  1. GTR 3 Real SimBin and the GTR series of games are notorious in the sim-racing history books but despite their past glories there have been torrid times too. The history of SimBin is a fun one to read but what cannot be denied is that their games were some of the very best for racing simulation fans. For long time followers of the genre you may be thinking ‘GTR 3 is already in development is it not?’. Well yeah it was, I still have the GTR 3 announcement trailer on my Xbox 360 in fact, and we all remember that screenshot where they took a dig (‘threw shade’ for you kids out there) at Forza and Gran Turismo, but alas irony has a way of being pretty ironic, as the game seemed to go into hiding and experience a delay that Polyphony Digital would be proud of! Skipping forward only a short near to 5 years since we last heard anything, RaceDepartment has scooped that GTR 3 is on its way and that SimBin UK and Sector3 Studios (of RaceRoom Racing Experience fame), are in the process of creating the new instalment for a 2018 release. Unlike previous GTR titles which were PC only, GTR 3 will be coming to console too, on the PS4 and Xbox One. For so long console players have wanted a PC type of racing simulation on their side and now there seems to be a barrage of them consistently landing. It will also utilise the splendid Unreal 4 engine and so should be looking fine in the visuals area. Day to night transitions along with dynamic weather conditions have been confirmed too, with the tracks being prone to hazards such as aquaplaning. Puddles will pool and then gradually disappear as the cars move through the standing water or the weather improves due to the dynamic water control. Better damage modelling is another aspect that will be getting a substantial improvement with the new title, over the current system seen in RaceRoom. From the interview it does appear they view those on console as wanting less of a real experience than their PC counterparts, but here’s wishing they mean that the options will be there for them to do this, rather than the game being fundamentally set up this way on those platforms. "I think another point we need to take note of is, whilst the PC community would love this hard core simulation thing which is fine, as Allan said there is a console community that aren't going to fully adhere to that. The product at the end of the day needs to appeal to both sides, hardcore racer as awell and the casual gamer. – Chris Speed, Sector 3 CEO Take a look over at RD for the full interview and prepare for yet another incredible racing sim to vie for our affections. 2. This golden nugget from Simbin may not be the best looker but it's still a damn fine game in it's own right and at this price is well worth picking up! :D GTR Evolution - SAVE 85% at Bundle Stars (Redeem on Steam)
  3. God Damn that sounds Gooood! Simbin have released a video showing the latest addition to their RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) free-to-play game, the BMW 320 Gr 5. In the video you can see the car racing around Circuit Zolder and my god just listen to the thing. Anyone who thinks sound authenticity doesn't matter in a game like this needs to start this video, turn up their speakers and then return afterwards and apologise profusely for being ever so wrong. =) Find out more about R3E at http://game.raceroom.com [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="4]
  4. Simbin the incredibly good at cars that go vroom-vroom loud game developers have had something tasty slip through their door, no not some IKEA meatballs but something electronic and with a wide metal front. No not that either but an Oculus Rift, the VR headset that looks to make VR actually cool. Daft Punk making a comeback this year could work in it's favour too as well as the crazy opportunities it opens up to players of all games. However racing games if you just think about it have a lot to gain, except for maybe the first-person flying through a windscreen, that might be a bit terrifying... but scary things are cool right!? Look what arrived today | Simbin Insider
  5. Ring Record Holders Two new cars have joined the Simbin free-to-play racer RaceRoom Racing Experience today, the Pagani Zonda R and the Radical SR9 are now available to players to test drive and buy for use in their game. The Radical can be used in a free track test around Hockenheimring for 24 hours from the 8th-9th May starting from 1800 (6PM) CEST with the Pagani having its free track test from the 9th-10th May on the newly announced Monza circuit. Find out more about R3E at the RaceRoom website. [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file] Thanks. Simbin Insider
  6. Mmmonza! Simbin have announced that the infamous Monza racing circuit will be coming to RaceRoom Racing Experience in the very near future and will be available in two layouts. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is the home of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix and is one of the fastest circuits in the world where drivers will find themselves running at full throttle for 80% of the lap due to its long straights and sweeping turns, and yet at the same time is extremely testing on brakes with low-speed chicanes where braking a few metres early or late could easily cost you time or even the race. Monza is always a circuit people love to see in their racing games so the fact it's coming to R3E is no real surprise but it is most certainly welcome that is for sure. 7. Come GT Some! Simbin have announced the latest mean-machines that's coming to their free-to-play simulation racer RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E). From next week an aggressive trio of GT Racers will be available to players, these are the BMW M3 GT2, Ford GT1 and the extremely rare but very cool Ferrari p4/5 Competizione. As per normal they will be available to try before buying on certain days that can be found at the link below. You can find out more about R3E at RaceRoom.com Via Simbin Insider
  8. Simbin show the Futur3e Simbin have released a new promo-video for their fantastic free-to-play (f2p) racing title RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) which gives us a glimpse into the content coming in the next few months. In the video you can take a gander at cars such as the RUF RT12R, SLR McLaren 722 GT, P4/5 Competizione and even a classic Zakspeed Capri plus more. And it's not only cars that are being shown, we see a track too, and not just any run of the mill track but the infamous and notoriously challenging Suzuka in Japan. 9. GT Racing in a GT Simbin has today announced their new licensing deal for R3E with Ford Motor Company and with it revealed the first car to come from it, the Ford GT GT1. There are more promised to come later and these will probably be more in line with the racing heritage rather than the road-going versions, however the prospect of the everyday type of Ford making it's way into the game at a future point could well be possible. If you haven't downloaded and tried RaceRoom Racing Experience then do so now! Thanks. Simbin Insider
  10. Simbin's latest RRRacer! UPDATE: Another batch of images added to the gallery below. If you know your racing-sims then you will know of Simbin, from their earlier GTR games to the popular RACE series Simbin has always been regarded as one of the best at what they do and now they are putting their skill into a new 'Free-2-Race' title called RaceRoom Racing Experience or R3E for short. The game is currently in Closed-Beta testing however as you would expect Simbin continue to release info and media about the game on their Simbin Insider blog, the latest of these being the images shown below of some of the licensed and fictional vehicles that will be available for use in the game when it's released. Even though there is no demo as such, if you have STEAM then you can try out a 'teaser edition' that as you can imagine has limited content but is very much well worth a go if you like your virtual racing and want to see what R3E has to offer. [gallery size=gallery-thumbnail" itemtag="div" icontag="span" link="file" columns="5" orderby="title] Thanks. Simbin Insider
