  1. Forza Horizon 3 Loves (Hates?) Mountain Dew A new car pack is out now for Forza Horizon 3 and response to the ‘Mountain Dew’ Car Pack is tepid at best, with more players than usual calling it out as weak. The main reason for this is because back in January the developer version of the PC game was mistakenly made available, and as a result, a look at possible upcoming future content could be performed. Therefore, with players waiting for their desires to show up, it is understandable that a new pack will be criticised or result in disappointment for them. However, even if that info wasn’t already known, impressions from around point to this pack still failing to excite players. By all means that doesn’t mean every car pack has to be gold as players will put up with a crap car among the rest. But that’s just it, the rest doesn’t save it, and that’s what is making this a hard sell. Forza Horizon 3 - 'Mountain Dew' Car Pack 1951 Holden FX Sedan 1971 Chevrolet Vega GT 1973 AMC Gremlin X 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 1996 Ferrari F50 GT 2013 Dodge Dart GT 2016 Lotus 3-Eleven Maybe it will get by on just providing something else to drive and tune in the game, and who knows, perhaps it will find its admirers out there. 2. Great piece over at gamesindustry.biz that's very insightful into how Playground Games developers basically tested, tweaked and polished the nuts off the first 10 minutes of the game to make sure that it left an impression that made that player want to keep on playing. Which makes perfect sense as it's no good telling people really that it gets better if you've already lost them. Also the idea of giving a taste of what's to come could tempt the player to persevere more than starting them at the very bottom would do. Not sure how I feel about it all though, as sure I want to get the feeling that I will enjoy the game at the start but I don't want to be given an easy time of it either as I like a challenge. :hmmm: [via "]GamesIndustry.biz]
  3. Forza Horizon 3 PC Improvements We were told back in April that an important update for Forza Horizon 3 on the PC was coming at the same time as the new Hot Wheels expansion, and to the relief of some on PC that promise was kept. These improvements are available to all on PC through the free automatic title update/patch that comes alongside the expansion and delivers “critical improvements” in CPU performance/thread affinity, adds more graphical options, and expands wheel support. We have observed that a large portion of players are CPU limited when trying to run Forza Horizon 3 at high frame rates, including locked 60 FPS and unlocked. By analyzing telemetry, we have developed targeted optimizations for this group of affected players by increasing the number of concurrent threads used by the render architecture. It gets quite technical in some of the explanations and I recommend reading the source for the full breakdown, but the core of it all is to improve the experience for those on PC who have not been having a fun time of it, or to increase the performance of those who are able to play but know/feel they should be getting more. We have updated our threading affinity model to make better use of all available cores. Along with this change, we have added a new graphics option to disable the new model, should you prefer. The Minimum Specification has also been lowered and a new ‘Very Low’ preset is available for those with systems that are therefore capable of running the game even if not at super sleek graphics levels. Extra graphics options with ‘Very Low’ settings are also added to help get those extra few frames out where possible. Forza Horizon 3 - New Minimum Specification CPU: i3-4170 @ 3.7Ghz GPU: NVIDIA GT 740 | AMD R7 250x VRAM: 2GB GDDR5 RAM: 8GB Hard Drive Type: HDD Resolution: 1280 x 720 Increased wheel support is also provided through this update, with all of the following now being able to be used to pilot (and crash) your vehicles in the game. Forza Horizon 3 – Expanded Wheel Support Logitech Driving Force GT Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel Logitech G920 Logitech G29 Logitech G25 Logitech G27 Fanatec ClubSport Wheel Base V1 Fanatec CSV2 Fanatec CSR Thrustmaster TS-PC Thrustmaster T150 Thrustmaster T500 RS Thrustmaster TMX V1 Thrustmaster TMX V2 Thrustmaster T300RS Thrustmaster TX 458 Edition Thrustmaster TX 599 Edition Thrustmaster TX Leather Edition Thrustmaster TX F1 Edition Thrustmaster TX GTE Edition Thrustmaster RGT Hopefully this does help a large number of you who have been unable to enjoy your games, and if it does, and you want to tell someone or show off your photo mode images, then we’d love to have you (and your teeth) join us on our community forum. 4. Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels – Looping The Way! It’s time to get loopy Forza Horizon 3 players as the Hot Wheels expansion is now available, coming in at around a 3GB download. This, the second expansion for the game, revealed in the latter stages of April, introduces a whole new style of play and complete change of direction (quite literally!) to the typical racing formula. And because of this, it would be fair to say that there has been a bit of a mixed reaction from people towards it. However, for a number of those who were unsure, a lot of their worries were removed with the stream held at the Hot Wheels offices on Monday. As with the footage that was shown, it was easy to see just how fun this was going to be (yes I know that rhymed). Also evident, was that this was no lousy, no effort cash-in, as the tracks, their details, and the additional cars, were at the high level that is known and expected from a Forza title. Really, the workmanship that's gone into the creation of the