  1. In wake of Notre-Dame de Paris traged, Ubisoft announced €500,000 donation and Assassins Creed Unity on PC Free and forever in library which you can redeem here https://register.ubisoft.com/acu-notredame-giveaway/en-US From April 17th at 10:00 am to April 25th at 03:00 am (your local time)
  2. The Crew 2 Has Been Delayed The developers of The Crew 2 have announced that the game is being delayed from its original March 2018 release to some time between April and September. In a post made on the game’s official site the dev team say that the extra time will allow them “to deliver an experience that fulfils both our fans’ and our own quality expectations”. And it sounds like the elusive beta will get more show time too: In this light, we will also use the extra time to continue running test phases and allow as many of you as possible to get hands-on with the game. Player feedback and its integration remain integral to attaining our vision, and the development team is excited by the prospect of working further with our amazing community. As big fans of the open-world racing game we really hope that this will be made good on, resulting in The Crew 2 being a game that not only improves massively on the previous, but also becomes a diamond of the racing game genre. [via The Crew 2]
  3. The Crew 2 Release Date & Pre-order Bonus Revealed A new trailer for the The Crew 2 has been pushed out by Ubisoft during Gamescom and with it we get a confirmed release date for the even bolder open-world sequel, March 16, 2018. (three days earlier for those who opt for the Gold Edition) Doing the maths, that is a fair bit of time away but thankfully, to make the wait easier, there will be a beta for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Still no word or even a cryptic inkling of when this will be, but it is coming and if you haven’t signed up for it yet, then do so now! This sequel to the last game is aiming to go bigger and better than it’s predecessor and surprised many with it’s much improved visuals and total sandbox approach to gameplay on its official revealing back at this year's E3. Switching seamlessly between land, sea and air vehicles of numerous types and categories at any time was certainly unexpected. A great example of this in action is in this video by Gamespot: The game is getting plenty of playtime at Gamescom and a look around the gaming press and on YouTube will result in plenty for eyes to feast upon. The Crew 2: Pre-order Bonus For those who are already sold on the game and ready to get a pre-order in, a bonus by way of the ‘Legendary Motors Pack’ will be your reward: a two-vehicle offering that includes a Mercedes-AMG C63 Touring Car 2016 and a Harley Davidson Iron 883TM 2017. 4. [HEADLINE]The Crew 2 Reveal Trailer[/HEADLINE] The Ubisoft E3 conference is taking place right now and for those who were lucky enough to catch the leaked trailer and saw what it showed, the rest of us have only just now caught up and damn was it pretty exceptional! There's a Beta coming too! The Crew 2 Beta The Gameplay Preview has also been posted.
  5. The Crew 2 Beta / Rewards Program Registrations are now open for the newly-announced The Crew 2. No information about when this will take place is known but with the game not set to release until early next year it’s likely to be at least a month or few away. Getting in early shouldn’t hurt though, so jump on over to the sign-up page and get your order in! To help players deal with the waiting, Ubisoft have launched ‘The Crew Rewards Program’, where through the completion of challenges and objectives in The Crew players can unlock up to 18 cars for the new one. Beginning with the Ferrari 458 Speciale being the easiest to achieve, as it only needs players to have launched the full game (trial doesn’t count) at least once before the release date to have it waiting for them in their garage. With 18 vehicles up for grabs and a good amount of time before the game itself releases, the journey through the program won’t be something that can be completed immediately. Two awards per month will be unveiled until the end of the year. Each needing the player to perform a specific action in the The Crew where they will then be rewarded with the associated vehicle in the next game. And with varying difficulty levels these actions do not sound as if they will always be super easy and will sometimes require some effort on the player’s part. Players can find out what is being asked of them right now as the first three awards are already underway! A total of fifteen awards are able to be obtained and those who accomplish five, ten or all fifteen of them will receive exclusive bonus vehicles that are exclusive to The Crew 2. More about those will be forthcoming in the future. Progress can be monitored from directly in game or, on a dedicated page that is updated twice monthly. There is also an FAQ that is assigned to a support page for those who may still have questions about this or wish to be more fully informed. [via The Crew]
  6. The Crew 2 - E3 Reveal & Gameplay Umm, we knew this was coming. They let us know beforehand and gave us some cryptic sentences about how it was going to go ‘Beyond the Road’ and that the ‘journey has just begun’, but no one expected The Crew 2 to be this. This development team is ambitious, we know that is for sure, but holy cheese and crackers they have gone insane, and are quite literally looking to turn your typical racing game on its head. For starters the game is still about racing, but not only on the road or the grassy, gravel or snowy terrain. No, now players will be able to race on the water and in the air. You heard me. There are boats and planes, and as is becoming an all too familiar scenario, Porsche is in too. It’s a big step up in many ways from the first game’s initial outing and what is being seen already is looking incredibly promising. Due out in “Early 2018”, it is good to know that there is still a fair amount of time for the team to work on the game and get it looking superb. The large map of the USA remains for the next game but it has seen some serious work done to it. New water and air based functionality has required some technological wizardry to keep the seamless nature of the game, and this can be seen in great effect through the instant switching between the different racing types. Perhaps what will cause a divide between people more than anything is the Inception like movement of the world around the player as new sequences take place. Watching the world literally raise and lower around you is bound to raise some eyebrows. Opinions have been all over the place in response to the announcement trailer, and so it was great to see this additional gameplay trailer being posted as it showcases the new direction this is heading in a way that couldn’t be shown, and has very much turned opinions more towards those of a positive. 7. [HEADLINE]Skull & Bones[/HEADLINE] If you ever played Assassins Creed IV Black Flag then you probably enjoyed the open seas exploration, battles and all other pirate escapades as much as I did. Well Ubisoft listened and have created a whole multiplayer game dedicated to that whole premise and it looks as you would expect. As long as it gets what ACIV got right, this should be a really good game. It's not the full pirate experience we wanted but it's a step in the right direction.
