  1. Well Sony did say their advertising budget for the PS4 was going to be it's biggest yet. :D
  2. It's (almost) that time of the year again folks. E3 Games Expo 2018 begins with conferences starting on Saturday, June 9th, then opens to the public on Tuesday, June 12th. Here's what we've got to look forward to: Saturday 9th June Electronic Arts [11am PT | 2pm ET | 7pm BST] Kicking off E3 with the EA conference, we can expect to see the latest instalment of their EA Sports franchises such as FIFA, Madden, NHL, etc, as well as a new , and the addition of some new IPs such as Anthem from BioWare. Sunday 10th June Microsoft [1pm PT | 4pm ET | 9pm BST] Next up we have the Microsoft conference, which will be held next door to E3 because it's damn popular to fit in the LA Convention Center.. seriously. We can expect, as usual, a new Forza announced, Halo, Gears of War, and possibly a return of the Fable franchise if the rumours are true. Bethesda [6:30pm PT | 9:30pm ET | 2:30am BST] It looks like we can expect to see a new AAA title from Bethesda, a return of Elder Scrolls or more likely an expansion for Elder Scrolls Online, and some new DLC content for existing games. Oh.. and a NEW FALLOUT Monday 11th June Square Enix [10am PT | 1pm ET | 6pm BST] After the rousing success of Tomb Raider, it looks like we'll be getting a preview of the sequel, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Final Fantasy fans can also look forward to seeing the remade FF7. Ubisoft [1pm PT | 4pm ET | 9pm BST] Ubisoft will continue to kick a dead horse build upon its legacy with additions to their long running franchises Assasin's Creed and Tom Clancy (The Division 2) and returning Beyond Good & Evil which is almost as old as I am. Maybe some more footage of The Crew 2? Sony [6pm PT | 9pm ET | 2am BST] Don't expect to see the PlayStation 5 just yet, the PS4 has got a few years left in it yet, but there will be plenty to look forward to such as Marvel's Spiderman and The Last of Us Part 2. Tuesday 12th June Nintendo [9am PT | 12pm ET | 5pm BST] Finishing off the conferences will be Nintedo's video presentation highlighting the upcoming Smash Bros for the Switch and a few other titles coming to the Switch such as Pokemon (we hope), new Kirby and Yoshi games, and perhaps a new Animal Crossing. 3. Gran Turismo Will Finally Have Porsche! After damn near 20 years, Porsche is finally making its official appearance in Gran Turismo. The iconic brand has been sorely missed from the racing titan, except for a hidden away attempt back in the GT3 days where Kazunori Yamauchi tried to get his own 996 GT3 into the game, but unfortunately had to suffer the disappointment of not being able to make this happen because EA went and snatched the licence all for themselves, meaning the car was made unplayable or removed depending on the disc's region. In this the year of two-thousand-and-seventeen, that exclusivity hostage taking of the famous German manufacturer has now been severed, and now the marques’ legends and backlog are starting to show up in so many top racing titles that you could easily forget the whole sorry affair even happened. (I however won’t and in fact do still cry at least once a month thinking about it :() Porsche's inclusion in the forthcoming GT Sport was revealed through a posting on the official PlayStation Spain twitter, where an image containing the very highly-sought after modern Porsche 911 GT3 RS was paired with the news about the game's European Beta starting this weekend. Naturally the realisation that Porsche was finally in Gran Turismo, quickly overtook the whole ‘Woohoo Euro Beta is here!’ excitement. This announcement was quickly followed by more glorious images of Porsche metal (albeit the same model) from GT Sport's photo and Scapes modes. Initial impressions of the Beta from those lucky sods in the USA who have been able to play seem pretty positive too, apart from those sounds. They’re better sure, but when you got the competition blasting out those authentic sounds you need to step this up in your own game. [gallery type=rectangular" link="file" size="seven-post-image" ids="6728,6729,6726] What is interesting is that we are probably likely to see GT Sport and the new Forza Motorsport 7 come out around the same time, or at least know of and will have seen both in action with the presumable Forza 7 debut being at this year’s E3. And with the new Forza being a poster-child for Project Scorpio, that shouldn't be looking too shabby either. Yep, things are looking good for the racing fan yet again! GT Sport is still slated for a 2017 release and with the improvements being seen and this announcement of Porsche being in, things are only getting better and the delay is looking ever more like the right decision. Rough for RUF? Perhaps not many of you are even thinking about this now that Porsche are in but I want to know what happens to RUF now? As much as I love the 911 in most of its guises and a number of the brand’s offerings past and present, I still adore RUF’s CTR ‘Yellowbird’ and their R turbo, Rt12 and others. It would be a real shame to lose these but then if it comes down to having to choose between either Porsche or RUF, then the former is going to be the popular choice, and rightly so. However in my opinion, it would be a shame to lose RUF completely.
