy up for adoption. But when you dig deeper, the control and regulations are simply insane. The criteria to buy a 2017 Ford GT: You must have a large social media presence: We are not all Shmee150, as much as I admire his success, a life/career in front of a camera on Youtube is not something we can all achieve and it is not something we all want to achieve. If I have the money to purchase a 2017 Ford GT, why should I share it with the world through social media? What if the car is awful? What if it is unreliable? If I have a huge social media presence and your car breaks down repeatedly, what would you have achieved Ford? You must be a loyal Ford customer: This might make more sense in the USA, where you have been able to buy fast expensive Fords for a long time and there are more sought after collectibles. But on the other side of the Atlantic, what does this mean for us? Should Ford prioritise someone who learned to drive in a 2002 Ford Fiesta over someone who owns a Ferrari 250GTO? The whole system seems bizarre and open to exploitation. There are a lot of people who are justifiably upset by this whole fiasco. You must not flip the car: With the amount of limited edition cars appreciating in price as soon as they roll off of the production like (yes, I'm looking at you Porsche), the practice of purchasing one of these sought after cars with the intention of selling them at a higher price in the not so distant future has become exponentially popular in recent years. This is frowned upon by enthusiasts as it usually results in the cars not being driven and staying in air-conditioned garages until someone offers crazy money for it. Is it a shame the car will not be driven as intended, absolutely. This is something us car fanatics disapprove of but as soon as a car company starts telling you what you can and cannot do with a vehicle you've spent high 6 figures on, then questions should be asked. It is not an illegal practice, it is not even an immoral practice. It is capitalism. Where does that leave us? The launch of the 2017 Ford GT should have been impressive, it was almost flawless. The media and fan hype surrounding the vehicle is incredible yet it all leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Judging from the online reaction to the confirmation/refusal emails sent this week I think Ford might have gone too far and inadvertently upsetting some of its most important customers and fans. This is behaviour we have come to accept from companies such as Ferrari. Ford has historically been a company producing cars for the people, should we accept such diva-esque demands? Please let me know in either the comment section below or on the Forum as to whether you agree with me. Has Ford taken it too far with the launch of the 2017 Ford GT?

They are nothing less than a purpose-built race car converted at the last minute for street use. 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird — Dubbed the “Yellowbird” by journalists during a test drive event, the 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird earns its name thanks to the canary-like chirping of its twin turbo blow-off valve. Just 29 of these cherished classics were built. 1991 Mazda #55 Team MAZDASPEED 787B – One of the most beloved race cars of all time, the 787B holds the distinction as being Japan’s only winner of a 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Featuring a brash green and orange livery and an unmistakable screaming Wankel rotary engine, the 787B continues to inspire more than 20 years after its debut. 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor — Say hello to your rear view mirror's worst nightmare. The Raptor is essentially a factory-built pre-runner race truck with suspension to match its under-the-hood muscle. Slide it, jump it, whatever you like — it just begs for more. 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – Even among hypercars, the Veyron Super Sport stands alone. After all, this is the car that currently holds the Guinness record for “World’s Fastest Car” at speeds approaching 270 mph. Day One Car Pack – A three-car pack featuring special liveries and custom tuned cars. See below for details on the Day One Car Pack. Day One Car Pack – This three-car pack features amazing cars from Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford; each with a Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by the experts at Turn 10. The Day One Car Pack includes the following cars*: 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe – Stuffed stem to stern with modern tech, the TT RS is the first TT model to carry Audi’s famed RS badge – a distinction that’s earned on the track from the moment you step on the gas. 2013 Ford Focus ST -- Debuting with the same 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine from the much larger Ford Explorer SUV, the new Ford Focus ST packs a serious punch. 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera – Like great sculpture, the Superleggera’s chiseled form is carefully considered for maximum impact. That’s where the similarities end, however, because this work of art is best appreciated when it’s moving at top speed. The Day One edition of "Forza Motorsport 5" will be available for an estimated retail price $59.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers. "Forza Motorsport 5" will be playable at this year’s Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany.