  8. The Crew 2 Is Real Our suspicions about a possible The Crew 2 being in the very near future were right, as it has been confirmed that a sequel to the gigantic open-world racer is on the way. First noticed through a tweet posted by the gamesindustry.biz Senior Editor, which in itself brought about a small period of thinking and confusion as to whether it was to do with something for the current game or a new one entirely, we only had to wait a matter of minutes before the game's official twitter awoke to share a link to the official Ubisoft forums with an accompanying The Crew 2 logo (see main image), and the text “Beyond the road”. Knowing that Ubisoft have confidence in the series and developer Ivory Tower to push ahead with a sequel, is great to see. And hopefully the next game will expand on what the original did, improve on the aspects that players have fed back to the team, and will blow us away yet again with a vast environment where total freedom is paramount. This reveal about a new game in the series naturally has us raising some questions: Where will it be set? Will it have Porsche? What on earth does "beyond the road" mean? These answers and more will become clear at E3 no doubt, as this is where Ubisoft have become masters at revealing more about the games we know about... and then blowing us away with those we don't. As long as we don't end up with a repeat of another '2' from before, good times should be ahead! [via @TheCrewGame]
  9. [uPDATE #1: 2nd June 2013] The Crew, le jeu de course Ubisoft : nos infos - Gameblog.fr Translation by Speeder Google Translation Just saw this too: Recent tweet on the @GamesLabUbi account looking for playtesters of sim/arcade variety. GamesLab Ubisoft ‏@GamesLabUbi 27 May Cherchons joueurs jeux voiture simu et/ou arcade pour playtest à Montreuil du 29 au 31 Mai de 10h à 17h. Infos http://on.fb.me/PYaInj [media=twitter]338966622184284160[/media] ORIGINAL POST Well we knew that Ivory Tower (Ivory) was making a game for Ubisoft and that there had been hints of Ubisoft Reflections also being involved so this rumour of a realistic racer akin to Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo is interesting. What do you think? Is this the Ivory game or is it possible they are working on an open-world realistic racer? Just think how many people have asked for this! Rumor: Ubisoft revealing new racing IP called at E3 2013 - Long Island Video Game Industry | Examiner.com I may have posted this publicly before but not sure, I know they're in the Green Room.