tracks to make them look like the actual thing, is quite extraordinary. Viewable too, was the challenge and some of the chaos that awaits players: Be it falling off the edge of the track when aiming for that perfect line through a corner, completely missing the other side of, or barrel rolling long jumps, carrying too much speed and driving over the wall-edge, taking a wrong turn, or perhaps getting t-boned at a cross-section, it was all there, and it brought the realisation that this is actually Hot Wheels but, done in a semi-realistic manner. And sure, there’s speed power boosts, but hey, how else are you going to stick to 90 degree surfaces or loop-the-loop, if you’re not carrying some seriously deranged speed? Forza Horizon Hot Wheels – Car List 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T E49 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38 2010 Pagani Zonda R 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod 2016 Jeep Trailcat 2016 Zenvo STI Plus a Barn Find! Diehard interior view drivers get an extra bonus too. As a couple of the Hot Wheels cars will have them needing to tackle these layouts without being able to see what is in front of them that well, let alone the dizziness and confusion felt when going through the loops or round some insane camber. Now tell me that doesn’t sound fun! Understandably there will still be those out there who will not want the expansion or will not like that their Expansion Pass is made up of this, but seriously if you are in that latter camp. Go download the content and give it a go, or better yet if you have kids let them have a shot as that’s what’s great about this. It let’s us all, be kids. Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels is out now on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. It is available as a standalone purchase, or is included as a part of the Expansion Pass. [via Forzamotorsport.net]
  5. Forza Horizon 3 & Hot Wheels! If there is one thing we have seen games do recently, it is to embrace the insanity! With games like Trackmania Turbo being the more modern pioneers of all-out blistering paced gravity defying racing action, it was telling that this gameplay style was popular with people as others seemed to latch on to it, such as GTA Online. And now Forza is getting in on it too! The second expansion pack for Forza Horizon 3 is due to release on May 9th and sees the open-world driving and racing spectacular join up with ‘Hot Wheels’. If you aren’t already imagining what this means, then all you need to know is to picture in your head: A LOT of the colour orange, driving-on-the-wall type banking, multiple loop-the-loops, skyscraper-high tracks and destruction derby inviting cross-track sections. (or you can just watch the trailer below ) Set along six new islands located off the game’s Australian coast, each configuration is connected to one another and will have players performing extreme stunt driving as they tackle their way through an all-new campaign. Explore the world of Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels in an all-new campaign, completing events on your way towards the ultimate stunt-driving test, an epic Grand Finale taking place on the massive new Hot Wheels Goliath circuit. – Forzamotorsport.net It will be the multiplayer where this expansion is likely to shine, as players will not only be racing on those famous tracks, but also a brand-new Playground Arena in which they can go nuts in. For the competitive bunch, there is the option to use the ‘Stunt Swap’ feature to modify sections of the tracks (the stunts perhaps?) and then challenge your friends to have a go. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6809,6803,6804,6802,6801] Being that this is a Hot Wheels expansion, there is naturally additional cars inside it. And yes, some of them are Hot Wheels legends! The Twin Mill, Bone Shaker and Rip Rod all feature in stunningly recreated excellence, with the Twin Mill looking especially good. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6807,6806,6808] It’s not all weird and wonderful fictional recreations either, as there’s some normal road-going, non-road legal, off-roaders, and an unexpected arrival that you may recognise from how it helped Jeremy Clarkson and James May tackle Iceland easier than Hammond and his doggies did. Forza Horizon Hot Wheels – Car List 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T E49 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38 2010 Pagani Zonda R 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod 2016 Jeep Trailcat 2016 Zenvo STI There are 10 cars in total, including a brand-new unannounced at this time Barn Find. This is a radical departure from the typical offering you would expect but it looks to be one that is all about delivering just good clean fun. Not taking yourself too seriously is something that usually works out well but only time will tell if the playerbase likes what’s here. [gallery type=rectangular" size="small-post-image" link="file" ids="6820,6819,6818,6817,6816,6815,6814,6813,6812] Available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels will arrive on May 9th at a standalone cost of $19.99, or is available as part of the Forza Horizon 3 Expansion Pass. Forza Horizon 3 – PC Update Tucked away near the bottom of this announcement, is a mention about a new update coming to Windows 10 on the same day. This will include some “significant improvements” including but not limited to: new support for numerous popular driving wheels improved CPU performance additional graphics options More details of what else is to come in it will be revealed on May 9th. 6. BMW: Most Wanted ‘Tease the season to be jolly, Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la’. In the latest ‘Week in Review’ posted up on the official Forza website we are being treated to a little bit of a mystery as to what is to come in the new year with January’s Car Pack. Discussing of how the brand new event in January will star a car from the first of 2017’s DLC, Brian Ekberg mentions that the vehicle in question is in fact “the most requested BMW in Forza history”. Leaving us to scratch our heads and ponder of just what this ‘WE WANT THIS SOO BAD!!’ Ultimate Driving Machine could be. When we take a look at the BMW history in Forza it is actually more effective to look at what has been included and start scoring out those that are the iconic and the best in most people’s eyes. And with everything from the tiny 'Bubble Car' to the M1 and many generations of M3 and M5 being featured, the list is a lot shorter than you might expect. So what hasn’t then? Well perhaps we should be taking a look at BMW’s hybrids. These haven’t made their way in yet and fingers are pointing that this is what it will in fact be. Does this feel to ring true of the "most requested" moniker being tied to it? Hard to say but there was a poll on the official forums that had the i8 leading, but with a little of just over 40 votes it's not exactly an astronomical showing of support. Taking the hybrid thinking into real consideration though which one will it be: i3 or i8? I’d love for it to be the i3 for this event just to see the faces of people but no it will most probably be the i8. Whatever it is, (40+) people want it and so it will be received well (by at least 40 of them). Fortunately there is no need to wait too long to find out what it is, as the reveal will take place next week on Facebook. [via Forzamotorsport.net]
  7. Microtransaction 'Tokens' Come to FH3 Time to get those pitch forks out and grab a flaming torch as Forza Horizon 3 has been updated with a new ‘Tokens’ microtransaction system. In an act of pure disgust they are asking for players… no wait that’s the wrong word as players don’t need to use these at all as FH3 is generally pretty good at paying out and rewarding in-game currency, providing you play through it. So in respect, this is targeted to those who don’t play that much or who want to own everything without putting in the effort to do so (whales!) via the workings of the game, delivering an option where they can pay for an easier ride. Ah, but what about all those incessant prompts and notices that will be constantly pushed in front of your eye-balls? Yeah that could be the case, if you don’t go into the ‘Extras’ tab in the ‘Marketplace’ section of the game’s ‘Pause’ menu and toggle the option. Microtransactions are and can be a menace to gaming but the ones here are not. It would be very easy to label Playground and co as money-grubbing monsters who have made it so that the game is geared (haha pun!) towards their use, but FH3 is not this way at all. Yes you will need to play a good amount in order to achieve the higher-end vehicles but that is the way it should be, no? Getting everything handed to you is no fun, well it is in the short term but it also removes playability and longevity as there is no need to continue to achieve when it’s all available to you. However don’t get me wrong. I do understand that the grind can be too much, but at the same time I also remember how boring a game can become after everything was unlocked. It’s a hard thing to get right, but as long as it doesn’t feel that something has been priced extortionately high (GTA Online I am looking at you) or would require a literal year’s worth of normal playtime then I have no real problem with it.
  8. Blizzard Mountain Expansion Winter has well and truly arrived in Forza Horizon 3’s Australia with the release today of the ‘Blizzard Mountain’ expansion. First heard of back at the end of November the expansion is set within a snow covered, ice laden alpine environment. And in case you were wondering, yes Australia does actually get snow! The whole point of it all is that players are bidding to become the ‘King of the Mountain’, and they do this by tackling a new campaign featuring over 50 new events and challenges that they will compete in. Being on this sort of surface and the fact it’s a bloody mountain they're doing this on, the addition of new races like Descent, Hill Climb and Blizzard will provide a bit of a new challenge to seasoned players of the vanilla game who may be becoming more used to its surroundings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOB0QAVUiXc After staking their claim as the King of all below them, players can then hunt for and crash through the new bonus boards, locate the beauty spots and see how they fare against others in new Bucket List Blueprint and Rivals events as they chase after the 500 Gamerscore attainable through the 28 new achievements. Seven new vehicles along with one new Barn Find (so that makes 8!) are there to help players take the crown and are especially set up for the treacherous conditions of the mountain. Front and centre of them all is Ken Block’s Ford Focus RS RX. For the ice-rally fan who wants a bit more of the classic approach though there are two icons of rallying with the Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 and Lancia Delta S4 Group B. The full list (sans Barn Find) of those contained within the pack is shown below: Forza Horizon 3 ‘Blizzard Mountain’ - Vehicles 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car If players have a particular vehicle they cannot tear themselves away from in their inventory already then the option to stick on some snow tyres is also there and should see them spending many hours sliding about and possibly falling off from great heights. Now that's a picture we would love to see! Blizzard Mountain is available now on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. The pack can be bought standalone or as a part of the Expansion Pass. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6311,6312,6314,6310,6307,6308,6306,6309,6313]
