  1. King of the Mixed Reality videos, Marcel Pfister published a new video. Yet, this time it features something slightly different. Marcel created a Mixed Reality VR video riding the GP-Bikes Simulator by PiBoSo, using custom build bike handlebars. GP Bikes is a realistic motorcycle simulator, based on a scratch built physics engine that accurately simulates motorcycle dynamics and setup options. GP Bikes also allows to host and join online races, with an integrated matchmaking server. During events, data is collected, to provide statistics for riders’ comparison. If you want to try out the GP-Bikes simulator, you can download BETA 15 by clicking the button below. The downloaded version works as a demo until unlocked entering an official license key. www.gp-bikes.com
  2. No Man's Sky has already been updated so much (and for free) since it originally released in August 2016, crescendoing with the "NEXT" update releasing last year with multiplayer finally reaching the masses. You'd forgive the small team at Hello Games for stopping there, but it is evident that they really do love this project that they are involved with, as they are now announcing their upcoming BEYOND update, which comes in 3 significant features, all being interwoven together. I - No Man's Sky Online II - No Man's Sky Virtual Reality III - ??? As well as Online and Virtual Reality, No Man’s Sky Beyond contains a third major feature set that we’ll be intrigued to learn more about later. No Man's Sky Beyond is due to release in Summer 2019 (northern hemisphere) on all platforms for free. A special edition of the entire game with all updates included will be available in retail stores for PS4 and digitally for all existing supported platforms if you do not already own the base game.
  3. VR Comes To DiRT Rally Since its initial release back in December 2015 DiRT Rally has astounded both fans and critics. The combination of the realism alongside the fantastic sounds and stunning graphics offers an immersive experience for players. This has resulted in a difficult-yet-addictive game, a legend up there with the likes of the original Colin McRae Rally series that preceded DiRT, and of course Richard Burns Rally. Codemasters are now taking the virtual rallying sim to the next level. As if it wasn't immersive enough already, DiRT Rally is now available for PlayStation VR. Make sure to check it out below! Welcome To Virtual Rallying Every game mode in DiRT Rally will now be available for drivers in VR, including hill-climb and rally-cross. And for the multiplayer lovers out there, you'll be glad to hear you can now test your skills as a co-driver. Co-Driver Mode allows you to deliver the pace notes on rally stages, testing your timing and accuracy, using the buttons and touchpad on a DualShock controller. One wrong call and your buddy's hitting a tree. The visuals may take a hit but the immersion players experience should compensate for that. Available Now Existing players can access the VR experience thanks to a new DLC, on the PlayStation store for £9.99. New users can purchase the DiRT Rally Plus PlayStation VR bundle as a digital download from the PlayStation Store or as a retail version from Argos.
  4. Oculus VR Support Coming to Dirt Rally Next Week There aren't any games that I can think of that would suit VR more than Codemasters awesome Dirt Rally. With how immersive the game already is when simply playing with a normal monitor and controller I can't imagine how on the edge you would be in VR. The Oculus support will be added in a regular, run of the mill free patch on Monday 11th July. Just 4 sleeps for those of you lucky enough to own the Oculus. Now imagine playing this game with VR whilst sat in one of those motion rigs. I for one would struggle to keep my breakfast down!
  5. What to Expect CES 2016 is ramping up again with its formal start date penned in for tomorrow (Wednesday 6 January). I've been looking through the schedule and the following themes are the main stand-out: So, what's happening this year? Automotive Electric vehicles, such as the Faraday concept EV pictured above. A keynote from VW on their new electric drivetrains is also scheduled. Car infotainment systems, such as BMW's advanced gesture interface Self-driving advancements Displays Smart TVs - new software running on faster processors featuring universal remote controls and 4K/8K panels Gaming Monitors - new ultra-wide variants with high refresh rates and variable V-Sync Internet of Things (IoT) Expect announcements from Samsung about their foray into the world of IoT. Control your Samsung Smart Things (yes, that's a thing) from your Samsung Smart TV, Smart Phone, or maybe even Smart Watch. Virtual Reality Oculus Rift announcements - pre-orders begin tomorrow. Inclusion of 2 free games (Lucky's Tail and EVE: Valkyrie) and the Xbox One gamepad for Windows. Expect final price and availability date announcements. Price is expected to be north of $350 U.S. HTC have teased a "breakthrough" for their Vive headset, which is the reason for its delayed launch. It was previously announced to be available from December 2015. PlayStation VR has been spotted. It includes an external unit not quite as large as a Nintendo Wii that no doubt includes extra processing horsepower to achieve the required framerates for VR. Announcements from games that are VR-ready for launch. Ian Bell from Slightly Mad Studios has hinted at some new exposure here. Want to view and join in the discussion?