  10. The Crew Passes 12 Million Players Over 12 million players have test driven open world racer The Crew, Ubisoft have revealed. More than two years after its release, players are still jumping on and exploring the vast replica of the USA that is the game’s world. Needless to say, the team are delighted at this achievement, and keeping in line with this ‘12’ milestone, the official Ubisoft blog roped in 12 members from developer Ivory Tower, to say a little something. We’ve only chosen a few but you can view all at the source link below. Every time I realise how strong and growing our community is, I can’t help but get emotional. Releasing The Crew was a childhood dream come true: building a whole universe dedicated to exploration, competition, adventure, and creating glorious moments with friends or solo, behind the wheel of our favourite rides. I’ve never thought this vision would strike a chord with so many and I am always thankful to see how more and more players connect to this world, filling it with their own challenges and creations. One of them is a screenshot I’ve been using as a wallpaper on my smartphone for over a year now (see pic). It represents everything I like about The Crew: the call of the road, the fact that the destination doesn’t really matter as long as you’re enjoying the journey. And really, ours has just begun! – Stéphane “Fergus” Beley, Game Director We live in hope that the “ours has just begun”, is a hint to a possible sequel, that could see a reveal at this year’s E3. The Lead Game Designer isn’t afraid to admit that he has been beaten by many a player, but even with that revelation there is no bitterness held, as still they share a nice little tip for how to perform a better drift. From low-key road trips on country roads to exhilarating chases across the most iconic cities, I’ve lived countless adventures at your side these past two years. And even if I’ve designed a lot of challenges and missions in The Crew, I have to admit I’ve been whipped pretty badly by some of you in PVP! I still have a couple of aces up my sleeve, though, and today I’ll give away one of them: when you want to drift, just hold A & B at the same time – That’s called power drifting, and that’s my gift to all those who keep challenging us, helping us deliver the best experience possible, and giving us the ambition to always go one step further than expected. After all, this is your game too! – Paul Narducci, Lead Game Designer Depending on how you prefer your handling in a game like this – you will either love, or not have fond feelings for this next one: A few days ago, I went to a huge event and found myself in the middle of a crowd of 400,000 people. Being able to see and be part of the human tide was both impressive and humbling. Then it hit me: there are 30 times as many The Crew players! The rush of emotion I got was overwhelming – thank you all so much! You have no idea how inspiring you are. Fun fact: I used to tweak the vehicles’ handling on what we called “the Branchu Loop”, north-west of Monument Valley. Then I noticed you guys were using Observatory Dash as a training mission, so I’ve taken up using it as a test-drive spot – and still do! – Sylvain Branchu, Vehicle Handling Designer Post-release support has been quite something for this game, with the update to the engine, introducing weather, and of course the photo mode. These were all something the community asked for, and incredibly, they got it! Being big fans of the latter ourselves, it was nice to see that there is passion in the team for it too. Like a lot of our players, I’m a big fan of our Photo Mode. Between my everyday job and a burning passion for nice pictures, I’ve quickly become a real screenshot machine! So here are some tips for the amateur photographers out there: take the fuzziness into account before capturing, it’ll help you get more realistic pics. For tight close-ups, don’t zoom in right away. First, set the focal length to a minimum, then choose your angle, set the focus to your liking, and shoot. Don’t forget to send us the result – here’s one of my personal creations! – Aurèle Gannat, Game Designer This last one, displays the feelings many players have for a game like this, as in how it is all about the freedom given to the player to play the game how they want to. That's what gives this title and those like it, longevity. They are the game that people will jump back on during bouts of playing others, as there is just not really anything else like it that allows the passing of time to be done in such a manner. (except for going for a real drive of course) I was really into the Artic Monkeys’ AM album when I started working on The Crew, and especially the song “Do I Wanna Know”, which is part of the game’s soundtrack. To me, it feels like the spirit of that song has soaked the whole game’s DNA: it’s the perfect road-trip track, the kind you want to turn all the way up while watching the scenery go by, goofing around with friends, or showing off in your favourite ride. It’s really touching to see how players share this kind of connection to the game, giving meaning to even the smallest details. It makes us all part of this big community. – Lucie Dugand, Level Designer Well done to all those behind and involved with the game, it’s been a wild run the last years, and we wouldn’t mind seeing even more of it, in the future! [via UbiBlog]
  11. The Crew 2? A post went up on the official blog of The Crew last month announcing that major updates for the game were coming to an end. The additional police vehicles are still on their way but after that it’s going to be pretty quiet until they have “details to share”. Generally this means work is stopping on the current and they are getting ready to reveal the next one. And from the sentence below found in the post itself, it begs to reason that this is likely what’s happening: “Today we want to inform you that we won’t be releasing any major updates in the coming months, but rest assured that The Crew has only just begun” – The Crew blog The need to be a bit coy and try not to say too much but leaving enough hint in there to raise an eyebrow is personally what I take from that. So let’s say that The Crew 2 is what’s going on here, and that we will see it being revealed like its predecessor at E3. The big question that comes to my mind is where will the new one be set? Could it use the USA again or will they go for somewhere else? Perhaps their native homeland of France would be a good pick. And with the problems plenty of players expressed about the first one, will they take this on board and look to titles such as Forza Horizon 3 for inspiration and ideas? All I can say is, I hope so. As even though it was a new IP from a brand new studio, Ivory Tower's The Crew was hugely ambitious, and despite the lukewarm start it did keep on improving, receiving two chunky expansions and several patches and features, including a photo mode. There is a good chance this has nothing at all to do with a new The Crew, but I really hope it is. As I want to see what this team can do and how they can put into practice the lessons they have learned from watching players and paying attention to their feedback. If it’s about a third expansion then that would be a real surprise, then again you can never really predict what this studio is doing as let’s face it, not many saw the graphical overhaul and weather update coming, no matter how many people actually wanted it. [via The Crew blog]