  9. Logitech G Car Pack The new content train is well and truly on a roll right now in regards to Forza Horizon 3, what with the new ‘Blizzard Mountain’ expansion due out shortly and now this – the latest DLC car pack called the Logitech G Car Pack. December’s offering is the third monthly DLC car pack to be released for the game and is available now for Xbox One and Windows 10 players to buy, or download if they have the Car Pass. https://youtu.be/GXqlST_53M8 As has become somewhat customary with the car packs with the game this one is again chock full of some really interesting and exciting contents. The most outlandish being the Morgan 3 Wheeler, which now happily joins the Reliant in becoming another vehicle that sports a trio of rubber to help keep it pointing in the right direction. Japanese fans will be ecstatic to see the icon that is the 1992 Toyota Supra added to the roster. This car I particularly fondly remember being a real gem in winning me many a race in the first and second Gran Turismo games. Bentley’s stupidly gorgeous EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept is a luxury grand tourer that will no doubt be right at home eating up the miles as it cruises along the coastal roads and wherever else players deem to take it. And with it being a hybrid you can feel contented knowing that you are doing your bit for the game’s virtual environment or something. And then there is the aussie nutcase who springs out from nowhere: the HSV GTSR. Boasting a lot of power, a lot of questionable styling and a lot of yellah, the GTSR is a real character and belongs blasting up, down and through the roads and greeneries of FH3’s Australia. The Logitech G Car Pack is available now for those on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, or is free to those who have bought the Car Pass. [gallery type=rectangular" size="seven-post-image" link="file" ids="6259,6260,6261,6262,6263,6264]
  10. Blizzard Mountain Achievements With only a week to go until the first expansion of 'Blizzard Mountain' skids onto Forza Horizon 3 for Xbox One and PC a bundle of images and their accompanying achievements have been revealed. Found on the Xbox achievement encyclopedia that is Xbox Achievements, the posted list for the expansion gives an idea of what players can expect as they play through. However, these achievements are paired with images that depict what the task requires or a hint of how to obtain it. These in themselves are not only allowing us to see some of the action that will be available but also disclosing what the new Barn Find is. We won't spoil what that is, however if you want to know what is hidden away, be sure to check out the source link at the bottom. 'Blizzard Mountain' consists of a new alpine environment setting that will see buyers of the pack taking the seven new rides available – plus the aforementioned new Barn Find – across the more than 50 events and challenges that have to be completed in the quest to become ‘King of the Mountain’. Those wanting to live out those Ken Block fantasies will be glad to know they can make it a virtual reality, with the inclusion of Block’s latest Gymkhana Focus RS RX. New Bucket List Blueprint and Rivals events as well as a whole new batch of bonus boards to crash through and beauty spots to discover, make up the rest of what will take up players’ time while they roam around the snow and ice covered landscape. And this trekking around can be done in any of your stable of vehicles too because of the new snow tyres upgrade. Additionally, 500 Gamerscore can be attained through the 28 new Xbox Live achievements. Forza Horizon 3 ‘Blizzard Mountain’ will be available as a standalone purchase when it releases on December 13th, or is included with the Expansion Pass which gives buyers access to the two expansions (‘Blizzard Mountain’ and one other) for a discounted price. Ultimate Edition owners no longer get until the end of the year as was originally stated to buy the Pass, as that appears to have changed now to them having to buy it before the end of December 13th, 2016 in order to take advantage of the extra saving. [via XboxAchievements]
  11. Blizzard Mountain Expansion The first Forza Horizon 3 expansion pack, teased earlier this month by means of no more than a glimpse at a tyre parked on a snowy surface, has been named and info about what players can expect from its purchase revealed. The 'Blizzard Mountain' expansion is coming out on December 13th and is bringing with it a first for the Forza series – snow and ice. This expansion will have players fighting blizzards and tackling huge elevations in their goal to become the King of the Mountain. Set on a snowy mountain playground with extreme alpine conditions, players will explore the new environment which contains an extreme sports snow park and a massive frozen lake within its boundaries, in eight new vehicles, including the 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX and a new brand new Barn Find to seek out. Blizzard Mountain Vehicles 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car Race events have been specially designed to be rather gnarly and enhance the chance of those playing shouting out 90s lingo such as ‘radical’ and ‘cowabunga’. (what am I on about?!) Outside of the main events there are bonus boards to destroy and beauty spots to enjoy. Along with the ability to put a new available upgrade of snow tyres onto any vehicle to confidently tackle the new road conditions. A new batch of 28 Achievements worth 500 Gamerscore will also be able to be gained through the pack, of which you can view below. (shame there isn’t one for skidding through a barrier during an event and crashing down the mountain in my opinion) Blizzard Mountain Achievements Welcome to Base Camp 10 Open the Blizzard Mountain Festival. Just Getting STARted 10 Earn your first star at Blizzard Mountain. Triple Star Performance 10 Earn 3 Stars at a single route at Blizzard Mountain. Ding Ding 10 Reach Round 2 of King of the Mountain. There is a small discount available if players stump up for the Expansion Pass. That gets them this expansion plus one other, whereas Ultimate Edition owners can be happy knowing that they can take part in the discount love also, with a bigger discount, but only if it is bought before the end of 2016. 