  1. [headline]the banner contest #87[/headline] http://turboduck.net/img/tbc/tbc.jpg[/img] It was neck and neck (and neck) until the very end last week, but unfortunately @hassan1995 won again, somehow. :p This weeks theme was picked by the runner(s) up @Loekie5500 and @cis4care who also submitted some awesome entries. Blame them if you don't understand the theme, thanks. Theme: Estate Cars, Station Wagons, and Shooting-brakes Deadline: Sun 5th March, 2017 - Entries | Sun 19th March, 2017 - Votes PRIZE The winning entry or entries will be posted up on our community forum banner and if large enough will also be put on our social channels too. (if multiple winners then images will be split between these as we see fit) RULES Stick to the implied theme (don't look for loopholes) - any being awkward for the sake of it will make you ineligible for entry Images must not exceed 5MB, and dimensions must be at least 1280x720. (please do not crop your pics to the banner dimensions) No post-production or editing of entry images except to crop or resize please, raw from the game is what we want - use the game settings to set up your image correctly The post that contains your entry image must be labelled with 'ENTRY POST' (makes it clear what image you are going with & for us to find :p) If you change your mind on your entry image - DO NOT post updated images in later posts, edit and replace the previous image with the new one (up until thread is locked for Poll creation) Each entrant must also cast a vote - if you fail to vote, your entry will be disqualified from Poll results (those unable to vote are exempt from this) You cannot vote for yourself - instant disqualification if so Winner chooses the next theme, unless they won prior, in which case the runner up decides - if no pick within 24 hours then theme will be 'Open' meaning you have creative freedom for your entry (still must be vehicular based) Winner has 24 hours to create a new thread or can PM or reply in the current 'tbc' thread to have a staff member do so instead Winner must not try to sneak new rules in the new thread or alter existing rules - be clear on your theme to avoid this Competition is limited to games on all platforms of any age that are classified as driving/racing games. (i.e. FPS games that have cars in them are not eligible) (Please mention what game your screenshot is from if not obvious) Entering the competition with a TDU2 picture may result in suspension/ban of your account. Each contest is broken into an entries part and then a voting part, after which the winner(s) will be decided from the poll results Good luck, godspeed, hail hydra, and remember you can use your Gallery space to host your entry. :bparty:

  5. the banner contest #68 A little backstory: For a long part of our history we have had a banner image proudly displaying up top on our community forum, and for much of the time that banner has been on whichever style and look we were currently sporting, a member's image has been on it. Nowadays we call this 'the banner contest' (tbc) and it's brilliant to see that it is as popular as ever! The contest invites our members to enter a screenshot of theirs following the manner of the desired theme which is usually set by the previous winner (however circumstances may result in it being chosen by staff or made a complete free-for-all in certain situations) and then from all of those, the community votes on which they feel is the best. At the end of the poll voting period the image(s) with the most votes, WINS! And the prize for winning, is getting their image displaying across our community forum banner and social channels should the image be large enough. Over this time many games have adorned the space from the early days with Test Drive Unlimited, Forza Motorsport 2 and Midnight Club Los Angeles to the more recent offerings of Forza Horizon 2, Need for Speed Rivals and now it's the turn of DRIVECLUB. With the current-gen of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 it is even easier now for console muppets to compete with the PC lot and contribute top quality and truly incredible images that are always a pleasure to view. Congratulations Soundwave! We have just completed the latest in our infamous (among some) 'the banner contest' (tbc) and through all the great entries received there was an out-and-out winner of tbc #68 and that was Soundwave and his impressive looking DRIVECLUB shot. It's not surprising to see that a game with some of the best visuals would take the win, but it's not only about looks with this contest as many games can produce incredible and clean screenshots and so making your shot stick out and be noticed apart from the rest is needed. And Soundy's image does exactly that, due to the stance of the car giving off a mighty aggressive look which is accentuated by the very wet road it's parked upon. Personally I am very fond of the sunlight coming in from the left of the shot that is then spread out over the rest of the scenery giving the image it's even greater photo-realistic look. In second place was Andreas (or Mr Anderson as I call him) with his great shot from The Crew, showing himself and another jumping long and far in the desert with the sun setting in the distance. Taking the final position was hassan1995 with a night-time capture of his custom Hot Rod in the latest Need for Speed. Of particular like in this shot is the city lit up in the background and the coloured tint in the sky indicating that the sun is close to rising. Not wanting to pile the misery on our team blue member Camel, but we feel it is only right to tell how he never got a SINGLE vote for his image. As funny as this is, it seems way harsh and we think this only happened because he usually spanks everyone in our Forza 6 Track Attack League challenges. A big well done to them and to everyone else who entered and thanks for making the reboot of our banner contest a great success!