  12. The Crew Jan 2017 Patch The most recent update for The Crew is out now and it brings a bunch of fixes, improvements and gameplay changes. With the release of the ‘Calling All Units’ expansion back in November last year, players found that the chases in it can be very unbalanced, especially for those acting as the police, and so 'chase matchmaking' has been tweaked to reduce this and make them more balanced. Abilities have also been given a bit of a seeing to with the following changes being applied in order to improve the balance between street racers and police players during chases: Flashbang (Street Racers): Increased the flash intensity and duration EMP Dart (Street Racers & Cops): Increasing the cool down value from 30 sec to 40 sec Reducing some extreme effects on handling Unlimitro (Street Racers): Decreasing the cool down value from 30 sec to 20 sec Cop AI has been modified to get more challenging as a chase progresses and has even been given a bit of a telling off as now they will be less hostile to those players who are using a vehicle of a low level. They will however still attack like thunder those who brave a pursuit in vehicles of a Higher Level so they haven’t went all nice and kind. For the officers who are controlled not by machine but by an actual player, a new vehicle comes to the police garage in the form of the McLaren 12C GT3. Looking good in its police colours, this is another car that will be right at home in chasing down those pesky racers and their contraband. The Bounty System is getting an update to make it more respective of how notorious players are in both chasing and running. Should they be akin to a Judge Dredd on wheels or as good as evading capture as ‘The Bandit’ then their bucks and bounty rate will show as one to be feared and/or respected: Bounty rate will be used to determine the amount of bucks that the winners of a chase receive. This bounty will go up and down as players win or lose chases. Everyone will start with the same bounty rate, around 8250 but it can increase up to 16500 and may go down (after a lot of losses) to 0. Two separate bounties will coexist, one for street racer and one for the police. New leagues will be introduced for police and street races and these will be divided into 4 categories. The aim of players is to climb up each of them from the 4th division right up to the 1st. This ranking will be displayed during chases along with the profile ID meaning other players will be able to get an idea of how lowly or premier (bigly?) their opponents and team members are. And last but not least there is the bug squashing and fixes: Navigation Ribbon: players should no longer experience a disappearing GPS ribbon. Multiple fixes for physics issues with Police vehicles and roadblocks: players should experience less frustrating collisions during chases. PvP ranking: an issue was causing incorrect information to be displayed; this has been fixed. Achievements tied to equipped parts: some achievements weren’t properly associating the equipped parts for a vehicle, this has been fixed. Sweet Sixty Uplay badge: this has been fixed. Indian Chief Dark Horse fork: the visual bug that some players were encountering in the HQ has been fixed. Zoe’s call when completing The Crew Calling All Units prologue: after our next patch, Zoe will only call The Crew Calling All Units owners. Fixed an issue that was occasionally preventing abilities from triggering properly. Achievements tied to fines: some achievements such as “You take Checks?”, “Bills Bills” and “Hefty Fine” have been fixed. Summit events: some events were set with the incorrect weather, time of day or vehicles, this has been fixed. Interface: Fixed an overlap happening in the Chase Reward Screen with a level 1497 Police Car. The chase reward system has been revised to allow the integration of the new league system; cases where the wrong reward was allocated or incorrect car-part progression shown have also been fixed. Fixed an issue where some players’ rankings were not displayed in missions and skill challenges. Fixed an issue where the currency was unspecified when buying a Summit Access Pass. Fixed the issue where all the parts from level 51 to 60 had the acceleration bonus only. [via The Crew blog]
  13. Ubisoft Special Weekend = 7 FREE Games Ubisoft must really enjoy being 30 years old as they have just put on an impressive SPECIAL WEEKEND giveaway offer for a very LIMITED time, where you can get yourself 7 games for FREE!! Kicking off back in June, Ubisoft generously gave away a free PC game every month as part of their Ubi30 celebrations, and now if you missed out on any they are very kindly giving everyone a chance to acquire the whole set over the next few days. And we’re not talking bottom of the biscuit barrel offerings here either. Oh no, not at all. Included within this selection is The Crew, Assassins Creed III, Beyond Good & Evil and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Top titles in their respective genres and the other three aren’t horrible either. The Crew was available from back in mid-September, an offer many of our visitors seemed especially interested in for obvious reasons. What hoops and soul giving do you need to do in order to be able to take advantage of this I hear you ask. None really, just sign in with your Uplay account at the Ubisoft Club website between December 15th -18th, accept the terms and that’s it! There is plenty to play here and the amount of hours that will be provided from all of it makes it well worth the few minutes it will take to set up an account if you don’t already have one. Unless you’re one of those who deems clients like Uplay and Origin the devil’s spawn, there’s no reason not to get involved. So go get them now!