12. Forza Horizon 3 PC Demo Is Here! They said a Forza Horizon 3 PC demo would come after release and they were right, as it has just become available on the Windows Store. Yes we repeat, the Forza Horizon 3 PC demo is OUT NOW! Already deemed to be one of the best racing games ever, the third in the Horizon series is the first to make its way onto the PC and it does so in fantastic style. With the extra horsepower available, the graphics are crisper and the frame rates are faster, as well as increased wheel support over Microsoft’s own gaming console. (yeah makes perfect sense that one??) So if you have not bought into the hype and glowing opinions from many a player and reviewer, now is the time to try it out for yourself and see what the whole fuss of a glorious recreation of an environment that takes the best parts of Australia and allows you to drive around it in hundreds of different vehicles, which you can modify and tune to make them as unique as you would like, is all about. And do not forget those amazing screens you can take too. What you waiting for? Go get it now! Forza Horizon 3 PC Demo - Windows Store

We were also given a sneak peek at what the first of the two expansion packs aims to deliver... Snow! "Theeee hillllls are alive with the sound of screaming V12!!" That’s right, winter is coming to Australia in what is actually the summer due to it being located in the southern hemisphere, but we can ignore that as the image above showing a Lamborghini Centenario caked in the white stuff is just too good to ignore. Don’t forget that you can buy a ‘Forza Horizon 3 Expansion Pass’ to get discounted access to the two expansions, or for those who bought the Ultimate Edition then you will be ecstatic to hear that a small discount is available on the pass until the end of this year. 14. Forza Horizon 3 Oct 14th Update A new update has been released for Forza Horizon 3 on PC and Xbox One that includes many stability and performance improvements for the Windows 10 version. It’s been a bit of mixed bag in terms of how well the game has run on people’s machines and for those who suffered frequent slow-downs or even crashes they will be hoping that this update remedies the issues they have faced. And if it doesn’t? Well performance and stable operation is a “top priority” for Playground Games and Turn 10 so future updates may be the ‘one’ to bring the fix. Away from the technical tweaking and bug fixing there is also the introduction of new ‘Horizon Edition’ vehicles to the level-up Tombola spins, replacing the previous versions that were available. These tuned and modified versions are quite rare and offer players a chance at some easier progression due to the boost to XP, credits or skills that they come with. Other areas have been attended to also: being we are massive fans of the photo mode shots that our members share on our forums and in the Gallery, it is awesome to see that a fix from all of those mentioned below includes one for the blurry image issue that some on PC have experienced. 15. Police to Meet You The roads of Australia are about to get even more chaotic, exotic and perhaps even more respectful with the release of 'The Smoking Tire Car Pack' for Forza Horizon 3. Featuring what we would call a quite fantastic selection of seven new-to-Forza vehicles, this first main DLC pack for the game is going to be a popular one. Within its line up are hypercars, supercars, sportscars, a wily off-roader and even the de facto Police cruiser – complete with optional light bar and siren! https://youtu.be/64srpn7V4BU Whoever is collating these lists of cars for release and inclusion keep at it as you are SMASHING IT!! Starting with the Aston Martin ‘Vulcan’ the auto-makers entry into the continually growing hypercar market you may be expecting something with pointy ears and a logical way of working. Well it does look kind of alien-like but in fact this Vulcan is in homage to the British bomber aircraft of the same name. [caption id=attachment_5576" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] Only 24 of these track-only (boo!) vehicles will be built and if you watched the episode of Top Gear where Chris Harris drove the nuts off one, you will know that its 800 hp V12 screams ferociously. Next up is the lightweight tarmac rocket of the Lotus 340R and you just know from the pedigree of the brand that this car will eat up turns and stick to the tarmac like a super-glued frog to a bus. (huh?) If the Vulcan is out of your price range but you still want something that will blow your mind on the track then this is one of the best vehicles out there to scratch that itch. [caption id=attachment_5581" align="alignnone" width="800] 2000 Lotus 340R in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] Looking more like the legendary Zonda with every new iteration that comes, the Pagani Huayra BC is now looking like it should have done from day one (imo). It’s shape and looks have always been