  4. VR Comes To DiRT Rally Since its initial release back in December 2015 DiRT Rally has astounded both fans and critics. The combination of the realism alongside the fantastic sounds and stunning graphics offers an immersive experience for players. This has resulted in a difficult-yet-addictive game, a legend up there with the likes of the original Colin McRae Rally series that preceded DiRT, and of course Richard Burns Rally. Codemasters are now taking the virtual rallying sim to the next level. As if it wasn't immersive enough already, DiRT Rally is now available for PlayStation VR. Make sure to check it out below! Welcome To Virtual Rallying Every game mode in DiRT Rally will now be available for drivers in VR, including hill-climb and rally-cross. And for the multiplayer lovers out there, you'll be glad to hear you can now test your skills as a co-driver. Co-Driver Mode allows you to deliver the pace notes on rally stages, testing your timing and accuracy, using the buttons and touchpad on a DualShock controller. One wrong call and your buddy's hitting a tree. The visuals may take a hit but the immersion players experience should compensate for that. Available Now Existing players can access the VR experience thanks to a new DLC, on the PlayStation store for £9.99. New users can purchase the DiRT Rally Plus PlayStation VR bundle as a digital download from the PlayStation Store or as a retail version from Argos.
  5. The Real Pic Taking Simulator A large amount of new screens have been released for GT Sport and with them we can see that Polyphony Digital have been busy little squirrels. (why... why squirrels?) 2016 has been a bit of a torrid affair for Gran Turismo fans, starting with the FIA-partnered event in July that seemed to show a less than stellar looking version of the game. As is the case though with anything GT, that worry is being put to bed with every morsel of media and impression that manages to slide out. The latest is this dumping of 78 images featuring a selection of road, racing and rally cars on a variety of circuits, along with a first look at a new to GT dirt location called – if the banners plotted along the course are to be believed – Fishermans Ranch. With steep uphill sections that inevitably end up in a jump and some high-speed sections with some hairpin bends at the end, this new addition will ideally turn out to be another well-designed fictional environment that the Polyphony team do so well. As you may know, the main man behind GT, Kazunori Yamauchi, is an avid racer and can regularly be found participating in major races such as the Nürburgring 24 hour. In that race this year he was one of the drivers who raced in the #101 BMW M6 GT3 and this car, just like a number of his previous will appear in GT Sport. Visuals have never been an issue for the series and natural colouring and lighting has always been a strong point of the GT series and again Polyphony are looking to excel at this better than any other. Always being able to get the most out of the hardware that’s available and continuing to impress onlookers (usually family) with those glorious replays. It is of course a little tricky to judge a GT game by only its still images as they have almost always been through the usual the post-processing tricks. However, What is clear to see, is that the game will be a looker and that with every day from now until release it looks like Polyphony are well on the case of bringing Sport up to scratch. And with PlayStation VR coming fast and the rumoured more powerful Neo version of the PS4 likely to be unveiled at a Sony event next month, the potential of this game is increasing massively. Good things come to those who wait. Indeed. Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled for release exclusively for the Playstation 4 on November 15th in North America and Asia, November 16th in Europe, and the UK gets whatever is left in the cargo container on the 18th. 6. PSN Down Yet Again We're only 4 days in to 2016 but Sony has already tripped up with the PlayStation Network. PSN is experiencing worldwide outages affecting all major services from online gaming down to the mobile app. Even those who are trying to play certain games in single player mode are unable due to the always online nature of some games. They have offered no explanation as to what has caused the downtime that started a few hours ago and have also not offered a rough idea as to when we can expect the network to be back up and running again. And if past experiences are anything to go by, we won't hear anything until the issues have been fixed in hours or maybe days? The latest service statuses can be seen on the PlayStation website here.