  14. The Crew: Hot Pursuit The race and the chase is on as The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ expansion is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Originally scheduled for a mid-morning GMT release, there appeared to be some technical issues that have since been resolved. The new content, if you haven’t been following the info drops and media that has recently come out, puts players behind the wheel as the Police in a new storyline featuring 12 missions, and introduces us to a new character, Clara Washington. In this new scenario you are Washington and will be helping in her quest to bring down a rising gang of street racers called the Harvesters. The prologue of the new story can be played by everyone, giving a taste of what the new expansion offers through two missions where you will first pick-up a crate and run with it to a destination, then switch roles to a cop where you will then pursue who you were just prior. After that though, the expansion will need to be purchased in order to gain the free Police Mercedes and to continue on with the story. Understandably however it is not the single player that is the main draw of this for many players. Nope, it is the ability to have a good old chase online with real people and CAU does this quite well. Start off by doing the run alone and then embrace the chaos as all of a sudden you are being helped by and chased by a group of players who are working together to achieve their goal. Finding others is easy as notifications will show inviting you to take part in a challenge that is already underway. Many different vehicles are available for the police in varying Specs for all kind of terrain. Street, Performance and Circuit are ideal for when on the roads and Raid and even Monster Truck is there for when things get a bit more bumpy off the beaten track. Taking down players as a cop is done by having the suspect’s vehicle within a 30 meter range for a period of 7 seconds. There’s no boxing in or having to ram against a barrier and hold them there required here. It’s not as simple as it sounds though as each side has abilities they can use to hinder and help them in their task. Police have access to the following: Speed Hack – This ability breaks the acceleration of any Street Racer in a range of 150 meters. EMP Field - The EMP Field can deactivate the brakes of any Street Racer in a range of 150 meters. Jammer – When used, this ability deactivates all UI items (BreadCrumb, Radar, crew widget, 3D tags etc …) of the target in range. EMP Shock – the EMP Shock makes every opponent in range lose control of their vehicle. Back on target – if the players are too far away from their target, they have the possibility to use the back on target ability to reduce the distance. Whereas Street Racers get to use these: Flashbang – this ability blinds the cop players and AI in range, and removes their UI elements for few seconds. Unlimitro – gives unlimited nitro to the caster and his support players in range. Guardian – This ability is a protective one, once launched, it will cleanse all the abilities sent by Cops for few seconds. EMP Shock – the EMP Shock applies a single shock to the target and makes the opponent’s car lose control and grip for a few seconds. Back on target for support players – if a support Street Racer (i.e, non-crate holder) is too far away from the crate holder, he has the possibility to use the back on target ability to reduce the distance. Each player gets to choose 2 of the above options from the menu before the chase and can also change them at anytime during too. Doing so means taking your eye off the prize and could result in doing you more harm than good unless you are quick! Plenty of new vehicles come as part of CAU too and there are all types here. Comprising of eleven that are brand new to the game including the extremely popular Nissan GT-R (R35) available in both normal and police versions. The full list of what is included in the original CAU release is shown below. We’ve highlighted the completely new with Nissan GT-R (FS / Perf / Police Perf) Jeep Wrangler (Full Stock / Street / Dirt / Raid / Police Dirt) Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé (Police Street) Lamborghini Aventador (Police Perf) Ford F-150 (Police Raid) Lamborghini Gallardo (Police Circuit) Abarth 500 (Police Monster Truck) BMW S1000R (Police Perf) Koenigsegg Agera R (Police Perf) Hummer H1 (Police Raid) Pagani Huayra (Police Perf) Ferrari F12 Berlinetta (Full Stock / Perf) Kawasaki GPZ 900R Ninja 1984 (FS / Street / Perf / Circuit) Kawasaki KX450F (Full Stock / Street / Dirt / Raid) Indian Chief Dark Horse (Full Stock / Street / Perf) Ducati Hypermotard (Full Stock / Street / Dirt) KTM 1190 RC8 R (Full Stock / Perf) + RC8 R Track (Circuit) Mercedes AMG GT (Full Stock + Perf) + GT3 (Circuit) Maserati MC12 (Full Stock + Perf) + MC12 Corsa (Circuit) As you play through the many other events and missions of CAU you will find AI opponents named after many popular and dedicated people from the community of the game. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Ivory Tower and co. you can find YouTuber spoon Blackpanthaa in there, along with The Crew reddit head honcho Elongo06 as well as some muppet called Tee Duck. I’m sure they, just like us, have said a massive WAHEY! THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS!! to those who made it possible for us fools to get ourselves involved. The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One for $24.99/£19.99/€24.99. It can also be bought with the new The Crew Ultimate Edition that is out as of today. With it, there also comes updates to the handling for multiple cars, and all bikes have received a better turning rate and improved suspension settings. Bug squashing has been done too, with fixes for the behaviour of AI, audio and more. For the full range of all of this check out the source below. [via The Crew blog]