a bit of a love or hate thing and its sound is a far cry off from the ear-pleasing stabbing that the Zonda produced. Nonetheless the BC named after Benny Caiola (I hate Bennys because of Carlito’s Way) who was one of the first customers of Pagani and close friend of Horatio (YEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH! not that one) will see only 20 models produced. [caption id=attachment_5582" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 Pagani Huayra BC in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] With all those racing around at high-speed and with no regard for the inhabitants of the virtual lands it seems only right that some Johnny Law makes an appearance. Whether players choose to go unmarked or all out in full police branding, the choice is theirs as brilliantly Playground Games have provided an optional bumper, light bar and siren for players to live out there nofunallowed.jpg fantasies! [caption id=attachment_5578" align="alignnone" width="800] 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] GTA Spano, no it’s not the title of the next Grand Theft Auto but instead a Spanish automaker who decided to create their own supercar and with a top speed of 230mph it looks like they did a decent job. With looks that are different enough not to be called out as copying from others but with typical lines that you will find in other makes, the Spano is making quite the entrance. [caption id=attachment_5579" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 GTA Spano in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] The ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’ is the tagline of BMW and rightly so as they are brilliant drivers. Well the cars and their handling are not so much those sitting behind the wheel. Reviews for the M2 Coupe are very positive, in fact the M2 gets compared to the original E30 M3 and when you see them together you will know why. Piloting this thing through the roads, fields and in the air should be a lot of fun. [caption id=attachment_5577" align="alignnone" width="800] 2016 BMW M2 Coupé in Forza Horizon 3[/caption] With all that openness that is available it makes perfect sense to have a dedicated off-roader that can climb the steep inclines, tackle the uneven terrain and speed across the sandy beaches and the Jeep CJ5 Renegade is here to make that happen. With customisation this could turn out to be a real gem for everything you wish to do off the tarmac. [caption id=attachment_5580" align="alignnone" width="800] 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade[/caption] The Smoking Tire Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3 is available now and is included for those with the Car Pass.
  16. €xpan$$ion Pa$$ Forza Horizon 3 has not long been out and despite being the biggest game of the Horizon series it appears that Playground Games and co know that players are never shy of wanting (to pay for) more. Along with the multitude of car packs that will be coming and the expansions that frequent the series, environment size has always been an aspect that didn’t really get any attention. And it is something you won’t hear many players moan about either as long as there is plenty to do and see then extra areas are always welcome, and it looks like Horizon 3 is destined for bigger things. The 'Expansion Pass' looks to follow in the skidmarks of previous games. Whether this will mean more of the same off-map locations seen with the Rally Expansion for Horizon 1, Storm Island for Horizon 2 or perhaps even a new slice of Australia to explore that increases the size of the original map (store icon shows as a map of Australia with expanding arrows) can only be guessed at this time. Either way, as we said, more environment in open-world racers is always welcome and we look forward to see what route Forza Horizon 3 will follow. If they do go for adding an actual new area to the map, how would this work for players who do not have the pass or have purchased that DLC item? Maybe they just see cars driving through a barrier or something. Thinking along these lines you would have to imagine it will likely be more of the same... would very much like to be proven wrong though. One more thing… those of you with the ULTIMATE!!!! edition will not be getting this included in your purchase. You might however get a discount or you could wait until the 42 edition comes out or something. Unfortunately first-party Microsoft will always want you to pay a premium and more. 17. OZ ABOUT THAT THEN! It looks like Playground Games and Turn 10 are onto an absolute winner with Forza Horizon 3 as when the reviews came flooding in they were mainly all glowing. Running at a MIGHTY 90 in the superior Opencritic scoring and currently sitting with a 91 at Metacritic, the game looks to have done everything the previous instalments did so well and expanded on those areas the fans wanted seen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD1ccSM9qiA Bigger environment is a check, wide-body kits is a check, better campaign progression is a check and the main one of all – having a Reliant 3-wheeler in the game gets the biggest tick of them all! Throw in the supremely creative 'Drone' mode and you got a studio that not only looks at what their players want, but has a look around at the world and considers what they might ask for next. Early media from those lucky enough to have gotten their hands on the game is looking incredible and the impressions, well they cannot help but rave about it. As a racing game mental case, I have always seen the Forza games as the Xbox system seller, and now for the first time for the 'Horizon' series, the game will also be available for those PC fellows and lassies by way of Windows 10. Not only