  7. So it appears the advertising for PlayStation 4 is going to be starting very shortly and our first real glimpse at it has been uploaded today via the official PlayStation youtube channel. It's a good ad and definitely does all that's needed to entice not only gamers but also the general public into taking notice of what the system offers. Only real issue I see is by delaying numerous titles, they've possibly killed their chances of sales in the 2013 holiday season. :cheeky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0d9d-cdxhk
  8. This brings back so many memories. UPDATE: Making of video added.
  9. This was just posted on the official PlayStation Facebook and their twitter too. Looks like it could possibly be the secret project Sony Santa Monica (SSM) [of God of War fame] could be working on? :hmmm:

  12. Logitech Driving Force GT - the official wheel of Gran Turismo 25 Jun Today Logitech announced the launch of Logitech Driving Force GT - the official wheel of Gran Turismo. The wheel connoisseurs amongst you will be excited to hear that the 11 inch Logitech Driving Force GT can turn 900 degrees from lock-to-lock, features a 24-position real-time adjustment dial for on-the-fly control of brake bias, traction and damper settings, and (perhaps most importantly) has a horn. It also has full-size accelerator and brake pedals, sequential stick shift gears and wheel mounted paddles. Read more on the GT fan’s dream wheel in the official press release below. Logitech Unveils Official Wheel of Gran Turismo™ for PLAYSTATION®3 Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel Delivers Powerful Force Feedback, Brake Bias and Traction Control Adjustment Today at the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC), Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), the world’s leading developer of force feedback gaming wheels, announced the Logitech® Driving Force™ GT racing wheel, the official wheel of Gran Turismo™. Featuring powerful force feedback and an innovative 24-position real-time adjustment dial for on-the-fly control of brake bias, traction and damper settings, the Logitech Driving Force GT gives gamers the most accurate and authentic PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) racing experience. “We’re excited to be working with Polyphony Digital again to deliver a wheel that will satisfy the needs of car enthusiasts, like me, around the world,” said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech’s director of product marketing for gaming. “People who love the striking realism of the Gran Turismo racing series will discover that Logitech’s latest wheel will allow them to experience the cars the way they were meant to be driven. With the Logitech Driving Force GT, you’re not playing games anymore - you’re racing!” Logitech’s latest racing wheel was meticulously designed by Logitech and Polyphony Digital, Inc., the developer of the Gran Turismo series. The companies worked together to add the unique real-time adjustment dial, a first for force feedback wheels, allowing people to fine tune the car’s balance by adjusting the brake bias, traction control and damper settings. Now Gran Turismo drivers can have precise control over the car’s setup to achieve maximum performance. “We have always designed the Gran Turismo series for driving enthusiasts. Realistic graphics, a technologically advanced physics engine and authentic sounds for every car in the game make Gran Turismo 5 Prologue a true driving simulator,” said Kazunori Yamauchi of Polyphony Digital. “Now, with the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel, drivers can have unparalleled control of their car, extending the realistic racing experience.” Logitech’s newest force feedback wheel simulates understeer, oversteer, and traction loss with frightening accuracy. While the full-size gas and brake pedals deliver precise throttle and brake response, racers can use either the sequential stick shift or the wheel-mounted paddles to race through gears. The wheel also features a large 11-inch wheel with rubber-overmould rim, providing exceptional comfort and control. The Logitech Driving Force GT turns 900 degrees lock-to-lock allowing drivers to navigate hairpin turns with greater accuracy. And with anti-backlash gearing, there is no slack in the steering response, making any race a smooth, realistic experience. In the centre of the 11-inch wheel, the Driving Force GT features an illuminated horn button with the official Gran Turismo logo. Using the authentic sounds of the car being driven, racers can quickly alert other cars when they are approaching fast. Or when playing online, people can simply use the horn to taunt other players as they speed by. The Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is engineered for use with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on PS3, which will be available on Blu-ray Disc™ (BD) and as a download on the PLAYSTATION®Network in North America on April 17 and in Europe on March 28. The Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is also compatible with Gran Turismo™3 and Gran Turismo™4 on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Source - threespeech