  15. Ubisoft have been giving away some of their games for absolutely not a penny* the last number of months and even though only The Crew was mentioned on here previously, I felt it right to give their latest offering a shout out as it is the undeniably outrageous but damn fun spin-off Far Cry Blood Dragon. Think 80s cheesiness, lots of bright neon colours and other novelty additions. Ubisoft Club - Ubi30 A good title for killing time and having a good old fashioned gaming experience. *requires Uplay
  16. ’Calling All Units’ Key Giveaway Players of The Crew can get themselves in with a chance of winning a ‘Calling All Units’ expansion key with the latest Community Challenge to go live in the game. Open to all players and platforms from November 16th - 22nd, the Los Angeles based ‘Fake Out’ challenge will pit them against a prison bus that is accompanied with a heavy police escort. At the end of the challenge the top 20 players on each platform of PS4, Xbox One and PC will be sent a key. It is also important to note that in order to take part game accounts must be linked to Uplay, as this is how the lucky winners will be contacted. It's unclear if the key will activate before the official release of the 29th or if those who win will need to hold off until then before activating, but seeing as it is only a week either way, it really isn't that much of an issue to be fair. 17. Power Up Ready! The ‘Calling All Units’ expansion for The Crew which puts cops against street racers is less than three weeks away from release and it is time to learn about the abilities that both cops and racers will have to themselves as well as those they will share the use of. Starting with the tricks that the Street Racers will be able to pull to evade capture there is “Flash Bang”, this will temporarily blind and disorientate opponents and is likely to cause some havoc if used at the right moment. “Unlimited Nitro” should need no explanation whereas “Guardian” will remove any negative effects on you or nearby allies, while also providing a short period of protection. Police have “Jammer” which will remove the UI of the Street Racer making for map knowledge a much needed skill especially when racing around the urban environments. Not sure if that is the only police specific ability but it is the only one mentioned in the source. Both factions can use “EMP Shock”, this common power-up messes up the direction and steering of the one hit with it and will be most useful when employed in a way that will make the victim crash or fly off a cliff. Only 2 abilities can be equipped at a time so there will be some strategy involved in picking what will work best for the situation ahead. Joining up with others will make this easier and is something that is definitely encouraged. Making for what should be a number of fun and frantic occurrences. The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ is out November 29th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. [via The Crew blog]

The Crew is coming up for its second anniversary in December and those behind the game want to reward those who have been there since the beginning of that journey with a free Lamborghini and an exclusive sticker! If you were playing the game back in December 2014 or joined the party in January 2015 then an in-game Lamborghini Huracán will be yours for free, along with a stylish 2-year anniversary sticker! The Crew’s second anniversary is coming up in December this year! All that’s needed to gain it for those who fall within the above criteria is, to log in once the expansion is live and the Lambo and sticker! will be unlocked on your account. You do NOT need to own any of the expansions in order to be eligible. The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ expansion is out November 29th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. [via The Crew] Personally I just want to say it has been quite the experience following the early days of the mentions of Ivory Tower and what they could be working on. I can still remember when Speeder shared that tiny first screen they found digging around the early Ivory Tower website, showing that it was a car game. Then a few months later I came across a couple of renders by an Ivory Tower muppet that again sparked off the imagination engines going off in people. Mixing in some hear-say and reports about the possible name, finally we saw it, The Crew was revealed at E3 2013. So I want to give a massive shout out and big thanks to: Julian Gerighty, Soufyane Brahimi, Anne Blondel-Jouin, “Fergus”, natchai, Ubisoft and the whole Ivory Tower team for all their support and general goodness they’ve shown to us here at turboduck. From sharing general information, answering questions or providing us with beta and game codes to giveaway. The respect we've been shown has been above what we deserve in all honesty and I cannot thank them enough for it, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what else and new is to come from The Crew crew.