that, buy the ‘Play Anywhere’ Digital Edition and the game will be available on both platforms for the one price. Going that route however will mean losing out on a physical plastic case so that might be a problem for the hoarders or those who emphatically like to fill shelves. Looking like one of the best racers ever those with pre-orders are set for a fun (clean) time and those sitting on the fence have probably had their doubts taken away with the landslide of review media now out there. The only ones who really have a tough choice to face are those who want the game but either don't have an Xbox One, or will need to upgrade their system in order to play it. Now that's a doozy! Forza Horizon 3 - Review round-up The following reviews are for the Xbox One version Opencritic | Metacritic evo - No score just a damn fine write-up from the car people. GamesRadar - 4/5 Eurogamer - No score, just an informative read USgamer - 5/5 Destructoid - 9/10 Videogamer - No score (waiting for online play before scoring) TechRadar - Play It Now! Trusted Reviews - 5/5 Expert Reviews - 5/5 Of course there are your usual outlets such as IGN, GameSpot and others but the above are ones I personally look to more than those. Hell the evo one alone would be enough to sell us on the game! A little addition from myself: It's not hard to see that we are big Test Drive Unlimited fans here at turboduck and it seems kind of fitting that the game which released in 2006 and received a lot of adoration from fans of the driving and racing genre for what it offered is, 10 years later, about to see a title do the same thing and on those exact same platforms too. Seems nuts it took this long but it just goes to show how ahead of its time the original TDU really was. Some got close, but they fell short in some ways but Horizon 3 looks set to do it. Just hope the next one to carry it on isn't until 2026!! Excited for Forza Horizon 3? Got your pre-load already under way and just waiting for the day you can start playing? Looking for a place that enjoys their driving and racing games and enjoys sharing their media and opinions about them? Well come on in and join us on the forums and enjoy the warm laid-back and slightly insane community that we are known for, here at turboduck.
  18. Forza Horizon 3 Demo According to the Microsoft Store website a demo for Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One is due to drop sometime today! The listing that appears to have sneaked online in the past few days shows the release date as 12th September, 2016 at 01:00 (UK) which is if using 24 hour time, less than an hour from now. It looks to be quite a sizeable one too, coming in at more than 18GB for download. There have been sightings on POS and promotional materials that seem to mention a demo sometime this week, but it would be excellent if it was this close. The good thing is, there isn’t that long to wait and see for ourselves either way. Unfortunately however, there is no mention of a demo for PC, sorry about that. Source: Microsoft Store UPDATE:// 1 - PC Demo information Forza Horizon 3 PC Demo? Turn 10 have posted information in regards to a PC demo of Forza Horizon 3 and the good news is, one is on its way. The slightly bad news however is that it will not release until after the game's launch. They recommend players eager for a Forza PC fix to try FM6: Apex which recently exited the Beta phase and became a full version release, as what they have learned from that has helped in the development in Horizon 3 for its Windows 10 appearance. We know fans are curious about the state of a Windows 10 PC demo for Forza Horizon 3. A standalone “Forza Horizon 3” PC demo will be released sometime after launch. We invite all players who are eager to play Forza on PC to try “Forza Motorsport 6: Apex”, available now in the Windows 10 Store for free. - Brian Ekberg // ForzaMotorsport.net UPDATE:// 1 - Posted on Sep 13th @ 00:39 am GMT
  19. Garage Week 6 is cushty! This Forza Horizon 3 Garage Week - exclusively being revealed by French website caradisiac - is the last but don't let that fool you into believing that this is where the lemons of the game have been stashed away as that's not the case at all. In fact the spotlighted cars will have you rolling in... well not style, but it certainly will have you rolling either on your side or maybe your roof as the lovable little Reliant Supervan III has been unleashed. For those of us in the British isles the image below will instantly (quiet kids) stir up an image of a famous duo from the brilliant BBC comedy ‘Only Fools and Horses’, starring Rodney and Del Boy who used the vehicle to sell their wares and conduct dodgy business from. So you can bet there will hardly be any time passed before a replica livery finds its way up with the famous New York, Paris and Peckham painted on the side. [caption id=attachment_5425" align="alignnone" width="800] Sitting on 3-wheels but for how long?[/caption] The more modern recognition by people will come from the iconic Top Gear episode where Clarkson kept tipping over one of the Supervan’s smaller brethren of the Robin. So it is of little wonder to imagine just how players will treat this on the roads and open world terrain of the virtual Australia found in the game. Although, if I had to guess, something along the lines of ‘hilarity ensues’ would be the expectation. Keeping in with the great for transporting goods theme, the other main reveal for this week is the Ford Super Deluxe Station Wagon, with ‘Deluxe’ seeming to mean being made out of wood. This mobile wardrobe on wheels is powered by a V8 chipping out 100BHP, sits on some stylish white wall tyres and comes complete with a roof rack for carrying that all important surfboard. It is going to be fun to see what can be done with and to these two unique vehicles and I really think it is great that there is a team out there who think not only about the powerful, the best and the most demanded but also the out there, the wth and the are you serious! types that hardly ever get a look in. Playground Games certainly ain’t no plonkers, they're just bonkers! Here’s the rest of this week’s roster. 