  19. The Crew - Police STOP! The latest expansion for The Crew is heading out on duty next month and the details on how the unlocking of police vehicles in the ‘Calling All Units’ (CAU) expansion have been set out. First and foremost is that every player will be able to do the Police prologue, providing they have done at least the original game prologue first. After completion of that the Police shop will unlock in Chicago and this is one non-buyers of the expansion will find their access to what the expansion offers stop. [caption id=attachment_5790" align="alignnone" width="800] Welcome officer. Have a free Mercedes![/caption] Owners of CAU meanwhile will be given their first police vehicle in the way of the brand new to the game Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé when they access the shop for the first time. Other pursuit models will be available to buy with both Crew Credits and Bucks. If you don’t want to use your hard-earned game currency or real-world spent cash then these vehicles can also be unlocked by completing chases. Street racers need to deliver a crate to a designated location and the police have to catch and arrest the Street Racer trying to make the delivery. A win will give the player the chance to earn a vehicle part as part of their loot; 10 parts is needed to create a Full Stock Street Racer vehicle whereas those playing as Police will need to double that and acquire 20 parts. The chances of looting a vehicle part will vary based on the difficulty of the chase (Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum). If you don’t win a part the first time, you can retry a chase as many times as you like until you do. - The Crew official site Crate chases are launched by the Street Racers, so officer gamer’s chance of grabbing a part depends on the difficulty selected by the runner. Pursuers don’t just jump in blind though, they can see what the difficulty is and therefore can choose to participate or decline the chase if they feel it isn’t of any benefit to them. Unfortunately patrolling the freeroam roads and highways isn’t possible as player-controlled Police will not be able to chase those going about their illegal business. It’s understandably to stop harassment but the fact of the matter is that there are players out there who would want this. So why not make it optional or even better, create a mode or server instance where this could be the case? The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ expansion is due out November 29th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. 20. Free The Crew PC The Crew is STILL free right now but this is your last chance to get it before the Ubi30 offer finishes!! If you haven’t already nabbed your copy then you really should, even if you have other games at the moment, The Crew is a game that is great for jumping on and passing anything from 15 mins to 15 days (with breaks in-between). A game you can play how you want and tweak how you want and with support continuing even after almost 2 years of release, it is obvious that the game still has something to give. You will either take to it or hate it, but with it being available for nothing right now (except for needing Uplay) it is well worth downloading and seeing how you find it for yourself. There are plenty out there who didn't think it would be for them but, after giving it a whirl, found some enjoyment with it. This is the last day you will be able to download it for zero pennies, so unless your bandwidth is precious or costs a fortune there really is no reason to dive in and see what you think. UPDATE://1 - we asked for the absolute end time for being able to download the game and it turns out it's: Wednesday 12th October at 8:00 am GMT. 21. The Crew 5-0 510 5-0 We are two months away from The Crew ‘Calling All Units’ releasing and the details about how to go about acquiring it have been revealed. To start off, there will be a full game available just like with ‘Wild Run’ and this will be called The Crew ‘Ultimate Edition’. This will come complete with the ‘Calling All Units’ and ‘Wild Run’ expansions along with the 19 cars from the Season Pass and will be priced at a normal new release price point. For those who did not purchase the ‘Wild Run’ expansion when it released to the end of last year, there is a generous bonus where that expansion will be included as part of the cost of ‘Calling All Units’. Therefore standard game owners will get both expansions for what is basically the price of just the one. (when we say standard we mean those who have not bought 'Wild Run') A good deal! … not if you were one to purchase ‘Wild Run’. That loyalty you see is rewarded by: a discount? an exclusive item just for all of you The Crew devotees? Nope. You get a 2016 Nissan GT-R for free. This vehicle is exclusive to ‘Calling All Units’ but is available to all who play through the expansion, so in effect you get a ‘boost’ for your allegiance. Make no mistake, we are big fans of the game and the team but we will always call out actions as we see them if we feel they are either unfair or a bit stupid. Developers and publishers should be looking to how Evolution Studios conducted their post-launch support with DRIVECLUB and aim to replicate that. A little respect works both ways after all and goes a long way! The Crew 'Calling All Units' is due out on November 29th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Source: The Crew
  22. The Crew Goes Free Starting yesterday, anyone with a Uplay account could dive on over to the Ubisoft Club website and download the PC version of The Crew for free. Since our post last week about this happening however, it appears a few things have changed or have been clarified. The full game is what is provided and players get to keep it as long as they download before the offer ends on October 11th, 2016. Unfortunately what was interpreted as all the DLC that had been released for the game up to now being included, due to the original video with Community Developer, Soufyane Brahimi specifying that the game would be offered “with all the content we've been adding in the past two years” is now not the case. As this seems to have changed to only be the FREE content, and if this was always the case it would seem kind of redundant to state this. So it is more than likely it was either never intended to be that way or things changed for the actual offer itself, which ends 3 days earlier than originally stipulated too. Though as bothersome as that is, there is still a full game being given away for nothing and the environment size, multitude of activities and time that can be passed just racking up the miles (as long as you develop a feel for the handling that works for you) is certainly worth the zero cost. It costs nothing and it's well worth a try, so be sure to grab your copy before the offer's end date.
  23. Free The Crew Ubisoft have revealed that, as part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations, The Crew will be available to download for FREE from September 14th. The massive and open online racer is the first game from Ivory Tower who is staffed by many of the former team who made the Test Drive Unlimited games as well as those from other great names of racing. Set in a scaled down representation of the United States, the game provides plenty for players to do and see with many challenges to attempt and best as well as side missions to complete. Since release the game has had a number of new vehicles released for it, seen bikes join in the fun and received a huge update that overhauled the visuals and introduced weather. There was also the Wild Run expansion, again delivering a plethora of new vehicles and introducing the 'Summit' competition where players could participate in events and challenges to win even more new machinery. And all of this appears to be included, as stated above by The Crew Community Developer, Soufyane Brahimi. The support doesn’t stop there either, as in November the new ‘Calling All Units’ expansion is due out, bringing with it new vehicles and new play modes where being the cop or running from them is the objective. It's something the community has asked for so it will be interesting to see how well it is handled and if it will turn out to be as good as past games that have done this dynamic well. And once you have the game, it's yours. There is no limited time to enjoy or anything. Now that is pretty damn sweet. To get your copy, head over to ubisoftclub.com/ubi30 (Uplay login) from next Wednesday and be sure to grab it before October 14th!
  24. The Crew vs The Precinct Now this was unexpected. A cops and runners type expansion is coming to The Crew this November called ‘Calling All Units’. Being that the title has a vast open world environment to play in, it makes sense for this to happen, but there was no indication that it would, and the ability to play as the Police has been an often asked request on the official forums and elsewhere. So it does appear that the devs are listening. Announced with a trailer where someone called Zoe informs your character Alex of what is going on, so there will be some sort of story to give a direction to proceedings we guess, interspersed with views of a pursuit version of the Koenigsegg Agera R and accompanied by a release of the details with a mention of more info to come in the months ahead, the new expansion aims to pit players against one another where the aim of one side is to literally pit the other. To do so, a new arsenal of police vehicles and abilities will be at your disposal. Need to hunt someone in the busy streets of San Francisco? Step behind the wheel of the new Lamborghini Aventador and don’t forget to use your EMP shocks or to call for a helicopter support! This won’t only be a re-skinning of current vehicles either, as the pack will contain a selection of brand new vehicles that both wannabe officers and unscrupulous sorts can use. From the trailer we know the Agera R is going to be one of those to get its police colours and other screens show the F150 Raptor and Hummer H1 kitted out too as well an F12berlinetta avoiding a road block, but there was also a banner update on the game’s Facebook where an Aventador and two newcomers of the KTM 1190 RC8 R, which is making a run for it, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC that is leading the chase. A Jeep Wrangler is also mentioned in the source of this info so that is 4 new vehicles we know of for sure. It’s an interesting mode that will hopefully bring back and continue to keep players within the game and introduce an entirely new way to play the game. We are eager to see what new vehicles will come with this pack too as new toys to play with is always welcome and the fact they may also see police variants is even better. No price has been mentioned, but if ‘The Wild Run’ is anything to go by, it won’t be that cheap. And with the current crop of titles available and those upcoming it will need to make sure it provides plenty of value for the price it asks. 25. Summit New for The Crew The Crew is already old, in fact it's near geriatric if we are to go by the typical post release support window of other titles. But Ubisoft and Ivory Tower don't care about age, as they are still feeding it with lots of updates and providing their players with new toys. For starters there will be a new car: the latest Mazda MX-5 will be coming to the game as a Summit reward for July and August and the fun little roadster will be available in Street and Performance specifications too. Some motorcycles are next and these are mentioned with only a 'Future' date of release. The Kawasaki Z1000 ABS and Ducati Paginale R will make their appearance sometime whenever (¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) and will be available in Performance and Circuit specifications. From looking these up, the Ducati in particular is a stunning looking machine and will hopefully have a sound to match. That seems to be the lot for new toys but that doesn't mean the new stops as the updates will bring their own newness: New Specs Here are some upcoming new specs inbound over the next few months: KTM SuperDuke 1290 - Circuit: August Ruf RT 35 - Raid: Future release Ducati Monster S - Dirt: Future release Ducati Monster S - Circuit: Future release New community Challenges Community Challenge - Fake Out Community Challenge - Chin Music These slightly modified story missions, cut scenes removed to avoid spoilers, will be available with a specific vehicle as part of upcoming community challenges. And as with everything game related today the fixes and improvements make their obligatory entrance: Bug fixes and improvements Fixed a bug that was occurring when installing the game on Windows 8.1 64 Fixed a bug that was occurring when driving with Monster cars in tunnels Several bug fixes and improvements related to Summit events Fixed a bug that was displaying a 3 minute timer at the end of a Freedrive challenge These bug fixes will be applied in our upcoming patch on Tuesday, July 20th (2016 we hope!).