20. A Range Of Off-Roaders For Your Outback Driving Needs This week we take a look at the best vehicles to tackle the Outback with. From Buggies to 4x4s, these rugged motors are not afraid of Australia's challenging terrain. If you missed last week's Forza Garage you can find that here. 1971 Meyers Manx The original Manx buggy, designed by Bruce Meyers, features a light-weight chassis and fiberglass body with the suspension and engine from a Volkswagen Beetle. A classic go-anywhere vehicle. 2011 Penhall Cholla A destroyer of dunes. The Cholla debuted at the Baja 1000 in 2011 and won in it's class with a four hour lead. Four hours. No matter what the environment throws at the Cholla, it can't be stopped. 1979 Toyota FJ40 The FJ is famous for it's offroad capabilities despite serious competition from Land Rover and Jeep. You may remember this one from the Top Gear Bolivia Special. Of course, Hammond's car was a "convertible" and for the most part broken in various ways. At least in Forza you don't have to worry about it's reliability! So that's this week's featured cars! If you missed last weeks announcement, don't fear because it's just a click away. Click. This week they're sticking to the Australian theme from last week, if you ignore about 97% of the cars announced so far... You've surely seen the Holden Maloo already, it's the big green beast at the top of the page and it comes with a whopping 580bhp. Surely enough to give you... problems. 22. Forza Horizon 3: Car List Reveal Week 1 We're getting ever closer to getting our hands on the much anticipated Forza Horizon 3 in just a little over 9 weeks or 65 sleeps for those who have pre-ordered the ultimate edition. There are a fair few cars that are new to the franchise including some cars that I never thought would make it to Forza. I suppose the recent Turn 10 Select Car Pack for Forza 6 was a hint of things to come? The first round of DLC has already been announced which is something that we really don't like to see. If the content is already made then release it on the disc included with the game! Strong whiff of Activision right there. [caption id=attachment_5073" align="aligncenter" width="1120] This sure does look good fun![/caption] There's also a mention of reward tiers, something that we saw in FM6. So be sure to level up Forza Rewards to reap the benefits of the free cars! But be warned, it's no mean feat to reach tier 10. Be sure to check out the gallery at the bottom of the page for some rather tasty pictures of the cars. Blueprints, this is a way of allowing you to customise the game as you go. Ever wished the route or entry requirements were different for a race? Well, now you can modify all of the races and bucket lists to suit yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhWTpCGZwWs You had better take your largest suitcase as you will need it this time with the game boasting a whopping 350 fully customisable cars with more than 40 cars coming in the 6 months after release with the usual, monthly car packs. Forza Horizon 2 is in development for Xbox One and Xbox 360 and due for release this fall. The racer follows 2012’s critically acclaimed franchise spinoff Forza Horizon for Xbox 360 and 2013’s frontline Xbox One launch game Forza Motorsport 5. Development is being handled primarily by Horizon 1 studio Playground Games, though the team is collaborating closely with the Motorsport team at Turn 10 Studios; the two teams share a technology pipeline as well as select key personnel. “[Turn 10 and Playground] share this belief that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One,” said Horizon 2 creative director Ralph Fulton. In making the leap to Xbox One, Forza Horizon 2 will include hundreds of cars, according to Playground Games, headlined by the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán. A long-awaited weather system will also make its Forza debut, while Forza 5’s Drivatar system is also being adapted for Horizon 2. As for the game’s setting? Contrary to recent rumors, it won’t take place in the bayous of Louisiana. Instead, the game will take place in gorgeous Southern Europe, leading to, in Fulton’s words, “incredible diversity” and “amazing vistas.” Music will again play a big part in the game, and a music festival will be the central event around which the game’s activities revolve. Extensive improvements and features are in store for Horizon 2, which IGN will showcase throughout June as part of our brand-new IGN First initiative. We traveled to Playground Games in the UK and brought back a (metric!) ton of content that we’re excited to share with you all month long, including tomorrow’s full preview of our hands-on time with the game. 25. We got a sneakily teeny-weeny snippiest teaser from IGN a few days ago but now we have a proper trailer showing us what Forza Horizon 2 is really all about and unsurprisingly it's about cars and driving cars. Shown in the first video of the game is some of the locales that players will get to experience and race around along with a number of big name supercars from the like of Pagani, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and the new C7 Corvette which not too long ago graced itself in Forza 5. Big hopes for this one from many people and with a release set for the end of September, chances are we will be hearing a lot more about this game over E3.
